Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $249.95. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.

The Freedom Guardian has various features to aid your health and safety as well as additional perks. Here are a few of the Freedom Guardian features to be aware of:
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

My daughters purchased it for me. That's how I ended up with it, and it worked out well. The quality is fine, and I have no complaints. They have done everything I needed with them, and I've not had any issues with their service, that's for sure. About 2 weeks ago I had the flu and I was very weak. I was not able to get up out of my chair, so I eventually fell out of it. I had to use it 3 times that week. The response was very good, both from Medical Guardian and from the people who responded to my problem.
My wife did the research, and she was impressed by the testimonials. I don't use it too much; I'm generally in the house, but when I go out by myself, I put it on.
Charles And Barbara Brooks
I had called a couple of different companies and the customer service that I got over the phone was of a higher caliber with Medical Guardian than with the other companies I had called; I just wasn't impressed with them at all. We haven't had to use it, but once a month or so, I'll do the test and hit the button so that I can get a response. They're very quick to respond, and very professional. It's good equipment, too.
It's very good. When you push the button, they are right there for you, always.
It came from my grand daughter and my son. I just use it when I'm in the house or out in the yard. It's easy, i just wear it around my neck, like a necklace, and all I have to do is hit a button. City light came out one time and turned all the power off in the neighborhoods and did some work on it, and all I did was call customer service back, and they had me hooked up again, so I was fine.
I selected this for my mom. It was convenient, looked like it's easy to set up, and also had good reviews. It's easy, it's on your wrist, and she didn't take it off her wrist; she wore it like a watch. My mom had that wrist bracelet and 3 other devices around her home. She fell, and it worked very well. The fire department came and got her key out of her lock box, and then they were able to call the EMS, and they took her to the hospital. I think it was excellent service. When I contacted them about how to return it, they were very helpful, but they were very responsive when that incident happened. I would recommend it. I think everybody who has a parent living in their home alone, or an elderly person who's subject to fall, or anything, they should have that. Even if they're not really subject to fall, you never know when accidents could happen.
I got it based on the price, but I would still like it to be a little lower-priced. I think it's a very good company. The people in customer support were very quick and polite. The device works, and I like how it works, but I've only used it accidentally. One time it went off I was lifting it off the dresser, and it hit something, which automatically set it off. Another time I was trying to get a dog leash out between the seats in my car, and I forgot I had it on. That is the biggest thing: I forget I'm wearing it! It got pinched and it turned the device on, and all of a sudden the EMT's were coming down my driveway. I didn't know it had turned on because I was outside and didn't hear the phone ring when they called me.
My daughter chose it. My husband hasn't had it that long and we haven't had to use it, but all the communication we've had with the people has been great.
I researched it on the internet and it was the most highly recommended. I haven't had to use it, but when it was accidentally activated it was easy to explain, because when you wear one of these, you will accidentally activate it. I appreciate the promptness when they answer my test calls, and they've been responsive to all my requests.
My children got it for me. I wear it every day and night. It's very efficient; I just pushed a button when I felt very ill, and before I know it, they were here. They were exceptionally kind and very thoughtful. They were very patient, I must say. I am 90, and they treated me like I was 80. My children didn't get here yet, and they asked me questions without hesitating, and I thought that was exceptional. I've met them a couple of times now and both times they have been mannerly and very thoughtful. They gave me a chance to make up my mind if I wanted to go to the hospital or they would come back, which I thought was exceptional. I was feeling better once they got here, but I thought I would have to go to the hospital anyway, but they said no, I didn't have to. I think its very good. there's nothing negative about it.
I've done some checking, and I guess from what I read and researched, it seemed better than any other one, like it was the best deal. I trust them, and I'm certainly satisfied with it. I haven't had to use it yet but I keep it on. I wear the necklace all the time, and I keep the other things set up.
We got it based on features, reviews and cost. We've been fortunate, and haven't had to use it for an emergency; only to check to see that it was working properly. They are responsive and answer questions thoroughly. They get back to you quickly; my things were taken care of, so that's good! It seems to be cheaply made, but it's very simple. My husband who is disabled understands how to use it.
I had looked around, and that seemed to be the best choice at that point. They have a few different options; they have a pendant and the other wristwatch-type device, and then they have the base unit. We had an occurrance where we needed to call the ambulance, and we were able to do that through the device. They were there when we needed them, and we were able to get the service that we were supposed to.
I thought it was a good price, like $29.95 a month, but I was misled, and we've been getting billed $40 a month for it now. When you press the button, it rings about 5 times before somebody answers.

