This company is a disaster! They only try to patch things over and I have had so much trouble getting them to take any action. We had a repair done, where we had to come out of pocket over $1,000, and the same exact part broke 66 days later. They refused to pay for the replacement, because it was 6 days past the 60 day warranty. Previously, it took them over 3 months to get the part and fix our broken stove. More trouble than it's worth!

30 days since hot water heater broke. Took over a week and multiple call for first company to look at heater. Two weeks later and many calls I’m told I’ll need to pay 300 dollars. Asked to see what I’m paying for in my contract and the phone rep states no access to e mail. Asked to speak to manager and sat on hold over an hour. Still no water heater. Reps are not helpful and hard to understand. I’ll be firing this company as soon as they fix the water heater. I may need to hire a lawyer to get that done...

I live in Texas. I have dealt with American Home Shield and the service providers they send since 2017 and it’s July 2019. I keep paying for one more call as I wait weeks to get the air conditioner fixed. It’s still broke! The only way I get anything done is calling someone on my own and paying out of pocket. What is the benefit of American Home Shield? I call American Home Shield and still nothing!!

We have been with AHS over 10 years, but Customer Service has become proressively worse. Our AC-Compressor running inefficiently, as diagnosed by technician, but AHS refuses to honor their contract due to 'unit is still running'. Spent countless hours on hold, but cannot get hold of USA person. This is worst company ever and we wasted lots of hard-earned money. We now pray this company is shut down soon.

been a customer for years recently water heater experience horriiiiiiiible, 11/2 I=on the phone supervisor will not answer the phone over 10 days to get a authorization will tell you they will call you back, in your dreams, never happens, had to take thing under my hands and solve my problem. They only created a bigger problem that I had. DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE, really quit to get yuour money but not to solve your problems.

This is a rip off. I had to pay way out of pocket of $100 service fee and $610 on what AHS didn't pay. AHS paid $50 and I had to pay $710 and that’s not even counting my monthly service fees. And it took over a week to get my ac unit fixed with the contractors they use. It was a waste. Oh and by the way, the part was free bc it was still under warranty. Insane.

We have had AHS for 7 years had only 3 claims put in and 3 claims denied for various reasons that they chose. To give you an example our heater to our pool went out and they said they wouldn't fix it because it was due to the exposure outside hum heater to the pool where else would you put it in the laundry room. We finally had enough and canceled our contract now they want a cancellation fee. They can take it out of the 10,080 that we have given them and got nothing in return but excuses.

I am having the most terrible time with American home shield. All the information is top-secret no one can answer questions when you get into a situation where one of your appliances breaks down. I do not recommend this company whatsoever! The companies that they refer you to to fix your appliances are so incredibly rude it’s u believable. I’m a little older and I feel completely discriminated against! This company one star is really over writing it. But one must do that to submit this posting Beware beware beware!

Worst home insurance company ever!!!! I’ve been waiting for 3 weeks for their contractors to show up and fix my a/c. Two guys showed up but they don’t know how to get the work done. It’s been almost a month and I’m still having issues with my a/c and still waiting for their contractors to fix my problem! It’s sad that this company scams people’s money and nothing gets done!!! Terrible experience. One claim (garbage disposal) went average. 4 months later, in an unrelated matter, called to ask 3 questions, got no help so I cancelled on the spot (April 14, 2019). Over 60 days later I still get calls and notifications being past due. When I tell them to look at their screen, they agree I'm not and apologize. I've documented all interactions and sending to their Corporate office and BBB.

After buying my house which included 1 free year of American Home Shield, I decided to stick with them as long as they provided a good value. After close to a year, I requested a service to check my HVAC and get a diagnostic that indicates an upgrade recommendation, the work order was closed like that. There were no help thru the phone either. Contract cancelled.

One more negative review. I requested cash out option 11 days ago. Today they let me know that my request most likely will be processed today. Sounds like after years of being loyal customer I have to find alternative solution on competitors side. Also they using contractor who will try to make extra $600 only for water line modification in order to install new the same water heater. Their equipment replacement option will not cover total cost of the heater and labor.

I thought have American Home Shield is to keep me from paying huge repair bill. I have been a customer for over ten years and everytime I call them to come out nothing gets fix right away. We called regarding my air conditioner on 6/4/2019 no one came out to look at it til the 7th of June. Now they are saying it is my compressor and I have to pay over 500.00 to get it fix. Beware American Home Shield do not like standing up to their contract when it come to fixing air conditioners. If I have to pay 500.00 why do I have American Home Shield?

