Appliance Benefits

In addition to its plans and add-on coverage options, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty offers unique appliance benefits:

  • Appliance Color Matching — If you are getting an appliance replaced, 2-10 HBW offers to match the existing appliance's color. While always preferable, most warranty companies do NOT cover any cost of matching.
  • Appliance Replacement Offer — If a covered appliance fails, you can either choose to proceed with the normal claims process or accept a $100 reimbursement for purchasing a replacement appliance of your choice.
  • Appliance Discount Program — If you need to replace an appliance, 2-10 HBW offers a 65% discount on GE and Whirlpool appliance retail prices.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If you cancel before the effective date, a full refund will be issued. After that, fees will be deducted from your refund. While this gives you the freedom to cancel during the 30-day waiting period before your warranty coverage starts, a full refund is not available once it starts.

The following restrictions may apply:

  • If you cancel up to 10 days after the effective date, you are eligible for a refund, but are responsible to pay a $25 processing fee and any amount that the provider paid for service.
  • If you cancel more than 10 days after the effective date, you will receive a pro-rata refund for the remaining unused portion of the contract, less any amounts that the company paid for service and the $25 processing fee.

24/7 Claim Submission

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty provides 24/7 service to its customers. Homeowners may submit a service request 24/7 through their online portal or over the phone.

A service contractor will be dispatched to schedule a time, Monday through Friday during normal business hours, to diagnose and repair the eligible system or appliance.

Exclusive “Even-If” Service Fee Guarantee

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty customers benefit from a unique service fee guarantee. This guarantee includes the following benefits:

  • If you paid a service call fee, but your item was not eligible for coverage, you can request reimbursement.
  • If a covered part is serviced and fails again within the term of the Home Warranty Service Agreement, another Service Fee will not be due.

Contractor Options

Some home warranty companies prevent customers from calling the approved contractors directly. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty allows its customers to contact the contractors directly to expedite the process. If you are looking for a quicker turnaround time, this is a nice feature to have.

Your chosen service contractor must be licensed and insured. He or she must also contact 2-10 HBW with a detailed diagnosis and estimate to see if it's covered and to get an authorization number.

If an in-network pro is not available, it's one thing, but if you simply choose to get your own repair, 2-10 will only cover "an amount equivalent to what [2-10] would have paid for parts and labor for a contracted provider to complete the needed service."

Real Estate Warranty Plan Packages

If you are buying or selling a home, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty offers distinct service contracts for home buyers and sellers, which must be purchased through a real estate professional:

  • Seller Coverage — 2-10 HBW offers free seller coverage for appliances, heating, plumbing, and electrical systems. Free coverage is not available where prohibited by law, including the state of Florida. Complimentary seller policies don't cover air conditioning or heat pumps, but coverage can be added for $50–$60.
  • Buyer Coverage — Same as seller coverage, with the basics, but it also includes the Happy Home Lock & Hardware program, which provides reimbursement up to $100 to install new locks or rekeying within 45 days after closing. No service fee is charged.
  • 3-Year New Home Warranty Plans — Appliance and home system repair service contracts to buyers of brand new houses. As with other real estate contracts, new construction home warranties must be purchased through a partnering real estate agency.

What does the claims process look like?

When a covered item breaks down from normal wear and tear, simply log in to your online Homeowner Portal account — available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — to request service. They've been pleasant to deal with when I've dealt with them. The people that have come out have been good. Our hot water tank broke and it was leaking and we needed one immediately. And they couldn't seem to figure out how to get one to where we live, and they couldn't figure out how to get it to the store and then for the the installer to pick it up. I mean the whole thing was just very incompetent and it was something that was urgent and needed to be replaced immediately. So that was a very negative experience and otherwise just repairs that we've had done over the years have worked out great.

