The first tech I was sent had no clue what he was doing and literally didn’t speak to me when he came into my house. Plus I had to wait a long time to be assigned a tech so it was frustrating to have to request another. My air conditioner was out for approx a month before you guys sent anyone that could actually fix it.

They don’t cover anything. You’re better off getting your own people so you don’t waste $75 on a service call. Customer service does not provide support, is very condescending and threatened to hang up on me. They look for any excuse not to pay.

Horrible! After 5 claims, Average time for a contractor to respond is 3 weeks. Last Contractor said HWA doesn't pay in a timely manner so no contractor wants to work for them. He accepted mine by mistake that was already 3 weeks out.

Tried to get 30 year old hot water heater replaced and you gave the technician nothing but grief. Your company is so bad you couldn’t get a technician to come and look at it. I waited for a month and half so I had to hire a plumber to come replace it.

They answer the phone, but they never have a solution. They always tell me "oh, no problem, you've been escalated, you'll get an email" and then then they hang up. And I never get a solution. I realize it's not that the customer service Rep, they're just answering the phone but still, it's like, if you can't help me or you can't answer my question, then give me to someone who can. I paid them for service on my air conditioning unit. And they said "I can't find anyone in the area, if you want to find somebody, go ahead and then you let us know and we'll give you $50 or $75 or something towards that service." Well, I pay them to do that. I work, I travel for work. I'm not sitting at home trying to figure out how to fix the things in my house.

I cooperated with everything and each time we submitted for our AC issue, we kept getting the run around from the warranty company about always needing additional things after we spoke with a representative. It was so bad that I ended up paying out of pocket to get my issue resolved. Horrible company.

You’re too expensive and you stiffed me on claims. After you couldn’t find me a plumber you said if I find a plumber I could get the repairs done and submit the detailed invoice to be reimbursed. Then you denied the claim saying it wasn’t called in by the plumber and you never said he had to.

We are going on 19 days since we received a below market value offer to replace our dishwasher. We were offered a DIGITAL Lowes gift card and it’s been nearly 3 weeks and still have not received it via email. I could send a Lowes giftcard to anyone in less than 5 minutes, yet this company allows up to 25 days. Ridiculous!!! We are not happy about this process at all.

Our air conditioning unit went out and so I called, made a claim, and they contacted a contractor to come out and fix it. The contractor was having difficulty communicating with the company, the company was having difficulty communicating with the contractor, and they ended up using us as the go-between, and it took 3 months for us to actually get the repair. Finally, we ended up not going with them and hiring our own company to do the work, and Home Warranty of America reimbursed us.

My claim was closed before the issue was fixed. I called to get the claim reopened and was told I needed to open a new claim and pay another service call fee. I insisted on speaking with a supervisor and was told I would get a call in 24 hours. Very upsetting given my A/C wasn't working in 100° weather. Will not be renewing my policy given these practices.

Disappointed that they didn't follow-through with communications or directions on how to proceed for a claim. They told me to call for an appointment and pay the repairman, and I followed their process. Then I didn't hear from them again until I reached out. That's when they said I didn't follow their process (none was given except call and pay) so they were not going to reimburse us for our repair. Very disappointed, it obviously is set up to use their repairman and then not allow the claim.

When I called for the warranty I said that the only reason I wanted to pay the extra to include the pool was because I was told the lights usually start giving problems around the 5th year. My pool is 6 years. The guy said that I should be ok getting it. Guess what? After 3 + months in one of the lights is having issues: they denied my claim.
