Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $99. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.

Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

I saw it advertised and I just decided to go with them. I live alone in my apartment and I'm a little unsteady on my feet, so that's why I went with them. I was going to give them a call today because I'm having a problem with my payment plan. I have not paid one red cent since I've had this thing in December. I keep calling them and telling them I want to pay on a monthly basis and I don't hear anything from them. I want to get this straightened out. If I don't, I am going to drop off.

Nancy, we see that we spoke with you a bit earlier this month about your billing. Were we able to resolve your issue at that time? If not, please reply to this message directly and we will reach back out to discuss further. Have a great week!
We tried something else that didn't work. This particular one seems to have a longer range. If it goes off, somebody's speaks to my mother through the device. There's a problem there, because she can't hear them. It doesn't go off when it should, and it goes off when it shouldn't. They talk through the device, and for an old person who can't hear, that's not very good.

We thank you for reaching out regarding your mother's account. With regards to her inability to always speak through her speaker, our operators will always assume that an actual emergency is in progress if we cannot hear anybody on the other side. In an instance such as this, they would move forward with the predetermined emergency plan, which would ensure your mother gets the help she needs. We would like to look more closely at the concerns you mentioned regarding alarms going off when the shouldn't and not when they should. So we can best assist her would you be willing to help us locate her account? Any information provided in your response will not be posted publicly. If you could provide her full name, address and phone number, we will reach out to discuss her concerns and troubleshoot her device. Thanks again for the review and have a lovely week!
I looked online to see how they were rated. I don't have any trouble with the support. I've never had to push the button, but I'm not exactly thrilled with it. It needs to be charged so often that it's not available for me to have on. When I purchased it, I was told that you could go like three days without charging it, and that is not my experience. I find myself not having it on when I should, because I charge it and then I forget to put it back on.

Nancy, thank you for reaching out. We completely understand your concerns with regards to battery life. We will have a member of our Customer Care team reach out to troubleshoot and see if we can resolve your issues. Have a lovely evening.
I just read the reviews and saw that it had the fastest response time. I guess that made me pick Medical Guardian. I'm very pleased with it, and I'm pleased with the response I've got. They seem to be trustworthy as far as I'm concerned. I've had to use it several times because I've fallen, and since I've got problems with my legs, I can't get up. I've had to use it at least 3 or 4 times, it's been wonderful. Every time I called, I've had someone answer right away, and when I told them I've fallen they said they'd get somebody out here, which they did. I wish it weren't quite so heavy, but I can understand why it is. When you fall down a lot, you're willing to pay for safety, so I think you get your money's worth for it.
Someone had recommended it to me. I take it with me when I'm going to be outside, working my yard or something, but that's about all. I've never had to use it. Once or twice when I have dropped it, I had someone come on and ask me if I needed help, so I think that was very encouraging. I've also had a reminder when the battery was getting low, when I had not placed it in a battery box.
My husband has fallen a couple of times. I'm very hard of hearing, and I did not hear him. We didn't quite understand, when we first bought it, that the equipment was not the equipment that we wanted. We wanted one that would go off when he fell, and that's not what we first got. Anytime we had any questions, though, they've been very courteous, and very prompt to answer our calls. I think it's very affordable, and he just puts it on and leaves it on except for when he's taking a shower, and then he just hangs it outside the tub.

Thank you for the review. Just so you are aware, all of our neck pendants and wrist buttons are highly water resistant and rated for shower use. Feel free to reach back out if you have any additional questions!
It has the features I was looking for. I use it through the night. The customer support is good, and the device itself is very good.
I had compared the prices and availability. I needed a GPS because I'm active and my daughter insisted that I get one. I wish it were smaller and lighter; it shows under my clothes. I never had to use it, but they've responded twice when I was at work and I would lean against a desk and hit the button. They called me to be sure I was okay, so they're on the ball.
I have a medical condition so I needed to have something like this in case of a medical emergency. Overall its good.
The service was recommended by my primary physician. I'm pretty comfortable with the button and so far everything has been great. Fortunately we haven't had to use it yet but we've done tests once a month and so far they have been very responsive and quick to answer.
I researched a lot before going with them. I've had to use it 3 times already and they've saved my life every time. Communicating with them by using it has worked better than what I expected, everything is set up really well. They've always been there for me and answered any questions I've had. They've even called me a couple of times just to check on me. I actually didn't expect that at all.
It had one of the highest ratings I saw, but I don't really like the bracelet.

Sheryl, thank you for reaching out. Your Mobile Guardian has an option to be used with a neck pendant instead of a wristband. We will have a member of our Customer Care team reach out to discuss your options. Have a great week!

I was looking at a newspaper article, or something that was rating different services, and it was rated pretty high. My pendant is too long, and I can't figure out how to shorten it. That's my biggest issue.