You guys are very responsive even when my first vendor did not respond in a timely manner. And so I really appreciated the feedback, the follow up that was very important to me. My air conditioning was out and the first company H2HVAC was horrible. They were not timely, they did not communicate. When they did communicate, they communicated very very late. It was just a bad experience with them. However, you guys sent out another company with Lenari air conditioning company and they were fantastic. I cannot speak more highly of Joe, who is the HVAC person. He was incredible, very knowledgeable. Spent time with me to explain the situation. Walked me through the protocols of proactive protection, very impressive. I do wish you guys were open on the weekend Saturdays and Sundays. That would be helpful for not only myself, but I'm sure other clients. And it's a little pricey.

There's a very long wait time when I call. I had to use my warranty for the garbage disposal and when they replaced it, the company didn't install it completely correctly and it actually affected my dishwasher. So then I had to report my dishwasher. They came and told me that the garbage disposal was not installed correctly and then I had to not use my dishwasher for another couple of weeks and then they had to come back and refix whatever it was.

I filed a claim because my HVAC unit went out. The online portal was pretty easy to maneuver, pretty easy to use, but it had its deficiencies when it came to getting a steady, consistent status report status update mainly because the authorized technician or contractor that 2-10 had used in my case just wasn't doing their part and I don't think 2-10 was pressuring them to do their job on my behalf. The claim took over two months. So last week the issue was resolved but it took a lot longer than me and my family expected.

I had a situation and it was after hours and I didn't get a call back, but the next day when I called again, they did get what I needed. I would like to say that when I had this issue and I put in the claim online, the customer service was great. The operator, or whomever she was, walked me through what I needed to do. And I kid you not, after completing that claim, in less than 10 minutes, a plumber was calling me. So I was very pleased with that.

Customer service has declined in the last 3 years I have been with this company. When things like your a/c goes out, it takes a very long time for someone to come out to repair it. Sometimes repair men keep coming back over and over for the exact same repair instead of actually fixing the issue, they patch it up. Other than that, this company is ok.

Once I could get through to someone on the phone, we get some resolution taken care of. We had found through the water company that we had a leak in the house and it was because three of the toilets were having leak problems through the toilets because they were original toilets, the plumber had to replace them. And what happened was the plumber actually took the toilets apart before he found out that he couldn't repair them and he was supposed to be ordering new toilets and he claimed the excuse was that he was waiting for 2-10 Warranty, but we ended up being out without 2 toilets in the house for four days and that was actually over a weekend. The plumber ghosted us for days. We ended up doing was reporting that the plumber disappeared on us and to add insult to injury, he reaches out to us a week later and says I'm ready to come to replace the toilets now.

2-10 Warranty is good, but the companies that they choose to fix our home stuff, they're on a lower scale. They need to pick more qualified companies to do our repairs, but other than that, they're pretty good. They're better than most companies and I think they're one of the best ones we have in the country.

When it came time to replace a hot water heater and the appliance tech came to my house, I discovered the $ amount of coverage was less than my out of pocket charge. I looked at a local appliance store, and called a handyman for total cost, and saved myself 40% over what I would have paid. I dropped their coverage because it wasn't a good value for the price.

Going without air conditioning for an extended period of time does not make a lot of sense to me. It is hot here in Florida. The last time that I needed to use my warranty was a couple of months ago and we got it approved, but then the part was not quality. The quality of service was excellent. I was just really disappointed that they weren't supportive when it came to replacing the air conditioning.

The refrigerator is not freezing and it's been frosted up and they've come out three times, put in new parts 2 times and it still is not working. This has been going on for about six weeks. Every time they come out and they say they have to get parts, it takes 2 weeks to get the parts, even though the parts are available in town at any store, they have to buy them from a 2-10 source and it causes a big delay.

I have faucets on the outside of my house that are leaking. They've lost their plumber service here in Warner Robins and they have not been able to convince them to to rejoin, and so there's no plumber So I've had to try to find somebody on my own, get approval. It's just been a mess. And now my siding's got to be removed in order for them to get to the faucets. I'm I'm just sick of the whole thing. I've talked to several people and they've tried to resolve my problem, but they only have limited control.

