Crash & Smash Protection means your alarm system will still send an emergency signal through the cloud, even if a burglar destroys the base unit. You can disarm the countdown from your mobile app, but if you don't, the system interprets it as a crash and smash break-in and notifies the authorities.

Brinks Home Security App

Brinks Home Security Equipment

Brinks Home Security has a variety of high-tech equipment that is available as part of specific security packages as well as individually. 

  • Smart Home Hub — Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Z-Wave, and other home automation devices, the Smart Home Hub includes a wall mount and a table-top stand. It has a high-quality touch screen and includes a removable micro SD card slot for storage. With Z-Wave compatibility, you can have up to 80 lights, 6 locks, 6 thermostats, 6 garage doors, and 21 miscellaneous Z-Wave devices. The Smart Home Hub is also equipped with a 85dB Piezo siren and when the alarm sounds, it is sent to Brinks Home Security's monitoring center through a secure LTE cellular signal. The control panel also encrypts all sensor signals, which means it's hacker-proof.  
  • Wireless Door Sensor — Fully functional up to 200 feet from the control panel, you can place wireless sensors at points of entry within your home. They are lightweight and are easily installed with double-sided adhesive tape. 
  • Wireless Motion Sensor — Similar to the wireless door sensor, the wireless motion sensor has double-sided tape to ensure easy mounting. The battery life lasts up to three to five years. The detection radius is 80 degrees and signal encryption is Proprietary S-Line encryption. The motion sensor is also pet-safe, so you don't have to worry about pets less than 40 pounds setting of the sensor. 
  • Brinks Home Security App — Compatible on iOS and Android devices, the Brinks Home app allows you to control your home security system remotely. You can manage your door locks, lights, security cameras, and thermostats with ease. This also includes seeing a live video feed of your cameras. With your two-way voice doorbell camera, you can not only see what's happening around your home, but you can also use the app to talk through the security camera to your family or other visitors. The customer support answered all of my questions and they stayed on the line and talked to me for a long time to make me feel comfortable with what they were proposing and they did a good job. It was very easy to set up and it went together exactly the way that they said it should. The equipment was easy to install and it all worked exactly the way they said it should. It does require a little bit of a capability to actually install the equipment. Some people might need some help with that. I found it very easy to do but I had to go back and look at the website to understand some of the things that weren't explained thoroughly.

Protect American had a bundle that was perfect for my home and exactly what I needed. It was really easy to install myself. They sent it in the mail that had instructions which was really easy to follow and then they offered a deal with you which was right in my budget. It was perfect for me. The customer service has been the most helpful. Every time I've called they've answered and I've talked to a person within five minutes during a call and then if there is a wait time, I was able to leave my name and number and they would call me back. Customers definitely come first. If you use the system right away if you're home or I forget to turn my system off before I open the door, there's not delay. As soon as the door opens, the alarm is going off and within ten or fifteen seconds they're already on the phone calling me. One time I forgot the password to my system and they immediately hung up with me and called the cops and then they called me to make sure there was no mistake and the cop still showed up. So it was a very fast response.

I'm glad to have them because I needed somebody. They were able to fulfill the hardware that I required for our needs here. And the other ones wouldn't adapt. And Protect America did adapt and made it happen. would say 5. And the reason is that they called me when they said they would; they were with me even when I set the equipment up ahead of time because I'm familiar with setting it up. But they were there and they would test everything out and they would re-test it when we were done, so I was very satisfied with everything they did. One thing they could improve on is that you cannot hear the person' we had the volume all the way up and with the volume all the way up you can't even hear it in the next room. For instance, if we want to turn it on in our bedroom , we can't really hear it fro that area. So that was one item we didn't care for - at least that was our, that was one of the things that we needed. But anyway, it's working out. Also this is the first one that I had to plug into the programming system had to plug into an electric socket. All the other ones were battery operated and they lasted 4 or 5 years. So I had to do a little extra work myself, pulling the wire behind the wall and then fishing it out and the bottom and then putting it into the plug. It'd be a lot easier if it was a battery rather than electric.

Well, the truth is I tried a lot of companies and I thought they were all thieves who wanted $1200, who wanted $900. I was going to go with Vivint but then I saw that Protect America had a rating of #1 on the internet, so I figured I'd give them a call and I spoke to this woman who was very helpful. My son decided that we could put it in ourselves, which we did. The system is not confusing. You can arm and disarm it from your phone - that's the feature I like best of all. I'm glad I went with them. My wife accidentally hit the panic button one night and the police showed up, so I know the system works. Protect America just doesn't say they're going to help, they do help. For example, when I bought the system, there was only one remote for the alarm. And I called up the company and asked what about my wife? They said 'you didn't specify that'. And I told them I was displeased and they immediately sent me a remote for my wife for no charge. That's the kind of company I want to deal with.

