Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $99. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.

Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

My kids decided to get it for me since I used to fall quite a lot. Fortunately I haven't had to use it, and I actually hope I never have to. I do wear the thing on me though and I have set off the alarm several times when I sit too fast or if I drop it. Any time the device goes off they're right there, calling me to see if I'm ok. They always come through when I need them.
My children were talking it over, and they felt that this is the best way, because I'm living alone. I think I like it. They gave me a device so that when I walk outside, I take the chain with me so that if I fall or something like that, they can find me where I am, in case I cannot come back to the house. That's nice, because it would take me a little while to get back to the house just to call them, that would be too much trouble. I haven't used it except for testing each month. I do that, and then I call them and they immediately call me back, so that was good. So far I am okay. I have had nothing traumatic happen to me. Every month I have to pay $29.99 or something like that. Maybe it's a little too much, maybe they can lower that price a little bit. That would be nice because I've never used it so far.
I had just checked out several companies, and I liked what they offered. It's for my mother, so she wears it all the time. I like the GPS part of it. Fortunately we haven't had to activate or use that because of her wandering, but I think it's very dependable. They've answered my questions, and are always willing to talk to me if I have a problem with anything, so it's working out well. I've already recommended and suggested it to people.
It seemed like the right one for us. It's convenient. It's hooked up and everything, but we haven't had to use it. They set up a test every month, and so far we could complete the test every month. It's great.
We looked it up online and read the other comments and stuff like that. I wasn't too concerned about the cost when I picked it. I would recommend it. The only time I've used it is when I check to make sure it's working. They've always answered. A couple of times it took quite a while to get answered, but they seem to be better the last couple times I did it.
I looked online with my daughter, and we just liked what it said. I had used a different company before and I did not like it. With this one I have not had any problem, and when I set it off accidentally, they call right away and everything is fine. I just feel very secured and protected. I would recommend them.
My granddaughter thought they were the right company for me, so she made the decision to get it. With it I have some way of contacting someone that can come and help me in case I need it, even while I'm outside. I haven't had to use it yet. On a typical day I tend to go out to the street so I put on the wristband, of course. I don't necessarily like wearing the necklace and have it dangling from my neck. With the wristband I have no problem working or moving around. Every time I've pushed the button to test it, I've received a response.
This one is quite adequate for me since it works when I'm away from home. I had to adjust the machine since it was a little short and a bit heavy, but considering what it does it's quite good. I haven't had to use it for an emergency, thank goodness for that, but I've set it off by accident and the service that I've received has been fine. When I lean on it and push the button by accident they are very quick to call and notify me about it. They check in on me, make sure that it's not an emergency, and that's that. I feel that they're there for me when I need them and also when I don't. My biggest problem is that sometimes I forget to put it on. I just need to be reminded to bring the thing with me when I leave. Everything else has been smooth though.
My son went online and looked it all up after I had a knee replacement. He found that this was going to be the best one, and I have recommend it to a number of other people too. I'm not sure about one thing, and that is that if I'm upstairs and I fall while I have it around my neck, and the main device is downstairs, I don't think I can talk to anybody. I wear the device around my neck whenever I'm at home, and I take the other thing with me every time I go out, and just keep it with me in case. I have called to check every month, but they never told me to do that until a year later. Sometimes, if you haven't done it for a while, it takes forever to answer, but if you do it once a month like they suggest, it's fine. Every time I've had a question, I've called and gotten it answered very easily.
I wanted the wrist unit instead of the thing around your neck. I just put it on in the morning, and take it off at night when I go to bed, and place it by the side of the bed with me. It's easy to put on my wrist when I leave the house.
I had to call for a emergency service with it once, but I had trouble with my the one that hangs around my neck. It misfired and it kept calling them, but they sent me a new one. My husband decided on it originally, but it was really a problem. All night it was going off, and he was really mad. It was very, very bad.
I like the sales representative better than the other company I talk to, but it was sold to us like my mother could communicate to the person on the other end of the line, and speak with the medical alert team verbally anywhere within a certain range, but it doesn't cover that range. The people had been very nice, but really the product was misrepresented to us in the sales pitch. Other than that it's been positive; everybody's been nice and helpful.
It's my mother who uses it. I'm satisfied with it. We've had no issues with it, and we've been happy with the service. We didn't have to call them for anything. Everything that we read about it said it was the best one, basically, and it appears it's goanna work when it needs to. Every time we tested it, it's worked perfectly.
They advertised having trained professional staff available to respond to emergencies on the phone. I have not had an opportunity to use it, which is good. We've had some erroneous pressing of the button. It's only happened a couple of times but they've been very nice about everything, and they respond right away, so I really don't have any complaints. Whenever I have called, they've always been helpful, answered my questions with precision, and got it done quickly.
I found the company by chance. I've never had to use the customer support, but I've hit it for accidentally and they always answer. I've needed a way to turn it off before I accidentally hit it, and I never found a way to turn it off.
I usually wear it when I'm out and about. They have been very attentive whenever I fall.
I have never had to use it; typically I just wear it all the time, and it does fine. I don't know I'm wearing it, so I don't pay attention to it. I never hear from them. I thought originally it said that they would contact me once a month to check to be sure that the device was working, and they never have. I contacted them several times, they had never contacted me.

