How do I recover from identity theft?

  • File a police report.

No happy with product or services. Easy to sign up difficult to address issues of ID Theft. When I call to address someone accessing my credit and opening a CC in my name they only sent me a package to fill out??? I checked them out closer and found LifeLock was Fined by the FTC in 25 states for false advertising and are now under investigation again....Please tell me how the BBB can give this company an A rating when they have been and are being sued by the FTC??? The BBB will give anyone an A if you pay the $$$$!!!

I received a letter in the mail with a phone number to contact concerning back pay from Social Security stating the need of my banking account number. I called LifeLock read the letter and gave the number enclosed in the letter. I bought a car couple years ago and I had to contact them three days later and tell them that I bought a car why didn't they detect it ..Then three days after that they contacted me asking me if I bought a car?im like yes I did but it's too late now. I bought LifeLock long ago when I realized that I wasn't qualified to protect my own identity because I simply didn't have the time to continually watch for fraudulent activity. Several years ago, I experienced credit history fraud and I was fortunate that I was alerted by the security department of a bank. It still was a hassle to contact all 3 credit reporting agencies and even go in person to the local one who was handling my account for one of the major agencies. I have been with Lifelock at least 2 years. Last summer, I applied for a credit card with my local Walmart so I would qualify for a $25 rebate. BEFORE I COULD LOAD MY BIKE IN THE TRUNK OF MY CAR, I RECEIVED AN ALERT FROM LIFELOCK. My yearly renewal fee is well worth the money. I can view my credit histories any time I choose, and I receive alerts on data breaches as well as notifications. I will always have LifeLock. There is just too much fraud out there.

Called the 800 number and the 7 level voice activated system got my credit card number wrong 3 times. I have now been on hold for 17 minutes---WAY too long for me. initially had standard upgraded to ultimate. was told there was a problem and service was to be discontinued. after 8 months tried to re-enroll to the ultimate after receiving a renewal notice. turns out I had 2 accounts to one address and one was to another person, not me. canceled that got the ultimate but was unable to enter my credit cars and bank accounts into it. I've been on Lifelock for about two years now. I have always been notified of the activity on my financial accounts, and alerted when transactions took place over a certain dollar amount. A few years ago, someone filed income tax 1040 from under my social security #. I made a call to lifelock and they handled everything with the IRS. It was so good not to have to go through a bunch of calls, transfers, waiting, or being aggravated by nothing getting done. I would never cancel having them, basically because of not having to go through the hassle.

I changed my address on a credit card and the next day had communication from Life lock. However, Experian has done nothing and I have protection from them on Medical records Hack on Blue Cross. Sent and email to all federal employee's I worked with to alert them to Life Lock positive response on my financial records protection. Thank You Life lock.

the agents take a instrest in your problem and get on it right away the company is very proficient and they care about your problem and they fix it.

I had savings/bank accounts opened in my name. Lifelock alerted me to this event, but have have a terrible time being able to talk to anyone from their restoration servcies. They are always busy when I call and never all me back, even though they say they will. I have contacted the bank, SS, credit bureaus, and police myself, since I have no idea what LifeLock is doing.

A former close friend and business associate hacked my computer and gained access to all of my passwords. Credit cards were used and accounts were attempted to be opened. Life lock protected our finances and prevented any loss.

Someone in CA used my debit card number 2 times over a week ago to make 2 purchases. Life Lock didn't catch this and I still don't have my money back even though i went to my branch and signed the paperwork that this wasn't me. This happened to me 2 times within the past 12 years. Both time it was caught immediately by my CU. I'm extremely disappointed in my Life Lock Service.
