Medical Guardian has been an authority in fall detection since they opened their doors in 2005. The in-home medical alert company offers medical alert systems for those who may need emergency services on the go as well as at home. Its medical alert packages have top-rated accessories, including its lockboxes and fall detection pendants that are compatible with the in-home systems and medical alert devices with GPS functionality. The company also has CSAA certified monitoring centers that are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work to keep your loved ones safe.
Currently, Medical Guardian is considered one of the best medical alert companies in the medical alert device industry. Medical Guardian has low monthly monitoring rates, and the company does not charge any activation or equipment fees**. Read Medical Guardian reviews below to see what consumers have to say about the medical alert company.
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
Medical Guardian members get alert equipment free of charge** with no setup fees or long-term contracts. The systems are backed by a lifetime warranty and include access to their 24/7 monitoring centers in the event of an emergency.
Depending on the package, Medical Guardian charges around $20–$40 for round-the-clock medical alert monitoring.
Medical Guardian offers lower monitoring fees with more extensive features and higher quality equipment compared to its competitors, making the company one of the most quality and affordable medical alert options in the industry. For many other medical alert providers, you'll pay a high upfront fee for equipment as well as a hefty monthly monitoring fee.
Medical Guardian has multiple medical alert packages to choose from. This gives customers the versatility to pick the medical alert plan that works best for them and their situation. Whether you just want coverage while you're at home, or if you want 24/7 coverage for on-the-go, Medical Guardian has you covered.
We break down each offered package below, or you can find a product overview with pictures here.
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone, and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.29 per day.
The Mini Guardian is the smallest and sleekest medical alert device Medical Guardian offers. It comes in three colors, including black, silver, and white. Its capabilities are similar to Medical Guardian's other offered medical alert systems and is water-resistant, includes GPS tracking, and has a five-day battery life. This plan does require a one-time equipment fee, unlike the other basic medical alert packages.
Being 1/2 the width and weight of a regular medical alert system, this device is best for consumers who care about the convenience of size and would prefer a smaller device compared to a regular-sized system and don't mind a one-time equipment fee. The mini can clip onto bags, purses, belts, clothing, etc. for ease of use. You can also add fall detection to the mini if you'd like extra protection. The range on this device is unlimited.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $249.95. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their homes. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's monitoring centers provide bilingual support for those who cannot speak English.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station.
Medical Guardian's long range from the base station gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a long battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficulty.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you with whatever you need, whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.
Also important to note, when analyzing Medical Guardian's reviews, one of the most often referenced positives about the company was its responsiveness and exceptional customer service.
Customer Review: Anthony
"I think that their service is very good. We test it once a month and the people are very efficient, very nice, they answer very quickly and it just makes you feel confident. My every interaction with them has been a positive one."

The Freedom Guardian doesn't need a base unit to connect to, and you can wear it and trigger the medical alert anywhere you go.

The Freedom Guardian has various features to aid your health and safety as well as additional perks. Here are a few of the Freedom Guardian features to be aware of:
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

I have a son that's I. T. and he checked a number of different ones and he showed that this one was the best. I don't know the total reason but it seems like the best. I have never had to use it. Is only good at home it doesn't do me any good when I go out unless I take the whole thing with me. I've never had to ask for support. As far as I'm concerned it's okay I just think it's quite expensive for never having to use it but my son decided I should have it.
I've had this thing for about 3 months now. I've only received one phone call from them so far. Both the bracelet and the watch part are not great. The band on the watch broke almost immediately and the necklace is just not comfortable. I'm not really using it regularly, but I have it on me if I'm taking a shower or if I go to the garage away from my phone. I think I was a little premature in getting it.
It had the best reviews when I looked that online. I brought it to my Mother. I have tested it a few times and they answered the phone quickly and very controlled
I picked it because of the value and the fact that we are able to talk to a person without doing a lot. The person that uses it takes showers and does everything with it on, so that's nice. It works. One time he accidentally pushed it and the company called every person on the list and got a hold of me. That was nice, it showed that the company was paying attention. It has been pretty good so far. One time I tried to called them and it took a long time for them to answer when I pushed the button, but that was kind of late at night. It's just very simple and easy to use. It has some sort of built in feature that if somebody continuously pushed the button and starts talk back to it. It was funny because, when our cat was pushing the button, it started saying "stop that."
We just determined by looking online at reviews. There are times I could have use it but I had a grown up son and my husband too. I don't like doing tops because I'd lost mine and they were really quick to get it back, getting a new replacement. It's comforting to know that I have it when I'm wearing it
I do have some problems with it if you'd like to hear those. Well I have the wristband and I wear it all the time in the shower or wherever. I do have questions on whether or not it would function if I'm a few blocks away, I live in an independent area but I go to another area for my dinner and I'm questioning whether or not if something happened it would work not far away I guess I feel it's about three blocks away. Well their customer support is good, its very convenient, its available, easy for me to press where I think the neck device is much more inconvenient from what I have noticed with people who do have the next device. When I first had to have my medical alert for probably six months and one evening just before I was going to bed, I had a fan in my dinning room along with the light and I wanted to turn the fan off and I do suffer from vertigo so I reached up and I knew I was going to fall and I fell backwards and the last thing I remember was cracking my head and I happen to be facing my wall clock, there's no way I could have pushed the medical alert.