Dawn, thank you for the review. As far as how long it takes for your Home Guardian to connect with an operator, 5 rings sounds like it fits within our general expectation of under 60 seconds for connecting with one of our highly trained operators. We will reach out shortly to discuss your billing and to test your device to ensure it is working as it should. Thanks again for reaching out and have a lovely day!
I really didn't decide on it, my son did. It's basically the same as others. When I get up in the morning, I put my necklace around my neck, and I put another part on my walker, and I have it with me. I haven't fallen, thank goodness, but I feel secure knowing that I've got it in case I fall.
I like their reps; they answered all my questions as needed. Fortunately I never have had to use the device, and I've never had a problem with it.
I picked this one because it had good reviews, it sounded really good, the price was reasonable, and you weren't tied into a contract that you couldn't get out of for months and months. With the one I had before, you were kind of locked in. If you decide you don't need this one, or it's not working out, you can turn it off and cancel it. It's my dad's and I set it up for him, and we've been totally happy with it. It works exactly like they say it will. It works quickly, they ask if you need any help, they send someone out, they call the people on the contact list, so it works perfectly. He's had to use his device several times, and it's always worked out really well. It's pretty easy to use; my dad's 91, and he gets confused easily, but they keep talking to you. If he doesn't answer the questions quite right, they'll keep asking questions until he understands, and I think that's really good. The last time he had to use it, he had passed out. He wasn't by himself, his caretaker was with him, and she pressed the button for him. It takes about a minute. It seems like a long time when you're waiting but it's not really long when they respond and can talk to you. When you tell them that you need something, they're there so quickly. Any time I had to call customer support, they were very good and efficient, but sometimes the wait time to get to them is a bit long.
This is for my dad. We liked this system because of the features they had with the GPS on the transmitter, so he can be anywhere and we can get a hold of him, and he can call for help. We would really like to see where you could have two different transmitters for one button, so you can leave one transmitter in a vehicle and leave another in the house, and activate both with the same wrist band button. My dad was having trouble remembering to take the transmitter with him in the car, so we wanted to leave one transmitter in the car and leave one transmitter in the house if it were possible.

Thank you for the review. We appreciate your feedback about transmitter buttons. Unfortunately, we do not offer such a feature at this point in time. We do however offer an all-in-one unit, the Active Guardian, that has the speaker and base in one unit that he can wear around his neck. This might be a bit easier for him instead of the 2 piece nature of his Mobile Guardian. If you are interested in hearing more about the Active Guardian, reply directly to this message and we will reach out. Have a great weekend!
My son picked it out for me. It works fine and I'm glad to have it. They seem to answer my questions when I call.
Customer service was very good. I've never had to use the device except at the beginning of the month, when I call and check and make sure it's working. Other than that there's no problems. My kids picked it out for me, and I have no problems or qualms. Everything has been good so far.
Dayton & Lenora Word
We got it because it was America-based. So far we haven't had to use it, thank goodness. I haven't had to talk with them since, but when I was first setting it up, they did help get everything going.
After doing some research, it just seemed like a good fit. I've not had any issues.
I had checked with other alert services, and I decided that this service was the most complete and responsible for what I needed. I'm 82 years old and I just need some protection. I've had great contact with the company. They've answered all the questions that I've ever had, and I just respect the people I talked with and I have grown to respect the company. I'm totally satisfied with it. I think the cost of the units are very, very reasonable for the protection that they gave a person. It's very easy to use, all I do is call them once in a while to make sure it's activated and I call in the test alert. The operator is always very clear and it proves that to me that the service is working properly and well. Fortunately, I have not had to use it yet, but I carry the necklace and the wristband all the time. I know that I feel safer now, because I have the capability hanging around my neck to call an emergency response team if it were necessary.
My children got it for me, and I had to use it once when I got dizzy. I didn't care for the people that came to pick me up.
I needed somebody to look after my mother when I couldn't be there, and Medical Guardian was the first one to respond. I thought it was a little bit expensive. They could be a little prettier than what they are, but they're pretty functional, and I never had to have any repairs.
We did some research, and we liked the price. It's just convenient. we got the necklace one. One night when my husband had a controlled fall and I needed help getting him up, he called Medical Guardian, and and they called the EMT's and they were right there, very gracious and helpful in the middle of the night. They are very professional.
My family decided it was the best device. I'm fine with it. I wear it from the time I get up in the morning, all day. I'm comfortable with it, and I feel safe with it.
My daughter choose it after she did the research. I would rather have something that was all in one, not a piece here and a piece there.

