Active Guardian worked for my mother just fine for over a year. Paid for another year of monitoring. Suddenly the battery won't hold a charge for more than 24 hours, and then less than 12 hours!! They told us that AT&T has phased out 2G and 3G service so the device is hunting for cell towers and using battery power faster!! OK, but 12 hours is worthless, so we returned the device and are waiting for a refund. Medical Guardian knows this yet they still sell the Active Guardian touting up to 5 days of battery life. Be sure to test it out for coverage in your are during their trial period. But be aware that it uses 3G and that is being shut down by AT&T.

Upon arrival to my home I learned the Base station was not preset/recorded in your computer system, which rendered it useless because my loved one could not be located. Also, the combination was not set on padlock so it is currently useless to us. I will have to call customer service again and be placed on hold forever to get this straightened out. I gave up once a few days ago. Lastly, the speaker on the base station is too weak to be clearly heard in the adjoining rooms. One would think your company would have integrated a headphone/ext speaker jack to allow your consumer the option of amplifying the caller. Because the beginning of this business arrangement and the speaker on base is so poor, I am left with no faith in your monitoring capability. I am leaning towards returning the system and reseaching another company offering your services. I paid for the service a full year in advance hoping to receive what I did not receive--more security and peace.

Everywhere in my house, I have 1-2 bars coverage! I have tons of windows. The sound coming out is not that clear and sometimes hard for my mom to understand. They sent the lock box key the first time with wrong combination ( we had discussed extensively.)

The person I spoke to provided me the information I was calling about. He then asked if I wanted to schedule a callback so I could think it over. I said "No. I'll call you when we make a decision." After receiving three calls from this person I finally decided to block the number. It's sad that people, and companies, can't honor a simple request. It's this lack of acceptance of my request that makes me think twice about conducting business with a company.

I called for information about the company's products for my father. The salesman was nice enough but seemed pushy. In the end, I did reluctantly order a subscription as opposed to talking it over with my father first. My VISA was charged the $49.45. I was told the product was being processed for shipment. I find out from the billing statement that my product was shipped USPS ground. So I've paid $50 to sit and wait for a product, which basically tells me that is the product acquisition fee. My statement also shows that I ordered a standard package when I specifically agreed to pay for a mobile package with 2 buttons. I am waiting to see what comes in. It has only been 10 days since I placed my order. USPS ground can take up to 6 weeks, according to my local post office. Now I sit and wait to see what happens. I am not pleased so far. Btw, there is NO lifetime warranty/guarantee like bestcompany.com advertised. Not sure I'll trust this site again. *After posting this review, I finally recieved a nice looking email from Medical Guardian with my shipping information and company contact information. Either serious coincidence or bestcompany.com commented?

With regards to shipping, you should typically receive your device in 7 to 10 business days if the ground shipping option is chosen (2 calendar weeks excluding any holidays), so the 6-week timeframe you discussed in your review should not be a concern. Your device should arrive shortly if it has not already. We definitely want to ensure that you get the unit that you ordered, so if outstanding issues remain with this or the shipping process, please reply directly to this message so we can resolve these issues for you. As far as warranty information is concerned, we do offer lifetime replacements for unit defects. I researched many medical alert systems, and found Medical Guardian to be one of the best. I liked the features such as the smart watch, and the coverage throughout the United States. The only disadvantages I found was it does not detect falls, and it is expensive in comparison with other medical alert systems

I contacted Medical Guardian about getting a fall monitor for my 94 year old mother. Unknown to me, the same day another family member bought one (different brand) at a local store. I have been getting call after call from Medical Guardian. I explain what happened , that I don't need one anymore, but I keep getting the calls. Then, they sent me one (without my permission). No one I have talked to knows why I was sent one, or who sent it, or even how I return it. And I keep getting sales calls. I really don't have time to deal with this right now, or to explain the situation yet again to another sales person.

Problem I found was that the contact numbers listed were called and so was dispatch and that is wrong. I do not like the fact that they will not cancel the service till they receive the item back so that eats up money for nothing they come out ahead on this deal I did have communication problems and people not listening correctly as well Make sure you ask lots of questions before you agree to the service

You see what I mean about not being technical with electronic devises and this little screw up is an example of the lack of that ability because I had already started your reply and accidentally hit the key send. At any rate, I can not use the pendent because of the thyroid cancer and I can not use the watch because of my inability to set the electrical watch. No help addressed. Why buy something when can not use it? So I have not recontacted with the lady.