In general we feel like it's saved us money which is always good, and the customer support people have been pleasant and kind. But also the couple of times we've had a question or an issue, it's not usually been something that the first person we talked to was able to address. One time I had to call 3 different departments to finally get an answer and that's just a little frustrating. We had a brand new refrigerator when we came and it had lots of problems and you know, 2-10 had somebody come out multiple times and eventually the whole thing had to be replaced and they walked us through all of that, which was was good and helpful. The only downside is that you don't get to pick which service provider is coming out, they assign one to you and so we have had some varying levels of success with different providers.

Everything is online. I don't have the satisfaction of the interpersonal connection with another human being. The vendors that are chosen or that are assigned the jobs are not proactively communicative, at least to the degree I would like. In the last 30 days I had a refrigerator that broke down and the gentleman came out to assess it and said that it would require $500 of parts and labor to fix it. And then I got contacted by 2-10 saying that they would give me a a settlement offer of $400 but they weren't actually going to fix the refrigerator. So that's what happened and that left me less than satisfied.

When getting repair with heater technician here with me for 2 hours waiting to get ahold of someone at 2-10. He had to leave tried to write all that was wrong. While on the road finally 45 min later I was on the phone with rep and she gave me a number but apparently this was not the right number the team needed sent paperwork online from outsourced company . I didn’t feel that 2-10 would work with me “ we are repair not replace company. So $16000 later got no followup. When went to check no mention of claim. I had to replace due to husband in hospital and I would need heat and all the banging from heater was scary. My husband has since past .

The phone representatives are awesome. However, there is a lack of communication and no attention to detail when it comes to ordering parts quickly and efficiently. We have had no Air Conditioning for a week now and I cannot get an update on the status of the parts. Furthermore, there is a contractor that I officially complained about (Lloyd's/Whitewater) and was told I would get a call from the department that deals with contractors and have not gotten any contact about it. Our current contractor, Southeast Air is doing a great job but they cannot finish because no urgency is being put on getting the part and we are living in a house with NO AIR Conditioning where it is 85 degrees with a 100 degree heat index outside. This is completely unacceptable yet the right hand does not seem to know what the left hand is doing to get this resolved.

Anytime you call customer support takes 60 minutes waiting before you have to speak to a person. The message tells you over and over again to address your concerns online on the website but you can't address almost anything if I put in a work request online. Every time I've called in the last six months because I've dealt with them constantly on a weekly basis it's one of the people it hangs up on me. They never called me back which is not really understandable considering they have my phone number up on the screen because they confirm it so I never know why people lose connection with you and never bothered to call you back. I also dealt with several people recently who had no idea what they were doing. It used to be better.

The customer support is good but the problem is you're on the phone for over thirty to forty minutes. I have to use it on the air pressure switch for the treaded bathtub base. Sent over some repairmen who were not qualified to fix it then they sent over the electrician, he could only do part of it. I had to get him to write something on his invoice that he couldn't finish it. I went back 2-10 warranty so they could send somebody out who's, capable. Their website or so they're drop-down menus is terrible it really doesn't have what you need and increases a lot of problems because you write comments, I don't think you would ever read the comments.

Right now I need them to look at my refrigerator. I had put a claim in December and its still not fixed. The first claim that I put in a refrigerator the guy came in and he looked at it and say I need a part but I never heard from them again. I never heard back from the mechanic supposed to fix to my refrigerator. The second time I called them they stated that it was too far to come all the way out here. Third time a technician came out he said that it was he fix it but it's not fix. So still sitting here with unfixed refrigerator. The staff for customer support are very professional and they take care of your needs.

