Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $99. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.
Medical Guardian has a new high-tech medical alert device that is a smartwatch for seniors called The Freedom Guardian. This new medical alert watch is designed to be sleek and convenient to wear every day. The Freedom Guardian doesn't need a base unit to connect to, and you can wear it with you anywhere you go.
Caregivers or family members can download the Companion mobile app to communicate with Freedom Guardian wearers at any time as well as track their current location.
The Freedom Guardian has various features to aid your health and safety as well as additional perks. Here are a few of the Freedom Guardian features to be aware of:
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

How is Medical Guardian’s medical alert service different than calling 9-1-1?
In emergencies, you don’t always have access to a phone. Having a medical alert system means you can request help at any time with the press of a button. Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

I talked to several companies before deciding that they were the best one for me. I have not had to use it, but overall they're ok
I just researched online, found them, and got it for my mother. She had had an episode of high blood pressure so I wanted her to have it. They always answer our calls and get her help when she needs it. It's just easy to use.
I got it because it can go wherever my mother goes, not just within 10 ft of her front door. The button is easy to use. She had to use it a few weeks ago when she had some severe pain. She was ready to pass out but she managed to push the button. The EMTs were there immediately and took her to the hospital. It turned out she had a severe bladder infection, an UTI. They did everything they said they would do, I'm very happy with the service.
I just did a little bit of research, read a lot of things, and decided to go with them. I've never had to use it, but when I called to get help with something they were really busy. They said they'd call me back but they never did...

My granddaughter checked out a whole bunch of things like this and said they were the best ones. I've never had to use it but one time it went off while I was moving heavy boxes with books down in the basement. All of a sudden the phone rang and I went and responded. I told them things were alright and that was that. That gives me peace of mind since my husband travels a lot. I don't want to lay at the bottom of the stairs for days before someone finds me.
My wife was the one that found it for me. I work out a lot by myself while my wife is out at work. She wanted me to have some way to get help if something happened during those times. I don't have a cellphone and I'm out by myself a lot. If something were to happen it's really useful to have it since I can get a hold of somebody who can call an ambulance for me. I usually just have it on me, either on my belt or around my neck. I've called a couple of times to make sure that it works and contacted them, but I haven't really had to use it. The only downside is that, if I accidentally hit the button that I wear around my neck, they will call everyone even if it's a mistake. I've done that a couple of times actually. Though, when I can to just ask questions I usually get vague answers. I know it's a little high price-wise, but I'm sure it's worthy everything it costs.
My oldest daughter got it for me. I wear the watch that goes on the wrist and don't even realize I have it. My only problem is that when I go out I keep forgetting to take the unit that goes with you.
I looked things up online and checked the different options available. Since they seemed to be the best ones out there, I signed up. Since then I've checked what other people pay for things like this and they're usually paying twice what I am. I've had it for a really short time, just a few months, so I've never had to use it. While getting everything set up and going through everything that I needed, they made things very easy and simple. I wear it all day or have it somewhere that I can reach easily. I'd prefer it if it could look a little fancier, it just looks too medical right now. Because of that I have to make sure it's not showing when I go out with it.
Quite frankly what convinced me was that they included the lock box and that their pricing was competitive. I like that they let me put a couple of names down in my emergency contact list. It actually works very well and they contact the people on the list if I happen to need assistance. Everything went perfectly when I had to call for an ambulance using the main station. My sons got messages immediately after I pushed the button. There was also one time when the alert went out when it wasn't a medical alert or an emergency of any kind, but we got that figured out. It worked when I needed it. I'm completely comfortable with my decision of going with them.
I got it because I needed to have something with me in case I fell or needed help. I saw a lot of great stuff about them, including the fact that they were top of the line stuff, so I decided to just get it. I carry it with me when I go out, but I've never had to use it. I do feel safer having it with me in case something happens. It's reasonably priced.
My daughter is a nurse and she researched different things and read a lot about these services. In the end she chose Medical Guardian for me and I've chosen to stick by her idea. I'm comfortable using the button. It's a little bit heavy but I've been able to keep it from dangling under my clothes by keeping it in my bra. I do wish the button was a little smaller, but otherwise it's great. I know that when I press the button, even if it's by accident, I'll get someone to help me right away. One time I realized I wasn't wearing it and that it had fallen off of my clothes. I didn't see it at all so I called because I was very scared of losing it. They were able to tell me where it was and in a little less than 5 minutes I was able to find it.
My granddaughter and grandson got together and looked over all the services out there. Together we decided we liked Medical Guardian better, so we got it. We ordered it after I broke my hip. I was in the hospital for six weeks and we got it all set up and ready so it'd be there when I got back home. I haven't had to use it, but there's times when I've pressed the button without knowing and they've answered right away. Actually, I used to wear it to bed but I don't do that anymore since I've hit the button in the middle of the night and gotten scared when they call. Now I lay it besides my bed, but I know that they're right on top of things if I need them. I haven't had any problems with it.
We called several times and, quite honestly, it all came down to the customer service we received then. Of course, we also checked around and looked at the reviews before getting it for my mother. It has been easy to check the button to make sure that it's all working. There have been a couple of occasions when we did need it and we got the exact response that we expected to get. They're very responsive and respectful. It has definitely lived up to the promises they made and expectations that we had. We'd like the button to be a little bit more attractive since it's something that my mother needs to wear all the time. That'd make it a little easier to wear.
My decision had a lot to do with the fact that they had the mobile feature. With this I can basically assist myself if I ever need to. I usually wear it while walking up and down my house since I'm basically by myself. Every time I call, someone is there for me. The wait time is not long, which is very important, so I don't have to push the button a lot of times to get help. It's a very convenient device, it's not too large or too heavy.
I got it because of the price. We've never had to use it, which is great, but they seem to be very attentive.
I looked up different services posted online and chose Medical Guardian. We were very satisfied with the set up process and the initial call that we made. Any time we've called with a concern it doesn't take them long to answer. We test the device every month and thankfully I haven't had to use it. The button is comfortable to use and they give you the option of wearing the necklace or the bracelet. My one concern is how long it takes them to answer to a call when you press the button. I think it's an unacceptable amount of time and it's extremely concerning.

