Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $99. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.

The Freedom Guardian has various features to aid your health and safety as well as additional perks. Here are a few of the Freedom Guardian features to be aware of:
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

Recently I went through a divorce. Around that time a good friend of mine had a heart attack and that made me think about my own situation. I live alone and even though I'm in good health at my age, I thought I needed to have something to get help if anything happened. After a bit of research I found Medical Guardian and I decided to contact them and got it. I have not had to use it, but I wear it everyday and don't even notice that it's there. I drive a lot to go to work, so take it with me in case I ever need it. I also do my monthly checks and people are always nice. Anytime I had questions, they were always good about helping me and putting my worries at ease. I couldn't ask for anything more from them.
I got it as a gift from my daughter since I live on my own. The button is easy to use. I have the wrist band on me everyday. When summer time comes I may switch to the necklace since I don't want it to show too much. I tried calling them and it took quite a while before I could get through to someone. I just wanted to check on the button because one of the lights came on, but I didn't know why. It took a good 15 minutes before I got a response.

Rod, thank you for the review. Generally speaking, you should be able to reach one of our highly trained operators in under one minute. We will be reaching out shortly to look into your particular case.
My daughter was the one that happened to read about it. She liked the sound of it and since I'm in Florida and I live on my own she wanted me to have it as safety. I'm 89 and I do a lot of walking, usually just a couple of miles, so I take it with me when I do that. I feel much safer walking with it, even if it's just inside my condo. Usually, I put it around my neck in case something happens, even while I'm in bed at night. I depend on it so much.
I just googled things and found them. I like the range it has, I can take it outside with me. The button is very comfortable and everything seems to be working great so far. We've called in to do some testing and every time everyone has been very quick to respond and very friendly.
I picked them out from the internet for my mother, that was it. She used it once when she was feeling ill and couldn't get to the phone. They were very responsive and called me. She also accidentally touched the button once and they were good about that. I think it does its job.
They were just the first ones I called. I have the necklace on all the time. I've used it once and it worked very well. They call me every once in a while to see how I'm doing. They've helped me reset the thing and are just a good bunch of people.
I heard good things about it, so I just got it for my mother. I know it works. A lot of times they will call her when she doesn't need it. Though there was one time she did need them and they were there for her.
The coverage they offered and the price were the main reasons I picked it. I've never had to use it, thank god. I've had no problems with them, though I'm still waiting to get a callback this month.

Marty, we're happy you haven't needed to use one of our devices yet either! We will make sure to have a member of our Customer Care team reach out to address your needs. Have a great day!
My daughter found it for me. She investigated everywhere and decided this one would be best for me. I haven't had to use it yet but when I called them to check in on the button everyone was very nice. I'm pleased to have it.
If I press the button, customer support comes right on and respond. The service is extraordinarily expensive.
We've had to use it twice. My husband has had a stroke and he fell in his in his bedroom and I could not hear him because I was at the other end of the house and so he pushed that he was able to reach his necklace and he pushed a button and I heard the intercom then which is in our living room say you know help is on the way and then I ran in there and he was on the floor but had he not had that to push I don't know how long he would lay there. They're just very dependable always there and I'm so happy that we did this and now my husband is in a nursing home and now I wear one of the necklaces that we were given so I don't know if the if I keep both necklaces it's still the same price if I would send one back is it less price or.

