Legacy Termite and Pest Control is a family-owned operation out of Little Rock, Arkansas. Executive leadership for the company includes the Heflin brothers, Jay and Marc, who are third generation pest management professionals. The brothers’ grandfather worked for Terminix starting in 1938 before he purchased his own franchise that he sold to Terminix International in 1999. The Heflin family has literal decades of experience in pest control and knows what pests torment Arkansas residents.

The Heflin family started Legacy Termite and Pest Control 10 years after a non-compete agreement with Terminix ended in 2009. Since then, the family has returned to the local market to bring affordable and sustainable pest control to residential and commercial properties throughout the state of Arkansas.

To date, Legacy Termite and Pest Control services six cities and the areas in between in Arkansas. These cities include: Little Rock, Arkadelphia, Searcy, Hot Springs, North Little Rock, and Conway. Also of note, Legacy Termite and Pest Control is affiliated with the National Pest Management Association and Arkansas Pest Management Association.

The Good

  • Legacy Termite Protection Plan
  • Indoor and Outdoor Pest Control
  • Rodent Exclusion
  • Mosquito Control Service

Legacy Termite Protection Plan

With the Legacy Termite Protection Plan, customers receive a guarantee that the company will do all in its power to protect property from termite damage. If an infestation does occur, all expenses will be covered at no extra cost to the customer.

Since termites attack hidden spaces, damage is oftentimes done before it is realized. With the Legacy Termite Protection Plan, technicians will retreat to stop the infestation and repair all new, subterranean termite damage to the structure. The plan also comes with a set fee guarantee. The agreement means that there will be no increase in cost for the life of the termite protection plan contract (three years).

With this plan, the Legacy Termite and Pest Control team will conduct periodic inspections and conduct retreatments as necessary. Not many companies make the promises or guarantees for a full three years that Legacy Termite and Pest Control does with its Protection Plan.

Indoor and Outdoor Pest Control

Legacy Termite and Pest Control offers comprehensive pest control services that fight the most commonly found pests and occasional invaders found in Arkansas. As a comprehensive pest control service, the Legacy Termite and Pest Control team provides protection both indoor and outdoors keeping the entire property, and those on it, safe.

Some pest control companies only offer indoor services or charge extra for outdoor pest control treatments. That is not the case with Legacy Termite and Pest Control.

Rodent Exclusion

The damage rats and mice can cause to a structure can be irreversible if not handled properly. The threats rodens pose to homes also includes fire hazards due to their tendency to chew through or on electrical wires. Rodents seem to create a universal problem for Arkansas residents which is why the Legacy Exclusion Service includes the following:

  • Inspection and identification of rodent infestation
  • Identify conditions around the home that could be causing the infestation and suggestions on how to fix
  • Seal off entry and exit points when needed
  • Install traps and bait as needed to fix the problem
  • Continual monitoring and treatment services as needed

While offering rodent services is not unique to Legacy Termite and Pest Control, the comprehensive way in which its technicians deal with rodent issues is proprietary.

Mosquito Control Service

Mosquitoes are a huge nuisance in the state of Arkansas. In fact, they have been coined the “King of Pests” in that region of the United States. Mosquitoes can ruin any outdoor activity into a feeding frenzy, spreading dangerous diseases like West Nile virus, encephalitis, malaria, and yellow fever.

The Legacy Termite and Pest Control mosquito control service boosts biological control with short-lived insecticides that do not harm the environment but get rid of the bug. Not every pest control company offers a solution for mosquitoes which sets Legacy Termite and Pest Control apart from other companies in the industry.

The Bad

  • Limited Service Area
  • No Wildlife Services

Limited Service Area

As a locally owned family business, Legacy Termite and Pest Control has developed a stellar reputation among locals for its service. The care and attention the company puts into its services is telling. However, there are limitations to the Legacy Termite and Pest Control service area.

As it stands, Legacy Termite and Pest Control only services the state of Arkansas, specifically the following cities: Little Rock, Arkadelphia, Searcy, Hot Springs, North Little Rock, and Conway. There are larger pest control companies in the industry that service a much larger region.

No Wildlife Services

Various wildlife species can present real dangers to a property. As a result, many pest control companies will offer some form of wildlife removal services, whether it is on an as-needed basis or a more permanent form of monitoring.

However, Legacy Termite and Pest Control does not offer any sort of wildlife trapping or removal services. Customers of Legacy Termite and Pest Control who run into a wildlife issue will need to hire outside to help with that problem.

The Bottom Line

The Legacy Termite and Pest Control team is well versed in the pests and annoyances that plague Arkansas residents. With a long line of pest management professionals in the family, Legacy Termite and Pest Control has the experience, knowledge, and techniques to handle almost all pest-related issues.

For Arkansas residents, Legacy Termite and Pest Control would be an excellent option for services. That being said, anyone residing outside of the state will have to look elsewhere for pest control services.
