I have called AHS several times and waited on the phone 3 hours to find out the status of a service call that was done a month prior. I am not happy with their service. You can never get anyone on the phone and that is a big problem for me.

DO NOT BUY FROM AMERICAN HOME SHIELD !!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE ! PHONE LINE IS VERY HARD TO GET TO SPEAK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HAD KITCHEN WATER LEAK AND AMERICAN HOME SHIELD NEVER SEND OUT A LOCAL GUY TO MY HOME !!!! I HAD TO CALL A LOCAL GUY ON MY OWN TO FIRST STOP THE LEAK. customer service sucks!! Have paid numerous years and only used for one small plumbing issue. Trying to get AC fixed and no resolution they say no contractors in our area to fix it but yet they will take your money and when you need them they give you the run around . To me they are just thieves promising service and stealing your money by not providing services when you request them total scam. Will be consulting an attorney.

Terrible company! I have three plans with AHS and will be cancelling all of them. This company lies about replacing home systems and have left me in South Florida for over three months without air conditioning. They keep promising to take care of it and now have let me know they will not cover my system because of corrosion and "neglect"! The system has been maintained yearly and the outside unit is going to corrode, it is Florida!

Air conditioner went on on 7-3-2020, 5 days later they put Freon in it on day 6 it was out again it’s now day 9 no ac no ahs resolution have already shelled out 500 and no fix. Contacting lawyer to get these crooks closed down, the techs they send come in personal vehicles with No parts only Freon what a scam, now my status says waiting for authorization I’m tired of the run around.

I am requesting every one please don't buy their warranty. They are crooks Monsters and complete Ripoff. I am dealing with them right now. I was paying them for last 2 years and first time service call they did not fix or replace my dish washer for 2 months and even after cancelling their service every month they are attempting for monthly charge and i request to chase for credit. stay away from them

Horrible. Wait times are excessive. Can be over an hour. Less than two if you are lucky. I have waited a week to get a service scheduled. AHS says that they don't have a provider in my area, but before they admitted this they gave me the name and number for a company that doesn't seem to be in business. It has now been a week, I have reached out by phone, email and facebook. Cannot get resolution. Call center tells me that everything is just fine and it will be resolved in 24 hours... but it never is.

First of all they do not answer the phone. Secondly, they assign some company that won't be out for nearly a week. My refrigerator is not working, and I need faster service. I have thrown out tons of food. I have tried to call then and all I get is some loud music.

called in a request for service was given a contractor who is 4 hours away in another state. tried calling him without any results. tried to call every number listed was put on hold over 30 minutes without contact. very poor service will be going to another company suggest anyone thinking about this company just try to call customer service

I have never been so disgusted with a company in my life. I found out today that they pay bonuses to companies to write reports that don’t address the actual problem so they can avoid paying for a more substantial repair. We had seven contracts with this company on varying properties and I will happily be cancelling them all. Do NOT waste your time or money.

I suppose when it works, it works; but when it doesn’t, watch out. Had an ice maker repair, 4 weeks later and as many visits, it’s still not resolved and AHS has been ZERO help. When you can get through (average wait thirty minutes) I have asked repeatedly for them to give me a different contractor who can get the job done. Nope. Asked to speak to a supervisor. Nope. Asked a supervisor to call me back. Nope. Asked to get transferred to the cancellation department. Nope. And now begins the undoubtedly uphill climb to cancel. Absolute garbage.

One quick interaction and I will never come back. Needed to cancel a contract - called a special number, waited 40 min, got connected to a person who asked me 50 questions, recited 20 reasons to stay with AHS - and then said he has no authority to cancel my account and that i need to be connected to someone else. Obviously, the next person didn't know anything and started asking me the same questions. In the end, i did cancel, but the time it took was excessive. and this is in 2021 where companies have 'cancel' buttons online. Never again.

