LifeLock is a modern identity theft protection company that services millions of members and provides identity theft protection to individuals and families.
According to LifeLock's website, "data breach criminals" often have the abilities to commit identity theft long after a breach occurs. LifeLock will send alerts to customers of any potentially suspicious activity and will help address identity theft victim problems.

LifeLock provides several identity theft protection services in an effort to catch identity theft and identity fraud before it happens.
LifeLock customers can receive credit monitoring services (See disclaimer below) from all three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion), dark web monitoring, data breach notifications, social security number monitoring, financial account monitoring, and more.
***Disclaimer: If your plan includes credit reports, scores, and/or credit monitoring features ("Credit Features"), two requirements must be met to receive said features: (i) your identity must be successfully verified with Equifax; and (ii) Equifax must be able to locate your credit file and it must contain sufficient credit history information. IF EITHER OF THE FOREGOING REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT MET YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FEATURES FROM ANY BUREAU. If your plan also includes Credit Features from Experian and/or TransUnion, the above verification process must also be successfully completed with Experian and/or TransUnion, as applicable. If verification is successfully completed with Equifax, but not with Experian and/or TransUnion, as applicable, you will not receive Credit Features from such bureau(s) until the verification process is successfully completed and until then you will only receive Credit Features from Equifax. Any credit monitoring from Experian and TransUnion will take several days to begin after your successful plan enrollment.

Additionally, LifeLock assists with financial, medical, criminal, and tax identity recovery. For a fee of $300, LifeLock will also work with customers with pre-existing identity theft conditions.
If a member becomes a victim of identity theft, LifeLock helps protect them with their Million Dollar Protection™ Package. This includes reimbursement for stolen funds and coverage for personal expenses, each with limits of up to $25,000, $100,000 or $1 million depending on the plan, and coverage for lawyers and experts if needed up to $1 million, to help resolve the case.
***Disclaimer: Reimbursement and Expense Compensation, each with limits of up to $1 million for Ultimate Plus, up to $100,000 for Advantage and up to $25,000 for Standard and Select (Norton 360 with LifeLock Select). And up to $1 million for coverage for lawyers and experts if needed, for all plans. LifeLock's website also provides a list of helpful identity theft protection advice and educational resources (regarding credit reports, credit score monitoring, social security cards, credit freezes, and personally identifiable information) for customers to access at any time.
The identity theft protection company offers a 60-day complete money-back guarantee to annual LifeLock account members that request a refund within the appropriated 60 days post-billing.
Meanwhile, some other companies in the identity theft protection industry do not offer a complete money-back guarantee with their services. LifeLock's refund promise emphasizes the company's confidence as well as its service guarantee.
LifeLock offers three identity theft protection options to choose from: the Select plan that costs $9.99 per month (for the first year), the Advantage plan that costs members $19.99 per month (for the first year), and the Ultimate Plus plan that costs $29.99 per month (for the first year).
Best Company visitors can use the promo code "BestCom," to get 25% off for the first year (compared to the renewal price), of all LifeLock identity theft protection options. Terms apply. These optoins include social security number alerts and credit alerts.
Within the industry, LifeLock's plans are priced at lower rates and allow customers the flexibility to choose how much they want to invest in identity protection services and fraud security.
Customers are able to get the LifeLock mobile app that allows them to receive and respond to alerts while on-the-go and easily obtain customer service help through the in-app member services feature.
With the LifeLock mobile app, customers can access their credit scores from all three credit bureaus depending on their plan. According to the LifeLock website, the mobile app also includes "dark web activity detection, fictitious identity monitoring, court records scanning, and investment account activity alerts."
Overall, the mobile app is an extra feature that helps protect customers from identity theft and identity fraud.
In terms of device security, LifeLock has plenty to offer. Unfortunately, some of the device security options that the company offers are not available to all devices.
According to the company's website, the Family Parental Controls, Cloud Backup, and SafeCam options are currently not supported on Mac OS.
LifeLock offers extensive protection services as well as identity restoration services including stolen wallet protection to those who have fallen victim of identity theft or fraud from a stolen identity event. Additionally, the company offers a Million Dollar™ Protection Package and 24/7 live member support customer service.
LifeLock's Million Dollar™ Protection Package covers stolen or lost documents, travel expenses, lost wages, and more (See "Million Dollar™ Protection Package" for details and accompanying disclaimer). The company also provides educational resources, a money-back guarantee, a detailed LifeLock mobile application, and reasonable pricing in comparison to other protection services.
LifeLock has three identity protection plan options — the Select plan, the Advantage plan, and the Ultimate Plus plan.
These plans can include credit, social security, bank account, credit card, and crimes/other alerts as well as credit report and credit score monitoring and updates from all three major credit bureaus, etc.
The one major downside of the company is that some of its device security options, such as the Family Parental Controls, Cloud Backup, and SafeCam options, are not supported on Mac OS devices, which may limit some LifeLock account members from having additional protection against identity thieves.
Above all, if you are looking for a reliable company to help protect your identity and personal information from theft, LifeLock is a great company to choose from.
***Reimbursement and Expense Compensation, each with limits of up to $1 million for Ultimate Plus, up to $100,000 for Advantage and up to $25,000 for Standard and Select (Norton 360 with LifeLock Select). Someone in CA used my debit card number 2 times over a week ago to make 2 purchases. Life Lock didn't catch this and I still don't have my money back even though i went to my branch and signed the paperwork that this wasn't me. This happened to me 2 times within the past 12 years. Both time it was caught immediately by my CU. I'm extremely disappointed in my Life Lock Service.

