First American Home Warranty has an awful service. It feels like they are scamming people with the promise that they never deliver. You pay premium and service fee but after waiting for months, nothing gets done. Their strategy seems like is just wait out. I tried to call customer service and more than once, they hang up in the middle of the call just because I was asking for more info. I feel like all my money is a total waste. My recommendation: Stay Away from First American Home Warranty.

Your company does not follow up with their customers. They believe the company's they hire that are F rated companies on the BBB. I would not recommend this company there are plenty of other companies to go with that are cheaper and believe the customer not the worker that comes out and don't know what their doing have to u-tube it to know how to fix a stove. Do not waste your money with this warranty company. I had a $400 garbage disposal go bad, and they only offered me a $50 cash out. How do you replace a $400 garbage disposal with $50? This is after waiting 2 weeks for the company to get the cash out offer. Customer service is completely useless and supervisors are never available. This is the worst warranty I have ever dealt with!

I submitted a claim to fix my dryer 3 months ago and paid the $75 service fee. It took 3 weeks for the first repairman to come out. It needed a part which arrived at my door 2 days later. 2 no shows and over 2 months later and I still can't get anyone to come fix it. I lodged a complaint with the BBB as well as calling this company multiple times. Last time I spoke with them they told me I needed to be "more patient". Stay away from this company!

Hello Joshua. Our records indicate you placed a claim on May 30, 2021 for your clothes dryer not heating up. First American dispatched an independent contractor, Sears, to diagnose the failure. The contractor reported a part was ordered and will return to complete repairs.

On July 15, 2021, the contractor reported they did not have a technician available to complete the repair and rescheduled for August 17, 2021.

As of August 19, 2021, the contractor reported an appointment is scheduled for August 24, 2021 to install the heating element.

First American looks forward to completing the repairs to your clothes dryer and apologizes for any inconveniences you experienced during the handling of the claim.

Please be advised, First American considers this claim pending.

They are really terrible. I had the AC go out on my condo and they kept scheduling it out to contractors who don’t even work on the building. Each mistake would cause an additional day of no AC delay. I finally had to find my own company yet it still took First American an additional 2 days to approve. I talked to 8 different people and spent 10 hours on the phone. My advice is use another warranty company,

This company is horrible. They take their time to fix anything and then try to rip you off with swapping a $2500 dryer for a $750 one. No way, it's only 1.5 years old! On top of that they never completely repaired our fridge. The company that came out to fix it stated that it needs to be replaced, First American closed the claim. After many calls nothing happened. Hello Victor. Our records indicate you placed a claim on March 9, 2021 for your clothes dryer which does not stop spinning, even when turned off. First American dispatched an independent contractor, Arizona’s Heating and Cooling Doctor LLC, to diagnose the failure. The contractor reported the control board and two relays have burned out and recommended replacement of the parts. First American attempted to locate the parts, however, the parts are no longer available.

On April 6, 2021, First American offered a replacement dryer as the parts for repair are not available. Per your home warranty contract, First American will replace with equipment of similar features, capacity and efficiency however does not match brand, color or dimensions. You declined the replacement offer and requested a cash payment. Per the home warranty contract, First American may offer a cash payment in lieu of repair or replacement at the company’s negotiated rates with suppliers which may be less than retail.

On April 9, 2021, you accepted the cash payment in lieu of replacement. Please allow 7-10 business days for the processing and delivery of the check.

Please be advised, First American considers your claim closed. Thank you.

After a cost of over $600 for the home Warranty and paying a $75 service fee, two weeks later they tell me they are not covering what the contractor has told them needs to be done to have the washing machine working properly since water backs up trough the drain tube into my laundry room floor. Why do i need a Home Warranty if they charge me a service fee and a high year fee and still don't fix the problem? Don't get caught in this scam. Guess that's why they need to advertise themselves all the time making promises and offers they do not cover.

I just cancelled the service. Had a pipe break and was told it would not be covered as it was due to freezing. Also when they have replaced any broken items the replace with the cheapest bottom of the line brands that soon break again. Will just bank the $58 per month I was paying them and cover the repairs myself from the savings. Don't buy this warranty.

