Identity Theft Protection

LifeLock provides several identity theft protection services in an effort to catch identity theft and identity fraud before it happens.

LifeLock customers can receive credit monitoring services (See disclaimer below) from all three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion), dark web monitoring, data breach notifications, social security number monitoring, financial account monitoring, and more.

***Disclaimer: If your plan includes credit reports, scores, and/or credit monitoring features ("Credit Features"), two requirements must be met to receive said features: (i) your identity must be successfully verified with Equifax; and (ii) Equifax must be able to locate your credit file and it must contain sufficient credit history information. IF EITHER OF THE FOREGOING REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT MET YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FEATURES FROM ANY BUREAU. If your plan also includes Credit Features from Experian and/or TransUnion, the above verification process must also be successfully completed with Experian and/or TransUnion, as applicable. If verification is successfully completed with Equifax, but not with Experian and/or TransUnion, as applicable, you will not receive Credit Features from such bureau(s) until the verification process is successfully completed and until then you will only receive Credit Features from Equifax. Any credit monitoring from Experian and TransUnion will take several days to begin after your successful plan enrollment.

Identity theft can ruin everything from credit scores and credit reports to taxes and savings accounts. Thus, LifeLock offers multiple identity theft protection services to help customers find the protection and security they are looking for.

Restoration Services

In the event that a LifeLock member becomes a victim of identity theft, the company will offer a number of recovery services to help restore the customer's identity to pre-theft status. This includes a dedicated identity restoration specialist and lost wallet protection.

Additionally, LifeLock assists with financial, medical, criminal, and tax identity recovery. For a fee of $300, LifeLock will also work with customers who have pre-existing identity theft conditions.

The identity protection service provider will notify customers (via alerts) of potentially fraudulent activity and will help customers determine how to handle the threats.

LifeLock will also monitor customers' information around the clock so customers can rest with a peace of mind.

LifeLock's website also provides a list of helpful identity theft protection advice and educational resources (regarding credit reports, credit score monitoring, social security cards, credit freezes, and personally identifiable information) for customers to access at any time.

Money-Back Guarantee

The identity theft protection company offers a 60-day complete money-back guarantee to annual LifeLock account members that request a refund within the appropriated 60 days post-billing.

Meanwhile, many other companies in the identity theft protection industry do not offer a complete money-back guarantee with their services. LifeLock's refund promise emphasizes the company's confidence as well as its service guarantee.

Pricing

LifeLock offers three identity theft protection options to choose from: the Select plan that costs $9.99 per month (for the first year), the Advantage plan that costs members $19.99 per month (for the first year), and the Ultimate Plus plan that costs $29.99 per month (for the first year).

Best Company visitors can use the promo code "BestCom," to get 25% off for the first year (compared to the renewal price), of all LifeLock identity theft protection options. Terms apply. These options include social security number alerts and credit alerts.

Within the industry, LifeLock's plans are priced at lower rates and allow customers the flexibility to choose how much they want to invest in identity protection services and fraud security.

Mobile App

Customers can get access to the LifeLock mobile app that allows them to receive and respond to alerts while on the go and easily obtain customer service help through the in-app member services feature.

With the LifeLock mobile app, customers can access their credit scores from all three credit bureaus depending on their plan. According to the LifeLock website, the LifeLock app also includes "dark web activity detection, fictitious identity monitoring, court records scanning, and investment account activity alerts."

Overall, the mobile app is an extra feature that helps protect customers from identity theft and identity fraud.

The Bad

  • Device Security Availability

Device Security Availability

In terms of device security, LifeLock has plenty to offer. Unfortunately, some of the device security options that the company offers are not available to all devices.

According to the company's website, the Family Parental Controls, Cloud Backup, and SafeCam options are currently not supported on Mac OS.

The Bottom Line

LifeLock offers extensive protection services as well as identity restoration services including stolen wallet protection to those who have fallen victim to identity theft or fraud from a stolen identity event. Additionally, the company offers a Million Dollar™ Protection Package and 24/7 live member support customer service.

LifeLock's Million Dollar™ Protection Package covers stolen or lost documents, travel expenses, lost wages, and more (See "Million Dollar™ Protection Package" for details and accompanying disclaimer). The company also provides educational resources, a money-back guarantee, a detailed LifeLock mobile application, and reasonable pricing in comparison to other protection services.

LifeLock has three identity protection plan options that members can choose from - the Select plan, the Advantage plan, and the Ultimate Plus plan.

