Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $249.95. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.

While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

I've used it twice and the button is just simple and easy to use. You know when it's working and when it isn't.
The ability to use the service while away from home and the GPS location bit were what convinced me of getting it. The people are very knowledgeable, it just takes a little bit to get through to them. I've had to use it once while I was at home. I needed to go to the emergency room and they sent an ambulance out to pick me up. I've also tested it when I was out and about in the community and they were able to locate exactly where I was. One of my watches has broken before and they sent me a new one to replace it. The thing is that that one broke again when I was out doing physical therapy. My home unit is messed up right now too, I can't really press the button on it anymore.
I've never had to use it thank god, I just have it hanging from my neck in case I need it. Customer service is very attentive.
My daughter picked it for me. I've never had to use it, but I wear it everyday.
I've never had to use it and right now I'm moving somewhere else so I need to ask for a box or something to return it. Still, they were easy to deal with and I was very pleased with it.
I kind of got it by accident. The button is easy to use, though most of the time I have trouble remembering to take the portable thing with me when I go out. Actually on one occasion I didn't realize that it was not charged and they called everyone to try and find me.
I just joined in since I liked the idea of being able to take it with me when I'm away from the house. Since I just got it I haven't tested it, so I'm making arrangements to try it out every month. I want to make sure it's working okay. On a typical day I take the thing with me when I go out but it is hard to remember to do that.
I asked a lot of people for recommendations and Medical Guardian came up, so I got it.Thank goodness I haven't had to use it. The button is heavy and when I try to push it to get in touch with them it's a bit hard to press. However when I lean over and accidentally bump it against something it goes off. I can't figure that out. When I was able to get to them they were very nice and helped me answer a lot of questions I had. It's a rather convenient service.
I just picked them out, there wasn't a particular reason for it. I wear the button every day and it has been good.
I did some research online and got it for my father. He has never had to use it for an actual emergency, but in terms of testing the button each month everything has worked well. There have been no issues and we get good customer support. We've had some trouble with the devices though. Sometimes my father has trouble pressing the button. He has to press and hold it for a good length of time for it to go off and that can be hard for him. He's also hearing impaired, so it's hard for him to communicate with the people on the line. I'd like it if there was an option to make the speaker louder or for it to have some kind of text that he could read instead. That would be helpful.
I live by myself so I needed to have some kind of back up that could look after me if there was ever a problem. Since they had all the things I needed, I got it. I've used it once when I had a medical problem. I haven't had any problems with it, though sometimes it takes a little time for me to get to an operator. It's also more expensive than what I expected it would be... Still, it's there if I need it, it's just reassuring to know that I have a way to contact somebody if I need to.
I happened to come across them while looking around and, after calling and getting all the information, I went ahead with it. Since I'm home 90% of the time, it just sits there in case I need it. I've never had to use it but I'm sure it's all fine. The one time I called to ask a question they answered right away and I got the information that I needed. My biggest problem with it is that, even though I can take it with me wherever I go, I never remember to actually bring the little thing with me.
We saw an advertisement and decided to test it out to see how it worked. The thing is comfortable to wear we've had no problems when we test it.
I didn't pick it, my daughter bought it for me. I've never had to use it, I just wear the necklace and that one is easy to wear. When I call in for testing it takes a long time for them to answer though. It usually rings up to 10 times before they pick up.
The decision to get it was a family decision. I have not had to use it yet, but when I test it I get a response fairly quickly. I feel secure with it.
My daughter was the one that decided to get this. I've never had to use it, but one time I set it off accidentally and they were very helpful. They contacted me immediately to see what the problem was. They even told me how to reset the alarm and everything.
After talking to the salesman I just ended up liking it better than the other services and people I've talked to. I've been fortunate in that we have not had to use it, but I make sure to test it every month to make sure that it's working. Everything works alright every time. It's simple and easy to use. It's super user friendly and the only negative thing is that the wristwatch band is kind of useless. They need to improve it. The pendant is fine and very comfortable though.
I got it because it could go all over the place with me, I didn't have to stay at home for it to work. My one concern is that the button is too heavy to wear around my neck, so I put it on a belt loop instead. I do need a watch or wristband, which I think they mentioned in the sales pitch they gave me. Having it on my belt loop just makes it go off by mistake a lot. Still, whenever that happens they respond every time and have been very polite.

