Landmark Home Warranty company offers two main home warranty plans for homeowners. The coverage plans include a Home Systems Plan which covers systems such as a water heater, air conditioner, and pipe leaks. How much does Landmark Home Warranty charge for its service call fee?

Service call fees (SCF) vary by state and plan, and within each plan, there are two pricing structure options. In Utah, Idaho, and Oregon, SCFs are either $60 or $100; in Nevada, there is the choice of $65 or $100; Arizona and Texas have the options of $70 or $100. Plans with the lower of the two service call fees have a higher annual premium, and the plans with the higher SCF ($100) have a lower annual premium.

I had Landmark service for almost 4 years. The first three years they were OK, but the last year every time I filed a claim, it seemed that the claims representative's we're trying to find ways to not pay on the claim. The last two claims, the contractor sent were not the best contractors. One missed diagnosed the problem, causing Landmark to deny the claim. When presented with the correct diagnosis, Landmark would not change their stance on the claim. On the second claim, the contractor had numerous charges above what Landmark would pay. However, the claims manager could not explain them.

The quality of contractors they use are terrible. The telephone response time is ridiculous. We have had our AC looked at several times so we decided to get a company not associate with Landmark out and they said the repairs done were hurting our unit in the long run. By the last issue I had. Nobody likes surprises and I feel I was deceived. What's covered and what's not should be clearly defined in 2 side by side columns, not hidden in a paragraph. Our A/C broke down, so we called Landmark, and they sent over a technician. Within 30 minutes of fixing the problem, the A/C started failing again. So we called them, once again, and after the technician left the second time, the air conditioner was failing again. I called them and told them not to send the same technician, yet they still did, so it was not a good experience. Plus, it turned out that our warranty didn't cover the problem that our system had. We spent about 10 days without an A/C, during hot summer days, until I finally hired a company to fix it. It turned out to be that the part that was failing was not the part that Landmark said, so I'm not really happy with them. On top of all of that, their customer service had an attitude when it came to answering my questions.