The service companies are great. The service provided by their national support organization not so much. I just recently called them about my washing machine I got back up I got back on the email from them saying that I was scheduled for I can't remember the precise date of Friday sometime between 8 of hours, hours of 8 and 5 which I thought a little bit of a stretch but you know I figured well pandemic maybe that's the best I can do so I'll let it ride well I mean you know nobody showed up probably about 3 o'clock after trying to reach the national organization of getting too long hold times finally I noticed that I had so the company that was doing the servicing so I called them and they said we're sorry we don't have you on our schedule for Friday you're on our schedule for Tuesday and we would never issued an 8 to 5 call out time. We will we will call you on Monday and give you either 8 or 5, 10 to 2 or 1 to 5. So you know the national organization was providing answers for the for local service people that has no connection to reality and you know if it wasn't if it wasn't for the fact that I uh white Kelly easily so much I probably would have already canceled my warranty but I like the local reference she she got it handled but you know it's typical of what I have encountered every time I've ever had to call 2-10. The Warranty Repair national people were disconnected from reality and I end up having to make multiple calls and get people involved locally and then I get it straight.

Other companies provide up to 23 feet from the home provided and they're half price of 2-10. As a costumer at 2-10 warranty it would be nice to if we had choices of the contractor that was coming to our home. I've had contractors in my house that are not knowledgeable enough to fix items that I'm still getting charged for so yeah I would just like better more choices for the consumer. I've have had to use my warranty for my washing machine and the contractor has set out two different issues and it's still leaking water and the third time tried to call back because she has not been fixed the 2-10 cannot get a contractor into my home so I have to go out of network and I'm having difficulty finding an out of network provider. Some of the costumer service representatives were not very pleasant to deal with.

We had a leak and the ceiling and they sent somebody out to fix the leak, the kind of a hole in the ceiling, and we had to go through multiple calls to have someone patch the hole and then they didn't actually paint it so we ended up finding a painter to pay out of pocket something like that was like a three step thing so it was such a pain in the ass. We had a hot water heater that was leaking and we were leaving to go out of town the next day and we needed it addressed immediately and two ten make sure that the contractor you know was given whatever approval they needed to go and replace it immediately instead of waiting it was too great. They've been very responsive and helpful and friendly.

Overall I am pleased with the service. There are two opportunities for improvement. I think the company should give a list of approved contractors. I live in a home with a child and two disabled elderly individuals. When my hot water went out during the middle of the winter, I was shocked to find out the provider assigned did not have any opening for two weeks. There was no option for me to get another contractor through 2-10. I did have to option of going out of pocket, but that defeats the purpose of having a warranty. Additionally, 2-10 automatically sides with the contractor. I had a contractor come to repair my fridge. The flex drawer was stuck. He pulled it out and the wiring snapped. Then he deemed it as "damaged" but omitted the part where he pulled it out. When I explained this to 2-10 they said I had to take it up with the contractor. Both of these policies should be addressed.

The first time I called for my furnace I was told they didn’t have anyone in my area. I had to call around to find someone. I had just moved there and didn’t know anyone. They did end up doing some research and found someone great. He had been to the house with the precious owners so he knew the equipment. It turned out well but it took three weeks before it all got settled. I called them again a couple of years and they told me again they didn’t have anyone in the area and I asked for the people I had the last time and they told I would have to pay out of pocket and send the invoice to them to be reimbursed. I was reimbursed the full amount. They have bought us a new oven because they couldn’t find the part for the old one. There was a lot of back and forth before. There are times I call and it take a couple of hours to get a hold of them which is unacceptable. I think their call center is overseas and English is their second language. I have a difficult time communicating with them.

They don't pre check the service providers well enough. The person I spoke to from two ten was wonderful and tried her best to help however the, the service people they tried to provide were less useful. The washing machine was not working the week I filed a report through two ten. A service company was provided to us they showed up they said needed a replacement part. They never got back to me in over two weeks when I contacted two ten again the service provider claims that I had not been returning their calls even though they had never reached out to me. They then proceeded to ignore all calls from two ten as well. A second service company was provided they never even tried to set up an appointment again the person from two ten was very helpful for trying to work it through. Eventually she found a third service company that they work with that group did to set up an appointment to show up and fix the problem but it took almost two months.