Thank you for reaching out. We're happy that we've been able to be there for you and your husband when you needed us. Regarding pricing now that your husband is in a nursing home, we would like to look at your account to help answer your question. Would you be willing to help us locate your account? Any information you share in your response won't be posted to . It will only be shared directly with Medical Guardian. If you could provide us with you and your husband's full names and any other identifying information (i.e. address or phone number), we can look into your case more thoroughly. Thanks again for reaching out and we hope you have a great day!
I decided on it because I could take it with me, I didn't have to have it just in the house. The necklace the one you put around your neck, that got of twisted and I couldn't untwist it so I had to cut the necklace part off and I that way I have to carry it around in my pocket. I can access them quickly, its easy to use.
It had the best benefits for the best price. I've never had to use it I mean we test it once a month and all but we never used it. Anytime we've ever had questions or called or any concerns are all they've answered all the questions and taking care of everything. I think its very efficient I mean it works every time you know and one time my mom some reason it had malfunctioned and like reported a call.
They answered right away when I accidentally bumped it. No I like it, I feel safe with it. I don't worry when I have it on because I know they will answer.
I didn't know any other services other than Medical Guardian, so I went with it. The only time we've called customer service was when we set it all up. Things went just fine. I do wish I could have something a little bit smaller that my dad could wear around his neck. It's just really big and bulky right now.
I saw them advertised somewhere and decided to go with it. So far everything has been ok, though I haven't had a chance to use it.
Someone else decided to get it for me. I have not had to use it yet, but the equipment all seems to be compatible with each other.
I got it for my mother since it had everything she needed. She had just had hip replacement and lived by herself, so I wanted it to give us both some peace of mind. I needed to get it almost by the next day since I was traveling to see her. They ended up making a mistake on the delivery and the package didn't get to me on time. Long story short though, they responded, took care of the situation, and gave me a good discount for it. Their customer service was just superb.
I think my daughter was the one that did some research and came up with them as the best company for us. I used it when I fell and had to get the paramedics out here. I received the help that I needed.
Whenever we test the button to see if it's working, they're always right there.
The company that I use recommended this for my mother, so I got it for her. She wears it every day since it's easy to use and small. So far we've had no problems or concerns about it.
My daughter picked it out for me while I was in rehab. I just wanted to make sure that there was something in my house I could use as soon as I got back. I wear it everyday now and I know that if I do fall, I can just press the button to get help.
I used to have a different button and that one just kept breaking down. I couldn't count on it as far as I knew, so I switched to Medical Guardian. I've been very happy with it so far. If I have any problem at all, they address it immediately. They're very considerate of my needs. I've never really had to use it for anything other than checking it to make sure it works but I wear it all the time. I think it's worth the price.
When we called them to get more information about the program we were very satisfied with what they gave us. They had what we needed, so we just got it. We've only used it to check in with them. It only took them a few minutes to respond to see if there was any problem. We just had to tell them it was a check in and that was that. If we were to need them, I'm sure they'd be there for us.
My kids picked it out for me and I use it all the time.
It was recommended by a friend, so I got it for my brother. He had a stroke a while ago, so now he wears it when he leaves the house to go on walks. I've only had to called customer service once and things went fine. I just think it's great. Being the care giver at home, it really helps me feel comfortable to know that he's protected when he's out walking.
I read lots of reviews before settling on them. I haven't had to use it yet, but I know they will send me help when I need it.
The price convinced me of getting it. It seems good so far.
The mobile device convinced me of getting it. I like that I can go outside my home with it. Though it is a little slow.
I saw it advertised somewhere and decided to give it a try. I haven't had to use it, but so far it seems to be just fine.
After doing research and reading reviews, I settled on them. When I was hooking everything up they helped me a lot. Thankfully I haven't had to use it yet but the button seems to work well.
I picked them from the services recommended online. When I got everything set up they were very informative. The button is very convenient, I can even take it into the shower with me.
They were the only company that I was aware of that offered these services. Every time I've called, someone answers. I'm happy to have it in case I need it.
I just saw the advertisements on TV and, since I was getting to a point where I needed them, I got it. I have the bracelet, the pendant, and a smaller unit that I can put in my purse. That one I carry with me when I'm away from home. They're all very simple and easy to assemble. I had an episode where my son needed help so I used it to call them. They were on the phone with me right away and stayed on the line. They made sure I was the right person and gave me the best service they could. As a senior citizen on a fixed income, this service is financially easier to pay for and manage. I feel very secure with it.
The doctor recommended it for my mom when she was in the hospital, so we got it for her. She uses it everyday. The only time I talked to customer support was during the set up and they were very helpful. The button looks good, but we dropped it once to test it and see if the alarm went off as if she had tripped and it didn't.
I live by myself and my daughter wanted me to have protection while I'm here alone, so I got this. I wear it every day, though I haven't had to use it yet. Still, I'm happy with the service I get.
I got it since the mobile unit covers a lot. The instructions to set it all up were very clear and it was easy for me to do it. I wear it everyday and it's quite comfortable. I feel quite secure with it.
I got it as a gift from my daughters. I've never had to use it, but I like it very much and wear it everyday. I'm sure I'll have assistance if I ever need it.
We have it because we basically live in the middle of the woods in Oregon. My husband only goes out of town for business so I needed to have something for those occasions. I haven't had to use it, but I've tested it a couple of times and someone always responds. I feel confident in that there's someone there to answer me if I need them and that gives me a sense of security. If I do need help, they'll be there for me.
I live alone and needed to have something in case I fell or got hurt, so I just kind of picked the company. For the money that I'm paying I think it's an ok service. I might have to cancel it though since I can barely pay for it right now.
I looked online and, according to consumer ratings, they had the best scores from all the mobile medical alert systems available at the time, so I went with them. They're just about average to be honest. I have one button that works only while I'm at home and I take the other one with me when I'm away from home. I've only really used it for testing purposes or when I sat on the button accidentally. It does take them a long time to respond when I press the button. It's not really an immediate response.