Thank you for reaching out. We are happy that your overall experience with Medical Guardian has been a positive one. With regards to response speed, we generally advise our customers to expect a response in under 60 seconds after a button press under typical conditions. If your response speeds are not falling into this range, please respond with your name, address and phone number and we will look into their situation further. Any information shared in your response will not be posted publicly and will only be shared with Medical Guardian.
I have some medical problems, so I really needed something just in case anything happened. So far I've been happy with it. I haven't had to use it, I just check it to make sure that it's all working properly but I've gotten a pretty quick response. Even if I accidentally push the button by mistake, they're there right away to see if I'm ok and if I need any help. I know that if I need them, they'll be able to get a hold of me right away. Everyone is just very friendly, understanding, and very nice.
I looked them up on the internet and chose to get them. We have 2 devices and both of them have worked fine when we've tested them and used them. One time, while I was putting the laundry up, I got dizzy and fell down. My husband, who is invalid at this time, couldn't get to me so he punched the button. Neither me or my husband could hear them since we were outside, but help got here right away. They brought me inside and helped me.
I got this system for my Mom. we found that it took around 6 to 21 rings for the calls to be answered while testing the unit. The reasons for this was always something we did wrong, they said. When it came time to renew for another year, they would not take NO for the answer, they demanded I give them my new account number and got nasty with me on the phone. Not a reliable company, would not recommend.

