Mango Languages is a language learning software platform founded in 2007 and headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan. It offers instruction, adapted to your learning style, in over 70 languages and offers several different learning tools:

  • Critical-thinking exercises
  • Memory-building exercises
  • Grammar notes
  • Cultural notes
  • Pronunciation practice, including voice comparisons
  • Understood and literal meanings of phrases
  • Semantic color mapping to help understand grammatical structure
  • Intuitive language construction-based on vocabulary, pronunciation, culture, and grammar

Mango uses a building block approach with each chapter's material introduced by native speakers. It includes context, new vocabulary, retention practice, and cultural context for big-picture learners.

Mango Languages is available online and via Apple and Android apps.

Interested consumers can try a free lesson online, but choosing a subscription is necessary to continue. There are a couple of different options:

  • Single language subscription — $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year
  • Full access subscription to all 72 languages, with 5 profiles available on your account — $17.99 per month or $179.99 per year

Both subscription options have a 14-day free trial.

One interesting thing is that Mango Languages is available to use at lots of public libraries and institutions with your online login. You can even check by plugging in your zip code on the site to see where you can use it for free nearby.

Mango has a great online language learning program, which is pretty similar to a lot of other programs that are on the market, for a competitive price. The lessons are short and manageable, and they also have some free instruction videos on youtube that are helpful if you aren't willing to pay for the subscription. You won't get as much out of them as you do the lessons, but they are a fun aide if you're using another program like Duolingo for free.
