I like the loan officer. But any of the other people that handle processing the loan did not work in sync. I was sending and uploading the same documents 2 or 3 times. Plus they even had a robot asking for information. When I'm doing a loan I want to speak to a live person. Not a robot sending me e-mails for items. The processor I had did an ok job. The underwriters didn't seem like they had their stuff together. This was not my first loan or refi and the approval took long.

Process smooth and efficient. At first my agent was accessible, friendly and professional. He said in two years well refinance again- its a 2 step process. Once closing was completed I needed questions answered. My agent didn't return texts, calls to his cell and office- even though they said he was available. I won't use AmeriSave in two years. Too bad, customer service would have kept me.

I did not like the fact that they kept asking for the same thing over and over without really explaining in what form they needed it. They had all the info from whatever I sent. If it wasn’t for my loan officer Sydney who was absolutely tremendous in explaining and helping me I would not have continued with the loan. They better not lose her.

The overall process fairly good. I'm happy with the rate I rec'd, but was not aware I was buying points for the rate until I rec'd disclosures. I took a star for this issue because this hindered my ability to make an informed decision. The next concern is I started this process in early November and didn't sign paperwork until December 24th. My previous loan was an 80/15 fixed. One of the delays was Amerisave was attempting to close with me early December when I noticed the loan amount was only the 80% portion of my loan. Amerisave stated that was the only information my lender sent. I educated, I had already provided Amerisave copies of both loans for the past 12 months. Had I not caught the error, I would have been stuck with two loans again. I then took matters into my own hands and requested my payoff information from my previous lender and forwarded it to Amerisave in order to obtain the correct loan. This is where I took the second star. Amerisave staff is very friendly and helpful, but as you can read, there are significant concerns with their process. I feel there are some training opportunities that need to happen regarding their processes.

Amerisave gave an excellent rate on our refi and got the ball rolling really quickly once I contacted them. The issue came once we'd paid the up front $500 to officially sign on to doing the refinance. Once we did this, everything kind of went dark. The loan originator we had been working with stopped returning our messages and never picked up his phone. No progress seemed to be being made on the refi, no updates, and we weren't sure when it would finish. Our rate hadn't been locked, so I was worried and wanted to get to that point asap. I started reading other reviews and saw that happened a lot, so I got really nervous. I ended up calling the main company multiple times, and eventually asked to talk to our loan originator's manager. Finally (this was after ~3 or so weeks of no contact), my constant calling and contacting the manager got results. I got a date when it would be done, and the manager locked our rate (at near the original rate we got, it had gone up a tiny bit so we had to pay a fraction of a point, but it was only a few hundred extra than we had originally agreed to). After this, we got connected with a loan processor, who was excellent at responding and keeping us in the loop. It only took another month or so for it to finish, and she kept us updated the whole way through. We started our refi in early September and the whole thing was done by the beginning of November. The website you use to enter info is nice, and they don't ask for every single bank account under the sun, so it was less documentation than going through a regular bank (besides being a significantly lower rate). The mortgage servicer they leave you with also has bad ratings, so that's not great, but I haven't had problems yet. They have a fine website and seem to be professional. But most bad reviews mention talk about bad service if you have problems, and I can't speak for that as its only been a month. So in summary, if you want a great rate and are willing to take the risk of paying a bit up front and having a floating rate for a bit of time...and possibly having them go dark somewhere in the middle of the process, if you can make it through, you will have gotten a good deal in the end. It was a lot of stress though and I was half worried I was being scammed along the way. So just keep all that in mind if you decide to go with them.
