I call November 4th 2019 for my refrigerator. The contractors was no good. Are supposed to reimburse the fee they didn't do it. They lied to me every time I call them. I heard them laughing at me in the background. I wouldn't wish this experience on my enemy. It should be a law against how they handled me. December 11th and the refrigerator still not fixed and must $75 have not been returned . I've been with them for 6 years. Unbelievable but true.

This company is a scam. We live in Topeka and they were unable to contract with a plumber in the area to check out our 15 y/o water heater, the one from Wichita comes 2 days a wk and wouldn’t work with our schedule. As a result we had to buy one on our own or wait more than a week. The same thing happened last summer with our air conditioner. They don’t pay the contractors enough but are happy to pocket your premium and $100 service call charge

Wish I had read the negative reviews before. They increased my monthly premium after a year which I didn't notice for several months. When I called they said they will credit me, and transferred me to another representative (Jordan) who after 20 minutes of being on the call was trying to sell me to stay and charged me an administrative fee for cancellation. BIG SCAM, stay away from this company, or you will regret it!

Had a sewer backup issue after moving in are new home for a week. Called american homensheild they send out a Plummer. He said he couldn't clean out the sewar line because the clean out is in the crawl space. He was here for 10 minutes and left didnt do or fix anything. The plumber told the American home shield that the floor will have to be torn out and there not covering it. That is false there are many other options that can be done. Since the plumber didnt do anything I wanted my 75 dollars refunded. They told me no. This company is scammers dont trust them.

Horrible experience ! Worst customer service ever! I have a problem with a bad leak of the toilet, I had to wait 4 days for some company they referred me to, to come out, just to tell me that they can’t do nothing for me for an other week. They took my money of course $125 immediately, but fixed nothing. When I called the warranty company and asked to send somebody else, they were rude and unhelpful. Most terrible company ever! Don’t use them, you’ll be very disappointed ! I’m paying them for years $98/ month , and when I need help they treated me terrible. Shame on them!

This company is a scam! My husband and I chose AHS to cover our home along with two other rental properties. We have placed 4 service calls in the last year with only 1 appliance being covered. We have had to wait up to two weeks for someone to come out and assess damage, have then had to pay for 4 service requests ($520), and have then been denied because “that specific part of the appliance is not covered”. We have spent more money in monthly fees and service fees than was covered by this company! Save your money and cancel this membership!

Started a claim Oct.18 2019 for my gas furance and it is Nov. 13 2019 and it is still not fixed . The people they sent have been here 5 times and now they are sending out another company for a second opinion and my daughter and i are here with it in the 30's almost a month later and its still not fixed. These people are a big joke and i would not recommend them at all.

This company is horrible! Zero stars is my real rating. They send out contractors that don't fix anything and come up with every reason in the book to not approve a claim. I had them for a 3 years and I finally got rid of them yesterday. I am now in the market for a new company because I hate being taken advantage of. This company is not here to help, they are just here to take your money and provide no real service. I hope it is sooner than later that they don't exist.

This is the worst company i have ever dealt with in my entire life. I do not know how they are not shut down yet. American Home Shield is a complete SCAM. Most of these positive reviews are FAKE and PAID for. Think its odd for every bad review 4-5 good ones pop up? Super generic reviews with no detail? ALL FAKE!!! AHS is a scam and they will do everything they can to NOT fix issues. I hope AHS gets sued for every penny they are worth and are shut down. Someone needs to investigate this scam company.

1 star is too much for this company. I used their service for 5 years. after submitting my first claim for a leaking water heater over 8 days ago, still nothing has happened. I now have flooring damage and mold that AHS will not admit responsibility for. This will be my last year with this "service". If you are looking around for a company like this, I advise to look elsewhere. Don't put yourself through more of a headache by having to deal with them.

The agents denied my claim for the secondary drip pan for my attic installed a/c. This pan is required by the building commission. My contract covers "all components and parts of the air conditioning system". Since the drip pan is required by the building commission, it is part of the "air conditioning system". The agent quoted a section of the contact that does not exist. It is completely false and does not exist in my contract. They just read from talking points without knowing anything about the contact.

I requested service 12 days ago. The technician they sent out did not even look for a problem, just said I would have to call someone else. I called someone else, they looked at the problem, and it was under my warranty with AHS. 7 days later, I am still waiting for AHS to sent out a technician. They said I can go ahead and pay for it myself if I don't want to wait. It's a scam.

Bait and switch. The contract which heretofore was not revealed in its entirety before payment, stipulated that replacement appliances would be of similar design and function. We had a Bosch microwave built-in oven which is part of our kitchen ensemble. The specified replacement was a Whirlpool unit. Unacceptable. This apparently is American Home Shield modus operandi. Do not expect a one-to-one replacement for your warranted appliances . Most unhappy and distressed with the outcome.

I haven't had my furnace fixed in over a year. They keep charging me $100 for a contractor to come out, they have been out over 7 times over a year and its still not fixed by the contractorthey choose, and now they tell me I have to pay out of pocket because I am over the spending limit. I keep telling them it wouldn't be over the limit if you had it fixe correctly the first time or the second. It's dishonest to pay for a service and not get it and then charge me for it especially since its been ongoing for over a year!

American Home Shield is the worst home insurance company. I do not recommend it. Work orders take weeks. You get a different answer each time you call and nothing changes. Forget about taking yo-yo a supervisor you will never ever be allowed to speak to one. I tried 4 times different days each time and nothing. No customer service. They do not care about getting anything repaired. You sorry just a number. Very disappointed with them.

These guys are the worst...If I could give them less than one star I would. Our water heater broke 3 months after buying our home. Clearly it should have been covered under the warranty. They offered us a smaller, inferior water heater because they said it had similar capacity. I declined. Then things got interesting. Long story short it took over 2 weeks to get our water heather replaced and it cost us over $1000 out of pocket. This is a total scam and not a true "warranty"

I called in March 2019 to cancel policy. Company will not quit billing me. I called in July and paid 90$ bill and was assured my account was cancelled and finalized. Now I not only have ANOTHER bill from them for 150$ (this is Oct. mind you), but they tuned me into a collection agency. Sadly my family feels I need to contact our lawyer to get this company to quit fraudulently billing me!

This company is a rip off, because is ridiculous that my frigidaire work well for 5 years, and they can not fix because the compressor is LG warranty only the part, but they do not want to cover the labor, how stupid is this company that I have to pay on my own the labor with a different private contractor $600 to have fix. I have a home warranty from American Home Shield that does not cover is you applicanse is on manufacture warranty, but the manufacturer warranty ion only for parts, something normal that the frigider stop working,

If there is a worse company in America I can't imagine what it would be. After requesting a change of service providers since the first one wasn't returning my calls, I scheduled an appointment with a second company. I would give 0. Our AC stopped working in the summer, and a contractor came over through AHS, but AHS said they need a second opinion, but the second opinion vendor they assigned has not showed up for 6 weeks and can't get a hold of them despite phone calls, emails. I call AHS everyday, but all I hear is they need a second opinion from a vendor. I tell them to re-assign the vendor for the second opinion. There are no other vendors in our region. Now in Iowa we are getting in to the fall with out AC and it's a matter of life or death.

Should also note that the service call by AMERICAN Home Shields air conditioning company who said my unit was operating normally and then tried to up sell me turned into a service call by a reputable air conditioning company and a $475.00 bill to fix my ac that according to AMERICAN home shield was “Perfect” save your money and RUN from these crooks
