Low Service Call Fee

United Home Warranty service call fees range from $65 to $85. This range is considerably lower than the industry average service call fee range of $75 to $125. You can request service 24/7 online or you can also call United Home Warranty and speak with a company representative.

Competitive Claims Process

Similar to other companies, you can submit a claim online or over the phone at any time. After you submit a claim, United Home Warranty will assign you a contractor from its network. The contractor will contact you to schedule an appointment to diagnose and make the repair if covered.

United Home Warranty's contractors are licensed and qualified. They also carry workers compensation, third-party general, and automobile liability coverage. If your item is not repairable, you may be offered a replacement instead.

There is no limit to covered repairs during your contract term, but some limitations and exclusions may apply.

30-Day Workmanship Guarantee

The home warranty provider offers a 30-day workmanship guarantee, which is fairly standard for the industry. Some companies offer longer guarantees and also guarantee parts.

The Bad

  • No Online Sample Contract

No Online Sample Contract

It's difficult to find a sample contract online. If you want to review a sample contract, you'll need to contact the company directly for more information. It's unclear who you should contact from the company's website since the FAQ section does not specify that information.

Since a sample contract is not easily accessible online, it's difficult to compare United Home Warranty's limitations and exclusions to industry norms.

Typically, home warranty companies do not cover pre-existing conditions, natural disasters, misuse, poor maintenance, etc. Most home warranty companies also only cover specific parts of a covered system or appliance, so you'll want to review a contract for this information.

Information regarding United Home Warranty's cancellation policy is also limited online. Be sure to ask for this information as you consider working with the company.

Most home warranty companies offer a full reimbursement during the first 30 days of the contract if you've made no claim.

Generally, if you cancel after the first 30 days or have made a claim, you'll receive a refund of the remaining contract term minus the cost of your claim and a cancellation fee. In some cases, you may end up owing the company to cancel the contract.

Most home warranty companies will automatically renew your contract at their discretion. If you don't want to renew, you'll need to notify the company in advance.
