Horrible company. Days and weeks to get someone to come out, only to be told it’s not covered when it states in our paperwork it is covered. One contractor they gave us refused to come out because select home hasn’t paid him on previous jobs. By far the worst warranty company ever. So mad I paid for a year to be “covered”. Complete waste of money.

So disappointed

Fraudalent practices. They have still not "found" a plumber to come and repair the only toilet in my house and it has been 22 days!! They kept sending emails stating that they are still looking (I live in a city!). They keep saying that it has been "escalated" to a manager. And when I looked up to see how I could cancel - it states that I will be charged about 129 per month for the 3 months that I have been with them AND that they will continue to charge that amount for the next 3 months because you have to give them 3 months notice. Complete rip off. Going back to AHS

AND I STAR TO ASK MORE QUESTION NAD I ASK THEM ABOUT A/C UNIT AND THEY SAID THEY WILL COVER ONLY UP TO $2000 STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

We have been with select home warranty for over a year. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They do everything they can to avoid paying a claim. We have had better service with American home shield and old republic. We will be canceling our service and returning to a reputable company. Don’t try to save money by using Select home warranty - they are a bad company

Horrible company to work with! Most of our claims were "fixed" but we ended up paying the service fee and then paying out of pocket to get the problem fixed. We would make a claim but took forever to hear back from the warranty company before having to call to find out who would do the work. The contractor's they hire take forever to schedule a service time. We have had to call them to see when they could come out. Completely unhappy with this company. Have no clue how they can be in a top rated warranty company.

Worst company I ever dealt with. Paid for a warranty, tried to use it, claim got denied, tried to cancel my policy and they charged me $128 of my $450 payment for nothing. I had no heat for 5 days waiting on the whole process from getting the service tech to getting denied. I changed the part myself in 30mins for only $114. Save your money they will try all they can do to get out of paying for anything or just get you to pay for the work and then deny reimbursement. STAY AWAY FROM SELECT HOME WARRANTY.

Have had policy since September 2018. Contacted them December 30th for repair technician to be assigned to dryer problem. Today is March 28th, and still no dryer. Last week our a/c unit started to freeze up. Technician came out and quoted $1000 for repair. SHW offered us $150 toward repairs. Stay far away from this company. We had another home warranty for years and never should have left to save the $10 a month.

This company is terrible in every way! Terrible customer service. You had better read all 17 pages of the policy so you understand there is a 30 day wait for coverage AND an additional 30 days for replacement of an item (like refrigerator control board) oh and a fee to cancel once you figure all of that out! As an agent of 15 years, I have never experienced such awful treatment. (I didn't recommend them - my buyer chose them and it was worth it to him to lose money by cancelling). Stay away!

This is the worst warranty company I have ever had. Poor customer service, long waiting to get a representative. Very few providers in my area and send me someone 52 miles away that could not come for 2 weeks to repair a washer. Rude agents and they say they will try and get you someone sooner and it is not true. You call back and they tell you the same thing. They say they will send you a email or call to let you know and they don't send anything. I do not recommend this company.

I just got Select Hone Warranty’ and had a problem with my A/C. Called to have a serviceman come out & they could NOT get my name right. Then they tell me my A/C is NOT covered for leaks! I as livid. How is that possible? They wrote up the report that my refrigerator was not covered. IMADE A HUGH MISTAKE!!!!! If they had more people that could speak English, read, and write they might be a tad better. DO NOT USE THEM. I only gave them a star because that was the lowest.

This is the worst Warranty Company ever. BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR WARRANTY. SELECT WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER ANYTHING, THEY WILL NOT EVEN INFORM YOU THAT YOUR CLAIM WAS DENIED UNTIL YOU CONTACT THEM AGAIN. YOU CAN NEVER ACCESS THEIR WEBSITE. I ACTUALLY HAD A BETTER WARRANTY COMPANY BEFORE AND THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE VERY RUDE, ESPECIALLY A SO CALLED SUPERVISOR NAMED RON S. I am currently in the process of filing an executive COMPLAINT. Their employees inform you of one thing and 4 other people tell you different and they claim they have no record. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

This is the worst company ever.. They have no intention of ever paying for anything... DO NOT GET INVOLVED. its been a nightmare dealing with them.. they will not pay a claim small or big.. we have been giving the run around on everything. water heater.... denied washing machine.. denied heating unit... pay and will be reimbursed.. we haven't seen one dime.. 3 months ago and they keep taking double payments out of our account.. so finally its not worth the hours on the phone the emails back and forth.. they just screwed us around..

