Liberty’s claim process, at least speaking for myself, has been stress free. I reached out to them when I noticed water leaking under my sink, and was lucky to get Allen to help me. He did great and got me assigned with a skilled plumber who made an appointment and came to my house the very next day. It took the guy maybe 20 minutes to fix the issue and he took care to clean the floor when he was done. I am really happy we went with Liberty. Their attention to detail and commitment to consistently providing quality service has not gone unnoticed.

We filed a claim last week on our broken fridge, we’ve been quarantined up in the catskills and made the mistake of overstuffing the refrigerator. This was entirely our fault and we were honest about it to the good folks of Liberty, they paid out $500.00 towards a new $750.00 fridge which retails for $950, we paid the $250 difference. When my pool heater wasn’t working and needed repair, I called Liberty and they sourced us a pool repair specialist immediately. He was great. Very friendly, came at the appointed time, and did not seem to struggle at all in repairing the item. I recently faced an issue with my oven where it had some weird code displayed and would not heat up. Frankly, I had no idea what to do. Thankfully, Liberty did. I called their lines and spoke with a really knowledgeable representative, whose name I believe was Ryan. He actually helped me troubleshoot and was able to get the code issue fixed and my oven working again, all by instructing me over the phone. When our HVAC unit suddenly stopped working, we were very fortunate to have Liberty Home Guard standing behind its commitment to us. Within a week they got the unit back up and running. To be clear, this was the complete opposite experience than what we had with our last home warranty company, American Home Shield. American Home Shield gave us the run around for weeks and in the end we had to find our technician and pay completely out of pocket. Here with Liberty, the technician arrived within 48h and diagnosed the issue as a faulty capacitor right on the spot. He came back a couple days later, replaced the part and it has been working perfectly ever since.

We decided to write this review as a token of our appreciation for a rep at Liberty Home Guard that went above and beyond. Chris helped us get signed up with a policy and also when we had an issue with a job quote we received from a contractor. This was not even related to a claim but we trusted Chris so decided to call him and get his take on the price. Chris asked to speak with the handyman directly and was so knowledgeable, that not only did he correct/improve the contractors scope of work, he got him to drop his price by 50%. Chris showed that he really cares about his customers and will go the extra mile for them. If the other reps are as high-quality as Chris I will remain a Liberty Home Guard customer for another 20 years.

I was unsure about whether or not to purchase a home warranty, as this was the first time I bought a home. But after doing A TON of research, I decided to go with Liberty, and I'm happy I bought their coverage. Their five-year policy was under what I wanted to spend per year on coverage and it covers absolutely everything, including our pool and septic system. When I had an issue with my air conditioning, Michael from their customer service ensured that we got a repairman right away. When the fix was completed I got a follow up call from Nicole to ensure everything went smoothly, which thankfully it did. Most importantly, they saved me over $600 on the repairs and recharge.

I've been a customer of Liberty Home Guard for four years now. I originally purchased a one year policy. They helped me with replacing my Air Conditioning that year. That was my only claim that year but the savings paid for the policy a few times over so I decided to renew and upgrade to a three year plan when my original policy expired. Over the years since, I've unfortunately had to make a few claims. That said, Liberty did not disappoint, not even once. Their technicians always seem qualified technicians, and I I know for every claim the savings will be real and significant. Carlos and Jake have been two reps I’ve spoken with in the past who have helped me out and I also want to say thank you to them, they are a significant part why I’m writing this review.

Liberty Home Guard recently helped me with our heating system. At first I was not sure what was making the noise but when I spoke with the agent at Liberty Home Guard, he said he had a feeling it was my HVAC system so he went ahead and assigned an HVAC specialist to my issue. He was actually able to come out the next day which I appreciated. When he came, he went straight to the heating system. It turned out that our blower motor fan was loose. He made the fix, cleaned up and left. The entire job took him about 45 minutes. Actually, as I’m writing this review, I’m having a similar issue with our clothes dryer, so I plan on making a claim with Liberty Home Guard again later today. Hopefully this one goes as smoothly as the last one. If it doesn’t, I will make sure to come back here and update my review.

