The Good

  • Full-Service Solar Installation
  • Quality Solar Equipment
  • Competitive Warranties

Full-Service Solar Installation

Blossom Solar is a full-service solar installation company, meaning regardless of whether the solar PV system is installed on the roof or mounted to the ground, Blossom Solar will be present at every step of the process.

From the initial energy audit, to the final interconnection to the utility grid, Blossom Solar handles everything, including the design and implementation of the solar array, the obtaining of necessary permits from the city, and coordination with city officials for the final inspection before system activation. The company does not at any point outsource its solar projects to another, third-party company.

Quality Solar Equipment

Blossom Solar uses some of the best solar equipment in its solar energy systems, including solar panels from Solaria, solar inverters from both Enphase and SolarEdge, and a battery backup system from Enphase. Solaria panels rank among the most energy efficient in the market, achieving as high as 20.5 percent in some cases.

The company’s partnership with Enphase allows homeowners to upgrade their systems with backup solar energy storage. Solar batteries allow customers to save their surplus solar energy to be used at night or in case of emergency.

Competitive Warranties

All solar equipment installed by Blossom Solar comes with a 25-year equipment warranty, which protects the solar panel system against flaws, damage, or other preexisting defects for the life of the system. The company also provides its own 10-year workmanship warranty, which covers necessary maintenance visits for that time period.

The Bad

  • Washington Only
  • No Lease or PPA
  • No NABCEP Certification

Washington Only

Blossom Solar is only available to residents of Washington State. As more than 100 unique solar installers and manufacturers currently operate in the state, Washington is swiftly becoming one of the most competitive solar markets in the nation. Leveraging and promoting verified Blossom Solar reviews can be a great way for the company to stand out from the crowd and highlight its customer service record.

No Lease or PPA

Blossom Solar does not currently provide customers with solar leases or power purchase agreement (PPA) options, which both offer flexible terms, low monthly rates, and place the financing burden of installing and maintaining the solar energy system on the company rather than the homeowner.

No NABCEP Certification

Although Blossom Solar allows homeowners to purchase or finance their solar systems through solar energy loans from Verity Credit Union or PSCCU, the solar company does not appear to hold a certification from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), which is considered the “gold standard” in solar installation certification programs. Companies with an NABCEP certification distinguish themselves as true experts in the field.

The Bottom Line

Blossom Solar demonstrates all the qualities of a reliable, high-quality solar installer. Washington residents looking for a local solar installation company with industry know-how and systems built to last are encouraged to obtain a free initial consultation and quote from Blossom Solar and compare its financing options to other leading companies.

Blossom Solar installed a rooftop grid tied system to provide 60% of my power. The system has worked very well to that required design, providing us with a 60% reduction in our annual power bill. Installation was quick and the installers cleaned up the site impeccably daily. I have contacted Blossom twice since installation in late 2018, once when I lost internet connection for monitoring production (no loss in solar production) and once when one of the two inverters went down. In both cases Blossom responded quickly. I do not have a battery baxk up system, but am very happy that with Blossom's advice we were guided to select inverters that we can plug into in the event of a grid power outage. This allowed us to keep our refrigerator and freezer running during the day

Great company very informative and professional to work with from start to finish installing my solar panels, I have 31 Silfab 380 blk pair with Enphase micro inverters and so far system is working great I never have problems with it. Very reasonable price I have 5 estimates before I chose Blossom solar to install my solar system project. Military discounts as well.

Before I moved, I had used this company, and I LOVED the way they do business and the savings I had every month! Their customer service went above and beyond!

I have spent 60k and have been extremely frustrated with my experience at blossom solar as there apparent test subject on some new technology that does not work as designed. They have offered to waste more of my time and energy to try to fix it. But at what point does it become my fault for being dumb enough to let them keep trying!
