The Good

  • Energy Storage
  • Energy Usage Tracking
  • Free Consultation
  • Option to Lease or Buy
  • Seamless Installation Process
  • Experience in the Industry
  • Customer Care Promises

Energy Storage

Arcadia offers solar energy storage options whereas some solar companies do not. The company's chosen brand is LG Chem batteries, which are known for their high capacity and proven efficiency to store power reliably.

While solar batteries aren't the right solution for everyone, some customers value them for peace of mind in the case of power outages and for reduced dependence on a utility company. Keep in mind that any grid-tied home, including one with solar panels, must pay a connection fee to the utility provider and that net metering policies vary by state.

Energy Usage Tracking

Arcadia's WattWise app enables customers to track how much energy their system is producing. It also allows customers to assess and manage where that energy is going within their household and how much is being returned to the utility company.

Free Consultation

Arcadia Energy is eagerly willing to set up a free initial consultation to help you understand more about solar energy as well as the intricacies of its services. The company will help you to understand the following in that consultation:

  • The pros and cons of solar energy in regard to your specific home
  • The utility regulations in your area
  • The strengths and drawbacks to buying vs. leasing solar panels
  • How much everything will cost and how much you are estimated to save on your utility bill
  • Any solar-related questions that you have

Option to Lease or Buy

Arcadia Energy gives customers the option to own solar panels or lease them. Not all solar companies offer the option to either lease or buy, making Arcadia Energy a great option for someone on the fence about solar energy. These two options allow new customers to make a smaller solar commitment, first by leasing with the option to transition to owning.

Arcadia Energy does a great job on its website of breaking down the advantages of owning vs. leasing:

Leasing advantages

  • Lower initial investment
  • Fixed monthly costs
  • No responsibility for maintenance and repairs

Owning advantages

  • Increase the value of your home
  • Greater savings over time
  • Receive a 30% federal tax credit (until the end of 2032)

Seamless Installation Process

Arcadia Solar strives to make the solar installation process as quick and simple as possible for its customers. From start to finish, Arcadia's licensed employees handle all aspects of the process in-house, which means that the company does not subcontract any of its work to third parties.

Experience in the Industry

In an industry filled with brand-new players, Arcadia Solar stands out with 14+ years of experience. This time in business has allowed Arcadia to gain experience in the industry and prove its business model, which benefits customers in the long-run for workmanship warranty fulfillment.

Customer Care Promises

Arcadia Solar goes the extra mile for its customers by scheduling all inspections, making sure that permits are applied for, and taking care to leave no loose ends at the end of the process. In addition, Arcadia Solar doesn't leave its customers out to dry once the installation is complete; the company ensures that a representative is always available after installation to answer any questions and provide support for customers.

The Bad

  • Limited Availability
  • Needs Reviews

Limited Availability

Currently, Arcadia Solar only operates in four states: Arizona, Nevada, California, and Texas. While being a local provider does have certain benefits, it also limits the company's reach and limits the number of customers who have access to its products and services.

Needs Reviews

According to the company, customer satisfaction is one of its top priorities. However, without a repository of reviews from customers who have worked with Arcadia, we cannot yet make a determination of whether or not the company lives up to its ideals. If you've worked with Arcadia for your solar project, please consider leaving a review below.

The Bottom Line

Arcadia Solar has several years of experience in the solar industry and offers full installations and promises excellent customer care and energy production monitoring for the lifetime of the system.

However, without a large mass of customer reviews from which to identify patterns in customer treatment and installation quality, it's difficult to say whether Arcadia is a top solar company in comparison with other companies in its service area.

Michael Duvall Las Vegas, NV

I foolishly gave this company a chance, even though it is clearly posted in our neighborhood that soliciting is prohibited. I made an appointment with a sales person named Blake and they pulled a bait and switch and another sales person showed up to the appt. He was very rude and got upset, because I questioned why the original sales person did not make the appointment. He took it personally for some reason. He then made an inappropriate joke about the color of his cast - that had dark overtones and bashed the gay community. My wife, abruptly left the meeting shortly after this comment. Once he was in the house he did not ask, but demanded an energy bill, which I told him three times we were tired and we would not be able to conduct business, if he could not provide a quote( like all other solar companies did, w/o a bill). If this is the way this company conducts business, I can only image how bad their customer service is. Blake decided to show up unannounced to our home the following day, and we told him why would not be conducting business with him. He was pushy and left claiming that he would not be able to come back. Little did he know, that was a major relief for us. Moral of the story, don’t let unsolicited sales people into your home and don’t work with a company, that does not properly train and vet their sales people.