Long-time customer - since 2004. Mixed experience with assigned contractors in the past. Just discovered a small plumbing/toilet leak. Tried to request service online and could not open my account on the website with any of 3 browsers I tried (Chrome, Edge and Safari) -- all displayed the spinning circle with no error messages. Tried to call Customer Service -- the message said the wait time was over 1 hr. and that I should go to the web site. Totally unacceptable. Fortunately, my current contract expires in mid August. I will be finding a new home warranty provider!!

I only had AHS since june of 2017 and have never made a claim. In 2019 when I renewed online I accidentally paid the monthly amount in a lump sum which was $80.00 more than the yearly amount. No problem I thought! After being passed from one call center to another and purposely dropped of the line I decided to give up and wait until renewal time and show all my screenshots evidence of long wait times at different AHS call centers to an actual english speaking person. I never recieved a call back! I'm moving on!

After 4 years of broker pool heater - they continue to throw parts at it and STILL NOT WORKING. What a lousy company to deal with.... Time and parts spent trying to fix this thing over the years far out weight the cost of replacing the heater. Do yourself a favor and find another warranty co - they could not care less about us a a customer!

Long time customer but their prices have gone up and their service has gone the opposite direction. It takes hours or sometimes days to get thru to their outsourced customer service. They don’t cover a lot of the expenses. They make it really hard to cancel and want to charge an “admin fee” to cancel. The subcontractors are often shoddy.

Worst customer service. Very unsatisfactory service response. Numerous calls made to schedule service refrigerator repair 45 to 1;00 hour waiting over the phone to get connected to a customer service representative. Expected frame time from contractors appointment set up minimum one week. Contractor scheduled very busy, Contractor came to inspect refrigerator and stated they will report to insurance for repair approval until now three weeks waiting since problem reported with no results. The worst warranty ever with the worst customer service. They never cover what they really say and there’s fine print that says they never gonna cover anything. Needed service on my toilet they sent a contractor who ripped up my vinyl on my floor without permission. Called customer service nobody wants to cover it, now I have a even more expensive problem! And the warranty company is telling me I need to find the contractor that they hired to fix my floor in the contact a company says I need to call the warranty!

This company deserves NO STARS! They refused to pay a claim during an emergency repair because they did not give prior authorization. Hot water heater was leaking all over the place. We only have one repair company in our area who would have been the one they would have sent out anyway. When trying to contact them (twice) I was on hold for 33 minutes before hanging up then again for even longer! How are you supposed to get prior authorization IF THEY WON'T ANSWER THEIR PHONE???? Don't waste you money. This company has TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Terrible service and long waits on phone! AMERICAN HOME SHIELD sends out poor rated companies that they have contracts with. We called to make a Complaint and was told a supervisor would be in touch with us in 48 hours of our call! It has been 2 weeks and still waiting! The company AMERICAN HOME SHIELD sent out to fix A/C ended up doing such damage to our A/C that it can not be fixed! We have pictures to prove it! Do not waste your money on AMERICAN HOME SHIELD! PLUS THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO CHARGE A CANCELLATION FEE!

Horrible company!! They do not care about their customers. Be ready to wait hours to get any customer service person to help you. Be ready to wait days and weeks to have a company they contract with to come look at the problem, only to not resolve it. We ended up having to go through outside authorization, followed all of AHS rules that they told us only to say they were denying it due to cost. So I've paid over $1,600 this year to have AHS cover 2 properties i own to now have to pay $2000 for something they say they will cover. worthless company with no values. Cancelled both contracts.

Hours waiting just to talk to someone - this after a service provider was a no show ... with no call. Rescheduled and did not show up again. No call back and not answering my calls now. And AHS wants me to give another chance - delay repairs further even though they confirmed the provider also hung up on them. Still no resolution ... but they have my money. And I still can’t get anyone on the phone unless I wait an hour on hold.

I filed (and paid for) a claim in October of 2019 when I purchased my home. Its is now June 2020 and my stove and refrigerator still don't work properly. The original contractor came out and said that the refrigerator needed to be fixed and the stove replaced. AHS tried to dispatch another contractor a few days later for a second opinion because they THINK BLACK BUSINESSES ARE INCOMPETENT. AHS hasn't done anything but give me the run-around for 10 months. These "parts" have been in the mail for 10 months. AHS is HORRIBLE! Don't do business with them. Spend your money elsewhere. ..

