Founded in 2013, EverSafe, which is a branch of Elderscan LLC, offers identity theft protection services that are specifically targeted at seniors but available to anyone.

After Howard Tischler, the founder of EverSafe, discovered that his mother was a victim of identity theft, he saw a need to protect senior citizens and their families from fraud.

EverSafe offers alerts via email, text, voice, or app for abnormal spending patterns, credit card charges, missing deposits, unauthorized cash withdrawals, dishonest telemarketers, changes in spending habits, credit bureau activity, and identity theft and fraud.

EverSafe offers a 30-day free trial service for each of its three offered protection plans.

Those interested in EverSafe should note that only two of the three plans the company offers include identity theft-specific services like identity restoration and a $1 million service policy.

The Good

  • Free Trial
  • Multiple Protection Plan Options
  • Ability to Add Spouse
  • Monitoring Services
  • Identity Theft Services

Free Trial

EverSafe gives interested consumers the ability to try out their services for 30 days. This 30-day free trial period is available to all three plan options that the company offers.

Those interested in this free trial can easily sign up via the company's website.

Multiple Protection Plan Options

EverSafe offers three identity protection plan options at varying prices so that customers can select a plan that best meets their budget and coverage needs. The three protection plan options include the EverSafe Essentials plan, the EverSafe Plus plan, and the EverSafe Gold plan.

The plans offered range from $7.49 to $24.99 per month. Enrollees who are 60 years or older can receive a 10 percent senior discount for the plan option they choose. Additionally, family members can receive a 25 percent discount.

Customers who wish to obtain the $1 million service insurance policy must choose the EverSafe Plus Plan or the Eversafe Gold Plan. Each plan, however, includes 24/7 coverage, bank account monitoring, credit card account monitoring, and financial caregiving support.

Ability to Add Spouse

All three EverSafe plans allow the customer to add their spouse to the plan for an additional fee of $2.99 to $14.99 per month, depending on the plan.

Since this service is aimed at seniors, many of whom are married, it's helpful that both spouses can be covered without having to enroll and pay separately.

Monitoring Services

Unlike many companies in the identity theft industry, EverSafe includes investment account monitoring services in its Gold plan. Along with investment account monitoring, EverSafe customers can obtain bank account monitoring, credit card monitoring, credit monitoring, and more.

EverSafe Gold customers can also get a quarterly credit score and credit report as well as tri-bureau credit monitoring services.

The company offers a wide variety of alerts and monitoring options to help seniors avoid financial abuse as well as various elderly-focused scams. EverSafe also allows customers to share their alerts with trust family members/individuals. This can be useful for seniors who cannot keep track of their alerts themselves.

Identity Theft Services

As previously mentioned, EverSafe offers a $1 million service policy as part of its identity theft services. The company also provides dark web surveillance, change of address monitoring, identity restoration services, and credit file monitoring.

Limited Website Information

While EverSafe does offer detailed information online about what services are included in each plan option offered and how much each plan costs, the company does not appear to provide much information about its staff, its refund policy, its payment options, and more.

The Bottom Line

EverSafe offers three different plan options and gives its customers the ability to add their spouse to the plan. Additionally, the company offers a  30-day free trial as well as a 10 percent discount for seniors and a 30 percent discount for family members.

In terms of services, EverSafe provides a $1 million insurance service policy, various monitoring services, and 24/7 coverage. The company focuses on protecting seniors against financial abuse and other various senior-related scams by providing several alert options. In fact, customers who cannot stay on top of their own alerts can have their alerts sent to a trusted family member or individual.

While the company does lack some information on its website regarding its refund policy and more, EverSafe is fairly transparent about its plan options, pricing, and discounts online.

We recommend that you visit the company's website and/or consider signing up for the company's free trial before signing up for its identity theft protection service.

I've started using EverSafe in 2016 after a family member had some suspicious activity on her bank account. What I like about the service is that it is given me the opportunity to review account activity without having full account access. The software alerts me of abnormal transactions and has caught a few things that I was able to resolve (duplicate charges, out-of-state activity and unnecessary purchases). Once set up, the tool is simple to use and the cost is nominal. I highly recommend EverSafe when you want to protect your accounts and the accounts of family members.

I've been a member of EverSafe for a few months now, and it they do now offer the services shown in “The Bad” here. I'm in their Plus plan since I was mainly looking for identity theft protection, but it includes insurance, restoration, and what they call black market scanning. Perhaps these were added recently. Anyway, the service looks to be very thorough - there are a lot of different types of alerts you can customize in your profile. Once you sign up it's pretty easy to keep up with any alerts that are sent to me. Fortunately, I haven't needed to work with their restoration department yet, so I can't comment on that portion of the service.

If you have aging parents they need to be apart of them. Eversafe runs between $8-23 depending on your subscription. Old folks need help and need to be protected from all the internet criminals out there praying on the elders. Right now they're giving a 30 day Free trial. I had my mom sign up so she can simply life her life. Eversafe watches all financial interactions. I don't have to worry about someone writing her checks or someone getting my mom to donate to someone just trying to get her retirement. I have more piece of mind knowing my mom won't be a victim.

EverSafe has helped me catch bogus charges before it was too late. I also like having my credit report and score when I need it.