My son got it for me for my birthday. He made sure to pick a company that I would be comfortable with, even though he lives in another state. I wear the necklace and always put it on first thing in the morning. I feel secure and comfortable having them.
They were the simplest company to go with. Customer service has been responsive when I call them with questions. Typically I wear the button when no one's at home or if I'm going some place by myself. Though there are times when I'm not sure if the button is working.

Jim, thank you for the review. We're happy to be able to offer you a simple solution that meets your needs. We will have a member of our Customer Care team reach out to ensure that your button is working as it should.
I went with it since the wristband and the price seemed to be right for me. I haven't had to use it yet, but I wear it everyday. It's a convenient thing to have.
It was a combination of things that convinced me of getting this for my mother. Anytime I've talked to them they've answered my questions well. The people are also happy to help you run tests with it to make sure that it's all working. Even the salesman wasn't pushy at all, they let me make my own decision and gave me all the information that I needed to make it. The day that my mother fell and broke her arm, she was able to hit the button and call for help. I got a call from Guardian and a few minutes later I got a call from the local police saying that they had taken her to the hospital. I met them there and everything was alright. It worked like a charm and I was really glad that she had it.
I didn't really decide to get this, my brother did. I researched the top ten medical alert companies for myself. The top two were Medical Guardian and another one I can't remember. I gave my brother the name and information of the two and he chose Medical Guardian. The button is easy to charge and use. I use it all the time when I'm at home. Whenever I go out I make sure that I have it on me in case I don't have my cell phone on me. I sometimes put it under my clothes and the button gets pushed without a warning. They're always good about that when it happens. Whenever I call with questions, they answer them and are very polite. Whenever I've taken a fall, they've been there to help me.
I researched and picked this one out from the top 10 for my mom. We've tested it to check that it's working. They've always been helpful when we call. So far things have been good.
I'm 84 years old and I'm retired, so on a typical day I don't do much. Since I live alone, having it keeps me in touch with my medical people and my doctor. If I got to go to the hospital, all I have to do is push the button and they'll get me an ambulance out here quickly. Whenever I need to get in touch with them they're always courteous and get me good information.
Initially the service was purchased as a gift for my husband but he has since passed away. We did use it to call an ambulance for him when we needed it. They were extremely fast and took no time in sending an ambulance over. They didn't ask any questions, they just sent them out.
We did extensive research online and we settled on this service. The button is easy to get used to and I don't even notice that I'm wearing it when I have the wristband or the necklace on me. I have it close by 24/7. I have not had to use it in an emergency yet, but I test it every two months or so. When I do that it takes a very long time before I get through to an operator. I'm very worried about that...
