For one thing I picked it because it was something that I could afford. It also wasn't connected to my phone service and that's something I wanted. I haven't used it yet, but I'm not real steady on my feet and I've had had strokes before where I ended up falling, so that's why I thought I'd get it. The button is simple and easy to use.
I just picked them out from the internet and usually I just have everything set up on my little end table. There hasn't been an emergency where I needed to use it, but it's a convenient thing to have.
My daughter in law was the one that picked it. Both her mother and I are 90 and 89 years old and we live on our own. That's why she thought we should have one of these. The button has gone off twice before while I was eating breakfast. As soon as I bumped the thing I got an answer from them. Later I learned that that happened because the cord was too long, so my son went and shortened it for me. Now it sits at a good length. I'd like to know if I actually have to wear it all the time or if I can take it off.

They would call my son all the time to notify him of falls when that wasn't necessary and he was getting quite upset about it. After those experiences I decided that I wanted something that wouldn't notify him unless they had checked in with me to make sure it was an actual emergency. That's how I ended up going with Medical Guardian. I have some concerns with the lanyard though. It doesn't stay in place, I have to keep tightening it during the day and I've set it off accidentally a couple of times because it gets too low. I mean, it worked that time it went off and they were very nice about it all, but I'm not too happy with the lanyard.
We picked it since it had good ratings and they offered a wireless connection. We didn't need to have a landline to have it all plugged in. The wireless connection is awesome, it has a backup battery system in it. If the phone line goes down or if there's any fail in that system, we can still communicate and get help through the wireless connection. When we got it, customer support talked us through everything and made sure things were working correctly. They even stayed with us while we tested the button to make sure it worked. We actually tried it twice just to make sure that there were no glitches or bugs in the system. It was all fully functional when we finished. When we test it, we get an answer in a good amount of time. The button is just comfortable and everything is very user friendly and very easy to set up. I like having a person available all the time that can help my mother in law if she needs it.
The ratings convinced me of getting it. I wear it everyday and haven't had any problems with the button, it works. Every time I've called them, they've been there for me.
Since they had the best price and equipment I ordered it for my mom. My order came with the bracelet, the necklace, and the GPS system that they have. I reviewed 6 or 7 different services and since they had good reviews and seemed to be priced reasonably, I went with it. We had a lot of trouble in the very beginning and I'm hoping that all of that is over. Still, things have been good. Luckily I haven't had to use it yet, but it makes me feel better to have it.
I liked that I had the option of wearing a wrist button instead of wearing the thing around my neck. I've never had to use it and, to be honest, a lot of the time I even forget to put it on. Still, I'm happy with what I got.

I didn't really decide on it, my sister did that. Since I got it I had one fall. It worked well, I pressed the button and called the rescue squad. It did what I wanted it to do.

The information that I found online was what convinced me of getting it. I wear the wristband all the time and I take the box unit with me when I leave the house. Customer service has been pretty good. Anytime I've accidentally tripped, the alarm goes off and they answer quite quickly. I just let them know that it's not really an emergency and things are alright. They've also notified my son a couple of times when the battery of the button is low.
The old service I had didn't go very far from where I lived and my kids wanted me to be able to go anywhere. That's why I took Medical Guardian. I haven't had any falls yet but I'm glad I have it since I'm 97 and I live out in the country. I haven't had to call them, but I've hit the button against the bar several times already while I'm working. They always call me immediately to see if I'm alright and I'm very pleased about that. They're just very dependable, they're right on the ball.

I just talked about it with my daughters and we decided this one would work well. We haven't run into any problems with the button, it works fine.
We got family in St. Charles and, after my sister passed away, they didn't want me to live by myself. I had fallen several times before, once I even ended up going to the emergency room because of it. I had a bad fall and took a painful hit. So, when I heard about this advertised on television, I thought it would be best to get it. I think it's all really good. You never know when you're going to fall or when something might happen. With this you can have someone there right away instead of having to wait for hours on the floor.