I have been dealing with a claims issue for weeks. The staff are extremely rude, rarely answer or return calls or messages, come up with new excuses not to cover at every turn, outright lie, and overall provide egregious and borderline fraudulent customer service. Their technicians will make the laziest & conveniently not-covered 'diagnoses' which means you have to call them back repeatedly (charging you $75 a pop) and end up having to pay out of pocket for a third party you trust anyway. Can you give 0 stars? Stay away!!

I'm a retired plumber. I was requested to look at a residents plumbing problem which I repaired in 10 minutes. The plumbing company representative part of " AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY" charged $125 and claims he could not due the repair because of mold in the bathroom. So for $125 the poor woman got no service from her home warranty company. I did the repair in 10 minutes I used a Phillips screwdriver and a 8" pair of channel lock pliers. Total cost. My charge. $40. What is wrong with this picture???

Almost a month after placing a service request and the issue has not been resolved. Endless promises from FAHW on a timeline have all been lies. The contractor they chose does not answer the phone, does not call back from voicemails left, does not respond to text, and does not answer emails. Out of six representatives, only one actually sounded like they wanted to help. A manager stated he would make some calls and get back to me within two hours. Five hours later I call back and nobody has any idea what I'm talking about. Choose another warranty company.

Do your research. Find out how these companies are fraudulent and scam the customer by providing subpar or no service. I’m months in for 2 claims that still remain unfixed and unresolved. They provide fake numbers for nonexistent Reps assigned to your claim and do not follow upon anything. Don’t expect any movement on an AC claim in the middle of summer. They hire contractors who charge more than the market rate for plumbing or electrical services for out of pocket costs. And most so called "covered items" have out of pocket costs. So I ended up having to pay the $75 service call fee and find my own contractors for AC, water heater, plumbing, etc. It is better not using them at all. In addition, when I want cash out option, they put me on hold for over an hour, then came back on the phone to tell me that to replace the water heater, the cash out is only about $200, which is not enough to cover half of the cost of the water heater!

They say it's in manufacturer's warranty so they can't touch it. Manufacturer covers parts not labor charges. They are reluctant to schedule appointment through manufacturer's technician even if manufacturer is providing the part for free, first american home warranty wants to send their own contractor. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You would do much better to set money aside each month and hire your own repairman. Because you are at the mercy of whoever FAHW contacts out. And the repairman is working for FAHW, not you, the customer. And they are limited to how much they can help you. For example, if you need major repairs for your AC, they may just replace a simple part or put a pound of frion just to appease the customer. And it may take multiple trips before finding out that they cannot help you and won’t necessarily say why. It’s a CON game. Buyer beware.

Do not buy a warranty from these people. They make big promises but do not deliver. You usually end up paying as much or more than you would without the warranty. The HVAC coverage is especially worthless and they appear to work in conjunction with contractors to pull off repair scams. I don't usually leave bad reviews but this is so bad i couldn't resist.

You call the network plummer and set up an appt. My appt was set up 2 weeks from when I called. 2 weeks? Yes !! If you can wait 2 weeks for an active leak then this shady company is for you. And the water damage that happens while waiting 2 weeks is not covered by them. It is designed so you never use it! I paid for a year up front. So I cancelled 5 weeks ago, and I am still waiting for my check!! They don't let you cancel over the phone. You have to send them a email and you never know if they received it. I have been with First American for years and the last two years as been a terrible experience. Seems all the techs must go through an approval process for parts/repair which is pushing all repair out several weeks. Our washer broke on 1/10/20 and it has been over a month and it is still not repaired. Last time was my hot water heater, which also took 3 weeks! First American needs to fix their process or they will lose customers.

We have had this company for a year, In Nov. our oven started to act up. We called the company and we got about 3 different companies to look at the oven. The last person came out and broke my good oven. So on Christmas eve I found out I have no good ovens and I am on the phone with this company for 4 hours. The people have no idea what they are doing at the call center and love to leave you on hold. They say they will call you back and never do. I am still waiting for this issue to be fixed now almost 2 months later.

First American is the Worst home warranty company I have ever felt with. I own 5 properties, I have old Republic on 3 of them. First American is expensive, the service is terrible. It has taken two weeks to get a faucet repaired & it’s still not done. A toilet leak 8 days & I am still waiting for someone to show up? Save your money, anger and frustration go somewhere else.
