They have hour long hold times when you call for service, they don’t take ownership of a customers service problems. They would rather you cancel your service then make them assist you with technical issues.

I've had my system for less than two months and smoke alarm started chirping. Couldn't get it disabled, tried calling for assistance at three separate times and could not get to a live person. Had to put the alarm in my basement because the noise was so annoying. Now I dread trying to get a new smoke alarm.

Potential customers beware. Protect Amerca will do anything to sell you the home protection system, but the after sale service is dodgy and unhelpful. Decided to renew my service with them at the end of my first three-year contract with them, and the agent at the time told me she could upgrade me to a better protection system without an additional cost. However, she didn't mention the specs of the new system, and it ended up not being compatible with my house. When I reach out to their agent on the particular issue, the new agent couldn't provide me with any solvable solution. While it is not the new agent's fault, I do feel like I have been lied into signing up another three-year contract. Be careful with them.

Lack of Communications as I was promised by the Sales Rep that sold me the service that I could make payment for the service via mail. I found out that it takes several months for that to be granted. I finally was granted access for statement to be mailed, but then received the statement after it was due and received an email that I was deliquent on the bill.

Poor experience in installation. Spent too much time trying to figure out how to self install. Do not see a savings from changing from current, especially since I had to do all the installation. Was charged for equipment when it was advertised equipment was free. I paid the same amount to Vivint for equipment, they installed, I am currently paying the same monthly change with a 3 year agreement while I only had one year with Vivint.

I like the alarm system but the camera are not that great picture wise and I don't understand why I alerts don't come on when someone pulls in the driveway when the camera is pointed to it. Also my front door sensor keeps showing open even though it isn't

I had protect America for 7 years. They utilized the GE Simon system which is not proprietary to protect America. They make the upfront initial investment of $0 for equipment sound like a dream, but $39.99 for 36 months is almost $1500. There is no savings as the equipment charge is built into monitoring. The early term fee is the full cost of the remaining contract and maintenance cost are your issue (batteries for the devices and panels. My system used wireless technology which is no difference than SimpliSafe or other companies. I chose SimpliSafe due to low equipment fees and $15.00 for monitoring and no contract. My equipment cost was $189.00 for the same equipment I had with protect America. Other websites condemn companies like SimpliSafe because there are no contracts. I look at it this way.... all companies have issues but simply safe is cheaper and delivers the same service. Recommendations on the web generally operate like lobbyists even thought they say “non-biased”. I have had experience with p.a. So this is not biased, just business. My .P.A. Cost for seven years $2876.00 (39.95 x72 months)Cost with SimpliSafe for the same time $1269 (189 for equipment + 15 x72 for monitoring). Their is no contract with demolished as well!

representatives are not knowledgeable - different answers from different reps. Multiple meanings for terms such as "monitoring" which sometimes means dispatch on alarm and the times means only put message on main unit. 30 day cancellation policy is really 15 days unless you cancel on-line when it is 14 days!