I had to use it three days after I purchased the house because the heater a motor in the heater didn't work and we were experiencing below zero weather in Pittsburgh and It took for ever to get somebody to get somebody to reply. I went on the website and then I went on the phone because it was in dire straits up here and it took from Sunday to Thursday to get the problem finally fixed. You can't get anybody on the phone. I spent four hours waiting on hold to get somebody to answer the phone. Well after you get somebody on the phone and actually get the thing rolling, but connecting with a human is near impossible though so, once you get somebody moving and getting going it's okay but getting in contact with somebody to help solve the problem. It's horrendous.

When you call, sometimes you don't get them and you leave messages. Around the 12th of April we called for the upstairs air conditioner. It still has not bee repaired and we call every week. They keep saying they ordered the parts and will be there next week. The next week comes but still nothing. The feedback loop is not very good so we are very frustrated with the service. We've had lots of struggles because of COVID, we make service calls and they don't get attended to. We've had service people come, like when we have the air condition people come look and have no clue what the issue was. They said it was electrical and electricians came and said the compressor was down. They called a different company and that company comes in confirms it was the compressor and we wasted time waiting for the service.

The most recent time we had an issue, with our water heater, we were told we'd only have to pay a nominal amount to get a new water heater. I missed a call asking for authorization, so I called back to provide authorization. I didn't hear back from anyone, called to follow up to find out the status only to find out that nothing had happened because the note added by the rep was not specific enough. I provided my authorization to the person I spoke with during my second call and asked to speak with a manager, none was provided. I was assured the issue would be resolved soon. No correspondence for a day and a half, so I called back again to check the status. This time I found out that the claim was denied, but no one called me! The reason it was denied was because the type of water heater needed (direct vent) is over the covered cost. The rep I spoke with was great and worked to get a check cut to cover a portion of the repair/replacement of our water heater. Communication when statuses change or things go sideways on claims is non-existent.

Well I've used my warranty a few times and sometimes it goes great but more often than not it's not really a great experience. Over a year ago, someone came out to fix my refrigerator and they said they would be back and they never came. So, I started to call them and they said that 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty never sent them the piece of equipment that they were supposed to use to work on it. My experience was very negative because I had a hard time getting in touch with them, and once I was in touch with them, I also had issues with them getting things done on time or in a sufficient way. They don't have much continuity, their way to go about things is constantly changing and they do it without informing you that is changing.

It's good to have when I need it, but it's kind of expensive. My refrigerator went out and the guy came out about three times and it took him about six months to finally give up and get me a new fridge. Customer support is good. Typically, any issues I have come down to the technicians or the people doing the work.

We've had pretty good interaction with everybody. They're responsive. I like the online tool that's easy to use as well. We had someone out to fix our heat and he was done in 5 minutes. One interaction we had there was some difficulty between 2-10 and the contracted team. Something wasn't done right but because things ended between the companies they couldn't come back to fix it.

Unfortunately my most recent experience was not a positive one. My air conditioner went out and that was over the summer when we were having 105 degree temperatures and I was without air conditioning then for almost two months because communication between 2-10 and the air conditioning place that they contracted out. If I did not have a home warranty and had just simply paid for that out of pocket, I would have gotten the conditioning back within a week maximum like everybody else did. But because I went with 2-10, it was delayed during the worst heat of the summer.

Although website makes it easy to file a claim, when one has to call to ask a question one is often on hold for over an hour. Last night I was on call over an hour and still did not get my question answered despite talking to 2 service people. Its been 3-4 weeks since claim filed and service provider determined that appluance needs replacing but no contact by 2-10.

Then the guy came out, ordered parts, scheduled an appointment to fix my ice maker and never heard from again. I've reached out to Choice and they said they were going to send him a special work order today saying "you need to respond within twenty four hours to the lady" and he still hasn't called back.

