Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $99. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.
Medical Guardian has a new high-tech medical alert device that is a smartwatch for seniors called The Freedom Guardian. This new medical alert watch is designed to be sleek and convenient to wear every day. The Freedom Guardian doesn't need a base unit to connect to, and you can wear it with you anywhere you go.
Caregivers or family members can download the Companion mobile app to communicate with Freedom Guardian wearers at any time as well as track their current location.
The Freedom Guardian has various features to aid your health and safety as well as additional perks. Here are a few of the Freedom Guardian features to be aware of:
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

How is Medical Guardian’s medical alert service different than calling 9-1-1?
In emergencies, you don’t always have access to a phone. Having a medical alert system means you can request help at any time with the press of a button. Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

Earlier this year I had a fall where I injured myself, that was when I decided that I needed something like this. The second time I fell I decided I didn't want to spend the rest of the night on the floor after that, so I thought I'd better get someone to help me out. Especially since I live by myself. I called a couple of other companies and Medical Guardian seemed to be the most proactive at answering the phone. They didn't try to force an agreement with me, they just answered my questions. I've had it for less than a month so I haven't had to use it as of yet. Still, it's all well worth the time, effort, and money that I've spent on it. It's convenient for me.
I discovered them on the internet and decided to get it for my mother. She actually hasn't had to use it yet but we like that the device is simple to use. The gentleman that took care of our account's set up was great.
I went with it because of the price. On a typical day I just wear the thing, though I've never had to use it. Customer service is very helpful and knowledgeable. They knew what I needed. The device doesn't seem to get in the way and I don't accidentally set it off with the pressure or anything.
My daughter got it for me and she found it on her computer. I usually leave the bracelet on all the time while I'm in my apartment. I haven't really had it long enough to actually use it. Customer service has been very kind and just full of information.
Since my husband travels all the time and I had had an episode before I got it, I decided to get something like this. We did a bit of research and I liked the fact that I didn't have to sign a contract. I had been having some health issues so, if those issues changed, that meant that I could cancel and I wouldn't be forced to stay because of some long term contract. I also liked the ease of everything, it was all pretty straightforward. I haven't had to use it but I do carry it with me at all times. I have the one that has a GPS so even if I'm out shopping or anything and I have an emergency, I could dial for someone to help me right there. From the testing I've done and stuff I know that the device works and that someone will answer right away. It makes me feel a lot more safe, especially during this time of the year when I shop and there's a lot of car accidents. I haven't found any hidden anything. Everyone I've spoken to has been very helpful and courteous. My experiences have been positive.
I think the price was what convinced me. On a typical day my wife will go out to take the dog to the groomer, grocery shop, or just go out with her girl friends for a while. In the meantime I'm here by myself. We've only had it for a month and so far it has been ok.
I was already inundated with heart monitors so I couldn't have anything else on my chest. They were the first company that I found that could provide me with a risk alarm that I could wear on my wrist. I've never had to use it but apparently I hit the button once accidentally. They called me about it and were very pleasant and accommodating. I just explained the situation to them and things were perfectly okay. They did keep me on the phone for a few minutes asking me a lot of questions to make sure I was fine. I was very much impressed by that.
Helpful conversation on the telephone when I called for information. Other than that there has been no need for contact.
No problem and it has traveled out of town with me. Since it is Winter I have no problem with the "necklace". However I may have to find another as Summer approaches.
Joseph F was wonderful to deal with. The activation system was a bit confusing and could be improved.