Seriously?! I had LifeLock for probably two years, I went to the Dominican Republic and my Social Security number was compromised. I received numerous applications for credit applications in my name. I alerted Lifelock to the issue and they said "they would closely monitor my file." To this day, I have never received a warning or alert from LifeLock. It got so bad, I had to go on line and freeze my Social Security number. I really do not feel "protected." To add insult to injury, I just received an email: "Good news, your identity has been protected."

Thanks LifeLock. Just knowing I have LifeLock makes me feel safe from fraud. They are on the ball when they think something is amiss and they call right away. Best money spent.

I am so happy to have signed up with lifelock. I get at least one notice of my social security number being used once every two months which is frightening. But I can rest assured that I am protected with lifelock. What a life saver!!!

I called Lifelock because they are the leader in protecting your finanacial assets and your good name. I appreciate the alerts and the speed they handle alarming issues. It is one of the smartest investments my wife and I have ever made.

alerts are quicker than other services i subscribe to--in fact i received a text within minutes of my own attempt to open new Sears credit account. overall very happy except for one thing----i I have the ultimate plus package and even at the highest level of service this package ONLY brings the three (3) credit report agency reports up-to-date once a year! Can this feature at the top tier service at least be updated every 3 months?

I am always amazed at how fast I am alerted to a possible breach on my credit; since having LifeLock I have applied for various credit options and it is within minutes of applying that I have a message that my credit is being accessed.

In the simplest terms, Life Lock has been exceptionally PROACTIVE, down to the smallest detail. They detected that there had been a change in 'checks' at four minutes past midnight and when I called the bank in the morning, they identified this as delivery of newly ordered checks on my behalf. When I had to cosign a college loan for my grandson, Life Lock was checking all through the process, again in such detail that frankly, I was amazed!!

SCAM , Canceled my service, then 2 years later I see a $110.00 debit on my credit card. get this LIFE LOCK hit my card without any authorization. I filed a complaint FTC and States Attorney Office, and better business bureau.

Whenever I had to contact LifeLock, everyone I spoke with at Customer Service was helpful and informative.

Someone stole my identity and filed a tax return. When I contacted LifeLock, they were very unhelpful, but did send me a huge packet to fill out to obtain their help. I threw it in the garbage and contacted all of my creditors myself.