I picked them out of the companies I talked to for a quote because they were the most customer service oriented and they were the first to talk to me about actual pricing without a lot of red tape. They've been really responsive to any questions I've had and when my husband and I received the system and how to install it, we had someone walk us through all of that and they were very patient and helpful. I know that they go above and beyond and at the money you pay a monthly fee that's something that I really care about. I know I'm not getting strong along. I didn't feel like it was a hassle at all. It is a pretty standard type of security equipment.

It seems like the best equipment that could be available and they explained to me what was involved with installation. The sales person answered all my questions. Every time I call customer service, they pick up within a minute or two minutes and my questions are answered and things are explained. They're more than willing to spend time with me and not rush me off to get the next customer service person. I'm very happy with their response time, the equipment, and the website and how things work on smart phones. I canceled my other alarm company because they never worked, but this works and I really like I go the best deal I could, I got a lot of free equipment and when I added equipment I always seemed to be getting a discount. They are the real deal as far as security goes; I really trust them.

Every single time I call, they go out of their way to solve my problem. I like the prices and I like that I didn't have to pay off my camera - I could just buy them out right. I also like knowing that I am secure. My alarm went off one time when I was leaving the house and within thirty seconds they were on the phone making sure everything was okay so I like the safety I like that my house is watched over and safe. There are certain things with the app that I have issues with. When I go back to look at video footage it crashes on me regularly and then I have to start all the way over again. It doesn't leave where I left off and that is a very very time consuming and frustrating thing for me.

To be honest, I signed up with them because of the phone call that I received. I talked to a lot of different companies but by far, the person I talked at Protect America was able to answer every question I had and it didn't feel like she was reading through a manual.It felt like I would be more secure using their company because of the fact that you guys have been in business for so long. The other competitors like ADT, Comcast, Infinity all of that just didn't seem like they were that knowledgeable about their product and they kept having to put me on hold in order to find out about this or that. Now when I call, sometimes I'm on hold for several minutes before I get to a live person, but I can always get a hold of someone. It was really easy to install their system ourselves. While they were walking me through on how to install it, whenever we had any problems I would immediately be able to have someone walk me through it and it was just easier. Other places were demanding that someone had to install it for us because it's just too complicated. That was not the case for you guys so that was much more easy. I like Protect America's app.

All the dealings that I've had with the customer service has been excellent so I'm real happy with them. it was easy to install and set up. It's up to the standards of all the equipment that is out there. All around excellent company to so far that I dealt with. We had one issue where smoke in the kitchens set off the smoke alarm and they contacted us immediately and they cancelled the call to the fire department. Today the alarm called the fire department and they came right out even though the alarm had been canceled. They've been on the ball and a couple of times that it's been set off accidentally they were right on the phone with this and alerted us immediately.

I've loved having them as my security system. Their customer support is amazing. My alarm went off at one time, and within 5-6 minutes, the coops were there and I got an alarm from the company asking if I needed protection. The equipment is very dependable. It's wireless, so you don't need to worry about poking holes in walls. They have magnets for the windows and doors, so you don't have to worry about breaking your walls. Protect America is absolutely worth the price. It only took me 15-20 minutes to install the equipment. My experience has been amazing, and I'm planning on having them as my security system for the rest of my life.

When I first got it I was really nervous because I was afraid I would mess up. They gave me plenty of instructions, but I was still afraid I would make a mistake. On a day I actually setting it off after I had turned the system on. I was sure that the alarm had gone off and sure enough, I hadn't walked a thousand feet down the road and a sheriff's car came my way. I walked back and they were there in my house. They were very fast in responding to the alert, and they were able to help me and turn it off. That happened twice after that incident, but I think I was finally able to learn how it works. Once you learn how to use the system it's good though. I am more comfortable with it since there have been 7 robberies in our road. I know that the police will respond fast if we have somebody break into my house.

I switched from ADT because with them I had to go through the telephone lines that go on the posts outside. So if someone wanted to they could just cut it and shut down the alarm system. Monitronics could use my underground lines, so I just decided to go with them since they had what I wanted. Whatever questions I call them about, they have an answer for me. I'm able to handle the panel on my own, and they're always there to ensure my problems are handled or done. I don't have any problems with the system either. The motion detectors and the thing on the door work just fine, they chime in and tell you if someone's coming in the door. I'm satisfied with them.