Edythe, thank you for the review. Your Mobile Guardian features a 2 piece design. We may have a product that will better meet your needs, the Active Guardian. The Active Guardian features an all-in-one design with both your speaker and pendant combined into a single unit you wear around your neck. We will have a member of our Customer Care team reach out to discuss the Active Guardian further with you. Have a great day!
I just read up on it and my family thought it was a good idea, so we thought we would go with it. So far I've been very happy with it. I just use the bracelet, I leave it on all the time. It seems like it's working very well.
I got it due to a combination of cost and the ability to not sign a full-year contract. It consistently works and it seems like good quality. The device is for my mom. She had fallen in the bathroom and broken her femur. She used it because she could not get to the phone. They got the authorities over there, and were able to get her to the hospital. They then alerted me, so it was nice to have that kind of reliability and consistency where I know what's going to happen if she presses the button. They've always been able to answer my questions, and they've always been available when I needed to discuss something with somebody.
I've never had to push the button. I just liked that it could be used in any place.
My father has it, and he's not had to use it, but the communication has been very positive.
I found information on it when I was reading, and it applies to my needs. I haven't had the chance to use it yet, it has been a precaution in case I need it. It's functional; people do respond within seconds when I do my testing.
It's in my name but my mom uses it. Every time she did use it, there was a response right away. They always respond in a timely manner, and they seem to be very professional on the phone.
The ratings on the internet convinced me on it. About four days after I signed up for it, I tipped over in a chair backwards, and I got myself pinned such that I couldn't reach the phone or anything, and it was in the middle of the afternoon. So there I lay! I'm in an independent living retirement community, and if I could have gotten the phone that would've fixed the problem, but I couldn't, so I hit the button. The ambulance was here about ten or fifteen minutes later, it got me up, end of story. It worked!
I saw it had high ratings, and it just seems it had to offer what I needed for a good price. I've never have to use it for any type of situation yet, but I know when I have had questions or needed to know something, and I would call them, they were very professional. When I needed to get it set up it worked really, really smooth, really easy.
It's been satisfactory. I try to use it when I'm on my walks. I pushed the button accidentally and they came right on, and I told them everything was okay.
My daughter looked it up on the computer. She didn't like that I live here alone when she's so far away. I would recommend it; I feel a lot safer.
It was the right alert device for me; it's very good. I think it's great, and I haven't had any problems. The one time I hit the button accidentally, they were right there to ask me what was wrong.

Thanks for the review. We aim for five-star service here at Medical Guardian. You sound satisfied overall with our service. Is there anything we could do to earn a higher rating from you? Thanks again for reaching ou!
Basically, the cost and the service provided were very reasonable. I know there are better units out there, but it served a purpose. It was ordered for my mother because she lives alone. I would recommend it for other seniors living alone. They responded right away when we tested it, and the customer service people were fantastic and addressed any concerns I had. I did have an issue when I first got it, because I'd ordered a lock box, and they put the wrong code on the box that we had requested. It was one digit off, so it wasn't double checked when they sent it out, but that was resolved.
I got it since another friend of mine has it. I think they should have the information on your health at the company, not just at your house. If you call for an emergency, they should know what to tell the people that are going to go to help you.