Thank you for the review. We do offer a device called the Mobile Guardian that may suit your needs, it has a mobile base that you can store in a mobile carrying case and a separate wearable wrist button option that you can use to access help in an emergency situation. If you are interested in hearing more about the Mobile Guardian, please reply to this message with your name, address and phone number and we will reach back out to discuss it with you. Any information shared in your reply will not be posted publicly. Thank you for reaching out and have a lovely day!
They just seemed to meet all the needs and wants that I had, so I called them to check and got it. I haven't had to use it, but having the service makes me feel secure. The button is comfortable and I wear it everyday. Some of the other devices need to be charged often, but with this one I don't have to worry about it too much. The only thing I'm not quite happy with is the fact that when I press the button I don't get a response immediately, I have to wait. It's a bit expensive, but it's satisfying and serves my purposes well.
I just found it online and got it. I've never had to use it, but I've never had any problem with them. I've pressed the button to check it and they're always there. Whenever I talk to them things are fine.
I got it because I could wear the thing around my neck, even when I went out. That way I could contact somebody if I needed to no matter where I was. I don't really like it much though. It's too big and I'd like it better if it wasn't dangling from my neck. It might be better if I could attach it to my clothing or to my waist band.

I was looking for a button with GPS on it, so I picked Medical Guardian. We haven't had to use it, but we test it every so often. They're always very courteous and helpful.
I looked through different kinds of medical devices and liked their features the best, so I chose them. When I talked to the person to place an order I got complete information about everything and they were very cheerful. I did have some problems trying to hook up the device, so I called back and they were very helpful with that.
I did some research on a couple of them and they offered the best value so I got it. I haven't had to use it except for when I test it once a month. I must say, they are slow at answering those.
We were looking for something and since their price was better than the other one so we got it for my son. He's hadicapped and doesn't have full control of his hands, so sometimes it's a bit hard for him to push it. We haven't had to use it, but I've pushed the button by accident and they answered alright.
I've had a couple of mini strokes before and my children were concerned about that since I live by myself. Because of that my daughter went and got it for me. I'm a senior but I still I go to the field to play softball. Since I wear the necklace all the time, I just tell the guys that if I fall down I can just press the button and someone will come get me. Thank goodness I haven't had to use it, I've only really pressed the button by accident and I usually don't even notice that I've done it. They always call me right away when that happens. So I know that if I really need they they'll be there for me. I even got a door lock so if I don't answer the fire fighters can come in without breaking the door. It gives me a lot of security, I feel safe having it.
They had a good list of services and features so we looked into it. They had a lot of positive reviews and when we called the person that we talked was very helpful. Because of that we decided to just get it for my mother. They helped us set everything up and since then my mother wears the pendant everyday. On one occasion she had to use it when she slipped and fell down. She had trouble getting up, so she pressed the button and they came to help her get up. Everything seems to work very well, the only problem she has mentioned so far is that, since the button is very large, she sometimes sets it off by accident. Still, it works very well when she needs it.
They offered everything that I was looking for, including the GPS feature, so I got it for my elderly father. He wears it 24/7. Everything was easy to set up and install. Their customer service is very good and so far everything has been excellent, but we've only had it for 6 months or so.
It came with Wellcare so I'm kind of stuck with it. I've never had to use it and sometimes I even forget to carry it around. When I tested it, it took them a while to answer the phone though.
So far it has been fine. I haven't needed to use it, but I'm satisfied having it. I put it on and wear it every single day and have it by my beside at night. It's just something important to me.
My son recommended I get it so I did. It's a bit inconvenient since I need to take the little unit with me whenever I go out of the condo for the thing to work.
Someone mentioned them to me and said they were good so I tried it. I wear the necklace type thing and it is very easy to use it. Things have been fine in general and I think they're a really good company.
I just found them online, called them, and went with it. I had to use it one time that I was having trouble getting out of bed. I pushed the button and they called the EMTs who came out and helped me get up. They were just wonderful and got me help really quickly. Things worked out really well. It's very easy to use it, though I think the price is a little high compared to what other people pay.
I picked them because of the price. I've never had to use it, thank goodness, but when I push the button I don't really get to talk to anybody until they talk to me first. I've had a couple of incidents where I accidentally pushed the button without knowing and both times they came all the way out here for me.
They had the best value for the features and service they provided, so I got it for my mother in law. She's 92 years old and lives in Pittsburgh while I live in Michigan. I know she keeps the unit on her all the time and based on the feedback she has given me, the device is easy to use and very comfortable. Charging it is very simple too. They are very prompt at responding and we're satisfied with the service.
I pulled out a website that showed the different features of each device. Medical Guardian had all of the features I was looking for and I knew some people that were using it. There were other services out there that were less expensive, but they just had exactly what I was looking for so I went ahead and got it. I don't keep it in my house, but I have a place out of town where I go by myself. When I do that I always carry it with me in case I need to reach out for help. Thankfully I have not had to use it, but it seems to be working the way it should. I inadvertently pressed the button once while I was out doing stuff and they came out immediately. It gives me comfort and peace of mind to know that I have something that I can use to get assistance if I fall.
We looked things up on the internet and they were listed as number one in the surveys we saw. We got it, but so far I have not had to use it. I wear the necklace all the time and take the battery with me when I go out shopping or when I'm around the house. They've always come through when I call to test things. The only thing is that it often turns when I wear it so the button ends up facing my blouse where I could push it by accident. I've been satisfied with it though.
Among its competitors it was listed as one of the best, that's why I chose them. The button is very compact and has a good range. We've used it while we were up in northern New York and it worked well. We have also tested it once inadvertently and they sent out the paramedics within 10 minutes of me pressing the button. They're always available and there's always someone I can talk to.
I just researched online, found them, and got it for my mother. She had had an episode of high blood pressure so I wanted her to have it. They always answer our calls and get her help when she needs it. It's just easy to use.
I talked to several companies before deciding that they were the best one for me. I have not had to use it, but overall they're ok
I got it because it can go wherever my mother goes, not just within 10 ft of her front door. The button is easy to use. She had to use it a few weeks ago when she had some severe pain. She was ready to pass out but she managed to push the button. The EMTs were there immediately and took her to the hospital. It turned out she had a severe bladder infection, an UTI. They did everything they said they would do, I'm very happy with the service.
I just did a little bit of research, read a lot of things, and decided to go with them. I've never had to use it, but when I called to get help with something they were really busy. They said they'd call me back but they never did...