My central AC went out in early May, I called AHS and the tech came out and just charged me for 2lbs of freon even though noticed a leak in the evap coil. June 3, the AC failed again. The techs came out on 6/8 and said the evap coil was leaking which let all my freon out. It's the 6/12 and I'm still waiting for AHS to deny or auth the repairs. From what I'm reading from other reviews from customers with my exact issue, I'm probably better off calling my own contractor because AHS will probably little to nothing.

One star only because I can't give them a zero. Shoddy repair network, I've spent hours on hold, over one month and counting to get a simple washing machine timer fixed - still not repaired. They rarely replace anything - you are better off just hiring your local guy and getting it fixed yourself. Don't fall for this -they oversell their plan, it's too good to be true and a total scam. My next stop is filing complaints with the Attorney General's office for deceptive trade practices.

We had a water heater failure and American home shield won’t cover the necessary accompanying parts needed for the replacement, basic items like code required earthquake bands! They will only cover the actual unit ( about $400.) and nothing else leaving the consumer covering 75% of the costs of replacement. We have to pay over $1,200 even though we supposedly have this coverage for full replacement. Rip off.

American Home Shield scammed me--took my money and then told me that my problem, which I VERIFIED was COVERED (broken kitchen faucet), would not be covered because of ONE MISSING SCREW!!! I was on the phone with them for FOUR hours today!! Not only do they outsource their calls and claim to be unable to transfer you to a supervisor in the USA, but they disconnected me several times!! Waste of time. We took out the policy 8 months ago. We had to make our first claim due to a blocked drain in the bath. a plumber came and couldn't fix it, then we had to endure days of repeated calls, misinformation, Having to call back because no-one ever called back when they said they would. only to be told after two weeks the blockage wasn't covered. So we wanted our money on a policy that doesn't even cover a blocked drain. My advice - find another company that knows what it's doing, has staff who care, and who know their jobs, and dont waste your money with these people.

It's Charleston...It's HOT...and my AC went out. I called AHS to see if I could get someone out TODAY. No.. it would be 4 hot days and 3 hot night before they could send someone out. The only way to expedite the service is if the Heat index was 105. What the heck am I paying for. So I called another HAVC company...they can be here in a two hours. Again...what am I paying for?

American Home Shield experience was totally un profession service providers. The service Tech did not even attempt to trouble issues, and made unsupported documentation of findings. American Home Shield customer service representatives refused my request to send another service company, Enthought the original provide had failed on multiple trips to correct issues. Adding insult to the process the American Home Shield customer service representative refused to allow me to speak to a manager to address my concerns. I think these service programs are a scam.

I am an American Home Shield Customer for about one week more. I had a water heater issue four months ago. It took me one month to get the issues resolved. The new water heater was replaced and went out today. Upon contacting American Home Shield, they told me to call the manufacturer of the water heater for repair. I have spent over 250 hours on the phone this year with this issue. Must go somewhere else

While signing they said they will ensure that all the equipments including appliances and AC/Heat will be taken care of. When my AC stopped working they charged me $100 and said all rest of the AC replacement cost will come from me being an upgrade. Meaning they paid for nothing. To cancel the service they made me hold for more than 70 min. Horrible experience. My neighbor had an exactly similar experience with his Microwave and he also cancelled the policy. Absolute fraud.

They send a plumber who refused to even attempt to fix the problem and just shifted the blame to the contractor. Had to have another plumber come and fix it. It was not the contractor's fault. I contacted the company to complain and was told I would be issued a refund. When the refund did not post, I contacted the company and was told they changed their mind and would not be offering a refund. Please do not waste your money on this company.

My air condition compressor was replaced in 2017 then broke again 2019. Technician supposedly fix it but not working. . My AC still not working on this memorial weekend. The company states that they will be back out to fix on Memorial monday. In the meantime I have to sit and wait until monday without AC. No reimbursement or fee waiver. The consumer comes last with this company. Bad company.

I made a claim for my 11-year-old oven's door that did not close properly. The tech came and told my tenant that the hinges needed to be changed and the repair would be covered by the Insurance. But 3 days later I had a voice message from AHS saying that the damaged hinges were not normal wear and tear. They have been misused?! How the tech can know the difference between a misused hinge or an old one?! And how do you misuse an oven door? Plus I have paid a 100$ service fee without having any estimate to repair my oven. It is a scam! I have cancelled my contract.