The company's plans can include credit, social security, bank account, credit card, and crimes/other alerts as well as credit report and credit score monitoring and updates from all three major credit bureaus, etc.

The one major downside of the company is that some of its device security options, such as the Family Parental Controls, Cloud Backup, and SafeCam options, are not supported on Mac OS devices, which may limit some LifeLock account members from having additional protection against identity theft and fraud.

Above all, if you are looking for a reliable company to help protect your identity and personal information from theft and fraud, LifeLock is a great company to choose from.

***Reimbursement and Expense Compensation, each with limits of up to $1 million for Ultimate Plus, up to $100,000 for Advantage and up to $25,000 for Standard and Select (Norton 360 with LifeLock Select). NortonLifeLock Frequently Asked Questions

What is identity theft and am I at risk?

Identity theft is a crime in which someone accesses information to commit fraud, typically by getting false credentials, opening new accounts in someone else's name or using someone else's existing accounts. In the United States, identity theft is a serious crime. You can take steps to help avoid having your identity stolen, but first, you'll need to know how identity theft occurs and how to spot it.

How does identity theft happen?

There are a lot of ways identity theft can happen to you. Hackers may get your information from a data security breach. Or, you may unknowingly provide it on social media, during conversions others can hear or by leaving financial documents in unsafe places. That information may include: Full name, address and birth date Social Security number Car insurance or medical insurance account numbers Credit card or bank account numbers Details that can tip off people to your account recovery questions, such as your mother's maiden name or your home town With this information, criminals could impersonate you, max out your credit cards, rent an apartment, steal your frequent-flyer miles or act out in a number of other ways.

What types of identity theft are there?

You've probably heard about — or have experienced — thieves stealing credit card numbers or money from a bank account. To help catch this kind of identity theft, set up account alerts, scan your credit card and bank statements, and look for charges you don't recognize. Types of theft to look for include:  Tax identity theft — A crook files a tax return in your name and steals your refund. Medical identity theft — A thief steals a health insurance card and gets medical care or prescription drugs on behalf of you. Criminal identity theft — Someone commits a crime and gives the police false identifying information. Child identity theft — A thief opens accounts using a child’s Social Security number.

What are some ways thieves can steal my information?

Offline:  Shoulder surfing — Thieves peek over your shoulder as you type sensitive information into a computer, phone or ATM. Or they may listen as you make a call and provide your account information. Dumpster diving — A thief sifts through your garbage can. Discarded checks and credit card statements are just two sources of valuable personal information. Online: Public Wi-Fi –— Public Wi-Fi usually doesn't encrypt data, so anyone with the Wi-Fi password and some hacker know-how can monitor what you see and what you send. The hacker could commit identity theft if he or she intercepts your information. Unencrypted websites — Make sure a website is encrypted before you use it for a financial transaction. Typically, you'll see a picture of a lock in the URL field, and the URL will contain "https," meaning it's secure. Phishing — When thieves contact you from a phone number or email address tailored to look familiar and trustworthy, their goal is to take personal information from you.

What should I look out for and what are warning signs of identity theft?

Beware of emails that have bad spelling or grammar, an unprofessional email address, urgent requests for information, or any type of attachment or link.  Also look for these common warning signs from the FTC: Withdrawals from your banking account that did not come from you Bills you generally get are no longer coming to you Calls about debt that you do not owe Unfamiliar charges to your account Medical bills for service you did not receive A letter from the IRS stating more than one tax return was filed in your name or that you have income from an employer you never worked for A company where you do business notifies you that your personal information was accessed in a data breach A sudden drop in your credit score online

How do I recover from identity theft?

It happens, and reacting quickly might be the most important thing to do when it does. Follow these steps if you are a victim of identity theft:  Inform the business where your information was misused about the fraudulent activity. Close these accounts. File a police report. Contact the three major credit reporting bureaus — TransUnion, Equifax and Experian — and consider putting a fraud alert on your credit. This ensures future creditors will take extra steps to verify your identity first. Consider a credit freeze, which is stronger than a fraud alert and ensures no one can use your credit to open new accounts. You'll still need to monitor existing accounts. If you don't have a credit monitoring account, consider setting one up. Change your passwords, so they're strong and unique, for all your online accounts.

What can I do to protect myself from identity theft?