Patricia, you are correct that we don't currently offer the option to store your health information in our database. However, we do currently provide EMT cards with all purchases that you can update with appropriate medical information to put on your fridge. In an emergency situation, we will inform emergency responders of the EMT card location, providing them with potentially valuable information in the process. Feel free to reply directly to this message if you have any additional questions about this process or any other questions. Thank you for the review and have a great weekend.
I picked them because I could get a very limited area covered. My philosophy is that since the only place that they couldn't see me are in my house and in my yard, I don't need anything out and about where people are hanging out all the time, I just needed something to cover me here. I got the medallion that I can wear when I'm showering so I have that option. I've had a couple of false calls because the cat broke the thing off one day and the next thing I knew there were EMT's at the door, so it works very well, but they were not happy about the fact that it was a false alarm. I haven't had to use the customer support, but it must be good, since the paramedic showed up!
I think their rating is one of the top of the market. I think that their price is right and service is excellent. I have not had the pleasure of using it, but they respond very quickly.
It was the best value for the money. If any of my friends needed to have some one of these services, I definitely would give them heads up for this particular company. They are very good. I purchased it for my mother, and she has been using it for now for three months. So far they have lived up to their advertising of what they do, and we expect our service to continue as such. We have not had any emergency situations such as a fall, but they've been very proactive at handling any situation. She's had no problems with it. In fact, they were very cordial whenever she had a problem getting the thing to connect up with their system. The customer service that they had was outstanding. They stayed working with my mother, who is not technically minded, to get her necklace working properly until everything worked just the way it's supposed to. It's compact enough that it's easily transportable, and it's also good that it's attractive enough not to look ugly against whatever she's wearing.
I did research and I found that it was the best value for what I wanted. It's easy to use, it's light weight, it's water resistant, and I wear in the shower every day and haven't had a problem with it. It's handy. The customer support is courteous. It didn't take very long for the phone call to go through. It was clear, and it was easy to understand. I've used the device twice. I have Parkinson's disease. I was standing and I couldn't get seated because I couldn't move anywhere, so I pushed the button and they came and helped me find the seat. Another time I was having some severe all over pain, and I pushed the button to get help from an ambulance. I think the wristband one was too heavy; I'm a very small woman. It's heavy and it's plastic and it's hot, so I had my girls cut it off and put on a ribbon. I wish that they would buy something other than the plastic wristband. I mean, I made it work, but it sometimes fails because it's just velcro.
I saw the commercials on TV, and then when I talked to a customer service representative, I made up my mind to go with them. So far they've been a very good company to deal with, and I've already recommended them to friends. They're just very helpful and and take their time to answer questions. They don't rush you off the phone. So far, knock on wood, we haven't used it for an emergency; we've just done some testing on it. I really like the idea that if she even falls, then it sets off an alarm.
My kids decided that I would have one. So I said fine, found it online, and called and ordered it. They've been excellent, and I'm very happy with it. One time I was in the hospital up in Syracuse, and I just came out of the operating room and I had given the device to my daughter because I forgot to leave it at home. She left it in her purse, which she put on a chair or something, and somehow it hit it just right, and the thing was ringing there. I guess we didn't hear it immediately at the time. My son in Italy got called, my daughter in Atlanta got called, and they were calling here. My daughter was out back and the police were at the front door, and the ambulance was on the way, but she told them, no, I was in Syracuse, New York being operated on! They responded very, very well. It was an accident, but they covered everything. It's very efficient, and you know, you can't ask for anything better.
I checked a lot of different companies' ratings, and what people had written about them. AARP and everything else had them as number one, so I went with them. It's a little bit expensive, but it's convenient to use, and it seems to be very well made, so I'm happy. When I first got it, I was supposed to have gotten a watch setup instead of the the necklace part, and I gave them a call. They straightened it out in a heartbeat and sent it out; I had it in two days! I've never had to use it, fortunately, but when I do call for my checks to make sure the system is working, they are very prompt as far as answering. Other than that, it's a nice feature to have when you get a little older and your health's not that good. I already have recommended it to others.
Somewhere online I saw that they had good service, and it was rated high, so I went for it. I don't know why they sent me a bill or deducted three hundred and something dollars right away, before I even had the machine, but I need to call them about it.

My grandson purchased it for me. I haven't had any problems with it; I just wear it around my neck. So far so good!
