What we like best is how quick the response is, that's great. What we don't like his how the primium keeps creeping up. We started in the $35 range, and now it's over $50 in just two years. That's quite the change.

Very disappointed with customer service. Many hours spent on hold. Calls never escalated or returned. All responses are poorly read from script by foreign call center. Odd that a company named American Home Shield outsourcing calls. Customer service is unable to transfer calls. Whoever answers is the only person you will talk to. Never ending circle of please hold. Week 6 of trying to get our fridge fixed.

Absolutely terrible! I have used them twice. Once for a plumbing issue and another for an electrical problem. The contractors they send will do as little as possible and tell you it is ok or they will come back to fix it. When you call and email them back, they NEVER answer or get back to you. And AHS doesn't care. They just want to collect your $$ every month. I have no idea why AHS has such high ratings. Probably a lot of fake reviews. I had to use them twice and both were horrible experiences. I am looking for another company to switch to. Don't waste your $$ with AHS.

We have paid for this warranty 9 months...we requested a service call on an electrical problem...I get the run around then I finally get someone and they tell me I while you have coverage for electric we wont cover a short..what am I paying for? Iam unsatisfied and they are fraudsters ..they happily take your money...but don't want to make repairs

I've been a member for years. My water heater started leaking in November 2019. AHS sent me their plumber who had terrible yelp reviews. I ended up putting in the new water heater myself. AHS said they would send me a check for $600 to pay for my water heater only. I've made calls to AHS shield every other week since November 2019 and they still haven't paid. I wish I didn't pay my membership advance or I'd go to another company.

This is a waist of money - needed to have a AC evaporator coil replaced - my regular AC company said it would be $2k. American home Shield said they would cover it but i'd need need to pay $2k in other charges - Gas Pipe Upgrade $175, Gas Stop $50, Hanging Kit $150, Hard Cast $150, Float Switch $175, Drain pan $300, Sediment Trap $75, Permit $275, Ductwork $275. SCAM

My contract automatically Renewed on 3/25/20, without any notice my payment went up, from $49.99 to 56.99. On calling today, the agent told me that was a promotional discount, when I signed up the agent then specifically told me my payments won't be going up, and now THIS. So does this happen every year it renews ??!!!

After AHS plumbers and installers have been to the house 4 times, we paid a plumber $175. to install a basic dishwasher over one that had many more features. Over9 hours were spent on the phone, often with no results and 1 time to be hung up on. Hers and his plumbing failed miserably in their installation efforts. Very dissatisfied with AHS and subs which put much unneeded stress on an 82 year old woman.

The only star that I can give is one star. As of now, I have waited another 2 hours to contact with them to get answer for getting the amount of pro rata refund amount. They will just direct to sales department and give general service number that is not the right department. Trust me it will just loop forever until the customer is tired and gave up at the end. You will be welcomed when you join at first time and renew, but you can't cancel the policy on your own because they will require you to call endless times. Avoid any cost.

One of the worst businesses I have ever been with. They have not once ever covered anything that I needed covered. I would have been better off just taking the money that I paid them over the past four years and putting it into a savings account. I am now trying to cancel and have been on the phone with them for over 2 hours and keep getting transferred back and forth with no help. I have asked several times to speak to a supervisor and yet I keep being told that there's no supervisor that I can talk to you. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Do not waste your money

Don't waste your money. We had our Hot Water Heater service twice in Nov 2019. The plumber said we needed a new one. This is March 20, 2020 and still no reimbursement/ check for a new one. I have called them several times and am still waiting. Our heater has a small leak so now back to back showers, but one person can shower every morning.; There are 3 living here and one works. Now that the coronavirus is here, I can't go to the YMCA and no one is answering either AHS or the plumber. Right now I just want to cancel our contract and I can't do that.

We have been waiting 3 weeks since our refrig went down. Finally, yesterday the tech determined that it was a compressor and needs to be replaced. Calling and keep getting disconnected from the purchasing dept. Everyone is in a panic about food during this time, try living out of a cooler with 2 kids and 2 adults....not cool!

