Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $249.95. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.

Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

I read about other services and I just decided to get them since they had the best offer and were the most reliable ones. I've only really tested it and it works ok. The service and the people are good, I'm very comfortable with everything. I'm glad I have it in case of emergency.
I decided to get something like this since I live alone. I just picked Medical Guardian. On a typical day I put it on in the morning and go about doing whatever I need to do, whether that's golfing, going to the gym, going to a restaurant, or whatever. The button is larger and bulkier than what I'd like it to be. I've never had to use it but I've tested it a couple of times to see if it knows where I am and it really didn't know. When I visited Davis in California it had my location wrong by about a mile and a quarter. I think it's probably related to the fact that AT&T is the one that services them, so coverage is not always great.
I compared them to others and thought Medical Guardian was the best deal, so I went with them. I haven't used it for anything other than testing it to make sure that it works. It all seems to be working well, the button hasn't given me any problems and they are always available.
I did a lot of research and from all of them Medical Guardian was the best fit for me, especially since it works almost like a cellphone. Luckily I haven' had to use it, but I have a rheumatoid arthritis and have taken a couple of falls where I couldn't get back up on my own. There's always a chance that I'll fall again, and since my husband passed it's best for me to have this. The button is small enough to carry it comfortably, though I usually have the one that looks like a mini cellphone with me. I can take that anywhere I want and as long as I'm within a 640 ft range from it they'll be able to hear me if I hit the button. The price is good. It's like $39 a month and even if I don't use it much I'm grateful to have it if something happens.
My son and I did some research and picked them. I wear it around my neck, though I haven't had to use it. Still, whenever we've tested the machine everything has worked well and customer service has been really good too.
I research online and compared different companies. They seemed like they would serve my needs best. I haven't really used it and I don't wear it much, but I think they're fine.
I live alone so I thought I'd get it in case I fall or need to get help in a hurry. I keep it around all the time, 24 hours of the day. I trust that I can get help if I call for it.
My daughter bought it for me. They've responded immediately every time I used it. One day I was doing work in the backyard and fell backwards. I pushed the alarm and as soon as I did that the alarm went off in the house and my daughter was able to come out and help me.
I found them through research and thought they'd be great to get. My aunt is blind and she has been living on her own so the system is a great tool that gives us all a sense of security. They've always come through for us, even when there's false alarms. The button is easy to use and we think they're great. The only thing is that the price is a little steep for us since we're on a fixed income. Still, the service is worth it.
I heard about it on television and decided to get it. Fortunately I've never had to use it. I've hit the button accidentally and, every time I've done that, they give me a call to know if I'm ok. They have always been there for me. The only problem I have with it is that I'm never sure if the button is actually charging or not when I plug it in. Also, I've heard of other devices that are much cheaper.

Randolph, we're happy to be there for you when you need us. When your Mobile Guardian is properly inserted into its cradle, the cradle has a light that will illuminate to tell you that the unit has been placed correctly and is charging. You should be able to fully charge your unit in 2 hours time. Your unit will not overcharge so you are free to leave it in the cradle when you are at home and simply make use of your neck pendant. Feel free to reach back out if you have any additional questions about your unit. Have a lovely week!
I had a medical alert program before and I was trying to find it again. Since I couldn't find the paperwork for them, I went for the next best thing, which was Medical Guardian. I've never had to use it, but I wear it in case I fall. It's a handy thing to have. I've checked it a couple of times too and the people are always very prompt, courteous, and seem genuinely concerned about me.
When I first got it I was hoping that I could use it outside, since that's where I've taken most of my falls. It turns out that that's not really the case. The device doesn't really have a GPS feature in it, so now I'm thinking about switching programs. Still, in the time I've had it, I used it once when I fell in the shower and couldn't get up. I pressed the button and the operator tried to call my neighbors but they just couldn't understand. I think she was talking too fast and seemed excited or something. In the end they called the ambulance and they got here at about the same time. From that I know that it works well inside the house. Whenever I press the button and they call me they make sure to first check if I actually need help or not.