The button is too heavy to wear it at all. It also has a light that blinks, so it shows through the shirt or whatever I'm wearing.
Dale A Giguere
I've heard about it and decided just check it out. Never had to use it the only time I use the band is to check in with it. Every time I call in there is a quick answer. The alert device is good, I hang it on my neck everywhere I go.
Well I've did some research and I think the fact that there weren't monthly payments. I just paid once a year was helpful. I've never had to use it, every once in a while about once a month I accidentally hit the button I don't wear it around my neck because it's too heavy weighs about 4 ounces so I put it in my jeans pocket and sometimes I propped up against the cover but I never had to use it for an emergency but it's nice to know that I've got it. Every time I've accidentally pushed it I get answer right away from a very pleasant person. I think it's too heavy Not the just kind of thing that become a part of me, I would like it better if it didn't weigh so much and I could wear it around my neck. There are others services out there, that were less money and that seemed from their advertising to the same thing as Medical Guardian but I'm happy.
It had everything I needed. I'm handicapped and I could fall anytime so I just wear it around my neck. They're always there. Every year I have to get a new one because the battery runs out.
My daughter pick it. I've never use it, I've tested it but I never use it. They're okay but they're not always anxious to help, I had a question last week and they wouldn't help me, I had to call a sales person.

Thank you for the review. We hope you never do need to use our services! It sounds like you had some difficulties reaching our Customer Care team recently. We had been experiencing high call volume recently and wanted to assure you that we have taken steps to address this issue. You should have a much easier time reaching us the next time you call in. Feel free to reply directly to this message if you have any other questions or concerns. Have a lovely day!
Well there's only one complaint that I have is the size of it. Last year I had the small unit but now I got the one that has the wife and the GPS. It' s a larger unit and I'm a small person so it's a little harder to wear and carry it around than the other one that was. I assume my only dissatisfaction is that, I cannot carry it around my neck cause I have a neck problem. They're always good about answering
The advertising convinced me of getting it. I haven't had to use it yet. They answered my questions when I called. I think that the wrist band is OK to use.
Thank god I've never had to use it. Once I called them to make sure that the thing worked and they reassured me that it did. It's a handy thing to have.
I had two previous falls where I broke my arm and hip. After that I knew I needed to be able to call someone to come help me if that happened again. When I saw their ad on television I called them. The gentleman that I talked to first was a very good salesman and I decided to give it a try to see if what he had said was true. So far, it has been. I wear either the pendant or the wrist band whenever my husband is not at home or out of town. I check it and stuff once a month to make sure everything is working right. The only thing is that I don't really get good reception from the device. I only have 1 out of 5 bars of signal and it bothers me a little. Still, every issue I've ever called them about, they've immediately taken care of it. I wish I had something that I could use with me when I'm out of the house. I know there are some services that you can take with you on the car or just anywhere. I mean, I have my cellphone in my car with me all the time but still.

