Boots is an international online retailer of makeup and beauty products. They ship to 25 countries throughout the world, including the US. The Boots US headquarters are in Shelton, CT.
The Boots US store offers the following brands: No7, No7 Men, Botanics, Indeed Laboratories, Boots Expert, Champneys, Poppy King, Boot Extract, and Mark Hill. In addition to makeup, the site carries skincare, hair, and bath and body products, as well as beauty kits and men's grooming products.
Customers can get free shipping on orders over $25.00, which is the best free shipping offer of all the makeup stores we reviewed; most of the other online makeup stores don't offer free shipping unless the order is over $50.00.
Boots offers special promotions through their email list. Signing up is free, however customers will need to provide personal information like their name, email address, state and birthday month. Customers can also customize the types of promotions they receive by specifying their specific skin concerns and what beauty topics they would like to receive more information about.
The Boots US store has a Customer Care link in the footer of their site. Users can search through different Help topics in the following categories: Ordering & Payment, Shipping & Returns, Safety, Privacy & Email, and General Information. Customers can also choose to fill out an online contact form to email a question directly to the customer service department, or call the 888-number.
While Boots US offers a variety of products from the nine brands it carries, the UK store carries a much larger selection of both US and European brands. However, the UK site doesn't ship to the US. This means that customers who shop Boots US won't be able to purchase some of the major makeup brands like Revlon, M.A.C. or Lancome.
Boots offers returns within 30 days of purchase, however this only applies to new, unopened items. If a customer isn't pleased with a skincare or makeup purchase that has been used, a return isn't possible. This is a disadvantage to using Boots, as many of the other makeup stores we reviewed allow returns for makeup products that have been tried.
There is no mobile app for Boots US. The website also doesn't offer tutorials, beauty tips or inspiration boards like many other makeup store sites. Customers hoping to learn new techniques or tips may prefer a site like M.A.C., which offers videos, tutorials and access to makeup artists.
Boots also doesn't offer a loyalty program for customers hoping to take advantage of rewards points or membership perks.
I will never again order from Boots. I ordered something over a 6 weeks ago, still have not received it. I called 3 weeks ago and after being on hold for a long time they said I'll receive it in 2-3 weeks. Called again today, on hold for 30 minutes and they told me it won't come for 4-6 more weeks!