Furnace went out in 20 degree weather. We paid the emergency fee for a technician to come out, knowing it wouldn’t be covered which was fine. Was told to have the tech call the approval line with a diagnosis- called 3 times and sat on hold. Called customer service and was told the resolution department was closed because techs don’t come out on weekends. When I asked why I was told to call and who the tech would be speaking to, I was told no one. No other excuse. I was told to call back on Monday. We waited until Monday. Called back and had to speak with 3 people until this was escalated. I was told Monday night we would have answer. The resolution team apparently called me, no missed calls or voicemails, to verify what was actually wrong. Even though documentation was provided with a diagnosis and a quote. Another 1-2 business is what we were told. Without heat in winter. Called again, they said they needed more information because it was provided. I had to read off the paperwork that was actually sent and got told someone must be confused. Another 1-2 business days until it was escalated again. Called back Tuesday. Was told they needed all information regarding on old unit because they’ll only replace and cover that one. Another 1-2 business days. Wednesday get a call saying they agree our unit needs to be replaced but we should go with their suppliers and get a better price and we’d receive a better compensation, when I asked for that to be written down I was told the lady I spoke with didn’t say that. I repeated it back to her and she said yes she did but couldn’t get it in writing. Just kept saying she would send the resolution via email and would work with the person typing it to see if they could add things but couldn’t. She kept suggesting their suppliers and offering us a better deal, but would deny it when repeated back to her again. She said they would have our options in…. 2-3 business days. When I told her we needed this done I got told to listen to her as she repeated the phrase of using their suppliers. When I told her I couldn’t wait another 3 business days, she said our outcome would be better. I asked for everything in writing. She apparently couldn’t do that. I’ll admit to becoming annoyed at this time, especially when she became argumentative. I would stay away from this place at all costs. The outcome for using my own quote was way less than the metal on the old unit is worth. If you want to wait 1-3 business and get a run around for everything, then this is the place for you. Otherwise stay away. Mind you, asking to speak with a manager… they also say you’ll get a call in 1-2 business days.

What is worse than negative stars? Cliff note version: DO NOT USE LIBERY HOME GUARD if you expect them to have any decency, honesty, or if you expect them to actually help. I submitted a claim on October 31, 2023 due to my home heater not working and it remains broken as I write on December 6, 2023 December 12, 2023 December 22, 2023. A Liberty technician was sent, and he reported that the pressure switch was the issue. Because labor for install is not included, I had my technician out to install the new switch only to find out that Liberty sent the wrong pressure switch. So at this point I have paid the $125 claim fee and a $150 service call fee for my technician even though he could not replace the part because Liberty made a mistake. After it was brought to Liberty’s attention that the part was incorrect, the new part would NOT be released until I returned the incorrect part to USPS. They also refuse to reimburse me for the claim fee or the service call fee that was wasted because of their error. Once I returned the incorrect part, I had to wait on the next shipment. The next shipment included the correct pressure switch AND other parts that were 'accidently' ordered. Again requiring me to make a trip to USPS for Liberty’s mistake. During this time, I called my technician to install the correct pressure switch. Despite the part being replaced, and having to pay another service fee to my technician, the unit is still not working. I called Liberty once again to let them know the issue is not resolved and the issue was not what their technician said it was. The first call, the individual said a technician should give me a call in 1-2 business days and there would not be an added fee because it was within the 60 day window from the start of the claim. I did not receive a call, so I called back. Upon my second call to Liberty, since their technician had not reached out, I was told there would be another $80 fee for the technician to come back out to diagnose the issue. The individual with Liberty that I spoke to even asked me to send a diagnosis report from my technician. My tech was only at my house to install the part that Liberty’s tech previously said I needed. I did not employ my technician for anything more as I have a home warranty company that should be able to do what a home warranty is supposed to do. I made it clear that the Liberty technician needed to be dispatched and that I would not be paying the $80. I logged into the website today to find a message that my claim was on hold. I received the following message: “You are seeing this notification because we have either attempted to contact you and have been unsuccessful, or because we are awaiting information from you in order to progress your claim. Please contact us at your earliest convenience so we can resolve this hold. The best way to do so is by using our live chat feature below, or by calling us.” This is despite the fact that I received a call from someone at Liberty yesterday and spoke with someone about my claim. I informed them once again that the heater was still broken. The intended part was finally sent to me by Liberty and my technician was able to install it. Despite that part being installed, as directed by the Liberty technician, the heater is still not working. I spoke to yet another individual this morning and she restated the same things with no comprehension as to why I will not be paying more or doing the work for Liberty. I have a 2 year old and a 3 year old and have not had a heater for all of November and December. Even without children, this is not acceptable. I will give Liberty credit for training their customer services representatives well. They sound like well programed computers that can calmly restate the exact same thing again and again and again even when it makes no sense. Even after a technician was sent back out and agreed the unit needed to be replaced, LHG tried to offer me $500 in lieu of the contractual cap amount of $2000 per the contract. Another round of calling them, waiting, explaining simple facts to them, and not getting anywhere. Again, the claim for my heater was submitted on October 31, 2023. It is now December 12, 2023 December 22, 2023 and I still do not have a functioning heater. Liberty remains incapable of calling back when they say they will and will not respond to emails. Policy section H.2. states, “We have the right to request purchase records, repair / installation records, maintenance records, certifications, and home inspection reports, among other pieces of evidence, for any reason at any time, including but not limited to reviewing any claims, or reviewing Our decision to deny any claims. Should you not provide Us with the aforementioned pieces of evidence, We reserve the right to limit or deny Your repair, replacement, and / or cash in lieu of repair or replacement.” Section H.3. also states, “All Covered items must be in place and in proper working order on the Effective Date of this Agreement. This Agreement does not cover any known or unknown pre-existing conditions.” I only have a home warranty policy (because clearly they are a scam) as I received it with the purchase of my home. With the purchase of a home, I do not have maintenance records. I offered to send the home inspection, and despite that proving the system was in working order, they would not accept the inspection and provide the correct contribution amount. I’m out $275 because of Liberty’s scam and even more in the time spent following up, pushing my claim since they wouldn’t, being home for technicians, and returning parts for them.