Hello Lynn, thanks for your review. We are happy to be there for you in your time of need. We would like to research your signal issue and discuss our Mobile device options that may suit your needs. You can contact one of our Customer Care Specialists at 1-800-313-1191 Monday-Friday, 9am-9pm EST and Saturday-Sunday, 9am-5pm EST. Thanks.
It has the items and the things that I wanted, I'm usually out in the house so I take the device with me when I'm out all the time and they're always answered all my questions promptly. The device, it does what it's supposed to do
The combination of the price and features and reputation. It's actually not me but my mother in law, she had a diabetic seizure almost, had to push it then had enough presence of mind to utilize it and rolled the MS. It did exactly what was supposed to do. The responsive, they held those who are more elderly, they are very patient and helpfully through the process including the unintended activation.
I didn't really have any choice, my children picked it for me. Most of the time, I've set off the alarm by accident because I leaned against something or another. It works though and it makes me feel very secure. I'm satisfied with it.
I compared various companies and talked to a few of them, they just seemed like the best one. Fortunately, I've never had to use it. I've tested it a couple of times and they always come on the line right away so I think they're good. From the test runs I've made it worked fine
Probably one of the big reasons I picked it was the price. To be honest with you we never had to use it but I try make sure my husband has that whenever I have to be out of the house. They will explain anything, any questions that we have and it is easy to use.
I had passed out, that was a long time ago. They always been there for me if I need them all I have to do is to press my button.
I had heard about it and saw it advertised, so I got it. I use that one that can travel with me when I go visit family, they live fifty miles away. I always get excellent service from their customer service representative. The button always works well, it never fails me. It also charges easily. I just find it to be very comforting to have it when I travel and I'm by myself.
I checked three different buttons after I saw some advertising for them. I wound up getting it for my mother and she wears it around her neck all the time. She only takes it off when she goes to bed. It has everything we need and it works very well. There's someone there all the time in case something happens.
It was just an ad on the TV and everyone was complaining to me that I need this in case I fall, I am totally alone with a dog and my dog does not know how to talk. I've use this several times and most of the time was when I fell out of my bed and I could not get up and I just lay there until the police came and then the medical guys came they got me up off the floor. They have always come when I needed within minutes. Well the alert thing that I wear around my neck is the wrist band that I sleep in cause I can't stand it around my neck, it always works the only problem I've had is I took the extra 9/11 button or remote, or whatever you want to call it you know like if I'm out in a car accident or I see someone messing with my car or anything like that, I can just push the button and use 9/11 button, so far that has never happened to me that I needed to use that thing.
When I first got it they kept calling me and hassling me about the payments and stuff. I thought that it was all due at the end of the month but it turned out it was due at the beginning. All I would have had to do is say change it, but they didn't bother. I've hit it by mistake several times and they're very prompt at answering when I do that. Though I'm thinking about getting a different company that can actually cover me all the time. This one doesn't have a cellphone or something that can do that.
My daughter decided for me. I haven't had to use it. Well it's just assurance, good assurance. I have not fallen, I am proud it's working fine.
It had a good reviews I don't use the device, I bought it for my mother, I've only talked to them once and they were very helpful.
Their transmission goes a lot further than other companies, I haven't had to use it yet but when I tested they're always right there.
It looked like it provided a lot of service for the low cost. I really haven't had to use it but it was accidentally pushed one time and we had a quick response, there is always someone there and quick.
After my second stroke my daughter said we needed some help and I agreed. We contacted different services and this one seemed to be the best one. This one I can travel with, I don't have to be sitting at my house all the time. Since I like going camping and traveling out of town, we went with it. I have had 3 strokes since then and have used it for all of them. Someone has beent there immediately and emergency services will be out here within minutes. It's so handy.
The salesman that I talked to on the phone convinced me of getting it. He was very nice and knowledgeable, so I took his word on the service. I have it around my neck and just assume that it works. I've never used it or tested it like they say I should every month.

Thank you for your faith in our services! We're happy that you have had a positive experience, but we do encourage you to test monthly as this ensures everything is working the way it should when you do need it. Have a great day!
I only had to use it once, I fell and broke my hip and I was in the middle of the night and I was home alone so thank god I had the button I pressed it and they I had to help right away. They are right there when I need them. One time I accidentally pressed the button by accident and immediately they came right away, that's what counts. It works it's great it is very good. I think they are wonderful. I recommend it to all my friends.
I have heart trouble and I needed something that I could rely on because I live alone. Oh I would never had to use it other that just testing but I do wear it when I'm on my treadmill. They've always answered any questions. It is reliable. I know that I have something in case I need a medical attention, they can send someone out if I can't reach the phone.
After investigating and researching, their equipment and the way you pay the fees fit with what we needed. It was easy to set it up with the help I got from them over the phone. The necklace's string is short and he can take showers with it without a problem. It's sturdy. He has accidentally pushed the button several times and they're always really prompt to check on him. They have been very helpful and polite. It's a comfort to know that it's there.
I only had to use it one time. My wife took a bad fall at home, so I called Medical Guardian and they got the fire department out here in less than 7 minutes. They're very professional.
My daughter bought it for me. I've used a couple of times when I fell and I had to go to the hospital. When that happened I got someone here within a few minutes.
It was a reference from a friend. I wear the bracelet and keep it fully charged. I fortunately have not had to use it but it does give me a sense of security. They've always responded to any of my recent questions. I'm a very old person but they've always given me good job information on how to make sure that might system is active. It's simple to use.
My son did some research and said he thought this was the best one. I've never used it. Well you know, whenever I've needed, when I tested my device they answered right away so it was very good somebody called me and talk to me . I have no problem with them or what so ever. I mean it's it's very comfortable I use it around my neck it doesn't bother me at all and you know like It and fortunately I've never had to use it.
Because it's convenient for my mom She never take it off, fortunately we haven't had to use it. This product is a very good product and we're very happy with it, she's the one using it and she loved it, she feels safe with it because they're always there for her.
Have a daughter who's occupational therapist that works with patients and she talked to her co-worker where she works and doesn't seem to come up with the best one available. Anytime I tested there right there had my grandson here one day and he said the button on my wrist and they were very very cordial and I don't have very many problems with it. The only thing is that on my device that gives the date and the time I have never been able to figure out what it's all about with the wrong date and time, I think it's out of whack and I do not know how to set it.