No one can prevent all identity theft, but there are ways to help protect yourself. You can read about ways to help protect yourself from identity theft in more detail online, but some basic precautions include: Avoid carrying your social security number, and keep it in a safe place. Do not give out the number unless it’s absolutely necessary. Don’t respond to unsolicited inquiries about your personal information like phone number, email address, name, bank account information, etc. Always collect your mail as quickly as possible and place a hold when you’re away.  Enable the security features on your mobile devices. Contact your financial institution if statements are late. Review your credit card and financial statements for unauthorized transactions. Shred any mail or document that contains personal information. Install firewalls and virus-detection software on your home computer. Use complex passwords and change them periodically. Review your credit reports annually. You can get a free credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus once a year.

What is LifeLocks Million Dollar Protection™ Package?

My wife and I have been with LifeLock since October 2007. I normally receive at least an annual account update which is a report of all credit card accounts and our overall credit status. I feel this is a great process as I would most likely forget to review these myself. Overall I feel that LifeLock is an excellent program that continues to do what I am paying them to do ! I must admit I am shocked that LifeLock does not cover our accounts with some form of antivirus protection , leaving our accounts open for all types of nefarious acts. This is quite disturbing to me as I had no idea or this exposure. .

I got LifeLock a long time ago. I had gone through a nasty divorce in 2003 & my ex kept all of our tax returns so he had access to my SSN. My current husband WAS a victim of identity theft approximately 20 years ago. Keeping all of this in mind, I thought it was a very good idea to obtain this kind of credit monitoring/protection. Good thing too. Almost 4 years ago, someone used my husband's information to try to open cell phone accounts with 3 different carriers. LifeLock contacted us & all 3 accounts were denied. I only wish that LifeLock would be able to, at least, tell me in what state these cell phone accounts were attempted. We have our suspicions as to whom it was but cannot prosecute without more information.

Lifelock is very good at monitoring if you take the time to enter your accounts, settings and complete the whole set up of your account. If you don't then it will not be as effective as it can be. LifeLock stopped some one from taking out a credit card in my name. Without LifeLock the person trying to get the credit card probably would have been successful and i wouldn't have known. I received an alert from LifeLock and they assisted me with blocking the credit card. The LifeLock representative set up a call to the credit card company and was on the call to ensure all went well. The alerts received may not be the day the charge is made there are a few factors involved like when the charge appears on your account and limits you have set for notifications. you don't want to get an alert every time you use your debit or credit to make a $20 purchase. Credit applications or major purchases can take a few days to make it through the system for LifeLock to know they have occurred.

As a customer who is a Lifelock ultimate member, I expected quicker alerts. I would definitely give this a 5 star, but unfortunately when I am alerted, its usually 3 days or a week after I have made a transaction. The dates of the transactions do not match. For example I made a transaction on Friday the 10th. It should clearly show Friday 10th not the 17th. Its confusing to say the least. Or if there is suspicious activity of someone using my ss#, etc to try and open credit cards, the alert I am given should be on the same day....not days after the perp is attempting to succeed. I will hope that Lifelock will improve on its alert timing.

I woke up recently one Saturday morning to a LifeLock alert that someone was trying to open a line of credit with my personal information. That was followed by four more notifications. In the same time frame, my wife had three fraud attempts. We immediately contacted LifeLock and the support never stopped. By the end of the week, all fraud attempts had been terminated, the Resolution department had contacted the credit bureaus for an extended fraud alert on my accounts, and requests were placed to have the inquiries removed from our files. I'd have never known until it was too late if LifeLock hadn't been on watch for me. I stood the watch in defense of our nation for almost 30 years...I'll never have the words to describe the feeling of relief I have for the support I got from LifeLock when I needed them most to safeguard the financial security my wife and I have established throughout our working lives. Thank you LifeLock for standing the watch!

Even though I daily check on bank credit card balances and spending it still bothered me that someone could steal my ID and open a new account for which I would have no knowledge of. Finally I decided to open a different credit card account to take advantage of better terms. The application for the account was approved and the card was sent to me. Much to my surprise Lifelock informed me that a new account had been opened in my name the very next day. Happily I was able to report that yes I had opened that account. It did resolve my fears that if someone were to attempt to open a new account under my ID that I would be notified of the action. I am a very satisfied customer of Lifelock and plan to stay with them forever. Lee

Lifelock called me on a Saturday morning personal no recorder a live person, asking about activities going on with our credit. The things they saw was shocking and made me sick to stomach. Someone had gotten my information and start purchasing things all across the United States. Lifelock walked us through the steps we needed to take. Contact the police to file a report, our credit cards, banks and they took over. We was updated weekly sometimes twice a week of what was happen with fixing my credit. It was a very stressful time, but they FIXED IT. Thanks Lifelock we couldn't or haven't stop singing your prays. Verma Sweet