Thank goodness LifeLock was spot on when a loan application in my name, address, and SS#, was tried to be taken out in my name. They notified me immediately and then started investigating the attempt and protected my credit line.

I applied for a JC Penny card when checking out to obtain an additional percentage off of my purchase. Before walking away from the cashier, I received a phone call, a text message and an email from LifeLock because my SSN was used. They were trying to verify that it was me using my SSN. I decided to respond when I got to my vehicle, but even before getting there, I received another call from LifeLock. That was impressive!

Lifelock's extensive network is not very extensive. it does not effectively prevent fradulent activity. I recently opened a bank account in another city, and Lifelock did not detect it. When I called to complain, there was no concern on the part of the person I spoke with. If Lifelock was my company, I would have been very concerned and would have carefully documented the complaint and followed up. Lifelock is a fraud!

In June of 2103 my idenity was compromised. I did not know the how help full Life Lock was until this happened. They totally took care of everything. I have peace of mind every day because they are on the job to protect me and you.

Nice to know that your identity is protected. I opened a JC Penny credit while shopping one Saturday. I received a call from Lifelock immediately asking me if I opened that credit card. I had opened the card. The time delay between shopping and returning home was 2 hours. Nice to know that their response time was immediate. I called to confirm that I did open the card.

It has been so nice to be able to call and talk to a human and ask questions about security etc. I feel very comfortable with Life Lock. And I have not had to wait or be put on hold.

My identity has been stolen and my credit card since I joined lifelock and NO ONE from life lock has called me. I would like to know what I am paying for. The same person has stolen my credit card, changed my mailing address and you have not caught any of it.
William E Langen
Lifelock can detect fragulant activity before it can damage your credit. Best move I ever made. Well worth the money.

I have had Life Lock for years now and am very pleased with the updates and notifications when my purchases are unusually high or out of state. It's an additional level of comfort knowing that your credit card transactions are bring monitored by a competent third party.

I was a victim of fraud back in 2000. It took extensive work for me to get everything straightened out. Now that I have Lifelock I get immediate notifications when there is ANY kind of activity whether its a new account from a cell phone carrier to any new accounts that I may have opened. THANK YOU LIFELOCK for having my back.
William E Langen
I would definitely recommend you to anyone. I am very appreciative of all you have done.
William E Langen
Thus far you are failing! We just had my debit card being used by someone else, and you guys never caught it or even called about it!!! Wells Fargo had to catch it and they dealt with it.

This is an excellent service, feel very comfortable with security issues. Would definitely recommend LifeLock to everyone.

I've heard so much about Lifelock, and know that id theft protection is absolutely necessary. For both my wife and I, the cost came to about 54$/mo. That was a bit high. When I called to cancel, they explained that I only needed the highest level on one and could put the base level on the other. It would have been nice, and more honest, had they explained it when I signed up. I went ahead and signed up that way, then with the discount they gave me, my monthly would be approximately two or three dollars more than I was paying just for one. That afternoon I checked my bank account and see that LifeLock had charged my account. Since I had already paid for the month, I did not understand. When I called, it took a while for them to figure it out. Ultimately they had changed my billing date, and charged me the new amount. I cancelled LifeLock. I hired them to keep people from accessing my account without my permission, not so they can do it themselves. And, this is exactly what they did. I did not authorize them to change my billing date, nor did they inform me that they would be doing that. Because of outages, I took me 24 hours, approximately to get back in touch with them, which stressed me out. If they had explained what they were doing, I would have told them that I wouldn't be okay with the change of billing dates. Ultimately they lost my business.

My wife and I at this time very happy with LifeLock coverages we have. We plan on renewal when our membership comes up for renewal membership next year.

After cosigning for my daughter's loan, I got a message from LifeLock the next day, alerting me to the transaction. LifeLock works!
William E Langen
we want to compliment your staff, professional kind, courteous, and customer oriented in these situations, that occur too often in our globe today.

