It doesn’t take long to set up Time Doctor. The company states that the initial set up time for administrators is around 10 minutes and approximately 3–5 minutes for employees. There are a few training videos for everyone to watch, but those are only a few minutes long.
After that, users should be able to log in to the software in just a few minutes.
Time Doctor offers a free 14-day trial to anyone wanting to test out the software. Users can test out all the features Time Doctor has to offer, and if they’re not impressed, they can cancel at any time. Plus, there is no risk of being charged, as Time Doctor’s trial doesn’t require a credit card number.
During the setup, users are offered a $100 off their first month’s bill (if they add their credit card to their account), but this is not mandatory. However, this deal is only offered during the initial setup.
Time Doctor clearly displays its pricing on the website. The company offers three-tiered plans: The Basic, The Standard, and The Premium.
The Basic plan allows one user and costs $7 per user per month. This plan offers a limited number of features such as time tracking, tasks and projects, unlimited screenshots, activity tracking, 3-day support, and 1-month data storage.
The Standard Plan is Time Doctor’s most popular plan. The Standard costs $10 per user per month and includes all the Basic plans features and the following:
The Premium plan is Time Doctor’s most expensive plan. It allows users to access all features, including client login access, VIP support, concierge account setup, video screen captures, VIP support, and unlimited data storage. The premium plan costs $20 per user per month.
Although Time Doctor is better known for its time tracking capabilities, it does provide some useful employee monitoring tools.
Time Doctor’s software providers managers and employees with daily and weekly reports. The reports consist of hours worked, website and applications used, task and client breakdowns, and more. The breakdowns are a great way for businesses to gain insight into how their employees are using their time.
Time Doctor has both an iPhone app and an Android app. However, the company admits that the software and its features are best suited for the desktop version. Unfortunately, the app is only really useful for users to log their time spent away from their computer or simply edit/review their task list.
A common complaint against Time Doctor is the software’s interface and user-friendliness. Perhaps this is because the software created in 2012; many users felt that the design was clunky and out-of-date.