I have had service with AHS for the past 5 years and the experience has been very frustrating- the contracts they signed with companies are either incompetent or trying to cheat the AHS customers by giving wrong diagnostics- I have read from reviews of most the companies that AHS hired and send to my home have very bad rating and reviews are bad especially if hired by AHS- This company rating by BBB should be revisited and rate accordingly for customers so we can make a educated decision when looking for a Home warranty.

I placed an repair order on February 25th 2020 the vendor came out to look at my washer on Friday February 28th an order was placed for the part (THE PART WAS LOST) . It will be sent out again and will take another week for delivery to the vendor (March 16th, 2020) is the date I was given that the vendor may receive it. What should have only taken a week or two is going to take a month for repair to be completed. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Very awful warranty company. Have been using them for several years now and have been unsatisfied. I have called about dishwasher, stove and heater issues and to this date have not had anything fixed. Once they complete their diagnosis through a vendor I always have to either pay more ($400-500) because it is not covered under the warranty. Warranty covers "wear and tear" or appliance malfunction. It is a waste of money. Don't be fooled by them.

I am almost decided that it's a SCAM. Every time I called them they tell me they will post a new check and it never arrives. I am dealing with them from December 2019. Mine is a Reimbursement issue. My appliance stopped working and they told me that I can buy a new appliance and asked me to submit a receipt and account details. I am still waiting for reimbursement. After I joined them I made three friends of mine joined it now I will complain about this SCAM company wherever I can.

This place is a sorry excuse for a home warranty our water broke the sent 2 plumbing techs from Jnm hpc inc out of which neither of them had any idea what they were doing both stunk like dirty ass they took hours to fix there are 3 parts on a water heater that can be changed so not rocket science. THIS COMPANY DOESN'T EVEN WORTH 1 STAR!!! WORSE COMPANY EVER!!! I fell like I got scammed by them. I requested the service and the AC guy came in the next day. Then they called me and said my claim denied because my contract is to new to claim anything. So, they won't fix anything but took my $100 copay and said if I want to fix it I have to pay $600!!! OR if I need second opinion I will have to pay another $100. WHAT THE POINT TO HAVE AHS!!! I will call my bank and get my money back because I got scammed. They are just going to have excuses to not fix anything!

Bad experience with customer service. They don’t know what service is. Tried to send us an electrician with a a 2.1 rating. To top it off, the ratings on their on website show they are substandard. Not even a 3. No way I will let anyone with a record like this near my house, especially for electrical. What a joke. AHS tried to force them on us. We canceled. Take a look at the company responses here; they only respond to the happy reviews. Unbelievably terrible company.

Worse company ever. Would always give me the run around when I would call. Transfer me and put me on hold multipule etimes, send out the WORST companies with horrible reviews and would refuse to change the company. Wanted me to wait 5 days when my hot water tank went out before someone would come and look at it...not replace it, just look at it. Never again will I ever give them a penny. Cancelled my warranty and even that took an hour with multipule transfers and being put on hold.

I was approved for the cash out option to replace my furnace. Coverage was supposed to be $1500. They said they received my email receipt on Jan 8. A check was to be issued in 7-14 days. After 15 days passed, I have been calling every day. Finally after 27 days, they tell me a check was cut but it will be another 7-14 business days. I’m wondering if this company is phony or something. The whole situation, being on hold prolonged periods of time, not getting email confirmations of phone calls upon request, and most-importantly, no check! So very frustrating!

Bottom line, they will rip you off. I have had nothing but problems getting any decent service from this company. I know, contact us and we would be glad to talk about it. Done that and no,you were not glad to talk about it. Talk is cheap how about living up to your contract and pick contractors who don't try to pad their estimates to cover for the low amount that you pay them. Remember BUYER BEWARE and if it's too good to be true it usually isn't. Don't get caught in this companies web of deceit.

My husband and I are not happy with the customer rep who handled our service call for our water heater. he said our issue was covered by AHS and proceeded to ask for our credit card information to pay the $75.00 copay. When the plumbing tech arrived, he informed us that the issue we were having was not covered by American Home Shield, and we would have to pay $250 for the service. Why would anyone pay a $75.00 copay for something that is not covered? Your agents need to know what is covered and what is not. This extra charging is totally unacceptable.