If that still seems too complicated, we suggest that you look into our Mobile Guardian with a wrist pendant. It allows for you to be protected while at home and on the go. I dislike that you can not get information without giving them ALL your contact info. I wanted to go back and check on the shipping process. (I did order this one). I ended up calling and was told finally, after 8 days, I had cleared the billing process. Now I was to wait for it to be shipped. When I expressed concern to how long it was taking I was reminded I could have done express shipping to expedite the process. It is not even in the mail yet and he could not tell me when it would be, except, it takes 7-10 business days to get it. Already very disappointed. I also did not like the ordering process because it did not give me a date that it would come and their communication was very vague. I really hope the service works once it FINALLY gets here. If you are looking into ordering pay the extra money to get it to you so you don't have wait and wait and wait. According to their reply they will not get it to me in 10 business days, it will be 11. I will be getting it 11 business days, not 10.

I would suggest they add a volume adjustment feature. It is difficult to hear them and I know they cannot hear us from across a small room. I have a very strong voice and almost needed to shout for them to hear me when I was testing it for my Mother-in-law. I recently tested it while we were away from her home and they were able to tell me what address I was at.

Because at first things were very helpful , but the rep continued to call me daily despite me informing them that I would contact them when we were ready . We did not have time to make a decision due to our family member under going surgeries for her breast cancer . I told my rep this and he called daily anyway. I felt hounded and eventually blocked this companies number. I will not purchase from you because of this .

The customer service people were helpful, the installation was simple. With Life Alert a technician had to come to the house and run the monitor through the phone jack. Medical Guardian's device simply plugs in to an outlet.

When I called to get it set up for my brother they put in the wrong address in and I had to call back 3 times before it got corrected. This was a serious mistake that should never have been made and should have been corrected when I called the first time. They also sent the equipment to the wrong address. Then to compensate for their serious mistake they said they would credit back to checking account 2 but have not received it yet

This alert system is for my 94 yr old mother. Since we just installed the system a week ago, there has not been (thankfully) any need to request help. I do know that the operators were quick to respond when we were activating the system and testing each alert piece. Otherwise, it is too early to give an honest answer to any of these questions.

only 1 problem; I asked specifically if the Operator would be able to hear my mom from anywhere in the house and the Salesperson assured me that yes, the Operator could hear her from 600 ft away. That is not the case when I hooked up the machine.

We have just started with this company. All customer service representatives have been great, however, i did not like how long it took for the unit to arrive. I oredered it on 1/12/18 and it arrived on 1/27. Also, it was difficult to reach someone when i had questions or needed to make changes to our information. I was on hold for greater than 8 minutes for two different calls. .

Becoming a statistic having a medical emergency with no ability to reach out for help is no longer an issue My long distance family is also relieved I wear it all times. My only displeasure is it's size. That is based on my ego, peace of mind for me and those I love is more importany.

I have used the service for a month. Only needed to use the alert to conduct tests weekly. The response time has decreased to about 30 seconds. The agent is always very helpful when responding and reseting the system.

They now have the Medical Guardian emergency alert service for home and while away from home.

Do to the weather we received your product about 10 days after it was sent, but we understand that. We opened the box it came in and had trouble figuring out what we had. You sent 2 copies of a service contract we were told to make sure it was correct, it was, then we were to return it to you in an envelope you supposedly sent, but there was no envelope. I found a address which I hope was the right one and sent it off. We called the number to set up the machine but it was too late and need to call on Monday. There wasn't any thing that explained what we received, hopefully we got some of it right.

The system arrived in a timely manner. It was easy to set up. My mom has tested the system and within less than 30 seconds received a call. She says the "watch" is light and she no longer even notices it being on her wrist. The operator or customer service agent was easy to talk with, easy to understand and most helpful.

Product is good. Some of the responders do not speak clearly and it sounds scratchy. Please make sure all responders speak slowly and clearly for the hard of fearing clients. Charging the unit is easy. I had trouble with delivery because I was promised 2 day delivery and it was not communicated to fed ex. I finally got it in a week.

When our equipment arrived and I tried to get everything properly connected (steps 2 and 3), I did not receive clear guidelines from the technical adviser on the phone. I was transferred to a 2nd more senior person who contradicted the instructions of the 1st contact. I may have incorrectly connected the wires from the phone jack but the techies should have been able to figure that out! Finally, tech #2 decided that the console was defective (there was constant static on the console) and organized sending me a replacement at no charge. When it arrived, I got yet another technical person who very carefully told me exactly what to do with the wiring and the system worked fine. I subsequently had some additional questions that I listed online. The person who replied answered my 3 queries clearly and succinctly, and most important, correctly. Now everything (finally!) is working well and I think I understand what I'm doing. All this seemed unnecessarily complicated for a simple hook up.
