The Good

  • Visualization features
  • Monitoring
  • Specialized plans
  • Reports
  • Partnership
NUVI's dashboard has some great visualization features that have been described as "impressive" and "beautiful." It provides actionable insights in real time, visual support to client meetings or strategy sessions, immediate feedback on all events and campaigns, exposure to new trending concepts and breaking news, and knowledgeable insight on where the focus should lie. Customers are not only able to monitor keywords; they can also monitor URLs, usernames, hashtags, groups, topics, and more. You can also monitor 24 different languages together or individually. Although they do not offer plans to individuals, they offer specialized plans to small companies, athletes, celebrities, non-profits, big name brands, news, media, universities, politics, agencies, and k-12 schools. NUVI provides users with clean, accurate, and detailed reports. Their reports can be converted to printable PDFs so you can share your results with others. All reports are interactive and come with email summaries to make sharing easy. They are in partnership with Business Wire, which gives NUVI's customers the ability to send press releases through their Global Social Mobile Measurable distribution circuit. They can then see how far the message was spread, who the main influencers were that share and/or commented on the message, and where the message was being shared.

The Bad

  • Transparency
  • Platform limitations
  • No mobile app
NUVI does not disclose their pricing model. Each plan is customizable to the business they cater to; so each plan's pricing varies from company to company. They do not offer plans for individuals. They do not offer the option to connect to LinkedIn, Google Plus, Foursquare, Flickr, Tumblr, and a few others. The only social media platforms they support are Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram. However, there is a note on their website that states the following:
"NUVI is in the process of adding more social networks to the Channels Dashboards. Ultimately, NUVI will be the one-stop-shop for managing, posting, analyzing, and reporting on all the activity across your various social profiles."
They do not provide consumers with an app for Android or iOS. In summary, here are our concerns with Nuvi:
  • Lack of transparent information
  • No mobile app
  • Relatively new to the industry
  • Assumed high prices

The Bottom Line

NUVI has some of the most impressive features out of all of the social media tools that were investigated. Their analytic reports are some of the best in the industry, and their visualization features are hard to beat. They only support Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram; but they state on their website that they are currently in the process of adding more social networks to their Channels Dashboards. Unfortunately, they do not disclose their pricing and a few other important aspects we needed to compare to other companies. We suggest requesting a demo or a free trial from them. If they are affordable, NUVI is definitely worth looking into.

Nuvi is a great way to monitor companies, individuals & brands. I love the analytics behind the tweets that I have being monitored. It's interesting and helpful for me to see who's tweeting about certain things, how much influence they have & whether those tweets are positive or negative. I like the notification by text feature as well that you can have set up. It takes a little bit of explaining to understand how to set up monitors but once you go through a tutorial and a little trial & error, you will love what Nuvi has to offer. Their customer service is also very helpful, so I would take advantage of this when setting your monitors up.

I've been using Nuvi for a couple of months, i run a lot of social media accounts and the ability to schedule out my posts is awesome and helps me save a lot of time. It's also really cool that you can see who is talking about your company and what they are saying about it all in one place.

The IDEA of it is great, does it work as well as they sell you on? If you are a HUGE business, sure it might, but not without a lot of work to decipher all their graphs, skim through activity one grueling minute at a time, and click on hundreds to thousands of bubbles INDIVIDUALLY to engage with people. If you are a small company, forget it. This service will be a complete waste of money. Not to mention they will say whatever they need to to trick you into a contract and then bind you to it for an entire year. I dislike a lot. I dislike that they don't send invoices at all before you are charged and if you try to access invoices in your account, don't worry you can't because they don't exist there. I dislike that we were told we had a 30-day no-contract trial that wasn't even long enough to build up enough useful data to see if it was even worth the $300/mo they charge. Not only that, we are such a small company with so low of mentions it has been COMPLETELY useless. They don't care, they just want your money. And because we emailed them a few days after the 30 day trial (including weekends) they "talked to their lawyers" and "the lawyers" just couldn't let us out of the contract. How desperate are they that they need our $300/mo if they have such large companies on board that they brag about on their website? I also dislike how there is no useful way to engage with Instagram. If you have 1,000 bubbles of engagement you have to click them all individually and change the color to know what you have even checked or not checked. It is tedious, time consuming, and a complete waste of time. I don't even know how large companies manage this because of how much work it is. Monitors are hard to set up, you have to specify and narrow down SO much just to tailor it to what you need. You can't be too broad, but you can't be too specific. They will ask to set up calls all day to waste your time just telling you all the work you need to do to get it right. Not resolving any business issues, managing NUVI is actually MORE work than anything. ZERO benefits. We are too small of a company and it is completely useless. They didn't have any sympathy for our less than 100 mentions a day and have bound us to the contract anyway. Cell phone providers don't even lock you into contracts any more. I think they are extremely desperate for money.