It had the best price and I think I signed up for it right before my bone marrow transplant. I really like that they had the main device that you could call out on, I really liked the features of the camera. It seemed comparable to others and it offered more of the best options and the most features that came with it. I was able to carry the device around. It was nice to know that it's attached to my belt, and really, it was a good peace of mind that the signal it offered wasn't based on cell towers. I was always at peace knowing that I could call out anytime I needed. It also really helped my wife feel comfortable that if I was to get in to any type of trouble, she could easily get ahold of me. I carried it with me everywhere I went but I never had to use it to call out. They were very helpful with the testing, the station worked really well, the set up was really simple, the device work perfectly the whole time I had it, and it was easy to cancel.
I have it for my mother in law. They responded quickly when her bracelet broke. It's very easy to set up, it's wireless, it looks nice, and it's easily worn.
We looked at lots of others that worked for what I wanted, but we looked it up in a magazine and it recommended Medical Guardian. I already have recommended it, too. It does work but I've never had to use it in a situation. I just wear it most of the time, and I charge it at night. Shortly after I first started using it, they called to let me know that I forgot to charge it; that it was losing its power and I better charge it.
I did some research. I took a look at the complaints, the service, the overall rating, the cost, and what services they provide. If someone needed it, I would recommend it, because I bought one for my mother and one for an Aunt. I thought that the sales person I dealt with was very helpful. I felt that they were more interested in the services they were going to provide than in how much money they could make. If they could sell a particular unit, and you didn't need it, they did not sell that to you. They said, "really, you don't need that service, you need this smaller service which is less money." So I think they were customer-oriented. On customer service, they were always friendly, they always answered, they were always understanding if people made a mistake. My mom accidentally pushed the button, and they were always there to make sure that that she was satisfied, and that she wasn't having an episode. I do think that sometimes it's not as easy to use as I would hope, though. The wrist band that my mom wears does not have a microphone built into it, and as such, she can't talk to anybody if she falls down. All she could do is push the button, and have people come and do a response. The old one that I used to have for her had a microphone so that they could talk to her when she pushed the button, and I felt that was a better option.
I researched it for a while. The advertisement was pretty down to earth, so that's what I decided to go with for my eighty-seven year-old mother. I've been with it for a while and I'm happy with it. She wears it when she goes outside, or even when she's only in bed, so she's got it on almost all 24 hours, and that's about it. We've never had any incident where she had to use it. Every time we tested it or called, somebody was always right there. I've talked other people that had different units and they were always complaining about sound quality and have to hang on and wait and everything, but I have no problem with any of those issues. It's dependable, and I think it's reasonably priced also, compared to others.
I was in an automobile accident and the day after I got home, I felt really awful. I told my sister I felt I had to go to the hospital, and we used it to call the ambulance. They were very, very fast, they got here quickly got me to the hospital, they're very nice. It worked. I recommend it, but one thing I didn't like was that a man called me and he was just talking about an upgrade, and he just said "I'm going to send you that now." I said "Is there an additional cost?" and he said "yes" and I said "I'm sorry, I don't want that." I didn't like his presumption or the way he phrased it. I thought it was kind of underhanded. I just don't think they handled that well.
We have had to use it a couple of times when my father fell down. It hasn't ever failed. The response is very quick; they were there right away, and everything turned out good. They were extremely professional, fast and thorough, they explained everything, called me on the phone, and they took care of everything quickly. I researched it online before deciding on it, and everything is very good.
My mom wears her bracelet all the time. The button seems to be working ok. When we push it to test it somebody comes on and stuff, we haven't had any glitches. For the most part we've never had any problem with customer service either. They're awesome and have taken care of everything very easily. The only thing is that it took my brothers some time to change some information on the files that we had with them. They started yesterday and it took them until late this morning to get that done, but that has been the only experience of that kind that we've had.
All I can say is that I'm glad to have it at my age because you'll never know when you're goanna fall, slip or trip over something. My daughter chose it for me, and I tell my friends about it all the time. I use it all the time. The only thing is that I never did shorten the cord on it. I lean up against my sink and I trigger the alert... but I feel more safe when I have it on. They even call and let me know when my battery's getting low and to get it back on the cradle.