After being enrolled in LifeLock for over seven years I finally had cause for contacting their Customer Support. I was not disappointed. Although the cryptic message that I initially received from LifeLock was confusing and curt once I contacted Customer Support I received a response the following day that explained the initial message as well as why it was cryptic and curt to the untrained eye. I appreciated the fact that not only was I informed that my identity and credit were not in any danger but what the message meant, how the information had been collected and how I may see variations of the information in the future. This explanation not calmed my current concerns but prepared me for how to understand future reports without undue panic and fear that my information has been compromised.

I had $16-thousand dollars worth of charges on my credit card. When the credit card company contacted me I learned that previously an imposter requested a replacement for my "damaged" credit card. They had all my personal info including social security number. The replacement card was requested to be sent to my home address. I did not request nor receive the replacement cards. My retirement community has outdoor mail centers with locked boxes. How these crooks accessed my mail is a mystery but, obviously, they got hold of the mailed replacement cards and used them.. Lifelock helped me put 7-year fraud alerts on both my husband's (he's an authorized user on the credit card) and my credit bureau reports. The alerts were done over the phone ,which was quick. My rep, Kenneth, was very patient, helpful, well-informed and sympathetic. I now have only the basic Lifelock plan and I'm going to upgrade to the full plan as these swindlers are very clever and I think the average person needs help to out-think them. I only gave four stars because I've just given the case info to Lifelock and I 'm just beginning to use their monitoring service, which means I haven't experienced their service to the fullest extent yet.

I thought I was to smart to be conned but recently I got a call and the caller made me believe he was from MicroSoft. He told me some changes needed to made to my pc. He was telling me on the phone what to do, then I saw him take control of my pc, then I knew he was a hacker and he had control of all my pass words and my debit card. I told him I had to get off for about 30 minuts to help my neighbor and told him to call back then. At that point I called LifeLock and the man I talked with was so sweet. He told me I needed to call the bank immediately to get anotoher debit card and to change all my passwords Which I did. But most of all the man I talked with at Life Lock calmed my fears and helped me to calm down. Best counselor I've ever had. By the time the hacker called back, Life Lock had helped me to take care of everything so I didn't answer the phone. The man I talked with at Life Lock told me he would be monitoring my account closely. Thank you Life Lock! I know you are taking good care of me.

I have been with Lifelock for several years, and I know the security it provides me and my family. (Short story) My son-in-law, 9 years ago was a victim of idenity theft. They opened a bank account in his name and wrote $1,000's in bad checks. Also got credit cards and run them to the limit. Thank God my son in law, with the exspense of a lawyer, he spent only one night in jail. He was relieved of any financial responsibity. But to this day, he can't get a credit card, bank account. His financial life was destroyed. They live doing everything in his wifes name only. Lifelock is the best way to stop this from happening to you. I hope this review helps at least one person. God bless.

Life Lock called me with in half hour of my credit being checked. As I had not applied for any large purchase I was of course concerned. They quickly lead me through a series of questions and then with a little more checking were able to tell me exactly where the credit check had come from. I was relieved to know the name of the company, since I had spoken with them a few days earlier and did not realize they would need to check my credit history. After speaking with the company I told them of Life Locks alert and asked if they ever had to check it again to notify me they were doing so. They also asked how I liked Life Lock other clients of theirs had inquired about it. I could then tell them, with my first time experience regarding Life Lock, I recommended they encourage other clients to check them out.

LifeLock notified me of a potential problem with change in contact information for one of my accounts - then within 24 hours they requested I contact them and within 10 minutes of my calling, they clearly explained the problem and assured me of the positive resolution. I am thoroughly pleased with their outstanding level of professionalism, prompt responses and prompt detection / resolution of potential problems. Their notification system capabilities via email, text messages and phone calls is truly phenomenal. I have had other credit protection services in the past but LifeLock offers me the best services I have ever had. I would strongly recommend their services to anyone.

Received a call on our cell phone while driving. Told caller we were on the road and asked it he could wait till we found a place to pull off and talk. LifeLock rep very patient and responsive. Told us of the alert. We couldn't remember any transaction. He asked a bank of questions to jig our memory. I did change a password on a credit that is used by the bank where the alert originated. He said the company would investigate it. We received a call two days later and were set at ease. The bank had been notified and was also investigating. We are still on our trip Time we have been a LifeLock member is an estimate.