I was very disappointed in just the first week of use, that just by pressing a great grocery bag against my chest caused it to go off, and since i am disabled couldnt answer the home and cell phones quickly. So you then called my spouse ( first time so she didnt have your number plugged into her cell phone yet, therefore, not Recognizing the number didn't immediately answer as she was on the phone. However, she did call you back within just 1-2 minutes but was told the ambulance was already enroute to my home. It seems the design of the button could be better. I understand the need to allow easy access, but still feel it could be better designed so as not to so easily set off!!
i got fall dection for I fall alot due to parkensons cust service is great u need to train people better i I understood the fall dection isnt 100 % accurate but I didnt execpt 0% accuracy. I fell many times with the thing around my neck and it never went off.fell on nose never went off but broke and cracked front tooth. i called to test it and it still didnt go off so I asked for the cancelation dept there a guy said how about a new one that we shall test before sending out i said ok we shall see. new one is charing as i type
Seems to work as advertised, although it is a little expensive
Do not have long enough to rate but when button is pushed the voice does not come on right away and in an emergency seconds count.
In the short time that I have been a customer of Med Guardian I am very pleased with the products I have received including the wristband, necklace and emergency box. I tested it to make sure the system was working properly and it is fine. Hopefully, I won't need to use it, but having it in my possession has given me assurance that I will get immediate attention. Delivery of the Guardian was prompt.
I haven ‘t had to use MG’s emergency services, but I have talked to their operators a few times and they are very responsive and knowledgeable. I also like the pendulum which I wear at all times.
You delivered exactly as promised which we appreciate. Everything was simple to set up. Your representative was really wonderful. Thank you
To date, I have simply had it on e, which does give me some peace of mind.
The device works well and the folks at the call center are always friendly and courteous.
I feel like I have someone with me all the time.I can go anywhere with the GPS system and feel safe.
I only rated it 3 stars for right now because my mother just started using it. I do know that I get an inordinate amount of phone calls from the company. Most of these calls relate to our satisfaction with the product. Enough already! I do get help when I talk to someone in Customer Service and they are very polite.
Unfortunately I have had to use my medical guardian two times because I needed assistance. I received assistance in a matter of minutes. I was very relieved. I am 77 and still trying to live alone and medical guardian gives my children some comfort knowing EMT's will be called and be here for me way before they could be here to help me. I am very happy. installation was very easy and I can take this with me if I go somewhere else to stay.
Representatives on the phone were very informative and helpful
My husband and I have not had to use the alert button on our necklaces to this point, but feel very confident when wearing them. The set up was extremely easy, and the lock box is a plus.
All quiet on the Western front so far at 8400 feet. And hopefully will remain so. Good service so far. No reason not to buy.
I feel safer having accessibility to the Guardian button. However, There was a problem with getting my unit set up so that it worked, and although everyone I talk to was very helpful, it took way too long to get it set up. They finally sent me a new unit. And today I got a call saying that I need to send the old unit back, which I’m certainly willing to do, but no one’s ever told me where to send it or whether you pay the postage. So, it’s a mediocre start.
I really love it. I like that it is affordable, you don't need a land line, you are covered inside & outside & you have a lock box for your house key. it's very important to have the lock box. If & when you press the button & if you are unable to open your door, if you don't have the lock box, then whomever they send would have to break your door down.
I talked with most of the best reviewed companies and Medical Guardian was the best over all. the helped me to decide the best plan for me and there was no pressure at any time. They have the best prices and are highly reviewed and recommended. I am totally happy with my decision to use them and would recommend them to anyone looking for this kind of system.
So far have had no problems with my gps alert at all. Service is great and GPS works perfectly. Was hoping charge would last longer than 3 days but as I am extremely active I guess I use more GPS signal power than a sedentary individual? Truthfully it really only takes about 3 hours to fully charge so that is excellent! Highly recommend this brand for anyone considering one of these devices.
I did not have a good experience with medical guardian. After numerous tests I found out the AT&T signal in my area was very weak. This should have been determined by Medical Guardian during my first conversation with them. Then when I wanted to return the device I was told I would not get the full cost back and had to “fight” to get it back. Throughout this experience my sales rep never returned my calls or my emails to him. Medical Guardian may be top rated but it was of no value to me. I have since found another provider of another device.
I Thank God haven't had to use Medical Guardian but I can say that the staff members are very well trained to help and quick. My mobile unit went off by mistake and they were very quick with responding. I feel more secure now. The team is always there for anyone. Ty Medical Guardian
My kids got it for me. I've never had to use it since I just got it last month. I've just been wearing it. I guess that it's ok, I haven't had any problems or anything. They are very good.
