I bought 10 windows through an installer. The installer did fantastic work, but the windows were flawed from the start. One had a big blob of glue on it. One had scratches on the coating all around the edges. One had bubbled up trim. One was missing spring clips on the screen. Four of them had the incorrect opening mechanism for the casement windows. The French doors had screens on either side which fit the openings, but the latching pins did not align with the holes. That was only the start of the problems. Milgard took care of the scratched window pronto. That was easy. All the other problems took months of coming and going. The service techs (all of whom were nice and seemed to care) took care of one problem at a time. Milgard claims the glue wasn't their problem, even though it came that way from the factory. When they replaced the casement opening mechanism, the windows then jammed in the open position. Multiple service visits followed before it became obvious that Milgard had accepted an order for incompatible window size and window opening mechanisms. Not only did they accept the order, but they built the windows and delivered them, but not with the mechanisms ordered. The bubbled trim took 3 visits to repair, because each tech would note the problem, but six weeks later when the next tech showed up, they did not have the proper materials to fix the problem. By the way, it always takes 6 weeks between service visits. Milgard has no idea how to speed up their process, even if it has been over a year since the windows were ordered (as were ours) and they still are not correct. The screens for the windows next to the French doors were finally corrected when our installer gave up on Milgard and hired a local screen service to custom build screens to fit the holes in the frame. That was one year into the game. Apparently Milgard put the holes for the latch pins in the wrong position, so when the screens were made by their outside supplier, they always had the pins in the "wrong" location relative to the holes in the door frame. They never did get it right. Milgard kept claiming that they had spoken to us and arranged a service call (there were dozens) when they had never contacted us. Maybe they were calling the wrong number?? It finally came to the point where my wife was so disgusted with Milgard, that she would hang up the phone on them if they called her, so all the dealings had to go through me. I'm not thrilled with them, but someone has to babysit them through their problems. Meanwhile, my wife tells everyone not to buy from Milgard. Nothing but a headache. Amazingly enough, the windows seem to be well built and perform well. Nevertheless, it has been about a year and a half now, and the final problems are not resolved. It is not likely that we will ever buy anything from Milgard again.

The windows were installed by the contractor 10/2017 during a full kitchen remodel. About April 2018 the crank arm separated from the casement window. It took until September to get a technician to come fix it. It took 2 min Intial request for service started in May 2018. Months went by and early August a great guy from sales came out to do face time and make a service recovery He I credit with getting a quicker turn around for an appointement Lastly. I received an email 2 days before the appointment that tells me the tech will be there between 0800 and 10am. I received a call the night before Saying he’d be there at 230-430pm WTF. Your systems are broke. It’s time to shut it down and. Revamp from the bottom up. Or maybe the TOP needs to leave

The employees that take your order are incompetent. They don’t put the correct info down therefore it takes longer to get a window replaced. Paul, the supervisor, is useless. He doesn’t follow through with his promises and is a chicken to phone back when he is called out on his mistakes. It takes about 2-3 months to get a window replace and installed. If having more than one window installed, they usually only bring one. Now, another 2-3 months wait for replacing a window. I was told not to order windows too soon if installment is going to be awhile because there is a possibility the windows will get broken while waiting in their warehouse. They don’t guarantee safety of your windows. Management takes awhile to call back or not at all. I tried corporate office in Washington, they sent me to the “executive customer service “which then forwards my message back to Simi Valley. Yeah, my nightmare starts all over again. These issues with Milguard has been going on for years. I hope better luck with you .

Milgard was good , installer bad , our window that needed replacement was up high in our house and required a ladder. First off no blanket on the carpet for the ladder and no cover over the top of the ladder so when it was put up on the wall the ladder left marks on our wall and the installer said O looks like you will have to paint your wall now. I don't understand how a service person that works in peoples homes would not protect the home and have things to do this with or at least ask for a blanket to lay down on the floor and at least a couple old towels or tee shirts to put over the top of the ladder where it will be against the wall. Unbelievable , now we get to get high up on a ladder and paint , I totally understand an accident can happen but lack of common sense is very upsetting. Please train your installers to take care of their customers homes.

Had new window installed in December started leaking this spring called couldn’t get an apt to fix it for about 7 weeks then you called on THE day that you were supposed to come fix it to cancel because you didn’t realize it would be a 2 person job but lucky for me you had and opening spot the next Friday between 1:30 and 3:30 so made arrangements to be home then the doorbell rings at 11:30 and it’s milguard and only my daughter is home she was over 18 and let them in. So they calk the window on the outside in less then 5 minutes and leave! Turns out that didn’t need 2 people at all!!! Nice person on the phone but Terrible customer service!!! This window has been a problem for 15 years!! Tired of the run around

The staff scheduled an appointment for me for May 2nd to have a window replaced, after it exploded. They didn't show up and when I called a staff person told me I never had an appointment scheduled on May 2nd but now I am scheduled for May 11th. On May 11th, after they were suppose to already be at my home, they again cacelled. When I called to complain, I was told by a supervisor they were only replacing my window for goodwill and I should be happy they are coming at all. Finally, today, May 22nd, they arrived and were efficient and put the window in. However, they parked their trucks in front of my garage cans so the truck could not empty them. I am happy to be through dealing with your office and company. I can only hope, in my new house, I don't have your windows and don't have to worry about them exploding.

I own almost 100 Milgard windows (original owner). I am yet again trying to get warranty work done. This is the 4th time a batch of windows have lost their seal and I have to look through cloudy glass waiting for someone to call! I own other houses with much cheaper brands of windows and never have this problem. I called Milgard to check on my case and they didn't know when they could get to it...so frustrating!

