Pet Food Express has 62 stores located throughout California. Both employees and customers are welcome to bring their well-behaved pets into Pet Food Express stores. The company has committed to finding animals their forever home.
The company has helped over 61,000 homeless animals through its Pet Food Express Adoption process and works closely with numerous local SPCAs and pet rescue organizations. Pet Food Express sponsors adoptions, low-cost vaccination clinics, and dog training classes.
Pet Food Express has donated more than $2.5 million in 2016 to over 50 police K-9 departments, more than 200 rescues and shelters, and more than 100 schools in California.
All but two (Carmel and Mountain View) Pet Food Express locations offer a community veterinary clinic. VIP PetCare provides affordable and accessible veterinary care for pet owners throughout California. Owners bring their pets to get vaccines, standard heartworm tests, pet microchip I.D.s with lifetime registration, de-worming services, and more. Community members don’t have to make an appointment to receive these services; just show up to a local Pet Food Express.
Here are a few of the packages, services, and prices for the Community Veterinary Clinic:

Pet Food Express states it will beat competitors’ prices on an identical item. If the cost of the item is $10 or less, the company will beat the competitor's price by 10 percent. If the price of the item is more than $10, Pet Food Express will beat it by $1. However, the guarantee does not apply to Acana or Orijen brand foods. The product packaging, size, weight, and condition must all be identical to qualify.
One of the biggest downfalls to Pet Food Express is its lack of an online shopping feature. Pet owners can see what products are available and prices, but cannot purchase them online and have them delivered. This can be a major inconvenience for those who don’t live in close proximity to a store, those unable to leave home, or those who prefer the convenience of online shopping.
Pet Food Express is solely available to those living in the Bay Area.
