Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $99. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.
Medical Guardian has a new high-tech medical alert device that is a smartwatch for seniors called The Freedom Guardian. This new medical alert watch is designed to be sleek and convenient to wear every day. The Freedom Guardian doesn't need a base unit to connect to, and you can wear it with you anywhere you go.
Caregivers or family members can download the Companion mobile app to communicate with Freedom Guardian wearers at any time as well as track their current location.
The Freedom Guardian has various features to aid your health and safety as well as additional perks. Here are a few of the Freedom Guardian features to be aware of:
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

How is Medical Guardian’s medical alert service different than calling 9-1-1?
In emergencies, you don’t always have access to a phone. Having a medical alert system means you can request help at any time with the press of a button. Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.
I'm living with my daughter and I've gradually gotten to a point where I can't walk that well. Right now I've got to use a walker and I don't go out anymore, so I needed to have this. My children, primarily my daughter, were the ones that picked it for me. I'm glad to have it, though fortunately I haven't had to use it.
I saw advertisements for it and decided to get it for my mother. She hasn't had to use it but whenever we run into problems or if we have questions they answer them right away.
I just went with them since they were rated the best. I haven't had to do anything with it yet.
I did some research and since I liked the idea of having the GPS I got it. The person that uses it usually wears it when he goes to visit my mom or just when he goes out. Recently he fell and broke his hip but thank god he had that available, it saved him then. Though when he pushed it they re-directed him to someone else three different times.
I got it for my mom since it seemed to be the best for her and it was affordable. She hasn't had to use it, but we haven't had any problems with it. It's really easy to get it all hooked up. The people are really nice and willing to help you out, I really appreciate them.
Customer support helped me set everything up and make sure that everything was working. When I tested my unit they contacted me immediately. They've also called me right away when my grandson accidentally activated the alarm. They've done a good job. I'm happy with this service and I feel I'm getting what I paid for, but I think it's a shame that Medicaid just won't pay for it.
When I saw it advertised they said that the machine could pick up on your signal further away than most other services. I went with them because of that and so far I've been happy with it. Whenever I have a question, they are very prompt at answering them. I've never had to call for help but I've tested it a couple of times.
I researched all the medical alert things online and Medical Guardian seemed like the best. The button can go in the shower and it covers you everywhere because of the GPS. It's a very solid product and they even give you the option between the arm band and the necklace. I've been very satisfied. I wear it when all the time: when I'm in the pool, when I do aerobics outside, or even when I'm doing nothing. I haven't had to use it since I got it, but I've tested it and they've called me back really fast. I don't know how long it would take them to get to me though. Still, it makes me feel secure to have it around. I fell right before getting the button and it's very scary situation to be in, so having it is great.

Thank you for the review! One thing to keep in mind though. While our products are highly water resistant, we don't recommend their use in a pool or the ocean due to the potential negative effects of chlorine and salt water on our equipment. Other than that, we're happy that you are enjoying your experience with Medical Guardian!
I went online and looked up all the different medical alert companies. They had a good rating, I think 9.5 out of 10, so I gave them a call. The salesman that spoke with me wasn't too pushy and he was just very honest and nice. I liked that and it made me happy, so I went with it. I'm fairly new to the service, I've only had it for a couple of months, so I haven't had to use it. I check on the equipment about once a month. I have the bracelet on all day and keep the neck piece by my bedside and close to me when I shower. If I go out I take the base with me. It's just always near me. It gives me and my children peace of mind since I'm 85 years old. If I need to get up in the middle of the night or need to go somewhere I know it's there for me. I think the price is very reasonable, especially since I paid for the year in advance and got a discount. I've always wondered though, if somebody came in to help me, would they have to break the door to come in and help me?