I have fallen several times in the past. I feel very secure with my monitoring device and am not so worried when I have to be alone.
I got it as a recommendation. I haven't had to use it but I keep it around my neck every time I'm home alone. I have no complaints about it.
My daughter got it for me. The directions to use it and to get it all hooked up were very easy to understand.
They've been very responsive. My cord came out of the wall, so it was not working, and they called me and asked me to plug it back in when I didn't even know it was out, so that shows that they are on top of what's going on. It was my daughters choice to get it for me, and I just take it with me wherever I go when I go out.
My daughter decided to get it. When it went off, they answered right away. It seems like it's accurate.
I researched all of them and I liked the features on Medical Guardian. I've never had to call in; I just wear it all the time. Although they answer every time when I test my system, sometimes it takes quite a few rings before they answer.
I would recommend this to a friend. We have compared lot of different companies; we read reviews of several, and this is the one we chose. We have been very happy with the services it provides. We knew I would be needing one, because I'm home alone and I had problems with my back. There is a lot of peace of mind knowing that this is here if we have a problem. It's just very easy to use. My husband does not have to worry about me being home alone and falling and him not finding out until coming home and finding me on the floor. They've called me to remind me to test it every three months to make sure it's always in good working order. I like that.
I had very close friends that had gotten this for their families, so I decided to get it too. I wear the button every day and every night. I've only really contacted them to do monthly checks and things go ok every time. The button is ok, just average.
I was going to be put in a home or something of the sort until I got better mostly because my husband wasn't around all the time. Because of that he thought to get this for me. I've never used it but I guess it would be good if I need it.
They were all that I needed at an affordable price. Besides, it was easy to get a contract with them, so I signed up. I've only had to call them once and they were very accommodating. I just wish it went a little further in the range it has, but besides that it's very good.
I did some research on it and figured that they were the best ones, so I went with them. I've had a number of hip dislocations, 8 of them as a matter of fact, and some of those happened after I got my medical device. On those occasions I was able to push the button and send out an alert. I got a quick response and the fire department was sent out in a matter of minutes as well as an ambulance. They even called my brother's wife. Everything worked very well when I needed it to work.
They were very responsive in getting things up and running for us. For us the main benefit has been the comfort of knowing that it's there, and we know it's working. Having the bracelet that you wear, you can use it if you need it; it's right there. We're very likely to recommend it.
They had the best features and price for the service that I needed for my elderly mother. It was easy for her to use, and she has had to use it several times. It has saved her life. She received immediate attention and immediate care.
I haven't had to use customer service except for the installation, which went well. I don't have any concerns; it's very comfortable. I've read that it was the best, but you can't push the device and talk into it.
I got it because I needed some kind of protection and since I liked what they said and offered, I decided to get it. We haven't actually had to use it as of yet but in the four months that we've had it we haven't had any problems either. I should probably test the apparatus though. The microphone is in a completely different room from the thing that I wear. My sister has a different system and I know that that one has the microphone right on the apparatus that you wear. If I were to fall at the other end of the house I'm not sure I'll be able to talk to them. That's one of my concerns with it.

Thank you for the review. If you push your help button and are out of range to be able to speak through your speaker, you will still get the help you need so long as you are within range for the button press to go through (this varies from unit to unit but would be at least 350 ft). The operator would assume an emergency is occurring and proceed with your emergency plan that was previously put into place. If you are interested, we do offer a unit, the Active Guardian, that has a microphone right on the button that you wear. If you would like more information on that unit, reply directly to this message with your full name, address and phone number so we can reach out. Any information you share will not be posted on and will only be shared with Medical Guardian. Thanks again for reaching out and have a great day!
It works, for one thing. I had one before from another company, and it sounded real good, except it didn't work very well. I had to shop around after that. I found this one, and it does work, which was the main reason for choosing it. We've tested it a couple times just to be sure it was working. It's supposed to work anywhere, and anywhere we ever tested it, it does work. As long as you have cellular service, it will work, so it's fine. It does what it's supposed to do. It's not cheap, but they are very trustworthy; I have no reason to think they're not. We've been on the phone with them, and they're always as friendly and knowledgeable and know what they're talking about, so we never had any problems.
I don't use it too much because my husband is here all the time. It would be a great thing if you were to live by yourself all the time, and there wasn't anybody around to help you. I have had trouble with it going on and off when I didn't even push it, but they sent me a new one, and they said the old one's battery was going low. Otherwise I have no problem with it. My daughter-in-law is the one who picked it out. She looked up and went to a bunch of them.
My husband died and I live alone, and that's why I got the device, but I have not had to use it yet. I had done research and I decided that it was the best one for me, providing the best service. Every time that I have had any dealings with them, they answer your questions and they're easy to deal with. My only complaint is that nobody ever calls to check on you. When my mother had a device I remember they called once a month just to check in, and nobody ever calls to check in. Also, the device is too large. I was wondering if they have a wrist device instead of the one that goes around your neck.