Grace, we thank you for the review. The good news is that your Mobile Guardian unit is in fact made for use in the home and on the go. We'll have a member of our Customer Care team reach out to discuss using your device to make sure you are getting the most out of your unit. Have a good afternoon!
The main reasons I got Medical Guardian were that they had a great interface, their equipment was easy to use, and the range that the devices had was good. Thankfully we have not had to use it yet, but typically I wear it during the day. We've had no issues with it, it's a very light and manageable button. It's not complicated at all. Every time I've called them with any issue or question, they've been responsive. I don't really have to wait long to talk to them either.
I didn't really decide on getting it, my kids did that. I don't use it too much while I'm at home, but I do wear it when I go to the senior citizen group that I go to. I'm sure it's worthy having it in case I ever need it.
I used to have another service before, but that one wouldn't let me take it along with me when I traveled. With this one, I can take it in my leather case with me when I go and visit my children, which is excellent. This is also cheaper. Luckily I haven't had to use it, there hasn't been an emergency or anything when I needed it. I've only called to check it to make sure it's all working. I like that the button is compact and that I can call them to make sure that it's working. I know there's always someone there who will answer right away to make sure that everything is alright.
At the time I just needed to have a medical alert system very badly. They were really the only service that I had information so I got it. It makes me feel very secure, I wear it all the time, except during the night that is. Usually I tie it to my walker, which is right next to me bed, so it's close to me all the time. They've saved my life twice already. On one occasion I had blood clogs in my lungs and knee. I fell on the floor and I couldn't breath well. I called them and they came here in a reasonable amount of time. They took me to the hospital and we got there in no time. The people that came were very knowledgeable and proficient. I wouldn't have made it if I hadn't had it. It really saved my life.
From the ratings and feedback that I saw, they seemed to have more of a comprehensive service. I accidentally pressed the button a couple of times. On one of those occasions I was out at a restaurant but they just couldn't find me. They had to dial my number and get a hold of me. I guess the GPS just didn't work right out there'
I compared several companies that offered similar services and felt that Medical Guardian offered the best value. We've had to call emergency services on several occasions. When my mother in law took a fall and couldn't get up on her own, she called for help from Medical Guardian. They sent out a medical team, helped her get up, and checked on her vitals before leaving to make sure she was alright. This was all free of charge and they didn't have to take her to the hospital. I think that they could be priced more economically, especially since there were other vendors out there that had better pricing. Maybe they cut in some areas, but in general it's fulfilling our needs.
I usually put it on in the morning while I'm in my condo. I've never had to use it, but they called me once because they thought I had pressed the button by mistake or something. I know that this will get me help when I need it. I don't mind wearing the device around my neck when I'm around my house. When I leave though I take my cellphone with me because I don't think the device will help me. If I could have something in the future that could travel with me when I go in my car, that would be better.