Alternatively, if you have a garage code, your own lockbox, or any sort of hidden key information, you can share this with us as well. Please feel free to reach back out and discuss your options, either by responding directly to this message or by calling in to speak with a member of our Customer Care team. Our Customer Care team is available at 1-800-313-1191. The Customer Care team is available Monday-Friday, 9AM-9PM EST and Saturday-Sunday, 9AM-5PM EST.
I just googled it, read some descriptions from other users, and decided to go with Medical Guardian. I've never had to use it, but I've had a couple of accidents where I pushed it and they called me. I do wish that the button would stay on. It's pretty easy for the watch's band to pop open.
It seemed like the best, so I got it. I haven't had to use it since getting it, but I wear it everyday. I don't quite like wearing the pendant though.
They seemed to be just what I was looking for. I wear the medallion all the time, though I haven't had to use it. They only time I've ever talked to anybody was the day I actually got into trouble. I just hadn't tested it before, and I should've done that earlier, but they helped me do that really quickly. I have to be really careful with it because if I don't have an emergency and press it, it will contact the authorities. So it's something I have to watch out for. One thing I don't like is that I can't really speak to them using the medallion. I have to have the base unit around and that's a big drawback. That means that, basically, the only place I can use it in is my house and that really doesn't do me any good. It's definitely limiting. I've seen other companies that have this sort of service and offer a device that you can use to talk to them through the medallion so'I don't think they gave me enough information to make a good choice.
Their advertisements were what convinced me to get it. I've only had it for a couple of months and, thank goodness, never had to use it. I wear it constantly though. When I've called to test it I've been made to wait for a bit. It just takes them some time to answer the call. It's not bad, but it's not perfect.
It wasn't offered to me or anything, I just looked medical alert services and they came up. At that time I was going away and my husband had just had a major surgery, so I thought to get it for him since he was going to be alone. We've only had it for a couple of months and he has it around all the time. On one occasion my husband was having difficulty breathing and we pushed the button. The phone thing rang for a long period of time before anyone answered. I wish their response time was quicker. I mean, when you're panicking because someone can't breath it just feels like it takes them forever to answer the phone. On top of that they've got to get the paramedics and explain things all over again so that's a lot of time to wait. Still, it gives us peace of mind to know that, even when he's by himself, he get can get help.
I got it since I'm really old and I might fall and hurt myself. I've never had to use it, but I feel good having it. It's a nice thing when you get old.
I live alone so I needed to have some kind of backup in case I had an accident. I went and talked to my children about it and since I didn't necessarily need a security system, we went with Medical Guardian as a medical alert service. I haven't had it for too long but I've tested it to make sure it's working. I'm glad to have something that I can depend on if I fall or if anything happens to me.
They had what we needed so I got it for my mom. When we set everything up customer support was fine and the thing seems to work well too.
Their customer support is very helpful and they seem to know what they're talking about.
I got it for my father who's 90 years old. I liked the lock box because if something were to happen to him they will be able to get in and help him out. I haven't needed to call them a lot, but they have been very supportive and helpful whenever I do. We've only had to use it once, but things worked out well that time. It gives us peace of mind, that's for sure.
I settled on them after talking with customer service. Besides, the price seemed good, so I got it for my father in law. He has had to use it twice so far and he has gotten a good response, it has worked well.
I checked with my friends and daughter and we settled on this one. I haven't had a time when I had to use it, I just check it to make sure that everything is working okay. I haven't had any problems with it.
My family was the one that decided to get it for me. Customer support is very friendly and the button is easy to use.
I went online looking for services. I liked the idea of the GPS features since I'm 82 years old and I go out all the time. I haven't had to use it, but I check on in to make sure that it works and that they know where I am. Typically I don't wear it all the time, but I take it with me when I go out of town, visit my wife in the nursing home where she lives, or just when I take the dogs out to walk. I like that it's small in size but that it can still hear me if I'm 30 or 40 ft away from the base unit. I'm hoping that I'll be able to continue walking my dogs in the woods, so it's good to have.
They were the only service that had just one device for everything, others had two or three different ones. That's why I picked them, with just one piece I am covered everywhere I go, it doesn't matter if I'm in my house or if I go out. It's easy to put the button on the charger when I go to bed at night and when I get up it's good to go. I've never had to use it but I test it twice a month. They have answered fairly quickly when I do that, so I imagine that in a real emergency they will be quick too.
I live with my daughter and son in law, but since they're not around all the time I started looking at different services. My family insisted I get this one, so I did. I wear it and have it with me all the time. It has worked fine whenever I've tested the button. It's worth the price that we're paying.
I picked them primarily because of the reviews and ranking it had. It was just supposed to be one of the top companies out there. I'm happy to say that I haven't had the opportunity to use it so far, but I have it around and it has been operational since I got it. It has delivered on all the promises they made. Everyone has been great and they've been very transparent about everything. I have no reason to believe that it won't work, it's a very reliable service.
I did quite a lot of research and they seemed to have the best reviews so I got it for my father in law. He's 86 years old and wears it all the time. They give you the option of wearing the bracelet or the pendant, so it's convenient that way. It's very easy to understand how to use them too. Everyone I've talked to from customer support has been excellent.
I read reviews online and since they were highly recommended I got it. I've never had to use it, I just wear the wristband all the time. The one time I had to call them they were very helpful.
I saw a brochure for them in my doctor's office and since I live alone I decided to give them a call. I've never had to use it, but everything I've heard about them has been good.
We did a lot of research and felt like this one was the best service out there. I've been lucky in that we've only had to test it. So far it has been ok.
I researched and they had the right product that I needed for my mother. The button is very simple and easy to use and they always have people available to help you.
When I looked online Medical Guardian had the highest rating, so I decided to go with it. I've only had it for a few months and haven't had to use it, but I feel confident with it. I've called in to test it a couple of times, just as I'm supposed to do every month, and the people have been helpful. The button is comfortable too. I'm happy with it.
We got it for my mother in law. We liked that it was cellular based since that means it will work no matter where you are. I think the button could be thinner since it's a little heavy.
They seemed to have everything that I wanted, including good customer service, at a reasonable price. It's not the cheapest option, but it has been the one that gives me the most safety. I haven't had to use it yet, thank goodness, but we've tested it to make sure it worked. They called us right away and made sure that everything was fine and that there was no mistake. When I received the package everything I needed was there as well as some other very thoughtful things. I got the lock box, the wristbands, the necklace, etc. There are a number of ways you can wear the devices, which is very user friendly. The only thing that I don't like is that if I'm in a different room from the base unit I have to yell for them to hear me. Though I have the feeling that they will be there for me if I actually needed it.