American Home shield is an absolute rip off. I pay every month and the 2 times that I've needed them in the last year and a half they always for one charge 100 dollars for service requests but then every company they outsource to works from 8-4 monday through Friday so I have to call off work and lose more money. The customer service is always someone from another country whenever I ask for a manager they place me on hold for ages and say there isnt one available.

I moved into my house this month. The plumbing started backing up. Called AHS- they told me it sounded like a stoppage and they covered it. I paid the 75.00 service fee. When the plumber came out he said it was not covered and he could not do it. Had to find another company, pay another service fee and cost through that company. Home Warranty's are a SCAM. I called AHS and no one cares. if I would have called the plumber first, I could have saved 75.00. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS COMPAY.

Paid extra to cover septic tank. Septic tank was not working properly so I contacted American home shield. I was charged $75 and told I need a new compressor when nobody even came to my residence to inspect it. Found someone else and turns out screen was covered w/ grass. American home shield is a horrible company and I highly recommend saving your money.

Terrible Company! I filed a claim for an emergency hot water replacement and was assigned a unprofessional subpar contractor. ASH does not listen and does not "own up" to their mistakes nor rectify them. Will NEVER use them again! Now having to deal with code violations for incorrect installment by ASH vendor. Customer Service is soooo frustrating & just wants to shut me up with $ to resolve the violations.

I gave a positive review about my claim last year but now need to change it. They increased the rate significantly and I called them on time to cancel. They offered me 2 months free to compensate for the increase but kept charging my card. I have spoken to customer representatives Keisha on 09/14/20, Earl on 10/27/2020. Jay on 11/05/2020 who reassured me again that problem would be fixed. But it was never fixed, and they kept charging. They have no address on their website, and 3 different addresses in different forms. Now they keep sending overdue notices. Tired of calling and calling

The only thing this company is good for is charging my debt card each month for its service! Run don’t walk away from this company. Imagine calling AMERICAN home shield and getting Laurence from the Philippians, who can’t speak clear English and could careless if I have a broken AC. If I would have put aside all of that money, I’d be able to cover the thousands of dollars to repair my A/C. Canceling both polices ASAP and never allowing anyone I know to sign on with this company! Horrible service and coverage!

We have used AHS for the past 6 years for our home warranty company and were pleased with the service. Unfortunately, now AHS is using a call center in the Philippines to handle their service call scheduling. It is horrible!!! Those poor people do not know what they are doing and trying to talk to one of the supervisors is impossible. Shame on you AHS for doing this to your customers. We will be looking for another warranty company!

few words, this company is a complete SCAM. we tried it a couple of times in different properties, and there is ALWAYS a loophole. they are out there to give a FALSE sense of protection. Believe me that is all it is!! You IMAGINING that there is someone that you can count on in rough times, its definitely NOT home shield. You are better of making fiends with your hometown small business, friends and neighbors. God Bless ya'll!!!

My dad had called AHS and was talked into purchasing a plan which seemed ok, so when their hot water heater went bad, we called them and punctuality wasn't an issue when my folks water heater went bad, originally he was told the hot water heater was covered , which apparently was, but when the tech came over and took it apart, he told my dad sorry sir, although your hot water heater is covered the part that went bad ISNT COVERED... He apologized packed up his tools and left us high and dry.. BUYER BEWARE READ, COMPARE AND UNDERSTAND ......

I have a valid home warranty. Traveling internationally to come home to a broken furnace and 40 degrees in my home. When I called they opened a claim, but the service agent was too busy to come until the following week. They said unless its an emergency, they would not do a after-hours service. I called AMS and they said unless it was in the 20s its not an emergency. Now it was in the 30s. I called a new service agency and paid out of pocket. I called back to get reimbursed, and they refused. This is a scam!!!!!!!

We have gone 6 days without heat and they keep giving us the run around on the claim. They keep saying they have not seen the paperwork but the technician said he sent it in twice. The temperatures have been in the 20’s with no help help. Wish someone would fix it so we don’t have to use space heaters.

I call November 4th 2019 for my refrigerator. The contractors was no good. Are supposed to reimburse the fee they didn't do it. They lied to me every time I call them. I heard them laughing at me in the background. I wouldn't wish this experience on my enemy. It should be a law against how they handled me. December 11th and the refrigerator still not fixed and must $75 have not been returned . I've been with them for 6 years. Unbelievable but true.