The WORST. I filled a claim for my ice maker ( not making ice )and the technician diagnosed a water pressure problem . Once you get that fix I will return to check the ice maker. Select warranty told me to hire my one plumber and they will refund me. Send the invoice and waited for 6 weeks. Now the they denied the claim for the plumber and the ice maker. Called and complaint but all I got were excuses. WORST company home warranty service .

Paid for the 5yr plan on a condo in October 2018. Now that we are in the winter, the heat is not working properly. Called yesterday....still nothing. Called today..put on hold for 10 min and then automation comes on phone to say I won't lose my place in line. Well they just called back and said they are still looking for someone. Good thing it's not below zero out. They said we should hear something by tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Select Home Warranty, should not be allowed to do business. As Americans, we have no one to protect us from such unethical companies such as SHW. They will not pay to fix anything, it's difficult to get in touch with them, or get a response from e-mail or phone contact. If you will notice, just about all of the good reviews for SHW simply deal with the sign-up process, I almost cry, when I think of the horror, these innocent trusting people will face when they file a claim with Select Home Warranty, this is when the nightmare begin. Do not trust or deal with Select Home Warranty

I have platinum plan of select home warranty for two of my rental houses, have very bad experiences of both. When my water leaking, they said it was not covered. When my water heater was required to be replaced by their contractor, they said it was covered. Basically, they cover nothing. When I asked to cancel my service, they did not say anything and just refused to do it.

Was told everything covered with just the deductible to pay tech. Sales rep insured me everything was covered. My heat system stopped working. Tech came quickly. Fine print though case under review. They say will ONLY cover $150 since I do not have service record from previous owner of home. I paid the $75 service fee to be left with no heat because company won’t cover over $150 without service record. Do not throw your money away on this company.

DO NOT BUY a warranty from this company. They are a rip off and will not pay out on your claims. Then qote you these contract clauses that the buyer never sees at purchase time, in order not to pay. This company has cost me $1013 thrown down the drain, in purchase cost and claims. They found a reason to only pay $100 of a $613 claim then when I tried to cancel the warranty I was told I had to pay a $75 admin fee plus reimburse them any money they paid to me in claims, which means I lose even more money and have to pay back the $100 they paid on the $613 claim.

Terrible terrible company. Call to file a claim and they never get back to you. You have to call back to find out the status of your claim ok nlybto find out that a contractor is not available or what needs to be fixed is not covered under their warranty. Always a loophole or exception to get them out of fixing what should be covered under warranty. Just out to get your money then find an excuse why they can't repair your problem. Horrible customer service, can't understand a single person you have to talk to. DO NOT PAY DOR THIS WARRANTY. You will highly disappointed

They wanted 3 years of maintenance records but we have only lived here for less than 15 months. They ended up giving us $150 for our ac that is $4400 to replace. Also the process took over a week & we are still without ac in the south. The company they hired to come out never showed. So we had to find another company on our own because they couldn’t provide another option. Also on more than one occasion we had to call back after they promised a response in 12-24 hours.

That Company refuse to Fix My AC and decide to give me the check $150 Which is a small fraction of My Cost $5000 Then they changed they mined accusing the policy not covered freon leaks, which by the way I do not have according to 3 different technician review. I has been denied in any coverage. Ii is was only one call during 11 month. I would do not recommend as a minimum.

DO NOT DO IT! Save your money to pay for what needs to be repaired/replaced. You will have to pay for it anyway in the end. Do not buy a contract like I did for 5 years and received nothing but aggravation. Why pay for a mess when life supplies that for free ? Just save your money and time... Once u raise a claim u will get to know true colors of this company. I had the same experience that Ravi and Monica mentioned below. They have put maximum of 150 dollars after they broke my ac unit by having 2 technicians sent. Previously it was working fine and now blower motor and compressor after their technicians broke all parts to get money from select. Now i have to pay 4000 dollars to fix my ac. i am taking all legal actions to get justice from this company - i will make sure that their license is cancelled. Select home scammers, my claim number is 285352 if i u have guts call me.

I hadn't heard anything for several days so I called and they said they notified me already that they had nobody in my area to complete the service. This is unacceptable since they took my zip code at the time the contract was signed. To date, they still have not sent out a service provider. DO NOT USE!

Never sign contract with them. My water heater broke in the cold winter time. They responded very slow. I hired a contractor to diagnose and send the report to Select home warranty. First they said it will be covered. Later came back and said leak is not covered. My contractor gave technical reason for the leak. They were so rude and messed up my email address during the communication and very rude in response. I would not recommend. Don’t fall trap on the pricing. They just want you to sign the contract.