My granddaughter checked out a whole bunch of things like this and said they were the best ones. I've never had to use it but one time it went off while I was moving heavy boxes with books down in the basement. All of a sudden the phone rang and I went and responded. I told them things were alright and that was that. That gives me peace of mind since my husband travels a lot. I don't want to lay at the bottom of the stairs for days before someone finds me.
My wife was the one that found it for me. I work out a lot by myself while my wife is out at work. She wanted me to have some way to get help if something happened during those times. I don't have a cellphone and I'm out by myself a lot. If something were to happen it's really useful to have it since I can get a hold of somebody who can call an ambulance for me. I usually just have it on me, either on my belt or around my neck. I've called a couple of times to make sure that it works and contacted them, but I haven't really had to use it. The only downside is that, if I accidentally hit the button that I wear around my neck, they will call everyone even if it's a mistake. I've done that a couple of times actually. Though, when I can to just ask questions I usually get vague answers. I know it's a little high price-wise, but I'm sure it's worthy everything it costs.
My oldest daughter got it for me. I wear the watch that goes on the wrist and don't even realize I have it. My only problem is that when I go out I keep forgetting to take the unit that goes with you.
I looked things up online and checked the different options available. Since they seemed to be the best ones out there, I signed up. Since then I've checked what other people pay for things like this and they're usually paying twice what I am. I've had it for a really short time, just a few months, so I've never had to use it. While getting everything set up and going through everything that I needed, they made things very easy and simple. I wear it all day or have it somewhere that I can reach easily. I'd prefer it if it could look a little fancier, it just looks too medical right now. Because of that I have to make sure it's not showing when I go out with it.
Quite frankly what convinced me was that they included the lock box and that their pricing was competitive. I like that they let me put a couple of names down in my emergency contact list. It actually works very well and they contact the people on the list if I happen to need assistance. Everything went perfectly when I had to call for an ambulance using the main station. My sons got messages immediately after I pushed the button. There was also one time when the alert went out when it wasn't a medical alert or an emergency of any kind, but we got that figured out. It worked when I needed it. I'm completely comfortable with my decision of going with them.
I got it because I needed to have something with me in case I fell or needed help. I saw a lot of great stuff about them, including the fact that they were top of the line stuff, so I decided to just get it. I carry it with me when I go out, but I've never had to use it. I do feel safer having it with me in case something happens. It's reasonably priced.
My daughter is a nurse and she researched different things and read a lot about these services. In the end she chose Medical Guardian for me and I've chosen to stick by her idea. I'm comfortable using the button. It's a little bit heavy but I've been able to keep it from dangling under my clothes by keeping it in my bra. I do wish the button was a little smaller, but otherwise it's great. I know that when I press the button, even if it's by accident, I'll get someone to help me right away. One time I realized I wasn't wearing it and that it had fallen off of my clothes. I didn't see it at all so I called because I was very scared of losing it. They were able to tell me where it was and in a little less than 5 minutes I was able to find it.
My granddaughter and grandson got together and looked over all the services out there. Together we decided we liked Medical Guardian better, so we got it. We ordered it after I broke my hip. I was in the hospital for six weeks and we got it all set up and ready so it'd be there when I got back home. I haven't had to use it, but there's times when I've pressed the button without knowing and they've answered right away. Actually, I used to wear it to bed but I don't do that anymore since I've hit the button in the middle of the night and gotten scared when they call. Now I lay it besides my bed, but I know that they're right on top of things if I need them. I haven't had any problems with it.