My son looked it up online and they were the one he chose. I've never had to use it, sometimes I even forget to test it, but I haven't run into any trouble with it either. I did change the necklace pendant from the cord to a stainless steel chain. That way I don't even notice I have it on.
From the information that they provided, and after comparing them to the others, they just seemed to be the best one out there. Customer support is fine. I've never had to use it on a real emergency, but I check it from time to time to make sure that they can cover my location.
We saw the advertisement and decided to get it. We haven't had any problems with the necklace or the service itself.
I picked them for my mother in law because of the coverage they have. She travels all the time to see her daughters and sons, so we really needed something that would be available no matter where she was. Be it the Midwest, Florida, Hawaii, or Alaska, we needed one unit that would work everywhere. We haven't had to use it but we haven't run into any glitches or problems with the system. When I've called them about different things, or when I just want to check in with them every month, they're always very helpful and pleasant. It is kind of expensive, but the comfort and security that we get with it is good.
The service was chosen by my children. This button just had the most coverage and things that I could use. It can track me wherever I go and still let me contact them. I had an emergency call where I needed them. They called the designated numbers that I gave them and got me help. They had trained technical people come get me and they took me to the hospital.
I moved out to the country and since I'm over 65 I needed to have something in case I need it. I like the device since it connects directly to a phone line. I've never had to use it and sometimes I even forget to take it with me when I leave. Still, they've been really helpful. Though I haven't really contacted or been contacted by them in the past 6 months or so.
We saw it on television, that was what hooked us. We got it mostly for my wife on account of how much she falls. She's totally blind and, if anything were to happen to me or to her, the GPS thing can pinpoint where we are and we can get help at any time. It's with us all the time, 24/7, and we've had no problems with it. When we have to call them, everybody has been very supportive. We've never had to use it and we're actually quite happy about that. I do think they're very trustworthy. Anytime we've tested it, it has worked alright. There's always somebody on the line right away and they ask you if there's a problem or if it's just a test. It's a good thing to have. I don't think you can put a value on it since it's like a lifeline for us.
They're one of the best ones out there, that's why I got it.
I looked it up and since it was listed as one of the best ones I went with it. The pricing that I got for the first year was ok. So far we have not had to use it but they've always done exactly what they're supposed to when I test it. I haven't had a problem with it. My first year with them has been fine, though I'm still waiting to see how the second one will be like.
After looking at some reviews, I decided to go with them. I wear the device around my neck so I don't really think about it much. Every time I've needed it, they've responded.
Howard & Nita
I looked online and since they had the best reviews I got them. I've never really used them though.
After doing some research I learned that they offered more than other companies, so I signed up. So far they've replied quickly and get the paramedics out to my house rapidly. They answer my questions whenever I have concerns and they're always available. Besides, the button is easy to use.
I have not had to use it yet, but so far things have been good. I've been satisfied with the button, it's a comfortable thing to wear and it meets my needs. The people I've talked to have been very nice too. Everything has worked out fine.
I did my research and they just seemed to have a good record. I also liked the fact that it was possible to use it in any part of the United States. That's why I signed up with them. So far I haven't had to use it, thank god, but they've called me before. In fact, I'll get calls every now and then to make sure that everything is working and they've always been very nice about it. They just keep in touch with me. It gives me a measure of comfort to have it.
I got something in the mail from them at the right time. Back then I was often alone at home, so when I got their thing in the mail I filled up the information and send it their way. When my son came back I told him about it and he agreed that it was a good idea so, whenever they reached out to us, we completed the sign up and got it. There was one time I had to use it when I fell outside. I couldn't really set off the alarm since the button was out of reach from the base, but I was able to get a little boy to help me out. He was walking by and I called him and gave him my button, told him to go in and just push it to get me some help. Within 10 minutes, they sent out the firefighters and they helped me out. They were here immediately. They are very reliable.
I had passed out at my own home and they found me and got me to the hospital. After that, my daughter went and put me on it which I guess it's good since I'm almost 72 years old. I've never had to use it, but I'm sure it's alright.
Since they were highly rated on Amazon and on the internet, we decided to go with it. I use it whenever I go out, especially if it's snowing or if I'm going out to play golf. I haven't had to use it, but I know it works. I once set it off while I was working out with a machine. The apparatus usually pushes against my back, but on that occasion it was facing my chest and pushed the button. It worked and they called.
The company is fine. Their customer service is pretty good.
I just did a google search and they were recommended on the site I looked at. That's how I got it. I like the idea that anybody in my family can use it. I have two different gadgets that I can press if any issue comes up. Every time I've needed to talk to someone they were able to answer my questions.
I just wear it every day, there's really nothing special about it. I haven't even used it, though we're having a hard time contacting customer service.
Basically, I got it because of the ratings it had. On top of that, I also got a great deal with them. One time, the thing that I wore wasn't working, it would just go off even though I wasn't doing anything. When I called them, they got it all replaced within a day and took care of everything.
It was the most reasonable service and the one that made the most sense for my mother to have since she lives in a rural area. It provides service there and the button is not humongous. She can wear it around her neck alright. It's a very convenient service. Every time I've called to get help they have been very helpful.
My daughter decided to get it. I wear it all the time and even though I haven't had to use it, the button does its job. Customer service answers every time I accidentally bump the button. They're right on the ball every time.
I just looked things up on the internet and thought they would be good to get for my mother. She has memory problems and since she insists on staying in her apartment on her own, I got it in case she fell and needed help. When we got it we thought that things would work out alright. My mom lives in a small two-bedroom apartment, so it's not a big place. We put the central unit, kind of the heart of the thing, in the center of the apartment. We were some 10 ft from the unit when we did our test call and they girl that responded couldn't hear us at all. If they can't hear us when we're that distance away, what would happen if my mother were to fall? They'll just send over help regardless of whether or not she needs it because they can't hear us. That was a major disappointment. They don't listen to what we have to say. It also takes forever for us to get through to a customer service person. On top of that, they just hang up on you or disconnect your call instead of asking you if you'd like to continue waiting. When my contract runs out next month I'll be looking for a different service.
The freedom that it gave me was the main reason I got it. I wear it when my son is not around since he's my primary care giver. I get the support that I need all the time and having it makes me feel more secure. It is a little expensive to be honest, I've been thinking about changing companies because of that.
I picked them because they had the best offer. I use it every day and have no concerns about it. It has done exactly what it is supposed to do.
My daughter was the one that decided to get it. I wear it all the time but I haven't needed to call them. Overall it's good though.
I wear the watch all the time and, if I have to go further than my yard, I take the control unit with me. The button is very responsive to touch and easy to carry around. Once I pushed the button by accident and they were very patient about that. On another occasion, I was out shopping and I had it in my purse. I had no idea I pushed it and eventually I found out that they were following me from one store to another and I even beat them to my own home. I was really sorry about that, but I'm happy having it.
Our daughter did the research and came up with them as the best company out there. I've never had to use it, but I guess overall it's alright.
I got it for my mother in law who is 93 years old. We've only had to use it once and it actually saved her life. She fell in her garage and broke both her hip and her wrists. She was able to use the button and they were very prompt about responding and getting the paramedics out to help her. They also called me as I was her emergency contact and I was able to go over as well. She ended up needing a hip replacement but has been doing well since.
At the time I had a different service that would only work within my house. After reading their brochure I thought that if I was going to spend as much money as I was spending, I might as well get something that could go further than my home. That's why I decided to try them. I wear it around my neck all the time, but I'd like it to have a chain or something like that for the necklace instead of the black cord. It's not very attractive. I can take it with me wherever I go. If I go visit my daughters I can just notify them and plug the little receptor at their place. I can use it anywhere inside the United States and it'll work, it'll notify someone if I need help. Sometimes I forget to take the monitor with me whenever I go out though. I've been trying to get better about that lately but I guess that's the one thing I don't like about it. I haven't had any reason to call them. Though one time, after the electricity in my place went out, I wanted to ask some things about that. I called them with the button and they gave me a service number that I could call since it wasn't really an emergency. When I called them, they answered my questions and things were alright.