Brian, thank you for the kind review. You are correct about how our units work if our operators can't hear you. If you push your button and cannot communicate with an operator for whatever reason, our operators will assume you are having an emergency and proceed to call your primary phone number. If you are still unreachable at that point, they will move to contact EMS to dispatch to your location. Feel free to reach back out with any other questions you may have and have a lovely day!
The price and the value of it were what convinced me of getting it. I haven't had to use it, thank god, but everything is fine with it.
I had seen this on a family member and I thought it would be good to get it for my father as well. We've used other brands in the past, but we really like the way this one works. Typically my father uses it at night when he goes to the bathroom. Customer support is quick and efficient.
After looking online they looked to have the highest ratings so I purchased this for my mom. Starting up was also very easy. That was the only time we had to call customer support and things went fine. So far it seems to be an easy program and system to use. My mom just wears the necklace whenever she's at home.
I have had the most horrible experience with this company. I ordered a unit and told it was $39.95 per month. Within 5 minutes my visa was charged $600.00US. When I contacted them I was told it's a deal, buy 8 months get 2 free! Oh great deal! I immediately cancelled my order. The company sent out a unit anyway and now want me to pay to return it. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Beware
only 1 problem; I asked specifically if the Operator would be able to hear my mom from anywhere in the house and the Salesperson assured me that yes, the Operator could hear her from 600 ft away. That is not the case when I hooked up the machine.

Sharon, thank you for reaching out. We apologize for the confusion around the usage of your mother's device. If your mother were within that 600 foot range, but unable to hear or communicate with our response team, we would reach out to her via her primary phone number to double check if an emergency was in fact occurring. If unable to reach her, we would assume the worst and reach out to emergency responders. We will have a member of our team reach out to discuss how this process works more fully and answer any questions you may have. Thanks again for reaching out and have a lovely day!
The customer service rep was very knowledgeable. She explained all of my questions. I was very impressed with the company's ratings.
They Lie said it should work in our area with no cell service. I could not connect without cell service

Judy, we are sorry that you had a frustrating experience trying to get your unit working. We assure you that there was no attempt to mislead you with regards to the cellular coverage needed to use one of our cellular devices. Unfortunately, we cannot account for all environmental factors that can affect signal strength. You will be granted a full refund upon the return of your equipment.
Easy to set up and customer service was excellent
We have just started with this company. All customer service representatives have been great, however, i did not like how long it took for the unit to arrive. I oredered it on 1/12/18 and it arrived on 1/27. Also, it was difficult to reach someone when i had questions or needed to make changes to our information. I was on hold for greater than 8 minutes for two different calls. .
Because the system I ordered was not the one I received and the reorder has not arrived!

I am never alone when I'm wearing my Medical Guardian. Becoming a statistic having a medical emergency with no ability to reach out for help is no longer an issue My long distance family is also relieved I wear it all times. My only displeasure is it's size. That is based on my ego, peace of mind for me and those I love is more importany.
My 93-year-old mother purchased this system several months ago. Late on a Saturday night two weeks ago she fell. Two friends came, but I was not called, even though I am #1 on the list and no ambulance ever arrived. The friends had to call 911. The ambulance went to an address in a city 60 miles away. Even after they realized it was a mistake, they did not call to find out the correct address. When I called to ask why, they said someone called and changed her address. Ridiculous! Also, they had my number wrong in their system, so I found out about all of this via the friends. We are changing to another company. Be aware that many of the "reviews" for this company are self-provided.

Diane, thank you for reaching out. We're sorry that your mother had such a difficult time using our services when she had a fall recently. We hope that she's doing alright. We are currently looking into her situation and a manager in our Customer Care department will be reaching out to you shortly to discuss her situation. was not impressed fully with information; seemed to want the sale more than providing facts.
