The Good

  • Unilevel compensation plan
  • Incentives and bonuses
  • Money back guarantee
  • Growing company
  • Upstanding DSA member
  • NSF International certification

Unilevel Compensation Plan

The cost to join the Youngevity business opportunity as an independent distributor is $25. Distributors are given ten ways to earn income through the company's unilevel compensation plan and have the ability to earn up to 30 percent commissions on retail product sales. Distributors also have the opportunity to earn between 5 and 8 percent commissions on personal and business group volumes through Level 8.

Incentives and Bonuses

Youngevity offers a number of additional financial bonuses and incentives, including monthly free products, dream cars, luxury vacations, and revenue sharing pools. When an independent distributor refers three new Healthy Body Start Paks during a month, they are eligible to receive a Healthy Body Start Pak for themselves at no charge if they have an active autoship of this particular product.

Money Back Guarantee

Youngevity products range from $50 to $150 and come with a risk-free 30-day money back guarantee.

Growing Company

In addition to significant revenue growth over the past several fiscal quarters, Youngevity recently expanded into the coffee business and owns its own coffee plantation and processing facility. The company is currently seeking the purchase of a second plantation to expand its coffee operations. This is a good sign that the company is growing, which is beneficial for those who are financially invested in the company.

Upstanding DSA Member

Youngevity is an upstanding member of the Direct Selling Association and abides fully with its strict code of ethics.

NSF International Certification

Youngevity has received certification from NSF International, which is a non-profit regulatory agency that sets forth strict standards and procedures in regards to product quality. This third-party testing and approval helps to ensure that consumers receive high-quality products that are safe for human use and consumption.

The Bad

  • Strong emphasis on recruitment
  • Risk factors
  • Controversial viewpoints from founder

Strong Emphasis on Recruitment

Youngevity's compensation plan places a strong emphasis on recruitment. Without a strong background in sales and marketing, individuals may struggle with this over the long-term. Unfortunately, the company does not offer business training in advanced sales and marketing techniques. Individuals may want to consider pursuing additional business training on their own or investing in a different multi-level marketing company that provides more education and support.

Risk Factors

In a recent 2014 prospectus to investors, Youngevity acknowledged a number of risk factors that the company has moving forward. Specifically, Youngevity noted that it is difficult for the company to predict the extent to which it will be able to maintain or improve current levels of revenues and profitability. Youngevity is also concerned with its ability to manage future growth and face its strong competition in the marketplace.

Controversial Viewpoints from Founder

Youngevity's founder, Dr. Joel Wallach, has some controversial viewpoints that are highly debated by members of the medical community. For example, Dr. Wallach has claimed that 99 percent of all Americans are deficient in minerals. As evidence for this claim, he cited an article named "Senate Document 264." However, this article was actually just a reprint article originally published in Cosmopolitan magazine by a farmer in 1936.

The Bottom Line

Youngevity is a multi-level marketing company with over 20 years of experience in the nutritional supplements industry. The cost to join the business opportunity as an independent distributor is relatively low when compared to that of similar companies in the marketplace. Distributors earn 30 percent commissions on retail product sales and between 5 and 8 percent commissions on personal and group business volume.

The company also offers numerous other financial incentives and bonuses to its independent distributors. However, Youngevity places a strong emphasis on recruitment but does not provide sales and marketing training. Additionally, the company has stated that it is unsure if it will be able to maintain or improve current levels of profitability.

I have been using some of their products for about a year. I have noticed that I don't get sick as often as I used to. I am 64 years old, not overweight, do not smoke, and rarely drink alcohol. I compared the labels of their Ultimate Daily Classic with One A Day Men's by Bayer. Except for a few minerals, the Ultimate one has much more percentage for a daily dose than the Bayer one. However the Ultimate says take 3 tablets daily while Bayer says one. I take two of the Ultimate plus other powdered minerals I mix with my juice and cereal. It costs money and time to take, but I think the health benefits are well worth it. By the way, you should be aware that anything that claims to prevent and even cure a long list of diseases in their ads will be severely criticized by the medical and pharma communities.

I have been a user of Youngevity for 4 years and I have reversed several degenerative diseases, I am also a distributor and have received a check every month for a couple years with only 10 people signed up because the people really like the results and stay with the program. My older son turned around his PTSD after 9 tours of duty with the Army National Guard in the Middle East, what a blessing.

DO NOT BUY! This is scam! My elderly mother ordered one box and they kept sending them to her. We tried to cancel the subscription she didn't realize she was getting - and we were told that we had to cancel in writing. We did - but the boxes kept coming. We sent them back unopened, and she never got her money back that she was promised. She was also promised credit for the ones that she opened that were sent back - and of course she never got that either. They prey on people that don't realize what they are getting themselves into and then make it impossible to stop it. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and spreading our story on every social media site I can find. Do not buy from this company! If I could give it zero stars, I would.

I have been using the products and dealing with customer service and their warranty and have found them amazingly well to communicate and the products when I take them work every time.

Great review by Scott Common. Doctor Wallach's story is powerful and life-changing and well worth looking into. Two of the several books he has authored, Dead Doctor's Don't Lie and Epigenetics: The Death of the Theory of Genetic Disease Transmission go over his life story. The core products at Youngevity are phenomenal and most user's become life-long advocates for them after they recover their health by using them. The 90 for Life Products were designed by Doctor Wallach who was able to draw from his extensive experience in the areas of nutrition and disease pathology while formulating them. THEY WORK!

Best product for life and health. Helped heal me in two weeks. I like them for the choices of products in powder or drinkable formats. I like that they are backed by naturopathic doctors.

Pros: The story and message of the founder Dr. Wallach is powerful and life changing. The products are high quality and yet affordable for the average person who wants to reverse disease and recapture youth. The corporate side has a very aggressive plan to become a billion dollar company in terms of it's acquisition strategy - making this unique and powerful for big thinking distributors. Their compensation plan is solid, fair, tested, and lucrative. They are a true "redirected" spending company - A MUST for longevity of a distribution network for generations. Cons: Their online platform is a mess. They have yet to organize or brand their over 2,000 products in a way that is manageable and / or attractive. Much room for growth here.