The techs and custoer service are always nice and helpful. Willing to go the extra mile if I do not understand something. The only thing I wish was different was being able to have a tech here at home to check things out I have two jobs and work the hours that restrict me from calling during the week. It takes a long time to be on the phone trying to fix something and sometimes communication is difficult..I received two alarms for two windows free when I upgraded to wirless, but they are not meant for windows with narrow trim around them. Now I have these window alarms that I would love to use and cannot use them ever. So I guess my suggestion would be to make them so they work in every situation. Other than that I am satisfied.

Although installing the system was time consuming, customer support has actually been pretty good. They always answer my questions in a professional way, and they've provided me with everything I want. The price is relatively good, and I like that they're in touch with the police department. There was a storm once, and the wind blew my garage door, causing the alarm to go off. I was afraid because I thought somebody had broken into my house, but Protect America immediately sent over a Police Officer, and they stayed in touch with me. I liked how the whole thing was managed, it gave me a peace of mind.

The installation is done by yourself, however, they tell you what you need to do through the phone. I liked that it came with sensors that can be attached to my windows with different types of adhesives. I can raise the window to my will, and if anybody raises it any higher, the alarm goes off, so I really liked that feature about them. Besides, for the most part, their customer support has been good. I've run across of a few customer service people that were less helpful in my 12 years with Protect America, but most of them have been good. They take care of any concerns I may have. On top of all of that, they're quick to respond, so I've really felt safe with that.

I've had it for several years now, and they've improved a lot since they went wireless. I've been really satisfied because it's worked out a whole lot better, and the response time is so much better as well. Besides, their installation process was painless, and it went really well. Also, their customer support is very good. They helped me out and sent me all the new stuff to install. I've sat in my chair, about 6 feet away from the box, while my wife opens the door. Before I can get up and turn it off, my phone was ringing, and it was Protect America, making sure everything is alright. It's all been a very positive.

They've been very attentive! The customer service has been a top-notch anytime I need to get a hold of them, they're right there They stay with you until you get the answer you need, plus, they walk you through any of your issues. If there's something that they can't work out, if it's more of a technical issue, they refer you to the appropriate people, and then of course, they actually walk you through everything. Also, it was very easy to install. I did it myself, and I think I did it within 30 minutes. I'm very pleased with it because it does the job I needed to protect my house. It's actually been a pleasure to deal with them.

My house has a lot of windows, so Protect America had a good flexibility with customizing their system to my house. That was one of the main reasons I went with them. Customer support has always been great as well. They're pretty responsive when I've called, and they always help me out if I have troubleshooting issues with my system. When one of the sensors has issues, they send you out the replacements and all. There was an occasion when the alarm got tripped in, so I had a police officer at the door within 10 minutes of that. It was a false alarm at that time, but I know somebody will be here in case I need it. I'm just happy with the service.

We had it installed years and years ago. They had the best response time, they were just as cheap as everybody else, and I like the wireless part. At the time we got it years ago, there weren't too many being marketed that were wireless. It was no problem at all when we moved; I just brought the system with me, and they've talked to me over the phone and said everything was back up. I had to get the new sensors when we switched over to the new box, and customer service told me what to do each time. There weren't any problems when I called and tested, and when it goes off they call and you give them the password. If you don't they'll send someone over. Everything's fine so far, and I love it.

I've had it for years, I think part of the reason for getting it was the price and the other part was the ease of setting it up. Every time I call customer service, they've been right on target. They walk through what ever issues I have to my satisfaction, and I've been very happy with the service that they provided. Installation was easy enough; I just I spoke to them to ask where I should stick my phone to the wall and how to adjust it so that I could pick up all of the different sensors I had in the house. So far I'm very happy with the equipment. They've all worked. I'm satisfied with the price. My overall experience has been very positive. They've been very accommodating, they answer all my questions and when they say they'll call me back, they call me back.

I haven't had any problems or false alarms. I just think that they have an excellent product. Their customer support is very, very friendly; they have the ability to answer questions and interpret what the customer is saying, because sometimes what the customer is saying and what they need to do are two different things, but they're just wonderful on that aspect. I've had just excellent responses from their customer support. Whenever there is a question or an installation item, I can call them and they'll walk me through the process. When the battery was low I had to replace it, and it was somewhat complicated, at least to me, and they walked me through that, and spent a long time helping me on that particular issue.

Something came in the mail about Protect America, and at that point I didn't have any security, and I chose them. I didn't know anybody else. Customer support has been very, very good. They call when anything goes wrong. They don't stop at one number, they do call whatever number it takes to get somebody. I just upgraded from having the one with the telephone line to wireless, and every time I had to call them they had always been very helpful. Installing it was a little difficult for me, but probably wouldn't be so to somebody else, because I am older. It was just a little difficult for me, but they walked me through everything, and they're really patient. It's been a very good experience.

