My bathtub faucet has been inoperable for over a month. AHS has required that we give another week for parts from China to arrive. That's way too long just for them to save a few dollars on a new faucet. However, the air conditioning claim was started and finished in one day, so that claim gets an A+.

AHS offers a dreadful product. When my covered refrigerator broke, they sent a repairman to fix it. It broke a second time and then a third. After the third breakdown, they have simply stopped responding to my requests for a repair. I’ve called them 5 times over 4 weeks to get this resolved. Each time, I’ve been told that they’re working on it, that it’s been escalated and someone will call me back with a solution or new contractor. I’ve yet to receive a return call or resolution. I’d strongly discourage anyone from buying their products.

I have been with American Home Shield for 5 years. I called today to get a better plan and rate. I was put on hold numerous times for a total of an hour and a half. There are much better rates much they are only available to new customers. We are expected to pay more each year for remaining loyal. When i called back the next day to start this process again of reaching some one to help me a man on the Sales Team was extremely rude to me. Being a loyal customer means nothing to this company.

I was given the run around on something that was improperly installed/modified. I spoke with someone named Jenn who has supervisor authority and we both read the same thing and understood the same thing and they still didn't approve my claim. She urged me to take legal action. I don't want to do that but I guess it must be done even though I'm so busy. Wouldn't recommend to anybody.

This is not a good company. I'm a new homeowner and they charged me twice for my home warranty. That second charge cleared out my account and left me with no money and their only response has been that it'll take 3 to 5 business days to get refunded. So now I'm left with nothing for up to a week! They have not offered any way to compensate me or try to resolve my problem while I wait for the refund even though this is a problem they caused. If you're considering this company for a home warranty you should look elsewhere they don't care about their clients.

American Home Shield sent out equally incompetent Crown Home Services to our home. The handle on our kitchen sink fixture was popping off. They tightened the screw and called it good. However 32 days after their visit, it popped off again. Of course, it was outside of the “call back period”. I called the contractor to give them the opportunity to correct the issue and stand by their work, but they refused, stating they need another work order (translation $100). Crown Home Services and “American” — should be called “Indian” Home Shield, are a waste of time and money.

American home shield is a total scam. I’ve sent them receipts in January and have yet to receive a check and every time I call all I’m told is I’m sorry sir there’s nothing we can do. I’ve been without a refrigerator for over a month and again all they say is I’m sorry so there’s nothing we can do. But if you open another report and pay us again we will gladly send someone to fix your refrigerator. Total scam of a company. Please please please go find another company to use this one is horrible

I have had nothing but trouble trying to get my front loader washing and dryer repaired . Over a month just to get 2 companies out to look at my appliances. The wash parts were going to take 15 weeks to get. So we cashed out to buy a new one . And the email and said they are ordering parts. The dryer the company that is going to repair lied and said they already repaired it. Oh my worst service I have ever experienced. I have been ahs for years I cant believe how bad their service has gotten. Im praying I can get my appliances taken care of before I just give up!

I would say negative stars. On the most recent claim that I filed, it took months to get the reimbursement and it was because they kept sending the check to an address I lived at over 5 years ago. On each phone call, I did verify the mailing address, but somehow, they couldn't get it together. I did reach out and email the CEO and an assistant did make contact with me and resolve the issue. The delay put me in a financial hardship and I wouldn't recommend them.

Worst experience ever. They have so many loopholes in their contract, they don’t have to pay for any repairs. They said my drainpipe leak was caused by an act of God so they didn’t cover it. How am I supposed to prove that God didn’t come down from heaven and break my drainpipe? I had to pay their plumber $285 on top of the $100 service call fee, and the pipe is still leaking. The contract says I can cancel at any time, but I had to pay $41.66 “administrative fee” to do so. Run, don’t walk, away from these scammers.

I have had American Home Shield for over 30 years. Their customer service has declined. It is difficult to get service providers and when you do they wait and wait for approval from American Home Shield. It takes 2 weeks to get a washer repaired, 4 weeks to get an AC repaired. After over 30 years I call to cancel my service and they are charging me a month's payment for cancelling. I will NEVER go back to them after the horrible experience I have had in the last year with them.

Absolutely the worst customer service from their call center and the contractors are terrible. Save yourself the frustration and look into another company. Both times I’ve requested service from them it has been an absolute nightmare. The first time I ended up paying out of pocket because they sent two different repair companies each with different diagnosis and never fixed my air conditioner. If you call their 800 number expect to spend at least 45 minutes on hold and/or listening to their call center agents scripted responses and at the end of the wasted time expect no desolation.

I have been trying to get a cooktop repaired for over 4 months. There is only one way to contact them and that is by phone. There is usually a 30 minute or more wait to talk to a person in another country. Everytime I call, a different person answers who has no idea of the 4 month history of my issue and I have to start from square one. I get a different answer each time I call and no one has the same story. They always say they will call me right back with an answer but that has not happened yet in the 28 times I have called them. Still waiting. Still no stove. Poor customer service.