They had the best reviews when I looked online. I've only had to use it once so far when I had pneumonia. I was quite satisfied with the device, it fulfilled its purpose very well. Customer service was good as well.
My children decided on it for me. it's good, and I assume it's going to work. I'm happy with it, and I have recommended it, but it's up to them whether they need it or not.
My son did some research and he found that it was the best one. I would recommend it. I use around my neck it when I go out, or if somebody isn't here with me. It's very easy to wear.
My son got it for me because I almost died. I'm using it right now because I'm alone. I have accidentally bumped mine, and they keep calling back until they get an answer, to make sure I'm okay. They're concerned, they're prompt, they're friendly, they're helpful, and I feel more comfortable when I have to be alone, because right now I can't walk. I broke my shinbone and I can't put weight on it. I'm in a lot of pain so I'm sitting here with that on my neck in case something were to happen, a fire or whatever. I could have somebody break in if I had to. I could ring that bell and I know there would be someone there to help me.
It just seems to fit what we needed. So far we haven't had to use it. They answered my need each time we called, and it seems pretty easy for her to operate.
My daughter looked into it and thought they were better than the rest, so she got it for me. I haven't had to use it yet, but they have been right there for me when I needed them. It gives me a sense of security.
It's comfortable. A couple of times it was accidentally pressed, they responded quickly and courteously. It's convenient and easy to operate, and to set up, so I'm pleased so far. No problems.
I looked through a few other companies, and this one offered what seems like a better service. I can pick up and take my main device with me wherever I go. As long as it's charged, it will work anywhere. I have a bracelet that I wear around my wrist and I have a necklace. As long as I am within range of the actual base, I could use those two devices to make calls, so it's convenient technology. I've only had to use them once, and I hope I never have to use them again, but I feel like if I did, they they respond quickly. They are precise, they ask the right questions, and they are calm when they're on the phone. They pay attention to what I'm saying. They didn't make me wait a long time to answer me. They took the call very quickly which is critical for me. I pressed the button to call and it took them maybe three seconds to answer. Once I stated what was wrong and I told him where I was, the emergency people were there in a matter of minutes. Once I hung up the phone, I could already hear the sirens.
I like that it will follow me wherever I go; that I do not have to stay in one location all the time. I use it when I walk, when I'm definitely alone and I need to be sure that somebody was available if I needed them. I appreciate their alertness; they're always available and they do answer me immediately when I need them. They are very courteous. I just enjoy having them, and having that comfort and security they give me. It's been very positive overall.
I just had a feeling that it would be the best company. They're just wonderful. My mother fell and was unconscious, and her friend had Medical Guardian too and knew what to do, so she pushed the device. They contacted me and the squad came, and I'm very, very glad that her friend got hold of her and used the Medical Guardian.
I was convinced by the saleswoman who handles the account. I haven't had the time to use it other than testing it. I'm not recommending anything to anyone. I think it worked okay, but it's AT&T rather than Verizon. AT&T does not have a good signal where I live, and it's sure a longer wait time to contact someone.
I tried another one that didn't work very well, so I tried this one. So far I do know that sometimes when I accidentally hit the thing I get a call from them wondering if everything is okay, so I think they're pretty good. It's nice to have. I just put it in my pocket and I forget about it unless something happens. I don't know of anything that's wrong with it.
I saw some convincing advertising. I've called a couple of times to just test it and whatnot, and everybody's been very cordial. It's just very convenient.
My youngest daughter provided it for me. I put it on a charger when I go to bed, I take it off the charger when I get up in the morning, and I keep it on me all day. I would like some way to guard against bumping it by mistake. Customer support is wonderful, because I keep bumping it by mistake, and these poor people are on my list to have to call me, but I've been fine so far, so I know it works.
I fell a couple of times and my son decided to order it. I've never had to use it, thank goodness, but I was outside one day, and I leaned over to do something and I guess I pushed it. All of a sudden all these cops and medical people came in, and it was unbelievable. I was embarrassed, but it worked!
Marcyle And Walter Voigt
I usually use it mostly around the shower, in case anything happened, or if I have to carry something heavy down the stairs. I do feel safe having it if I ever have to use it, and it's around if I ever need it.
My neighbor recommended it. She had a Medical Guardian and she had one of the representatives get in touch with me, so I was persuaded. I've been satisfied so far. I only use it in my apartment and in the surrounding areas. I can use it for about half a mile around my building. I didn't get the full thing'I didn't think I needed it, because I have a cell phone with a special device on it that I can use if I'm far away from the house. It's good to know that I can use it in the shower, and whenever I'm walking around in the building alone It's useful to have it, and I think it's very worth while for the money.
I'm not really sure if it is the right medical company for me because when I push the button every month to test it, it takes seven or eight times. It says "the operator will be coming, the operator will be coming..." It takes so long, a person could drop over dead waiting for the operator to come on. I'm not happy with that and I wouldn't go with them again or recommend them. It shouldn't take that long. I think there's also lower-priced ones out there on the market.