I hate holding on the phone for an average of an hour just to get a customer service person who doesn't understand my english. I hate how they hang up on you if they do not agree with your experience. I hate having to put refrigerant in my HVAV unit every year because they put stop leak into the unit for the last five years and will not replace the unit. I havepaid $1500 in th last 4 years on refrigerant doe my HVAC unit because AHS will only pay $10 per pound! This is the worse company ever!! DO NOT BUY THIS SERVICE!!!HORRIBLE!!!

I Paid and requested service for our a/c repair 72 hours ago on line. I called American Home to let them no that No technician has called---I was on hold 2 &1/2 hours and still no answer. I have been a paying customer for 8 years but this is Horrible Service. It has been 105, 107, today 109 degrees I have small children. Up till this time I have always received excellent service but I believe I will be removing all 3 separate policies

Refrigerator has water dripping pan problem( water stays and spills out of the pan) and technician told me I need to dump that water out manually!!! WTH?? Never had to do with the fridge my whole life and the problem happened recently. They sent me a guy who is not a fridge technician. Scam!! Tried to call the customer service but put me on hold forever! I want to cancel the entire service plus refund!!! ASAP!

Poor service. If you happen to have a service provider that doesn't follow up or is discourteous, it's impossible to get another company sent out unless you pay another $75.00 fee. If you try to call the company, you are put on indefinite hold for hours. We have been trying to call them over the past two days and have been put on hold a total of six hours and after the end of each time, they eventually hang up on us. We are just going to cancel the coverage - so frustrating - and I don't think it's because of COVID-19 issues.

I've been waiting for more than two weeks for the plumber to complete a job he initiated with my kitchen faucet. I've been calling since then and they keep telling me the part has not arrived. Second, I paid another $75.00 a week ago for another issue with my air conditioning. The same thing happened once again. The technician came here said he would send someone else the next day to complete the job and it's been already five days. No one has called and every time i call the company i get the same answer over and over again. Terrible service!!! i do not recommended this company at all!!!!!!

They send a service man out when requested for an additional service fee on top of your yearly cost. Once the service man states that the appliance needs to be replaced, its over! The company never follows through, answers your call or gives you a new appliance. We have been waiting 45 days " waiting on authorization" to have our new washing machine. HORRIBLE Customer Service!!!!

I finally came to my senses and decided to cancel my contract. This company is awful. Two weeks after my refrigerator dies and I contact them I’ve had two visits and it still hasn’t been repaired. Their contractors are the worst/cheapest in the area and AHS customer service is the absolute worst. No chat or email contact method. Only phone where they hope you’ll hang up after sitting on hold for a ridiculous amount of time. Like the many others that have posted, you’re far better off not wasting your money with them. Avoiding aggravations will be a mental/emotional victory.

Bad customer service , I cancelled a gas dryer repair that I had scheduled , I received a bill for $100 from AHS which they said I was late paying , I didn't receive no service so why do i owe them anything . I have been trying to reach somebody at AHS to no avail. They do not have a chat line either , if you get through they'll put you on hold and no one answers. Very poor service , no referrals from me J.Banuelos

You are better off putting the money this company wants you to pay annually into a savings account and using for home repairs. They will not send quality workers and they have a clause to get out of covering every item. When you spend hours arguing with them to get a covered item replace; only to find the replaced equipment quality is severely lower than what you had!! If you do use them, do not pay the service fee up front, wait until the service is done!!!! I am pretty sure CA has laws that this company is breaking and the AG's office should really look into their practices.

Each time I have made a claim with AHS my claims have been taken care of within 48 hours. AHS is very professional and worth every penny.

i had a water heater problem and was told I needed to replace it. American home shield offerred a buy out of $450. It has been four months and numerious phone calls and have not received payment. They constantly give me excuses like they need a mailing address, tgen they needed a receipt, two times they told me the check was in the mail, not they tell me the mailing address was incorrect again. They are liars