Alberta, thank you for the review. We're happy to provide you with a greater sense of safety. Regarding the cord on your unit, some customers change out the cord for one that better suits their needs. You are allowed to make this change if you wish. Feel free to reply directly to this message if you have any additional questions or concerns. Have a lovely day!
We've seen it advertised. I think they're fine, they always answer when I need it, so I recommend it.
I just went through all the companies that provide this service online and decided to go with them. I live by myself, have MS, and I've fallen and broken my arm before. Because of that I keep it around and wear it all the time in case I need it. I accidentally set it off during Christmas while I was wrapping Christmas presents. I must've hit the button by accident because they called me right back and asked me if there was something wrong or if I needed help. I just told them it had been an accident and they fixed things right then and there.
A friend recommended that I have it. I wear it most of the time, not all of the time. I haven't had to use it, fortunately, but they're very prompt in responding. It's convenient.
A friend recommended it. I prefer the bracelet one that looks like a watch. I've really never had to use it except for a test, but they are rapid'they answer right away.
It's very simple. It's easy to use and not complicated at all. I had the flu and was not well. I stumbled and fell, and I could not get up. I was able to reach my alert button, and that was it. Their operator called the EMTs, and they visited right off the bat and took good care of me, thanks to Medical Guardian. I was very glad to have it on hand. I could reach that button when I couldn't reach my cellphone, so that was even better. For anything I need when I call, even a call to test my equipment, they're very prompt, alert and polite.
My parents both carry the individual speaker with them, and they both wear the wrist bracelet or the around-the-neck device every day. We haven't had any equipment issues. They're tough customers, but they've had nothing but great things to say. There's never any issue hearing, or with the buttons'they always work'and we've never had any problems with anything failing. Their customer service is extremely helpful. They're always very responsive and willing to go above and beyond to answer any questions or concerns that we may have. We chose them based on previous experiences, and we recommend them all the time. We recently suggested Medical Guardian to a neighbor, and she jumped right on it as well. The price is right; it's very reasonable, especially for people who are on fixed budgets. You can't put a price safety though, and for my dad, it's been a life saver. I feel like all around they're just a great company.
Some friends decided for me, and I went along with it. I wear it around my neck all the time. The only thing I don't understand is, if I'm not within range of that speaker how does it work? I like the company; it's been fine. I'm just not sure how it will work unless you're within range of the thing.

Good question! If for whatever reason you cannot speak through the speaker, our emergency trained operators will assume an emergency is occurring and proceed accordingly. They will call your primary number and if no response is received they will proceed to dispatch emergency services. This ensures you get the help you need when you need it. Feel free to reply directly to this message if you have any other questions or concerns. Have a great day!
I'd heard about Medical Guardian online, and saw the reviews. It's for my grandma, and it just provides assurance that if something was to happen, you know that there's someone else looking out for her. It's convenient and easy for her to use.
My neighbor had just gotten gotten one for her mother, and she had done a lot of research, so I just took her advice and went with Medical Guardian. I think it's too heavy, in the winter I put it around behind my collar, but I wear it every day. I think it would be nice to have another device... something you could put in your pocket or something like that.
My son was the instigator in putting it in for us. We tried one other company, but he was not satisfied with them, and he went to Medical Guardian. They set it up for me and he decided it was the way he wants to go. I use the device by wearing it around my neck everyday, and I have one by my bedside at night. Fortunately, I have not fallen or anything like that. We've tested it, though. One time was when my daughter was here. I have a long walk to my mailbox. I walked to it and pressed the button, and sure enough, it worked back in the house, so that made us feel good.
I don't have like to have to keep up with the two different pieces, but I hope it's going to be there when I need it.
Pennie And Raymond Regnier
It became available to us at the right time, and I like the features that were offered; that we could be away from home nationwide. We're off away from home, and we can take the speaker device in the case they provided us. I usually carry it on the strap of my purse so it's very easy to get to if we would ever need it. I don't take mine off. I take mine through showers and everything so I don't have to worry about whether I have it on or not. My husband takes his watch and his device off at night along with other jewelry. If we even touch our buttons, there's someone on the speaker that answers the calls very quickly.
I recommended it to a few friends. I don't know if they will use it or not, but I recommended it. It's so simple to use; there's no difficulty at all. I got the one that goes on my wrist, and I put the receiver on my belt, so anytime I need it, it's right there. Anytime I ever called it, they're really nice to me and very helpful, so I feel like they're doing a really good job for me.
It's on all the time, monitoring me. I don't have any trouble with it, I'm pretty satisfied. It's what my doctor was using, and I feel safer with it here.
I decided it was our best option after seeing the advertising rating it number one. We haven't had to use it yet, but when I leave, my mom has it with her all the time, which makes me comfortable that if anything happened, she has instant access to 911. I haven't had that much experience with the customer service so far. Everything's been okay. I don't have full signal in my house, though. I live in a mobile home, so that makes it harder to have, but I would like to see full signal.
I Just chose it off of the internet for my husband. He falls a lot so he wears it day and night. They respond quickly, they're very good to call, and we're very pleased with them.
After doing research and doing comparisons of the product versus other products, that's how I determined which one is best. I'm satisfied with the cost since I did the initial comparison. I would highly recommend them. It is being used everyday with the wristband watch thing. It's comfortable and you really don't notice that it's there. From day one of getting the device, we had no issues with anything. If you called up for support, or to change the address, or anything, it was done immediately; a friendly service. Everything we have asked them and called them about, they have done, so we are satisfied with the product.
My daughter researched it online, and it had some of the best qualities that we were looking for, at a reasonable price.
I liked the range of service that it provides and the ease of use. There's no messing around, it's full range, and I've got a problem with falling, so the falling alert feature is very much needed. I put it on and wear it all day. If I forget to put it on, my wife reminds me very quickly. The device itself is very compact, it's easy to use once you get it set up, which isn't difficult. The response, in my experience from testing it, has been instantaneous. There's just no lag, never an outage or anything like that, so I'm very much assured by it. Fortunately, I haven't had to use it as yet except for testing, but the fact that it's there makes me feel a lot better.
It was the one that I chose over two or three other offers that I ran across. I haven't ever had to use it in an emergency situation, but I have on a monthly basis checked the system to be sure it's functioning. Each time I called I always had a positive feeling when I finished.
I decided on them based on their customer support. It's very helpful, and I like that you can get the device wet without any issues.
At night I wear the necklace around my neck, and when I'm at work I wear the unit on my belt. So far I've been lucky. I have never had to use it, but it gives me a peace of mind. I do a test call every month. I push the button and it always goes right through. Somebody is always there, and very helpful. Every time I call, they've always answered my questions to my satisfaction, and it's very quick service. I thought I lost it one time and they were goanna send me a new unit, but it was down inside a chair. I first saw an ad for it in AARP magazine, and I already have suggested it to people I know, because I've always had good quality service. When I first started I was paying it yearly, but now that I'm on a much more serious budget, they set it up for me to pay it monthly.
We looked around at all of the companies and decided that they had the best to offer. I wear the one that goes around the neck most of the time, though it does drive me crazy because it's itchy. I used it after I had gotten home from the hospital. I had come into the house when I fell down and they were quick to call, paid attention to me, and did what had to be done. They came out to help me and it all worked out very well. It kind of woke me up to just how good the service was.

