The Good

  • Partnered with Amazon Business
  • Integrations
  • Contacting the Company

Partnered with Amazon Business

Awardco jokes that too many businesses "reward" their employees with things nobody actually wants, like a company mousepad or monogrammed towel. And while Awardco is joking, there is some truth to it — as unfortunate as it is.

To ensure that your employees are happy with their rewards, Awardco is partnered with one of the largest online retailers in the world: Amazon (Amazon Business, to be exact). This partnership gives employees access to thousands (if not millions) of reward options. Employees can order that new grill they've had their eye on or order that oversized rug for their living room. Plus, partnering with Amazon Business also allows Awardco to offer free (and fast) shipping on millions of products.

Awardco's partnership with Amazon Business isn't just great for employees. It's good for your company. With Awardco, there are no markups — meaning you get a dollar-for-dollar value. This is a good deal since traditional rewards programs' average markup is over 85 percent.

Integrations

Adding yet another software into the mix is a bit annoying for most companies. However, Awardco integrates with your existing communication tools such as Slack or Microsoft Teams. These integrations make it easy to connect teams and reward employees no matter where they are.

Great Customer Service

Awardco's office is open five days a week, 24 hours a day. Plus, there are several ways in which one can get in touch. First, users can attempt to solve their problem or have their questions answered via Chat. If the Chatbot cannot answer your inquiry, you will be redirected to a support representative.

Users can also create a support ticket automatically by emailing the company's support team. With this feature, it's best to include as much detailed information as possible so your representative can help you as quickly as possible.

The last way users can contact Awardco is by calling and speaking with a support representative. Phone numbers can be found on the website.

The Bad

  • Limited Amazon Items
  • Returns

Limited Amazon Items

When ordering a reward through Awardco, users may notice that their selection of options is slightly different than what they see when they log on to their personal Amazon account. This is because Awardco only offers products directly warehoused and fulfilled by Amazon. However, the company explains that this ensures that Amazon's 30-day return policy covers everything you order with Awardco.

So while this policy does protect the user if something needs to be returned, it does limit what employees can buy.

Returns

Employees should keep in mind that through Awardco, all returns are dependent on individual company policies — returns may vary due to the type of item you ordered, the condition of said item, and whether it's returned within a specific timeframe.

As mentioned before, if you order a product through Amazon, you'll have a 30-day return window. Once the product is returned, you'll get a refund of your reward points.

Currently, there are no refunds on digital and physical gift cards.

Awardco's return policy isn't anything unusual or ridiculous, but it is something that users should keep in mind when they purchase something using their points.

The Bottom Line

Awardco's employee recognition platform is a viable option for businesses worldwide. The software is simple yet powerful, and the partnership with Amazon Business offers something that few other employee recognition software do: lots and lots of choices. Employees can pick from thousands of items from Amazon or choose a gift card to their favorite restaurant, book a stay at a hotel of their choice, and more.

The platform is designed to make recognizing employees simple no matter where they are, so it's easy to integrate the software with tools such as Slack or Microsoft Teams.

Employees need to be aware of the return policy, as it will vary depending on the reward they choose. If you are on the fence about whether or not to use Awardco for your company, we recommend trying out the demo before making any major commitments.