Hello Daniel, thanks for your review. We are happy to be there for you in your time of need. We will have one of our Customer Care Specialists will reach out to you shortly to discuss your Home Guardian display. Have a great day!
My daughter picked it for me. I have the device hanging around my neck all the time. I used it once when I fell and couldn't get back up. I got a good response from the fire department. It's like an insurance policy, I pay for it, have it on me all the time, and hope that I don't have to use it. In fact, the least I use it the better.
Actually it was the care givers that we had who recommended it, that's what they use so that was what they recommended. My mom used it just once and it was just that, she was in early stage Alzheimer and she was seeing people in her house and so that is how she got help with, she pushed the button around her neck. We tested it of course she used it once she had not have another emergency after that.

Thank you for the review. It appears that your mother has our Home Guardian, which has a range of 600 feet in all directions from its base station. We also offer two mobile units that can be used both inside and outside the home. if you are interested in hearing about either of these options, reply directly to this message and we will reach out to discuss further. Simply mention who you would like us to contact and the best contact number to do so. Any information shared in your response will not be posted to , it will only be shared with Medical Guardian. Thank you again for reaching out and have a lovely day.
They seemed to be the best one when I was looking at a different medical companies. I'm living home alone and so I figured to get something, I saw them advertised, this Medical Guardian and that's why I called them and it sounded really good, everything's working all just fine. I slipped in my shower, I got the call button at the bottom of my shower and stuff like that I hit it and the response is here immediately and things like that so it worked out really good. They're doing what they said they were going to do and that's exactly medical alert. I tried them and they keep up to what they are supposed to do and all that plus the price, I like the hanging pendant it's good and I got the shower button and everything like that, so yeah it covers the whole house and everything. I also got the medical pendant button if I'm going out and notifies me so yeah it works out really good.
I think probably choose it because of the price and what it included as equipment and because I was able to cancel if it didn't work out with in some time and it seems like they have fair reasonable terms. Well I don't really use it, is for my dad and that the only time I use is to test it and it seems to always working fine. Once, the power went out but then we reconnected it was working ok. We haven't had to use it actually, what happened is that my father was wearing it on his belt when he was driving and I think it he pressed the button and the ambulance service showed up and called my house. We thought it might have been a medical emergency but it wasn't, so I know that it will work.
My husband had a major stroke, I called the couple times and I didn't get a hold of anyone right away, I was nervous. Well I like the fact of the lock box where you could put your keys and that allows for medical people and the emergency systems if you needed to come in, because most of the time when you need someone it possibly because you've fallen or might be in the bathtub and can't get out to answer the door so you need the help but at same time the lock box with the keys makes it very convenient so I like that very much and I would recommend this to others.
One of my sons thought this was the best and chose it for me. I don't have any problems with it whatsoever. I used it a couple of times and had good results. My messages went through clearly and I got a quick response. I didn't have to wait for anything.
I just saw them on a magazine and decided to call them. I really haven't had any problems with it. When we call in for the monthly check up everybody there is nice even though we're basically wasting their time to check if things work. I used it when my husband fell in the bathroom. He wasn't talking and we thought he had a stroke, but things worked out. It gives us peace of mind.
I think the reason we picked it was the price and the availability. Well, he uses it when we go out to the doctor's or when I leave and he's alone, just in case he needs help when I'm gone. Anytime we need help they were right there we didn't have to wait for response. It's small enough to put on his belt.
It seem to fill my needs at the time I was looking. I haven't actually used it but its there if I need it and they have been comforting.