I am very happy with the Lifelock services, I have had no issues with my credit due to their help! I would rcommend this service to anyone! This really protects you ID and credit! Nobody can steal you Identity! I will stay with LifeLock forever!

I have tried to cancel this service since I first started it. Now it seems that I am lifelike. Once you sign up apparently there is no way out. I have sent emails, made phone calls. Nothing seems to happen. They just keep taking my money, and once a month I get an email telling me how lucky I am to have their protection. I think it's a scam.
William E Langen
I have been a lifeLock member for over 10 years and have had several calls from LifeLock protecting me from fraud. If I open an account anywhere they call and ask if I am opening another account. My wife's purse was stolen and LifeLock took care of everything for us including her passport. If you value your identity and do not have the LifeLock ultimate plus protection you are living dangerously.

Lifelock basics. This product/company has kept its end of the bargain. My job takes me all over the country. However, I have not had nor do I worry about using my personal debit and credit cards. Lifelock has been a good purchase for my family. We highly recommend their services. They are also friendly and quick with their customer care. I really like Lifelock and so does my bank account.
William E Langen
I signed up for myself and my husband. We never received the information to sign in for me. I used the same email address for both of us because we share it. I called to try to get it straightened out but the issue was never resolved by lifelock.

The Standard Plan provided my family and I with basically no protection so I upgraded to the Advantage Plan. Then, I was made aware of another company and how much protection they offer for a whole lot less money. When I contacted LifeLock to discuss their competitor, they basically told me they did not care if I canceled.

This company is great! My mom has been telling me forever to get this service as she has used it for years. After the recent OPM security breach I realized how important it was to have coverage. It was super easy to sign up, I was able to chat with a representative almost immediately after clicking the "chat" button. He guided me and asked all the right questions. I have never felt so secure as I do now. Let someone try to take my info - LifeLock has my back!
William E Langen
Lifelock notifies me any time there is doubt as to whether there is a problem and if so they resolve it immediately.Gerald Z.

I am so glad that I have Life Lock. I upgraded in the past year to the Ultimate Plus plan and I am not seeing any difference in the information I receive. I have called about this but cannot seem to get an answer that satisfies me. I signed my daughter and son-in-law up on it a few years ago and they get information such as public record reports on a regular basis from LifeLock.
William E Langen
I appreciate Lifelock sending me a report each month. It helps me to know that it is still on the job.
William E Langen
I'm not sure what Life Lock checks as I've applied for loans, etc and never received an alert from Life Lock. I recently received an email stating that there were no issues in the past month but that email does not arrive very often.
William E Langen
Called several times to ask questions about initial alerts we received when first signing up for the service. Staff was not knowledgeable. After the initial communications from LifeLock, we received minimal updates from them. We found out from our bank our security had been breached and not LifeLock. Spent almost $450.00 for their services. Very unsatisfied.
William E Langen
I haven't been able to add my bank account and sent an email through the "contact us" link on the web page several months ago and was never contacted. I also bought a new car three months ago and that activity on my credit report has still not been noticed by you. I'm not impressed with the service.
William E Langen
I recently opened a new credit card at a big box store. I was required to give my SS#. By the time I got home, Lifelock had left a message on my phone telling me my SS# was just used and they wanted to know if I was aware of it. I was amazed by the service provided by Likelock.

They do not do the recovery ,they assist you
William E Langen
Have not received any email communications from Lifelock in two years beyond the considerable junk file advertisements to join Lifelock. The few times I called to speak directly with a Lifelock agent, I was frustrated with the rudeness and lack of knowledge of the agent. I am unsure what services you are providing for me and my wife and will probably not renew or recommend your services to my friends.

One afternoon I opened a checking account at a local Wells Fargo bank. By the time I got home I received a telephone call to make certain that I had made that transaction. I was impressed !
