Satellite and cable monthly fees are expected to keep rising next year but, at least in the case of Dish, you may get something in return. Tom Troy, senior vice president of distribution at Sony Pictures Television's U.S. networks, says "Sony Movie Channel, Cine Sony Television and getTV each offer a distinctive brand of high-quality entertainment that successfully serves viewers' continued demand for premium content on television." That's why the channels will be added to various Dish packages, according to Biz Journals.
Dish customers subscribing to the "America's Top 120" package or higher will find getTV on channel 373. getTV is the channel to go to for classic programs like The Perry Como Christmas Show and The Tall Man. It's a great channel for mid-century cinema fans.
Cine Sony Television is available to DishLatino customers who subscribe to the Clasico, Plus, Dos, Max and Bonus packages. Those users can reach Cine Sony content on demand as well. Cine Sony content is largely made up of American movies with Spanish language voiceovers. Genres vary widely. Currently, Cine Sony's website is promoting The Grudge, The Patriot, and Karate Kid Part II.
As for Sony Movie Channel, it will still be available with Dish. Apparently, it's only available with the movie pack, however. There is no evidence to the contrary. The movie pack includes 15 channels for ten dollars a month. That's not a bad deal, but it's only available with eligible Dish packages. For more information, see this.