Very frustrated with how a simple service call been taken care of. Our refrigerator ice machine had stopped working, we called AHS, they sent a company called Premier Appliance Services, its been almost 8 weeks and the problem is still not resolved, My wife and I have spent over 3 hours on the phone with AHS and still no resolution, Premier Appliance Services, has a yelp 1.2 rating. I cant speak to any supervisors at AHS, because they are busy, I tend to get brand new customer services representatives at AHS who cant get a resolution, I am a very unhappy customer.

I have had AMERICAN Home Shield for over 30 years and it USED TO BE a great company but now that they are out sourcing customer service (and maybe other reasons) it has gone down hill. I have been waiting over a month for parts to my stove top. I cook 3 meals a day for my family and is so important because of my husband’s health issues. We have three homes covered by this company and are planning on leaving two properties next month and the third as soon as the contact is over. So disappointed by their service, their response.

After several unsuccessful attempts to get service, (communication errors on both their part and contractor's part) I asked that my $75 service fee be refunded. They offered only HALF a refund, and THAT was after me REALLY pushing hard. I should think that after almost a WEEK of no service, they should be HAPPY to provide a simple refund. Additionally, their customer service representatives are a bit hard to understand with their accents. They state the calls are going to Memphis, but I suspect it's some outsource.

Wish I could give them 0 stars. Nightmare A/C repair that took 2 weeks to fix. They erroneously canceled technician to come diagnose problem, which delayed repair, then they kept telling me and the technician the part was in stock, but when he’d go to pick it up it wasn’t there. Every time I’d call to complain I got an international call center and those agents know NOTHING! Awful customer service. Stressful experience. We quit them.

A repairman sent by AHS did a faulty job on my washing machine repair which resulted in three rooms of my house flooding. I called AHS immediately. Their response? "We're not responsible for water damage, sir." Then they charged me the $75 fee. Contractor did not accept responsibility. AHS does not accept responsibility. What's left? I am out nearly $4K for my home insurance deductible. Cheats. Crooks. Horrible company. Horrible service. Would never recommend. Will never use again.

Where is the negative Star? I have been without a washing machine for 2 weeks. Repair tech told us that it was not repairable due to cost of parts and age of unit. Now they have ordered the parts and are going to repair. They have been out twice, while we take off from work. Still no repair! They try to fix with band-aids and duct tape. I have paid them over $3000 in monthly fees and dont want to help. I highly recommend you look elsewhere. Awful Customer Service too

American Home Shield has been nothing but a headache. From my past experiences, their customer service has been complete crap. The contractors they use are hardly ever reliable. I've been billed numerous times for a "service fee" when it only should have been charged once. There is zero communication between the contractors and AHS. Terrible customer service, long holds and CSRs and "supervisors" sound identical and robotic. Will offer patchwork solutions so their contribution is minimal and will look for any excuse to not pay for major repairs. If your hvac needs replacing they WILL NOT replace it and you will have to pay for $$$ freon every couple of months until the system fails and they find a way to void your warranty by their contractor's negligence.

Terrible company to do business with,I had a home in Florida and they denied my claim for an AC unit even though it was covered in the plan and now I have a condo in Illinois and they refused to do the simplest work under the sink saying it was not covered . I am not going to let this issue go and it takes about 20 minutes to get anyone on the phone .Just the worst and most unreliable company to work with and will use any loop hole to get out of doing not paying the simplest tasks.

I do not consider the issue resolved. I stand by my position that AHS is obliged to provide reimbursement for the work their crew performed. The issue was misdiagnosed and the work was unnecessary and I have provided sufficient evidence of such. AHS originally agreed to cover this expense due to the mistake and then renigned once the final bill came in. You have made it clear that AHS will make no effort to provide compensation. You recognize no responsibilty for pretty much any part of this fiasco that your representatives caused on my property.

Absolutely the worst consumer experience that I have ever had in my life. The vendors that they use for repairs are second rate, at best. I have had two different vendors out to repair a leaking pipe, and both times they did just enough for the repair to only last a few months. When I called AHS to request a follow up, I was told that their work was only guaranteed for 60 days and I would need to submit a new claim and pay a THIRD deductible. The way AHS treats its customers is criminal.

The customer service representative was very knowledgeable about the company. The representative was a little bit intimidating in his approach. I did not purchase the plan and do not feel qualified to rate the company.

We received a home warranty as an incentive when purchasing our home. All 4 issues we paid to have them come out and check, they said they would not cover... even though they were existing issues when we purchased this home. We were quoted by the plumber for over 1000 dollars to put in a water regulator. A quick Google search tells you this should be no more than 300 dollars. It was a joke and a total waste of money. We will not be renewing our policy.
