I recently had a couple of claims that have left my home with services unfinished and have not received the service I had hoped from this company that I'm paying over $1K a year. They state completed on my dashboard but I haven't gotten the problem fixed at home, and I'm constantly having to reach out to AHS to figure out what the next moves are.

I did not have hot water in my house for 4 months as the company would never return a call or provide any support for a contractor that would not complete work. I made over 30 calls and never was able to speak to a supervisor or had the problem resolved. I ended up paying over $3000 dollars. The reassigned provider did a great job but it was denied by AHS as saying it was electronic. They provider stated many times that is was in no way electronic.

They did a poor job of dealing with my need to replace my water heater on a Friday when their vendor wasn’t available until Monday. We are seniors with kids in the house and having no hot water during the winter when night temps were hitting 32 degrees wasn’t an option. I used a licensed plumber and had the bills for AHS to review and they refused. I am a public adjuster working in prop claims over 40years and I find this type of customer service appalling.

No coverage for Hot Water Heater for a 23 year customer on GOLD plan. Here is what the AHS Warranty claims to cover: 3. WATER HEATER (Gas, Electric, or Oil) COVERED: All components and parts, including circulating pumps, except: NOT COVERED: Solar water heaters - Solar components – Ancillary holding or storage storage tanks - Noise - Fuel storage tank and energy conservation unit - Flues and vents – Thermal expansion tanks – Instant hot water dispenser. They said that it would cost $2,300 to replace heater & parts.

I am 67 and have been without heat since February 22. American Home Shield assigned my repair to a company with a dismal rating. Par for the course. I have no idea today March 19 IF or WHEN my furnace will be functioning again. It has been 40° INSIDE with snow outside. The furnace is my ONLY source of heat. I have been told more lies since February than I have been told in the rest of my 67 years. LIES! LIES! LIES!

Have recieved three visits and have not fixed my washing machine. Then we got a call from American Home Shieldsaying that the technician said it was broken from water line and that Home Shield would not cover. We had to explain that it was not the water line. But a piece in the washer that is broken and American Shield should cover. Technician also advised that we would need to remove the top washer in order for him to work the bottom pedestal. We had to explain to American Home Shield that only a technician can remove the top washer. We are not technicians.

Issues with initial work order where fan should have been covered. Even showed per contract where it would be covered and still denied claim with nobody for recourse. Vendor damaged my property and then told lies to cover it up. Initial plumbing issue the assigned contractor was out over 2 weeks for service when I had water I could not turn off. AHS had no option for me. Now I'm in another plumbing situation where AHS sends out notices that the claim is closed and it is not. I'm still waiting for Plumbing Inc to source a cold water stem and if not located see what options exist.

I put in a service request a month ago and I’m still waiting on the contractor to submit the report. Every time I speak with costumer service I’m told they will contact them to submit the report and to call again in 48 hours. After doing this 4 time I asked to escalate things and the costumer service representative completely disregarded me and said he will call the contractor to submit the report and call again in 24 hours. The costumer service representative did not answer my questions. He kept repeating the same script instead of answering me.

There is never all back. If you don’t keep on them they assume it has been resolved. When they make mistakes they never give you a refund on a service call.fee. Instead of sending out the same technician. They send a new one with an additional fee. Language barriers exist with their foreign call center. You ask for a corp number and the same response is given, that it’s been escalated. You never get a response.

Dislike that I pay a monthly fee then each time I have a problem with the same appliance they charge $125. So on my dishwasher I paid over $500 plus a monthly fee. So total over $800 for just one appliance to get fixed for the same problem. And they had three different repair companies to service the dishwasher. So no I’m not very happy.

I wanna know how to cancel American Home Shield. If I could give it zero stars I would waste of money and time. Because they are a scam they let you pay just to tell you they don’t cover the issue. How is the refrigerator covered but not the compressor. Been waiting 2 years for a microwave to get fixed for them to say the first 2 companies they sent out shoulda caught the problem. They are all in it together to get your money.

Cancelled policy after 5 years due to frustration over trying to get a change of providers. Kept asking to speak to a supervisor during multiple calls, only to be told it wasn't possible. Provider told AHS twice that my job had been completed, but it had not. Even after being lied to, AHS would not give me a different provider. I gave up trying to get AHS to take care of my problem and thought it was better to pay full price for the repair rather than deal with them for one more second.

Does have coverage for a lot of items in the house. Terrible customer service. Won't take responsibility for selecting bad contractors who broke other things in my house during a repair. Wouldn't reassign my claim either. Fought for over a month for them to hold their selected contractor responsible, but instead took the contractor's side. Wouldn't even waive the service fee to have someone come fix the issue.

Toilet leaking and was repaired one year ago, now having same problem again because of cheap materials used to fix the first time. I had to call someone else to fix it this time.