Thank you for the review. We are always looking for new ways to interact with our customers and will keep your feedback about check-ups in mind going forward. Many of our devices do have wristbands, but it depends on what unit your husband has. We can look into his situation further if you can provide some information to locate his account. If you can provide his full name, address and phone number we will reach back out. Any information provided will only be shared with Medical Guardian and will not be posted externally. Thanks again for the review and have a lovely day!
My daughter got it for me. Apparently my bracelet malfunctioned and the sent someone to my house because they thought I needed help. I had the scare of my life when I saw a man standing over my bed, I almost died of a heart attack. That has never happened again, but if I ever need help I know they'll be there. That's always a good thing.
I found them through word of mouth. I've never had to use it but I wear it 24/7. It seems to be very user friendly and from my initial interactions with them they seem to be good.
I checked a couple of others out, and went with this one. I haven't used it yet, only to check to see if it works. I haven't had any problems, but money-wise I think they're a little expensive.
There seemed to be a lot of good feedback when I looked online. The person who has it fell and broke her arm and shoulder and had to call 911. Not only did they call those services for her, they checked with her and then they called me to confirm everything and tell me what happened. We were very pleased. When we needed them, they responded. When we do a test, they're right there, so we're happy with that.
It met the criteria for what I was looking for so I got it for my mother. When I first purchased it, the young man that I talked to was very thorough and he answered all my questions. He went through the pricing with us and everything. My mother is following all the instructions that came on the packet that they gave us. The information there was very thorough and easy to understand. She has told me that when she puts the necklace around her neck it feels very heavy, especially since she's a tiny person. I've tried to encourage her to wear it around her waist, but she insists on putting it around her neck. I'd like it if she had something that was a bit more lightweight. Otherwise, she's very happy with it. They've done exactly what they told me they would do and I've had no problems with them. There was one time when she was out shopping and she pressed the button. They went to her home immediately to try and find her but since she wasn't there they called me and kept on looking for her. They were very thorough in finding her. I've been very pleased working with them. The service is expensive, I'm paying about $60 a month, but it's worth every penny if it helps protect my mother.
I had a different one and I was not satisfied. My doctor got on the computer and entered the information to have everybody call me, and Medical Guardian was one of the first ones that I talked to. The young lady that I spoke with was so nice and knowledgeable. Every question that I had she answered very nicely. She was just always so polite and she brought up things that I had not thought of. Their support has always been there when I needed it. They call just so you know how your equipment is doing, and to check on you. I had to use it one time when I fell over and I hit my head. I was bleeding pretty badly. I was conscious and knew where my phone was, but I had the Medical Guardian on me, which was much better. I asked the operator if she would call my son and daughter-in-law, to come over from close by, to see if we needed an ambulance or not. We stayed on the line and they came over. They looked at it and they told her that I needed to get to the hospital, and they got everything here quickly. The device itself it is very user-friendly. The pendant is very easy; just wearing a neck strap on your neck, that's no problem at all. I have the one you wear on your arm and that was my favorite. I had to replace one, though. One of them just came apart by itself at one point, but when I called, they said that's no problem; we'll just send you a new one, and it'll be in the mail in three days. You can't beat customer service like that. I like their device, I like their customer service, and I am satisfied. I am not going to change.
So far, I've only used it just to check it occasionally, to make sure it's working. The times that I've checked to see if it's working, I got answers right away, so I suppose that's good. My daughter had said to research them, and we thought it was one of the better deals that we could find.
I had fallen down about four or five times in the last four years, and I needed something because I've fallen in a couple of places where nobody was able to help me right away. I decided on Medical Guardian after I checked the ratings on the internet. Every time I just call to check, somebody's always right there, no matter what time. It works. So far I have nothing but good things to say about it.
I researched all of them, and it seemed like this was the best. There were more positive reviews about this company than the other ones, plus the price wasn't that bad, and I could cancel after three months if I had needed to. I'm sure it probably resembles all the other companies, but it seems efficient. I talked to the person that signed me up and he answered all my questions right there. Since then I haven't had a need to utilize customer service. I've had no problems. I can wear that device in the shower. If I go out, all I have to remember is to take that little transmitter with me and that's it. People keep asking me what time is it when they see the thing on my wrist. If somebody asked me, I'd recommend it, because I don't see any problems with it.
The last time I used it was when I fell on the ice while outside talking on my driveway. The device is really outstanding. Everyone should have one. I like being able to take it into a shower, and I don't have to worry about it.
Price and service were the factors that made Medical Guardian best for me. They offer quick responses and clarity in explanations, but the battery charge on the unit needs to last longer.

My daughter bought it for me, and if I knew someone that needed it, I would recommend what I got. I accidentally hit it once, and they're right on the money. I was out in the yard and I got a fire ant on my leg. A cop car came up. The officer wanted to know if I needed an ambulance. I said "No, I didn't push anything," and he said "Yeah, you did." I must have hit my bracelet with the electrical cord or something but didn't know it. But they were sending up help! I was happy with their service. If I had been in trouble I'd have appreciated it. They were there even when I even touched it and didn't mean to. They're very alert. I depend on it, and I wear it most of the time.
They're so detailed, so caring, and so organized, and it's convenient and easy to use. Fortunately I've not had to use it, but I have it with me every day. I'm just thankful that they're available and that I have them, with all of the benefits they offer.
