The main difference is ADP serves everything from small businesses to enterprise level companies while Paycor focuses on small to medium-sized businesses.
However, customer reviews show a larger difference between the solutions. ADP averages a 3.4 star review while Paycor only has a 1.5 star rating. Poor reviews does not always mean a poor product. If a company has a below average customer review rating, we strongly recommend performing thorough research on the company and product before making a purchase. This is the absolute worst payroll company I've ever worked with. When calling customer service, it's a major production to get anything resolved. They find the most complicated way to solve anything (when they can actually solve it). I DO NOT recommend this, especially for a manufacturing payroll service. We have been trying for over a year to get shift premiums to calculate correctly, and still no resolve. DO NOT USE PAYCOR!!!

I have used ADP in the past in conjunction with my work and was pleased with the experience overall. I think there were a lot of options for companies to choose from with information that they wanted to include in that location. For the most part, everything was easy to use and easy to find. The biggest suggestion I would have would be to match the app with the website, there seemed to a little bit of a disconnect between the two, making it hard to track punches in and out.

If I could give zero stars I would. ADP made an error on our employees W-2 and all our employees have asked them, in vain, to make the correction and to date, a month after the deadline, they have completely ignored our requests - so none of us can file our taxes. It’s utterly disgraceful that they can’t get their act together and do what is legally required of them!

How do you decide between two solutions that seem very similar on paper? The best way is to utilize the sales agent. Do your research and come prepared to every meeting with questions. Talk about the specific challenges you’re facing and ask how their software can solve it.
The best way to evaluate features is to see them in action. Take advantage of demos and free trials; they give you the opportunity to see how the software functions in real-life situations. ADP offers a free trial of its payroll feature. Paycor doesn’t have any information about a free trial on its website, but it does have a guided walk through of the product.
Mobile applications are becoming increasingly important as the next generation enters the workforce. Employees are used to being able to access everything from mobile devices.

Whatever HR software solution you choose should be able to grow with your company. Before deciding which solution works best for you, look at your growth projections for the next three to five years. Both ADP and Paycor serve small to medium-sized businesses. However, if you’re expected to grow beyond that, ADP serves large and enterprise level businesses.