The customer support people have always been very, very helpful... I think the equipment is really easy to understand, and it was easy to install, too. The people on the other line were really good, talking us through it when we had to change our equipment after so many years that it had become outdated. It's been a really good experience for us over the years, and we're gone sometimes or a month or more at a time, so it's nice to be able to have a security and a peace of mind. I'm very satisfied with it, cost wise; we got it so many years ago, our cost is so minimal. When we're not home I feel good about it, and so does my husband. It's been very nice, we're very happy with our service.

"I was using ADT and was not happy with their system and I get some research and found out about Protect America and then there was a true wireless systems that you could just basically bell - prompt to your location that you needed and it's very appealing to me and I like the way the website looks for the company and all the different comments and everything else lifted so I called them and decided to keep going with it and that's the time I was in Anaheim CA and I had just had my garage burglarized so after that episode is when I decided I needed to have a little bit better safety monitoring, security monitoring in my house. Protect America works and I'll give you an example: if you unfortunately trigger the system by yourself and don't reach the way to turn it off in time Protect America gives a quick calls just to make sure you're not being invaded or broken into or anything like that so it's nice to always have safeguard where they call you and that was very good and it's quick too it's within seconds after you reach that point so it's kind of a nice safeguard and I do like the fact that monthly they want you to do system check to make sure everything's working well."

Their sales team is superior, I mean they work with us in any big any way possible that you know, we've upgraded up lot since we first started with them so we just really like them. Other than like I said we are very happy customers and we're with them for 16+ years and like I say we've actually changed, we upgraded our system a couple of times and when we first started with them all you could get was just alarm for your doors and windows and now we have..if somebody breaks up a glass the alarm goes off we have the fire, the fire alarm go out and they call the police and fire departments for you and to me you can't just get no better than what they are

I have the doors and window sensor. I have a motion detector and that's all I got, just the basic alarm with the doors and windows and the motion detector. Love them... I never had any problems with them and if I did have a problem or something I needed to be troubleshot I'll call them and they walked me through it and I never had a problem. I'm 100% satisfied with them because one day I called and he noticed that I had an older system and he told me about upgrading me to the new system and stuff like that 'cause things had changed and I didn't know about that until I called and he offered to put me a new system and they sent it right out so they upgraded it. just over all it's just a great company I never had any problem with them compare to some of the things I heard people say about other alarm companies. It's very easy it's not complicated, you can install it yourself and if you do need help there's a 1800 number where you can call for tech support..it's not really difficult at all because I done it myself.

At the time our vehicles had been vandalized twice while they were on our driveway and we did not hear anything and were afraid that whoever went after the cars will go after the house so that's why we got the security system. My husband did some research online and we're looking for something that was affordable where we didn't need to knock-hole in the walls and I guess Protect America has some good reviews at that time so we decide to try it out. Our overall experience has been pretty good, my husband done most of the you know putting it up and everything, he said pretty simple and it seems to work pretty well too. Their customer service is pretty good when we call with the question or any kind of problems.

I had to cancel in 2021 after many attempts to contact the company to fix my system It was not working for few month and tried to schedule someone to come in with no success after that I asked to cancel the service after few month of my request finally I was able to cancel Now 2 years later I received a text from collection agancy claiming I own them money I do not owe anything they are trying now to send me to collection agency Stay away from this company Service is no good and customer service is horrible and they will scam you for more money and make it very difficult to discontinue the service

I recently had the displeasure of dealing with Brinks Home Security, and I must say that my experience has left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. While I understand that issues can arise with any security system, the way Brinks handles customer service and their cancellation policy has left me with a negative impression. First and foremost, I was shocked to learn that Brinks charges a steep $75 fee for a technician to come out and fix any camera issues. In today's competitive market, many companies offer complimentary or significantly reduced fees for troubleshooting or repairs. This approach seems outdated and unfair to customers who already invested in their security system. Furthermore, the assistance I received over the phone was far from helpful. The representatives I spoke with seemed poorly trained and unable to adequately address or resolve my concerns. Rather than providing me with useful troubleshooting steps or potential solutions, I was left feeling like I was being passed around without any real assistance. The final straw for me was when I decided to cancel my service with Brinks. To my astonishment, I discovered that they have an exorbitant cancellation policy that requires customers to pay the entire monthly fee for the remaining months of their contract, which in my case would be a staggering 20 months! This policy is not only unreasonable but also makes it incredibly difficult and expensive for customers to switch to a better security provider, should they choose to do so. Overall, my experience with Brinks Home Security has been disappointing. The exorbitant fee for technician visits, unhelpful phone support, and punitive cancellation policy have left me questioning the value of their service. I would strongly advise considering alternative security providers that offer better customer support and more reasonable policies.