I purchased it for my mother and they have been very responsive and nice to her. The device seems to be working just fine, and it covers what we need.
I have not used it yet. Still, they answer very accurately and clearly. The operators are very polite, courteous, and don't rush you. They are very helpful with anything you might want, even when you press the wrong button. The device is clear, precise, and I feel it's dependable for what I need it.
I never had to use it or anything. It was mostly in my way since we are in a rural area and couldn't get it hooked up. We just didn't get any signal. It wasn't a good deal for us. I had a lot of trouble trying to get it back to where it belonged.
So far so good, I got it a few months ago and it has been fabulous. It's just a relief to me. Its a way for me to work at home and worst case scenario all we've got to do is push the button and they'll take care of it for me. I haven't had to use it yet thank god, but they are good. They went out of their way to provide something for families and loved ones that can keep us from being alone if we have a heart attack. I haven't talked much to customer support but I'm sure I will and that we'll have a great relationship. Doesn't get much better than that.
I thought it was the best company for what I needed, plus it had some good reports and it was less costly than others. I just got the system so I really don't have much experience with it. We actually had to return it after it arrived since the box part was faulty, but they sent us a new one within 2 days. We were able to keep track of it and everything. They were very careful in following up with us after that initial problem. They were very helpful.

I saw it on the internet and decided to get it since it looked reasonable and the price was good. So far it has been pretty good for us. My husband uses the watch all the time. He has had the thing for two months or so but we haven't had to use it yet. They have been very attentive to us, especially when we set up the system and everything. My husband is a little deaf so he couldn't understand everything he had to do to set up everything. It didn't take him long to get everything set up, which I thought was very good. He did it himself. It's a comfort to have that device so he can get immediate care from emergency services.
We haven't used it, we just have it in case we ever need it. We have pushed the button accidentally several times though. Those times they have responded right away and handled everything well. Everything has gone well. Everything they said the thing would do, it has done. We're happy with it. It was all very easy to set up and use.
It was the right one for me. I don't use it much though, I just have it on my wrist and that's it. It makes me feel secure to have it though. I've tested it, of course, but that's it. Customer service has been very helpful and adapt well to us. I just feel more secure having it, I don't feel like I'm alone even if there's no one around the house. Though it is a little pricey.
I got it since I live by myself and I wanted to be sure I could have someone come if I needed it or had an emergency. I haven't fallen yet though.
It was actually provided to us for free through the place that we reside in. I've never had to use it at all. It seems to work fine but it's very loud. The only experience I ever had with customer service was when I signed up. I got the unit and called in to set it up. They were very, very nice and very helpful.
I found them through some advertisement so I got it for my wife. She wears it around her neck 90% of the time and hopefully she'll never need it. The people that we've talked to have been very knowledgeable.
I had heard good things about the company so I decided to get it. When I first got it they explained everything to me in a very friendly and cheerful way. It was just excellent communication. The staff is also very caring and professional, they made a very good impression. I haven't had to use it at this point, thank God, but it's a good security blanket to know that the band is on my wrist. It's all ready and available if I ever need it. It's also easy to use.

I did a lot of checking and they were the best for my needs. I've never used it, just tested it. This is all new to me.
I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it's simple to use.
I had heard a lot of people talk about it, so I went and got it. It seems to be a good thing though.
I got it for my mom and she uses it daily. They have been very friendly and courteous so far.
My wife is the one that investigated about it and got it. I wear the watch and she wears the pendant. I've had it for less than a month, so I have not had to use it. I haven't had any problems so there hasn't been any need to contact customer service. Still, it's all very convenient as far as I'm concerned.
I liked what they had to offer, so I got the service for my mom since she lives alone. We haven't had any problems or issues, they respond quickly. The device itself is light and the button is big and easy enough for her to pus it. Now she's safe.