We're happy that Medical Guardian was there when you needed us. We hope that you are doing well! With regards to your neck pendant, feel free to change out the lanyard to something that better suits your needs. Have a great day!
My sister in law helped me decide to go with Medical Guardian. I think it's a good company. I have the device with me when I shower. The people have been nice when I called in; I haven't had any trouble with them. My friend downstairs had a different company, and the fire truck came out two or three times because just by moving her arm, it would go off.
I had researched other companies, and they can't give me the undivided attention that Medical Guardian gave me. They answered all my questions, so they understand exactly why I needed it. I had a very bad heart condition and I kept passing out at the park. They told me "We're here to help you. We call your family members and other numbers that you give us. You don't worry about that; you just press the button and we're there to help you." It was like security for me. I love the medical device. I have the one for the wrist and it is awesome; can't beat it. I can wear it in the shower, wash dishes with it, o wear it if I'm out at the pool or the playground with my grand babies. I also love their customer service. I can call and ask questions anytime, and they answer them. One night I was on my way by myself to the hospital'I wasn't feeling well'and the agent stayed on the phone with me all the way until I got there. Once I arrived, I needed someone to help me get out of the car, and the police and ambulance were right there to help me, thanks to them. Another time, when I came home from church one Saturday, and my husband had been outside in the yard, he came in and said that he did not feel well. He sat down and passed out on the floor. Right then Medical Guardian came in handy because I had to use it for him. They were there to help me in a time of need. The person that came on the line stayed with me until the EMS came. It turned out my that he'd had a heart attack. I've been telling everyone at my church with medical conditions that they need to get one, and gave them as much information as I could about Medical Guardian. It's the best thing to have.
They were as good as any other program out there, so I got it. Their billing is atrocious though. They charged me on a card when I had told them to use a different one. They're not very customer oriented.

Thank you for reaching out. We apologize for the confusion. We will be looking into your billing concerns to ensure that we can resolve this situation for you. Have a great weekend!
I got it for my parents since we liked the benefits that they provided and the cost of it. The device is easy to wear and customer service has always been available for us. It's a very good support system and it gives my parents and I some peace of mind.

I read their reviews, and they got excellent reviews. When I bought it for my parents, I thought I got a good deal, but they sent it back, because my dad is a faller and I needed something for outside the house, like if he was in a store or something, not just inside the house. It was wonderful in the house, but he fell outside, and it didn't go off, because it wasn't for the outside. That was my mistake; I didn't get the one that was more mobile. Once they move into their new house, I'm goanna get the new one, where if they are out and something happens, I get notified right away. I do like the service I got, though, and they like the unit, too. They haven't had to use it except to test the unit, and I got an immediate response from them that there was activity. I like that it was immediate. I think it was a good value. I liked the gentleman I spoke with, and I liked how they helped my parents.