We originally subscribed to LifeLock because of an email incident where someone got our email password and we needed help keeping track of what was going on with our identity. LifeLock discovered who obtained the information and that they didn't have enough data to cause any concern. Since then, we have had 1 alert regarding an application for credit which turned out to have originated from us but just the same it was nice to know LifeLock was watching out for us. We will never be without LifeLock and if you want to feel secure, especially in these days of internet theft, you need to subscribe to LifeLock, too! P.S. An added feature - they keep track of your credit scores and you can obtain them for free! Such a deal!!!

Lifelock has sent me a lot of information in the past that seemed extraneous. However, when my identity was breached last week, Lifelock alerted me immediately. I have been in contact with Lifelock on this matter 4 times in the past few days. Every representative has been very pleasant and patient. Their knowledge and helpfulness has been inconsistent. On my last call I reached Jennifer. She is fantastic. She immediately contacted the fraud depts at the companies that had been involved directly, called me back within minutes to conference me in, and helped me through understanding the process and what I need to do next. Thank you.

We decided to buy a new truck from a local, reputable dealer. We were absolutely amazed that as we were driving out of the driveway of the dealership, with my new truck, my phone went off with an alert. My wife was in another car next to me at the stoplight. It was from Life Lock-- asking me if the latest activity was me. Then about 15 seconds later, my wife's phone went off. Life Lock was asking her the same question. With our windows down, we spoke to each other in utter amazement !!! We chuckled, but then felt very relieved that Life Lock was on the job with a "super fast check" on our activity. Thank you Life Lock !!!

I lost my belongings in a storage auction sale. I was afraid that someone could possibly use my financial information against me. I also had a friend whose bank account had recently been compromised. I saw an ad for LifeLock on Facebook and then I saw a commercial for LifeLock on television. I went to LifeLock's website to get more information, and immediately signed up for their services; both for myself as well as for my minor daughter. I was extremely happy with how easy the set up was, and how quickly LifeLock kept up with my profile. I enjoy receiving texts and emails that make sure that I am the actual person making purchases. I also like knowing who is making inquiries into my credit history. I actually recommended LifeLock to my friend whose bank account had been compromised, as well as to some of his friends who showed an interest in LifeLock as well.

I got Lifelock as soon as I turned 18 because i knew that me applying for credit at a young age would put me at risk for Identity theft. Never once did i imagine it would actually happen to me. My friends & i were out in San Francisco one night when my purse got stolen, & Lifelock was the first place i called. They guided me with cancelling all my credit cards, contacting the 3 credit bureaus to place a fraud alert, & calling the fraud departments of the banks that the criminals tried applying for credit at. Their 24 hour customer service insured that my identity & name was safe, & their alerts kept me up to date with what criminal activity was going on. I'm forever grateful i chose LifeLock to protect my identity, because you never except to be a victim of Identity Theft until it happens.

I have been pleased that I hear from Lifelock often about my account by getting an email. I called them yesterday as was concerned somebody may have found some sort of information in mail that was taken from my porch. This was two days worth of mail my neighbor collected from my box and put in a plastic box and put between my storm door and inside door, it has been done this way for years now and never had a problem but somebody must have seen him put it there and came back at night and light was out on porch and took the mail, they may have thought something of value was being put between doors. Neighbor's dogs were barking and she saw someone walking away off porch and I was out of town at the time. I called Lifelock to be on guard just in case someone may have found something in the mail which would help them compromise my identity. Did check and found out no investment or bank statements sent so other than maybe a credit card bill do not think they would have found anything of value but wanted to inform Lifelock anyway. People were helpful. Realize you cannot report anything until you find someone has tried to do something with information. hopefully all will be well but feel more comfortable I have Lifelock. Have not looked into a higher level of protection.

I received an email from LifeLock this morning asking if I had opened a checking account(s) today with a particular banking company. I responded that I hadn't done so, and replied to a list of very simple questions about possible activity that could have triggered an alert. None of them applied. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from Jennifer at LifeLock to go over the information with me and to begin the process of closing the fraudulent accounts. Jennifer was on the line with me with the banking company representatives and Susan, also with LifeLock was on the line with me while I talked to the TransUnion representative. Susan then efficiently filed my FTC report and took care of everything else to take care of this situation. LifeLock did a fabulous job and I can't tell you how pleased I am with their protection and attention to detail. This is a service that you truly cannot do without! Thank you, LifeLock!

