The Good

  • Power Sharing Capabilities
  • myWallbox App
  • NEMA 4 Rating
  • Price Incentives

Power Sharing Capabilities

The Wallbox Pulsar Plus can charge multiple electric vehicles at once. It has a built-in load balancing feature that allows you to charge multiple vehicles at once by splitting the power evenly across the connected chargers. When one electric vehicle is done charging, the Wallbox automatically adjusts the power available to each connected EV when one charging session starts or ends. For owners with multiple electric vehicles in their home, this feature is a game-changer.

myWallbox App

With the myWallbox App, you can check charging status, start/stop a charging session, review past charging history, set reminders, and even remotely lock the EV charger to prevent unauthorized use. The Pulsar Plus can powershare across multiple units, and in the future, Wallbox plans to introduce the ability to directly bill users that are sharing the units, which is a perfect solution for multiple-unit dwellings.

The beauty of the Pulsar Plus is that you can literally do nothing with the app and simply plug it in when you need to charge. For customers who don’t want to manage anything from their phone, the Pulsar Plus is still an option.

NEMA 4 Rating

The Wallbox Pulsar Plus has a NEMA 4 rated box, which is important if you’re mounting your unit outdoors and live in an area with inclement weather. Many chargers today have a NEMA 3 rating, which won’t provide the extra level of protection in bad weather.

Price Incentives

Wallbox offers a $50 rebate on the purchase of a Pulsar Plus, along with free shipping and returns. Pulsar Plus qualifies for the 30 percent federal tax credit (up to $1,000) for equipment and installation. There is also a possibility of local incentives in your area. Wallbox’s website has a link where customers can check to see extra savings that are available.

The Bad

  • Expensive
  • Light Ring

Expensive

The Wallbox is on the expensive side for an EV charger. As with any potential purchase, the cost is a factor, and some will be dissuaded by it being more costly than other chargers.

Light Ring

The Pulsar Plus has a simple LED ring on the display that communicates its status clearly. However, some users have expressed annoyance over the light ring being a very bright night light. It can’t be dimmed or switched off when charging. There are hacks to reduce the brightness, but it would be nice if this feature was standard with the product.

The Bottom Line

The Pulsar Plus is compact, powerful, and full of smart-charging features with an easy-to-use app. It has a long cable to make charging convenient and great reviews.

Pulsar Plus can charge any electric car on the market and is future-ready to handle more powerful EV batteries. Wallbox’s Pulsar Plus is a great choice when looking to buy an EV charger. It’s an impressive package that often scores at the top position when compared to other chargers.