I would give 0 stars if I could. This company lacks workmanship and quality control. We order insulated glass units to replace fogged panels for customers who aren't covered under warranty and the glass comes with handprints and smudges or bad low E. Sometimes 2 or 3 messed up panels come before one that we could use. Their shipping and service department are nightmares. Stay away from the aluminum windows if you don't want to see daylight when your casements are closed. Essence leaks.

I had Milgaurd replace broken springs on window in my Hawaii home in August. I was not on island an had a friend let worker in. I did not return to island until December. What I found was a mess. Greasy finger prints on walls, window sill, windows. The drywall around windows where gouged up. Plastic shaving from window on window sill and when you opened window spring would pop and make noise. Window tracks are scratched up and looks like the plastic shaving are coming from window springs.

After talking to them on the phone twice and repeated emails, unable to get a simple repair performed, either by them or by them mailing me parts. Now six weeks in and frustrated enough to wish I'd bought Andersen. EDIT: Milgard responded after seeing this, and eventually got a guy out to fix the window. Still annoying, but it's as good as new and I'm out no cash, just time, so not a bad deal.

On 9/17, the service man came and inspected the window gears that were rusting, and said he would send out the hardware so I could replace the hardware. And where the plastic trim pieces were broken/falling off, he said he would send a bag of them so I could replace them. After 4 weeks, not hardware, not plastic trim pieces. This is either broken commitments, poor follow through, or both. Either way its very poor customer support on a lifetime warrantied product.

I have had two appointments for replacement of a window that failed. The first was cancelled the day before the technician was supposed to come. The second appointment no one ever showed up or contacted me. I have tried to rwsolves the issue with the sacramento office to no positive end. I have been promised a manager would call me which never happened. I have been hung up on and also on hold for over 30 minuted with still no resolve. I am very disappointed and frustrated with the way I have been treated

This is my first purchase of Milgard windows. The sliding door is fine but the transom window has a rippling look to the glass. It was replaced and looks much the same as the first piece of glass. I would have hoped someone would have checked it before they came and delivered it. The installer then said the only way to not have ripples is if you get tempered glass. WHAT?????

We called the company over a year ago to fix some leaky windows at some air leaks. Every couple months they said the parts are on the way and they should have it in a couple weeks. Now about a year later I finally doing something after I talk to the president's office. Very bad customer service. The contractors are great they hire. Good window product bad management the BBB has over 80 complaints

I purchased 42 (yes 42 windows) windows from Milgard. Triple pane argon gas with lifetime warranty. We had a wind and hail storm that broke out glass panes ripped screens and dented and broke the vinyl around window and dented metal trim on screens. Sadly I will have to take the loss as Milgard does not cover acts of God damage by wind hail broken tree branches... however they will replace the 1 glass pane that my neighbor’s lawnmower threw a rock through my window.

This is 4th window replacement of the same doors. They kept installing defective windows agmonst many other quality control issues (too many to list) which lasted a total of 3 years and over 15 scheduled appointments. Final appt yesterday was scheduled for 1-3 pm. Called and showed up at 5:40 pm. Was planning to go to dinner, but had to change that as they didn’t leave till nearly 7 pm.

Milgard does so little compared to other large companies to offer detailed info like window parts/diagrams and refers to other com-Annie’s (Truth makes the window operators). Very sloppy I think - did not think Milgard was interested in providing an easy source of specific info for consumers. Also, offering a life time warranty (only for original owners) is bogus.....

How can I began made a service call in November hoping to get the blinds on my patio door repaired before the Holidays but did not happen. Service rep came out in December. Guess what the wrong part! Made phones calls back and further to the company. Really slow in getting my warranty for my door repaired took almost 9 months to get a tech to the Missouri area finally got it repaired August 2, 2018

The bottom pane of a single hung window broke. I called a Milgard rep to order a replacement, I was referred to your website. I filled out the form, and received a phone message to contact a company for a replacement. Problem is the company I was referred to by Milgard does not sell Milgard windows. The original seller has not fulfilled my order because they say they are having trouble finding the order information, even though I provided a copy of all the original paperwork (order and invoice)and photos of all labels on the window, but still no replacement. Pretending to offer customer service is not the same as providing it.

You get 1 stars but should get 0, you have delivered windows that are scratched, then your service to replace those windows have been over a year. Then when you do show up you have the wrong glass, so the project is still not done. so sad, I am a builder and will send customers else where.

Requested simple warranty service over 6 months ago, after several follow up calls and unmet promises, their solution was for me to get a proposal from a local glass company and submit it for their consideration.

Replacement for door frames that are warped have not been taken care of in over a year. Service people finally came to house took measurements and left withOUT any communication for follow up. Called Milgard headquarters to find out the service people said job was complete. HORRIBLE SERVICE and NOT FIXED!

These people made an appointment to come to our house twice. They picked the time window of 2 hours both times. Both times I waited two hours and both times they did not show. Both times they lied about their reason for not coming. Both times they cost me 2 hours.

Worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. Purchase windows three years ago and still dealing with scratches and defects. Takes 3 to 4 months to get someone out to my house and when they come out they bring the wrong parts every single time. Would not refer this company to anyone .

My experience with Milgard post-sale has been horrible. Their customer service has nothing but contempt for its customers. Little things take months to get fixed. Big problems, like windows blowing out in the wind, they just run away from and threaten to use their lawyers. I will never recommend their windows to anyone I know.