As a retired chief of police and now owner of my own security consulting firm I am never surprised at the lengths criminals will go to in order to steal what someone else has worked hard to achieve. I consult in various countries of the world and when I travel I need to know that my information is totally secure. I not only trust Lifelock with my information but my wife's as well and I recommend it to my clients. When I have had a concern, Lifelock has responded quickly. When my computer was hacked in the Middle East, I immediately checked and all my financial data was secure. I appreciate the sex offender notifications and I pass along some of the tips Lifelock provides for staying secure to my family and friends. The adage, the best offense is a strong defense is true and in today''s world, there is no stronger defense than Lifelock.

In the meantime, I received a call from a Police Department saying my wallet minus the cash was found by a senior citizen and turned in to the Police. I was fortunate to get my Driver's License returned but Lifelock took care of everything else; I did not need to contact anyone. It confirmed dramatically why I am firmly committed to such a wonderful company who's Customer Service is always helpful and kind. Those little things mean much in a world where it sometimes seems there are fewer good Samaritans each year.

First of all, I do not know WHICH LifeLock Service I'm using or exactly how long I've been a member. Don't you know? Five years ago someone accused a gal of trying to steal my identity. She didn't and it turned out to be that same person (insurance guy) who caused . . . what turned out to be . . . a HUGE MESS for me. He was too lazy to use the correct vehicle driver's license number in an accident report and then he continued to lie about it to me and others, including the police. It was I who had to deal with the aftermath and clear it all up; now having LifeLock I feel secure about a lot of things. Thank You LifeLock!

I was notified by Target that my credit card information was obtained from Target in the well-known hacking scheme last year. I contacted LifeLock immediately and they placed a special alert on any unusual activities involving my credit cards or banking business. I also contacted all my credit companies, but I felt secure knowing LifeLock would question anything performed on any of my credit or banking activities at a time when banking and credit card activities were especially busy and hard to keep up with - the holidays! LifeLock was responsive and proactive regarding my concerns. I sleep better knowing LifeLock is always watching out for me.

Someone tried to open a PayPal Credit Account using my information. LifeLock caught this activity and notified me by email. I then communicated with LifeLock on the phone. They even set up a conference call with PayPal Credit so I could talk to them directly. LifeLock then contacted all three credit bureaus, helped me get credit reports to review activity, contacted the Federal Trade Commission on my behalf and a host of other "little" things that needed to be done to protect my good credit. It all took a few days and the process was annoying, but the annoyance was better than a stolen identity.

When I first enrolled with LifeLock, the gentleman who was helping me inadvertently transposed some of the numbers in my SS # and I started receiving several alerts and warnings for someone else. This was very alarming so I called LifeLock to find out what was going on with my account and during the security question check, as well as being asked for my social security number, the mistake was discovered and immediately corrected. I have not received any more such alerts and warnings but am very pleased with the monitoring of all my accounts and sleep a little better knowing LifeLock is constantly protecting me as much as possible from identity theft. Sometimes you wonder if services like Lifelock actually work. I had recently moved and needed furniture right away. I opened a credit account at the furniture store and before I finished speaking with the salesman about my new account I had received an alert text message on my phone from Lifelock. While I was typing in my text response on my phone I received an actual phone call from a Lifelock representative who was making sure it was me opening the new account. Both I and the furniture salesman were amazed at the speed! He said that he would be signing up for a Lifelock account that same day for himself. It works!

The alert of a fraudulent Telco account worked as promised and the technician who contacted the carrier on my behalf did an excellent job for me. I expect to continue with the service in the future. Having said that, it would be beneficial to get some assistance on where to go from here. Is there any way to get my ssn removed from the internet, or is there a way to get this changed since its been compromised? Lifelock only went so far, but the job is not finished, my information is still compromised and there is no clear path to a resolution other than to deal with these alerts as they come up instead of finding a way to eliminate the problem entirely.

I recently asked why my husband and I had to have separate accounts considering we both use the same accounts for all of our financial transactions. You explained that because we have different SS numbers and birth dates, it is necessary to have separate LifeLock accounts. My husband and I are both 75 years old and on fixed incomes. I would think that LifeLock would consider this and devise a way for seniors to have the protection we need but at a cost that is affordable. To upgrade to a better program would require one of us to cancel our membership which we don't want to do. Your reply would be appreciated.