Lena, thank you for your review. With regards to response time, you should get a response in under 60 seconds under typical conditions. We would like to look into your situation to ensure your device is working as it should. We will be in touch shortly to discuss your concerns. Have a great day!
I like the whole idea of it. I researched it on the internet, and I use it everyday. The only time I ever set it off was by accident and they were always so polite and understanding and fixed it right away.
I live alone and I'm 96 year old. I think it's very, very handy, and I know that it'd be easy if I needed help. I'm very happy with everything.
I was falling quite often at the time. A friend of mine had it and was satisfied with it. Since the price was reasonable too I decided to get it. I haven't had a fall or a reason to use it, but I know they're always there if I need them. I feel very confident having it on me all the time and I'm very satisfied so far.
I think it's very good, and think it's affordable for people like me. I am very satisfied with it. My grand kids set it off twice, so they called right away to see if I was OK.
It not only does local coverage, but it does expanded coverage outside the home. I had a little difficulty getting us their charger in the beginning, but that was it. Not quite perfect but very close. A typical day is that I'll put it on in the morning and basically wear it throughout the day. I actually haven't had to use it in an emergency condition yet. The device is easy to use, but the the battery life could be longer, and I think that with this technology, it could be smaller.
It was a random call to sell it to me, I believe, but I'm very pleased with the result. I think it's a very good company. I think it's a little pricey, but I'm not unhappy with it. We use it when I leave the house, and my husband wears a bracelet. We've never had to use it, but it got pressed by accident once, and the response was immediate. They contact the local EMS as well as the Arcadian ambulance service when it was pressed, and both were out here immediately. They also respond very quickly to the test call that we make monthly.
It covered everything. I was concerned about not just being around my house, and if I travel, but it goes by satellite. I keep the equipment with me when I travel in the car. I haven't had occasion to use it yet, and I hope I don't. I wear it every day in case I fall. They have done everything they said they would do, and if I wasn't satisfied they would refund my money. I'm satisfied with the prices I was quoted. It was a yearly quote, and it's guaranteed not to change, so everything so far is fine. I'm happy that I'm wearing it. They call me occasionally to find out how I'm doing, or why I haven't called, or if I'm okay, instead of me calling them and testing the equipment. So I think they're very excellent on their feedback.
My husband has actually hit it accidentally, and when he did, they responded right away. They called and spoke to me immediately, and I said no, he just accidentally touched it while in the shower. My daughter was the one who researched and decided on it, and then we went along with it. I have no complaints, but I don't think I would recommend it to anybody, because I don't want people to know that we even have it.
My equipment arrived and I was never able to get the lock box opened. I had three different men trying to do it. I called their office, I got the information, they showed me how, and it still didn't open, so that was never used.

I did a check on the internet, and I just thought that was a better one or the best one. I use it as a necklace, it's just convenient. I have not had to use it, but I've called in just to test it several times. I put it on when I get up in the morning, and I'd take it off and laid it laid on my bed set at nighttime. If I have to get up in the middle of the night, I put it back on.
I did look at several systems before choosing Medical Guardian. All you have to do is hit it, unless you're using the one you wear in case you fall. I put that on in the morning because that's when most of my MS attacks happen. You don't have to dial anything. When I'm having a relapse and attack I can't dial anything. I need something I can just hit with my hand. They give you a lock box for the outside could put your keys in so that the paramedics could get in without breaking your door. When I have a attack I cannot walk so I can't go to open the door, and I really needed that feature. I think it's money well spent, not only for me, the patient, but also for family members, because they know that pretty much if anything's happening not only will they get a phone call, but it gives them peace of mind. Everybody's easy to deal with, easy to understand, and just wants to be helpful. It is helpful. I was having an MS episode at five o'clock in the morning once. All I had to do was hit my my phone thing, and the woman came on and asked what's happening. I said I need help, and she said help is on the way, and the paramedics came.
After researching online I thought they'd be the best fit for me. I actually haven't had to use it but it's comforting to know that they are there for me if and when I need them. I know that because the alarm has gone off on the device and there's always someone available to answer me. They're a wonderful bunch of people too. The service is a bit more expensive than some of the other services I looked at, but it's great value. I know they'll be there when and if I need them.
The cost was an important consideration for me. I use it especially when I travel. I like to carry it with me when I hit the road, but the device is too heavy, so I don't wear it around my neck. I carry it in my pocket because it's just too heavy. I don't like that, so at the end of the year I'm not going to renew it. I had it in my pocket while I was at the grocery store, and I must have bumped it. They immediately started talking to me and wanted to know if I was OK, so I would say that their response time was perfect.
I found it through other reviews and got it for my father. The device is easy to wear and to use though typically he has only used it by accident. They've responded in time and came out here immediately every time though. We did have some problems with the first response that we got since they used the wrong phone number.
We liked the ease with which it was able to contact various groups of emergency personnel when needed.