First of all they don’t answer phone. They send technicians that don’t know what they are doing. Try to swap parts until it works. Swapped parts three times still not working. They should have replaced until by the second visit. Save your money and time do not do business with this company. Between monthly fee and service call fee I could have just purchased a new washing machine.

I just saw 2 charges on my bank acct from you. I never used you, called you or signed up for you... I got an email today saying to activate my acct by verifying email so I did and it created a login ...then I see an acct has been active since Nov without my consent...how did u get payment info? I see a contract and all kinds of stuff linked to my email that I never consented to. How sus u get my info? This is personal info. I want this cancelled as it's at 30 days or 2nd billing just charged. I want full refund of 67.48 immediately.

I had the worst experience with this company. I made in full to havey washer fixed. He said it was the magnet and he would come back the next day with the part and fix my washer. It took me 4 days to get in contact with him and he wouldñt answer my calls. Finally he came back and changed the part and it didn't fix the washer. I was charged 257.00 and now the company told me there's nothing they can do since I paid. I feel like I've been robed. It's a horrible experience and I'm going to have to file charges

Was told countless times that a supervisor would call back within 30 min. Have never received one call back. Contractors they work with are shady and unreliable. Cannot wait for our contract to end.

Absolute garbage. They told us that they were covering the cost of repair on our boiler back in May. Every time we call them, they said they were just waiting on the parts & as soon as they come in, they'll set up a time to have it repaired. Fast forward to almost October, we're freezing. My husband calls them & NOW they are telling us that they are not covering it & we need to pay out of pocket. That would have been nice to know months ago & we could have started saving. So now we're stuck at our home being 60 degrees while we save up the money to fix out heat. Thanks a lot !

Bought a home with a broken ac and heater unit. After 4 months and 3 different companies provided by American home shield we didn't have it fixed in the middle of summer.....we called a real ac company and they fixed it within 2 hours out of our pocket cost. The heater is missing parts and American home shield voided the warranty because parts are missing and they only fix existing parts. This company is the worst company I have ever done business with.

It’s like pulling teeth to get any kind of compensation from this company. They never fixed or payed a dime for any problems we had with all of our appliances. Called in July 5 2021. Ac went out. I live in Az. yes some days are 115 degrees. it is September 3 and still have no ac! Very very poor customer service! Can't talk to anyone in the states. Get the same BS every time I call! Did i mention it gets 115 degrees! Calls some times last an hour just get the same reply. I will send a text message or I will email them! Very bad customer service. All overseas and it takes months to fix a problem. My AC broke down in May 2021 and I placed a service call. It is taking until mid August and it is still not fixed yet. I called the provider and they informed me that they are waiting for the AHS decision and it will most likely will be denied. I paid about $7,000 and waiting for the repair. Awful situation!

AHS IS A SCAM.. JUST STAY AWAY!! American Home Shield has one of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I honestly don't know how they've so much rating on the BestCompany site. It took 7 phone calls and 3 weeks to speak with someone in the escalation department. Their agents have no clue on their company policy and practice, each one of them will give a different answer. It's better not to have a home warranty than to be with American Home Shield.

We received an American Home Shield policy with the purchase of our new home. During the move in process, the compressor on our main floor unit went out. I attempted to reach out to customer service but was number 67 in line in the queue. This was last month (June 2021) and in Alabama. Temps were in the high 80's. I elected to hire a firm to come in and replace the compressor the next day for a very reasonable price. I reached out to American Home Shield to see if any type of reimbursement would be available and they wouldn't even discuss the matter with me. Very disappointing.

Had AHS for close to a year. First service call was to fix a dishwasher.... after 2 months of no fix (provider disappeared and AHS did not want to get another one) I decided to cancel my AHS warranty and requested a refund for not meeting the contract. Not only did they decline, but they kept charging me after cancellation. Get ready for hours on end on the phone with them. All the positive reviews out there are websites created by them. Huge scam

In 2019 I purchased a house and the seller provided an American Home Shield home warranty. The first year the warranty worked well, replacing a heater control board, a washing machine, and a combo oven after I paid the service fee each incident. This year, 2021, my a/c started acting up, freezing up, loss of refrigerant, and faulty control board. After paying for 6 months the a/c is not covered because it exceeds the 5 ton limit. After the administrative cancellation fee was applied I still owe them $4 and change. BUYER BEWARE.

My last incident for my AC was painful. I had to do all the work in getting the part. I was without AC from June 8-June 30. The contractor could have gotten the part within a day but had to wait for American Home Shield to provide the part which took weeks. In addition all cost were not covered. I had to pay an additional $650 for the contractor to "modify" for the new part which I feel should have been covered by my insurance. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and I'm very disappointed in the recent service I received.