Thanks! I over-reacted a bit when I realized someone had used my debit card. I reported that it had been compromised. I didn't mean to give the impression my whole wallet had been stolen. There perhaps should be one extra option to click for clarity's sake. I checked my bank account this morning, which I normally check daily. I discovered a transaction I did not make. My bank helped me stop the pending transaction right away. I called LifeLock too and other businesses I use. It took half a day but was worth the effort. I haven't been a member 1 full month yet. I imagine the number was stolen online, as my computer is quite aging now. I blocked the use of that card. I'm sure LifeLock will help me if there is more I need to do.

Jennifer, my Lifelock Representitive was extremely helpful. She contacted the companies corporate office (while I was on the other phone line) in regards to my two-year-old and someone utilizing her social security number to open up an account with their information attached. Not only was Jennifer very professional, she utilized her resources to assist me to the best of her capabilities. Because of Jennifers help, I was able to get to the bottom of what happened and why it looked like someone was using my daughter's Social Security number illegally. Thankfully this time it was a mechanical error, but it could have been something else - something much worse - and I would have known about it right away thanks to LifeLock. After going through this experience, I know that I won't have to worry if anyone is trying to steal my daughters, or anyone else in my families personal information for identity theft.

I receive Life Lock Alerts by text and email. Recently there were several in one day from a company unrecognized and it was quite alarming. Life Lock launched an investigation, had the results in less than 24 hours turning out to be noting harmful at all...it was an amazing RELIEF. You don't have to pay bills or do much of anything through the Internet, but we are all affected by it anyway every time we use credit or debit cards. My identify belongs to me and no one unscrupulous is going to come along and take my identify and what I've worked hard to gain and it's not a lot, but it is mine. I'm not sure how Life Lock does it, but they are THE BEST OF THE BEST in Identity Theft Protection. Thank you, Life Lock!

When someone hacked our Social Security numbers on the IRS website we thought our lives would never be the same. When speaking with the IRS agent on the phone I happened to mention that we were Llfelock members. He breathed a sigh of relief and told me that was the best money I have ever spent and that our case would be handled so much better with LIfelock in our corner! I never imagined how frightening this kind of thing could be. To have Lifelock in our corner when in addition our state tax and revenue dept said we owed them thousands of dollars when we did not, was a huge relief. This is the best investment ever! Now our IRS tax return has been sent to us and we are in the process of resolving the state issues with the assurance that with Lifelock we are not alone in this! Thank you Lifelock for everything!!

Recently, I received an alert from LifeLock which indicated that someone had attempted to use my information to open a credit card account. The information that I received from LifeLock, via both email and phone messages, was extremely helpful. I quickly responded and identified the application as being fraudulent. Lifelock followed up and coordinated a call between myself and the lender. As a result the application was refused and the fraudlulent submission will be expunged from my credit report. In addition, I was given excellent advice on how to submit a fraud alert claim to the three major credit reporting companies. Many Thanks to LifeLock, particularly Rueben, Anne and Melissa for their efforts to avert what could have been a major problem

Some individuals stole mail from my mail box and then starting using my identity and the numbers they stole. They destroyed my credit, soiled my financial integrity and my name was used by someone in Georgia and I live in Utah. Needless to say, I needed help. I was watching a College Football game and an ad for Lifelock was shown. I immediately investigated through the Web; what Lifelock was, how others perceived it, and even the negative comments. I found few negative comments, a solid company and one that I hoped I could trust. I started slow in adding simple accounts and after a time, I added all of them. Lifelock saved my financial and identity problems. I do not have anymore problems. My credit is now coming up and I could not be more confident with their abilities. Thank you Lifelock

Services have been great so far except one area. I am supposed to be alerted every time more than 200 has been charged. We charged several things, one 750,00, one 299.00 and several others. We were not alerted about them. If you say you are going to do something... do it... or don't say it. We are paying for specific important services. The only reason I am so concerned is we were identity fraud victims in the past. I just want to stay on top of it. You helped get to the bottom of it and I was so reassured that we had you on our team! I was in the hospital when we found out and lifelock took care of it. I didn't have to lay up there and worry. Thank you.

All the representatives I have dealt with have been very helpful. They have called all the necessary agencies with me on the phone to report, close, and notify credit agencies of all fraudulent accounts that were opened using my information. Having the security of knowing I will not be held responsible for any charges made on accounts I did not open is a big relief. It is also great knowing they will walk me through the process of restoring my credit if it was affected in any way by the fraudulent activity, Having to deal with identity theft without LifeLock would have been much more stressful and time consuming.