Our furnace was acting up and has been intermittently problematic. I was worried Liberty would refuse us coverage because it was our second time filing a claim on the item. My concerns were unfounded, they sent out a repairman the next day and they applied the coverage limit to the payout, saving us thousands of dollars. A fantastic rep, Nashla reached out and took some more details regarding the issue we were having with our Air conditioning system. Smart and reliable team that takes initiative. Whenever I have had an issue they’ve always jumped at the opportunity to handle it for me. Even for things that are outside of coverage. For example our barbecue wouldn’t turn on, even though it wasn’t part of my policy they still sent a handyman to help us out. Their service is awesome. I strongly recommend them.

John made my home warranty experience a breeze. I initially signed up with him for a 3-year policy but after my last claim I think I’m going to convert it to a 5-year one. The speed with which they sort claims out is great and the savings are the real deal. They hooked me up big time when my central heating unit broke. They fully replaced it and instead of costing me about $5,500, which is what their contractor told me he would have charged, I only spent around $2,500. They have definitely surpassed my expectations and provided value to me and my family. I look forward to being a customer with them for years to come.

I've had a great experience with Liberty up until now. I do currently have an ongoing claim (about 5 days), and I’m hopefully to get it resolved soon. It is for my Thermador oven, which I know can be difficult to source parts for because it is a bit older (approx. 20 years). That said, I do feel comfortable writing this review because on my past 4 claims Liberty achieved high marks in both convenience and savings. Also, Jake the representative I spoke with at Liberty regarding my Thermador assured me that based on the breakdown, my oven issue would be fully covered, which was a relief to say the least. If something does go wrong or differently with this claim and my Liberty experience, I do plan to come back and update this review.

I called and got connected with Lorraine when my central heating system stopped working. She worked fast, and I had a technician at my place two days later. The guy knew his stuff and was able to reanimate the system on the next visit, which was another two days later. All in all, we were out of heat for four days which was tough, but for a home warranty company Liberty moved lightning fast and we saved about $650. Lorraine was very helpful, checking in on us and you could tell she cared about our welfare. By the way, the technician even cleaned the area after he was done, which while not necessary, was greatly appreciated. Thank you to the entire team that helped us out here.

The house we bought unfortunately had an older plumbing system, and we were extremely concerned about the potential for issues with it down the line and the associated costs. Because of this, we decided to purchase a home warranty. We did a ton of research and Liberty Home Guard appealed to us the most. While we unfortunately did have a few plumbing issues, Liberty Home Guard stood behind their commitments to us and handled each issue, soup-to-nuts. I just submitted my first claim with them and it was easy to both create the claim and see it resolved. To create the claim, I filled out their form online and as soon as I hit the submit button I got a call for their customer service team. They informed me that they have a repairman available to come to my home the next day and even showed me the repair company’s good reviews online. He came fully prepared and the issue was completely fixed the next day. I’m hopeful that this was not just beginner’s luck and that my future claims will be handled with the same level of care. I do plan to update this review if the next claim or future claims go awry. Thank you for the quick turnaround Liberty!