I'm sorry I had to give this company a star I could not write a review take this for what it's worth is a warning if you deal with American Home Shield is someone they sent out destroys your house as they did mines you will be the one having to pay the cost one of their reps in my house and did over $8,000 worth of damage can I have to pay for it destroyed my kitchen had to live in a hotel so if you American Home Shield and one of that people destroy your home they will not cover it

The WORST customer service EVER. Our refrigerator broke and they told me we have to go TWO WEEKS without a fridge to order a part. I asked to speak to a manager, but there isn't one. What? I asked for them to expedite to part so my family can have food to eat, and they said, nope we don't do that. This is unethical, and every time I call I get someone in another country reading from a script, that won't escalate. They are trained to tell you no. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM!

Switching companies due to false advertising and price gouge after they could not fix the initial problem. Their technicians came in and quoted me a price for a part to fix my air conditioner. I called for service request for my home air condition. Contractor came to house and followed up after 5 days when I was experiencing the same problem. Contractor has submitted his report to American Home Shield, and they have not contacted me for more than 72 hours. Anytime I call them they tell me the contractor's report is under review. We have been in our house without A/C for more than 1 week.

This is the worse experience I've ever had. I tried to cancel my policy after I sold my home and two years later it's still active. I know they knew I moved because they had my new home and phone number. Rather than me being able to call in directly to speak to cancellations, I had to call and sit on hold for one and a half hours just to be told the department was closed. This has flat-out been the most frustrating company to deal with. WAIST OF MONEY AND TIME!

Do yourself a favor and never go with this company. Their customer service is terrible. They forward you to the wrong departments all the time and no one ever gives you a call back. I've been on the phone for 2+ hours now waiting to be "transferred" to a department that probably doesn't even exist. They claim to have sent me an email with regards to my cash out option 4 days ago and I haven't received shit.

They charge your deductible EVEN when the repair is not completed or the contractor requests a ridiculous amount to repair it even if a non affiliated contractor will charge you far less. There is a $64 cancellation fee if you want to cancel your contract. They have changed recently and if you try to cancel the contract or dispute a charge or high price to repair and they will just keep you on hold for hours.

They hire contractors that mostly have 1-star yelp reviews.. because those contractors are not able to fix anything.. I am on month 9 since my dishwasher broke. Spend hours on the phone, my case was "referred to contractor relationship unit", "expedited", "referred to supervisor". They promise to call you back and NEVER do. I still do not have a working dishwasher.

SCAM! Stay away at all costs, this is the biggest scam company ever. They send out terrible 3rd party companies who get paid the bare minimum to barley fix the issue. It took 4 weeks to get my washer fixed and then when I canceled my policy they CHARGE you!!! Even though you don't sign a contract and when you agree to the month to month you will get a $75 dollar fee once you cancel. This company is the WORSE STAY AWAY! Seriously.

Terrible experience. Had 2 appliances with minor issues. They were unable to fix either for 4 months after sending several technicians. I have been trying to cancel their service for 2 months but they do not let you cancel by keeping on transferring you with the sole goal of keeping the monthly charge going. I have filed multiple complaints with the company with the hope of stopping them from charging my credit card.

This is the worst company I ever used for Home Warranty. they keep you on hold forever, and sometimes after you wait for too long they hang up on you. Claim processing is very slow and they try to make up all excuses not to cover your claim , it takes them weeks for their technicians to look at the problem or to fix it. two times they charged for the claim and the technician did not fix the problem and still charged me for the service fee. What can I say HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

I have 5 contracts with this company. One for my primary residence and others are for some rentals. The experience with them is the WORST. They hire incompetent contractors who's only reason for signing up to be a contractor for AHS is because they are not good enough to get their own customers. I have had 3 incidents with them and do not recommend them. I plan to cancel my contracts with them and do not recommend them.

My Air conditioning did not cool tech came out told me it is gone Needs Freon not covered my cost 1200.00 other parts not covered. Total cost to me 2150.00. Plus service call did offer to sell me a new one for 8.000. Why have a warranty for big ticket items when they don't want to cover it. Called customer service said they would get with the company and call me back. Still waiting. I don't expect I will hear back. All I can say is buyer beware

Overseas operation...Can barely understand a word they're speaking, argumentative,'double speak'....Price is muchmuch higher than listed-$125.for svc-$66mo.-piss poor Svc,long wait for Svc. W/ this co. since 2016-got sick of them. Tried to 'rope' me in further when giving notice of ending contract. Anyone trying to tell you AmericanHomeShield is a great co. is telling you a lie! Wouldn't have even given them them one star but the review couldn't be submitted otherwise! Don't waste your money!

I have been a customer for many years, and the AHS experience gets worse every year. During the past year, I have been on hold literally for hours waiting to speak with an agent. Clearly it is a foreign call center - for many agents, obviously English is not their native language. And unfortunately, the quality of the contractors has deteriorated to the point that it is no longer worth the hassle. This is the year that I cancel. For good.