A week ago I received a Lifelock Alert concerning Verizon account(s) I had not applied for. I responded and was prompted that I would receive another contact from the Lifelock Resolution Center. I received that today. Once again I contacted Lifelock and we together talked to a Verizon representative on the phone. As a result of that conversation, I am to submit a police report with my local police department and send Verizon a copy of the report. I am to receive another contact from the Resolution Center in 3-5 days. The ID thieves apparently have my name, address and Social Security number. Scary. This kind of thing is why I have Lifelock. It remains to be seen how this turns out, but so far, my dealing with Lifelock has been pretty good. I'm counting on Lifelock to protect my personal accounts, credit, etc.

It was initially thought that a capital one credit card acct was being opened with my soc sec number. That was disturbing to me, but I had complete confidence that Lifelock would take care of my credit, and fix this credit breach. A very kind, and helpful employee, spent quite a bit of time tracking down the problem, and made sure that my credit was not harmed. It turned out that a Canadian citizen was applying to open a credit card account thru Capital one, in Canada, and has the same Canadian soc sec number as myself, here in the U.S. I feel very relieved, and thankful, that I have Lifelock watching over my financial interests and credit. Thank you Lifelock!

I have been a LifeLock customer for several years and thankfully I have thus far been safe. However, what disturbs me is their billing system. Without going into an elaborate description of what happened to me I will quote a comment made to me by one of their customer service representatives, "We do a good job at protecting your identity but our billing department leaves a lot to be desired." I came to this site looking for an alternative to LifeLock because for the past few months they have been very confused and have completely screwed up my billing. Additionally, I recently received incorrect information from one of their supervisors while on the phone attempting to correct the mess they created. Frustrated, I made the comment that my confidence in them has been shaken and asked them who is going to protect me from LifeLock.

I was really surprised at how quickly LifeLock contacted me about a request I made for credit with a retail store, that is when I realized that they are really on the ball. I was definitely impressed with this and I now know that I will continue using their services for the foreseeable future and I also highly recommend them for anyone who wants to feel secure from identity theft.

My identity (along with thousands of others) was stolen thru one of my medical providers--this was on national news in October 2014; I was provided free ID monitoring for 1 yr. When that expired I called Life Lock to set up coverage. Thus far I have been very pleased with the service and have found the staff very helpful and informative when I've had to call.

Love the service. Only thing that it could not do, is monitor my bank accounts. There were no agreements in place with our banks. You all made good (great), though by offering me a credit for the year. Otherwise, the service has been spot on and very accurate. And, I cannot say enough about the associates I've spoken with. Everyone is helpful, patient, informative, and more. Great job!

I really thought this was not going to be very helpful, when I first bought into this program. But it has been more than I expected and very helpful in allowing to see transactions being made from my accounts. Ye it seems like the questions and replies may be a lot, but I am thankful to know about them. I would not consider another protector and appreciate all Lifelock has done and continues to do for me and my family.

I began using the new LifeLock website just last week: very impressed and it brought my participation with LifeLock light-years ahead of what it used to be, which was, basically, a one way street, where I was notified with occasional updates but there was no active participation on my part. That all changed last week and I couldn't be more satisfied. Initially, when I accessed the website, there were some fits and starts, lot of errors, but since then, it runs smoothly now. I highly recommend it for those who use LifeLock and for anyone who is thinking about signing up for this service.

I really appreciate the service which we receive regularly and we feel very secure with the association we have with Lifelock. We have had great oversight of our accounts and have had good contacts if there is something we have any questions about. Only concern which we did nothing about was the class action lawsuit. Still not sure about this, but we are currently committed and satisfied with our service.

To date I have had only one instance when L/L called/messaged concern about a charge. That was when I purchased a lawn tractor. It was legit. I have just in the last couple of days run into other banks etc, monitoring much the same way as Lifelock. In one sense its good, yet it can be annoying in how they are going about it. Instantly freeze you credit/debit card??

I received a letter in the mail with a phone number to contact concerning back pay from Social Security stating the need of my banking account number. I called LifeLock read the letter and gave the number enclosed in the letter. LifeLock took care of my concern and said they would continue monitoring my credits and would keep me informed by sending alerts.

alerts are quicker than other services i subscribe to--in fact i received a text within minutes of my own attempt to open new Sears credit account. overall very happy except for one thing----i I have the ultimate plus package and even at the highest level of service this package ONLY brings the three (3) credit report agency reports up-to-date once a year! Can this feature at the top tier service at least be updated every 3 months?
