Founded in 2008, 10GYM now has nine locations across the state of Oklahoma. 10GYM is committed to bringing convenient, accessible, affordable fitness centers to people in Oklahoma. With a non-intimidating atmosphere and “You can do it” motto, 10GYM is a wonderful option for those seeking to improve their physical and mental well-being, body weight, and overall health.
If you are looking for a local gym to help jumpstart your physical fitness, it is important to find one that is affordable and provides you with the amenities that will help you to be successful. 10GYM offers two different types of memberships with a variety of amenities. Certain amenities may vary depending on location.
The basic plan is definitely a more economical choice for those seeking to get some simple exercise throughout the week. With a $39 upfront fee and $10 monthly fees, this plan can be compared to a number of other gyms basic packages.
Amenities include extensive cardio equipment with private TVs, free weights, stretch areas, fitness assessment with a personal trainer, 24-hour access, free Wi-Fi, and supervised childcare available (at certain locations). This plan does NOT include group fitness.
As the most commonly purchased plan, the preferred plan provides access to a number of amenities not available to basic plan holders. This plan has a $59 upfront fee followed by $21.99 monthly fees making it about twice as expensive as the basic plan. The extra cost comes for good reason. The Preferred Plan does require a 1-year contract.
The extensive list of amenities includes daily free guest pass, private group fitness classes, free unlimited fitness classes (including Zumba, pump, yoga, pilates, bootcamp, abs/core, cardio dance, and fusion), lap pool, sauna, BA Club, aquatic classes, tanning, dry saunas, running/walking track, and all of the amenities provided in the basic plan package.
When paying for a gym pass, you likely don’t want to spend a lot of money. 10GYM charges a $49.99 annual fee to each customer after 60 days of joining. Though this cost is presented on 10GYM’s website, it could be a deterrent for those who feel it is unnecessary.
Another fee that has been the root of some customers’ frustration has been the $79 cancellation fee for those who want to cancel their yearly subscription before hitting the year mark. This fee does not apply to the basic plan, only the preferred plan. Make sure to read the fine print.
If you are looking to work with a personal trainer, you will need to personally reach out to the gym location you plan to attend to see if they have a personal trainer available to work with you. You cannot research the background of these individuals online and contacting them can be difficult.
If you do not take part in training with a personal trainer you may miss the following benefits:
Other than a list of amenities and the sign up process, not much information is provided to those interested. If you want to know more, you will need to contact the company.
Another complaint that has been made by customers and employees is the lack of cleanliness in some of the facilities. When you are using a piece of exercise equipment, you don't want someone else's sweat to still be dripping all over the machine. The workout stations and locker rooms should be cleaned regularly to ensure that you have a positive workout experience.
