BarkBox Subscription

Each subscription BarkBox comes with a combination of treats, toys, and dog chews inspired by a whimsical theme. The classic BarkBox (without any additions or customizations) contains two high-quality toys, two full-size bags of treats, and one new chew each month.

For dogs that need tougher, more durable toys, pet owners can choose to customize their box to include toys that have reinforced seams and double layered fabric or they can switch to the Super Chewer BarkBox.

The monthly subscription prices for the Classic BarkBox are as follows:

• 1-month subscription — $35
• 6-month subscription — $26 per month
• 12-month subscription — $23 per month

The process for signing up for a BarkBox is relatively simple. Dog owners will fill out the name of their pet, their preferred size of toy (small, medium or large), whether the dog has any allergies, and the subscription plan. There is even an option to add an extra premium toy for just $9, but owners can say yes or no.

BarkBox’s allergy-friendly boxes exclude beef, chicken, and turkey. All boxes are wheat, corn and soy free.

Super Chewer

BARK knows that some dogs will tear through soft, fluffy toys. That’s why the company offers pet owners the choice between customizing a classic BarkBox and the Super Chewer BarkBox.

The Super Chewer BarkBox was created specifically for dogs who love to chew. Dog owners looking for indestructible dog toys will be happy to find out that BARK uses an innovative technology that allows the toys to withstand even the toughest chewers.

As with all BARK’s products, the Super Chewer box is all-natural and made in the United States or Canada.

Super Chewer monthly subscriptions are slightly more expensive than the classic BarkBox. Dog owners can expect to pay:

Donates to Thousands of Rescues and Shelters

BARK has partnered with rescues and shelters across the United States and Canada through its Rescue and Shelter Affiliate Program. After signing up, each organization will receive a custom code; for each BarkBox subscription purchased using their code, BARK will donate $25 to the shelter or rescue.

Can Become Costly Over Time

Like most other subscription sites, over time members are probably going to be paying more than those who just buy the occasional pet products from the store. What gets most subscription members is the “I’ll cancel it later” mindset and then when the time comes they forget to cancel the membership before it auto renews.

Membership Cancellations

When it comes to canceling a BarkBox membership, the process isn’t as transparent as other subscription companies and it leaves members asking, “How do I cancel my subscription?”

Truth is that BarkBox members can’t really cancel their current subscription, but they can cancel their renewal.

The site states that those with a 1-month subscription plan can disable their autorenewal at any time.  However, BarkBox considers the 6 and 12-month subscription plan a commitment. If a pet owner disables the autorenewal in the middle of their plan, BarkBox will charge them for the remainder of their subscription period and dog owners will continue to receive BarkBox until the end of their subscription.

If a member does not cancel before the first day of the month (following the end of a subscription period), the subscription will automatically renew. All cancellation requests that are received after the first day of the month will be applied to the following subscription period.

Shipping Fee

While shipping is free for all subscriptions being mailed within the contiguous United States and to military addresses, packages being delivered to Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada will have a shipping fee of $8 per box.