It was easy to set up and they covered everything that I needed. The only thing that I don't like is the control panel is so big I don't know where to put it. I thought the person who helped install the system was very patient, helpful and knowledgeable. It would be nice if they gave a follow up call after the fact to check if everything is okay and working properly or if I had any questions instead of me having chase them down. There was something that they promised me that I didn't get and so if someone had call me with a follow up call that would have been easy for me to say "hey by the way I didn't get that link can you send it to me now?". It feels like they go after you with a vengeance to get your business so now that they have my business they should have the same level of customer service in my opinion.

Customer service is what sold me on Protect America. The lady who helped me actually gave me more information than I needed but it was very helpful. She walked me through every step and made sure I understood what I was getting. She wasn't selling me stuff I didn't need. She helped me determine what equipment I needed and if the bandwidth of what I had was sufficient. It was very easy to set up and very user friendly.

They did a great job in a step by step instructions on how to install the system so they've done a great job. We got a lot more monitors in the windows and security on the monitoring on some of the doors with the system for a cheaper rate than our other company we used. My wife can actually get on the app on the phone and she can disarm the security system when she pulls up. They've done a fantastic job with us so I appreciate it.

I like that I could save money by doing the installation myself. It was mostly good other than I had a few hiccups here and there. But for the most part, they were very knowledgeable and if they couldn't give me an answer right away, they provided it within twenty four hours. The cameras are good pictures. It seems relatively easy to use with the phone app and the panel they provided me with.

Some competitor have hidden costs involved in the installation process, so I like the fact that is a fully monitored system with a self install option. It is state of the art equipment and I really appreciate the home automation options. It is easy to access as far as alarming and disarming it. The best thing is that it is wireless service and if your lines gets caught or your power gets cut you still have 48 hours of back up battery on the system. It is easy to install yourself, very user friendly and when you have questions they are very helpful with their calls. They explain everything to you and help you out as much as possible. They go above and beyond.

I think they have integrated products that make it a well rounded security system. I have bought some different products from them, like the deluxe door, which has helped me tremendously with my rental property because I am able to let contractors in without giving them the complete access code, and the thermostat helps regulate the electrical use. All these things make for an excellent product.

The equipment looks as good as any alarm system. It was easy to install, easy to set up, and I get information for each one every time it's either turned on or turned off. I think when working with the sales agent, he gave me a very nice rate, especially since I was setting up two accounts with them at the same time. The customer service was quick and I kept getting reminders of needing to get it set up.

I like that you don't have to nail anything on the wall. Usually it's kind of difficult to get ahold of the customer service. It seems pretty reliable. I haven't had any problems. I call and check on it monthly just to make sure it's working and they've been very helpful. Protect America seems pretty reliable and they suggest checking it every month.

The customer support has always answered my questions. They've always been able to help me when I had questions. They've always been very concerned about confidentiality and making sure that they were dealing with the correct person who's acount it was. Making sure that they were protecting my investment. I've had issues with connecting to the internet. The WiFi has not been a hundred percent all that great because of somewhat false readings at times and the notifications that the alarm has been turned off and turned on making me think that somebody's home and apparently that's not the case. Other than that, I've been relatively satisfied.

The representatives were knowledgeable and friendly and helped me set it up with a minimum amount of problems. They answered all my questions which is more than the previous service I had did. I find it hard to set my alarm without the key chain. I guess you would use the app but I would like to be able to use the key fab and set my alarm which I can't do at the moment.

When I recieved all the equipment, there was some stuff that for some reason one or two of the items were not there and Protect America immediately took care of it and talked through a step by step process of attaching everything. The sticky process on the back sometimes comes off and it's only happened once or twice then I glued it. It's very easy to up and it's very easy to turn the alarms off and you can do it from a remote. They should find another way to attach the window systems and door systems other than just velcro or sticky tape.

The only thing I can say is that I wish the cameras were a little better, one that can actually maybe have a zoom quality. You can talk to somebody through the camera but you can't get a good quality shot. I like the company, I like how they operate. They don't send somebody walking through your home and let you do it yourself and are on the phone with you until you get your whole house working. If I unplug my camera, they send me a message and tell me, "hey, you know your camera just got moved". They're on top of things.

Being able to put the system together myself was easy and convenient. The representatives are patient. They took the time to try and understand and figure out if or when I had a situation where I didn't know how to put the tabs where they go. They explained it in detail and they walked me through it step by step. The system gives an immediate response when the alarm is activated and the police come extremely quick.