It's very difficult to actually speak with someone and when you do, they aren't able to send someone out that you've requested or even look them up to see if they're working with you. My last service request I had to go through you 3 times before getting someone to come out. The first two contractors either had a phone number that was no longer working or they no longer work with home warranty. It was very frustrating to say the least because my air conditioning was out.

There are not enough representatives. The customer service representatives are knowledgeable about what's going on. I think a two hour wait is terrible for anyone to be working in customer service. We contacted them about an issue and they didn't cover it. They are not in the package, it says that it covers it, but the representative said that it didn't.

My washer was leaking and the gentleman came out to tell us what we needed to be fix. They later called me and said that the warranty company rejected that fix as part of the warranty and we would have to take care of it ourselves. They need to get back on top of whatever they were doing before because what they're doing now doesn't work. Our ice maker stopped working and a tech came out. He was here the first time for ten minutes and then he came back and was here for twenty minutes the second time and the ice maker works fine. It took two weeks between the visits. I got excellent service from them.

I've used 2-10 several times. When our air conditioner stopped working they were able to within a couple of weeks get the situation resolved with a new AC. There have been some very positive interactions where things happen very quickly and and it was good. Then sometimes we have some people come out to do the work that are not very good, but when we've told them about it they resolved it.

Monthly prices have gone up a lot since I first started. The providers have been excellent. It just takes a long time, about two weeks, to get a garbage disposal issue worked out. They initially sent an electrician and then it turned out we needed someone for the garbage disposal. It wasn't a major problem, but it did take a a couple of weeks and a lot of calls. It takes a long toime to get a question answered and they always direct you to go online for it, but some questions can't be answered online. Calls have been dropped while I'm on hold and then the wait is extended even more.

It is difficult to reach customer support at times. We had to be on hold for hours at a time, sometimes in order to get person to talk to. Our refrigerator failed and we had to put in a request, however it's been a bit of a long drawn out process. The first four contractors two to ten sent out were able to replace one part and then told us they were not certified to work on refrigeration. The 5th contractor that came out recommended replacement, and so we are getting a replacement unit sometime in the not too distant future.

We had some plumbing issues and I waited on the phone for almost an hour on hold trying to get a representative and when I finally did get a representative they were they explain processes that went online and I actually put the information in. It just wasn't a great experience because the first person I put in and they never showed up after sitting at my house after I took the day off from work and they never showed up. So I lost time and money because I was waiting on someone to show and they never showed up. They need more representatives and better vendors that are more reliable.

The service is horrible. When calling in to speak with a live person instead of having to do things through a portal you have to wait hours to get someone on the phone. It hads been a month since I submitted a claim about my washer. There was a leak and they said they needed a replacement part and now they are saying the washer needs to be replaced and it has been a very long time waiting without a washer.

Had a leak and there was some miscomunication and delay in authorizing the repair. So once it was authorized they ordered the part, so now I have to wait even longer for the repair to be done, all the while my floor is constantly wet because of it. Response times and hold times are extremely long. I havr had the same problem with my air conditionind unit every year, so every year I have to pay for mutiple repairs, so I don't understand why they don't just replace it.

I live in Arizona and right now it's well into the triple digits and my AC went out this afternoon. I couldn't put the claim in online due to technical problems. After speaking with a customer service representative I learned they didn't have any AC technicians in-the-network available. I had to leave my house because it was too hot to stay and I checked the AC unit outside and it wasn't working at all. I'm very disappointed there are no AC technicians to help me and I wasn't given an ETA on when I would be able to receive service.

In April we had them come out and they said that they put Freon in it then it cooled off so we didn't have to use it for a few weeks and I turned it back on it didn't work. We just couldn't get anybody to get out here and fix it and they kept telling me I couldn't ask for who I wanted to come out and fix it. When I finally was able to get who I wanted, they fixed it in no time.
