Smoolis was officially launched in 2014. However, their story starts in 2009, when Despina and Christina Cosmoulis started a web company in Switzerland that was focused on web design. The sisters realized that there was a large need for multilingual online stores. The Cosmoulis sisters really wanted to build a store that fit their customers' needs. The company has a simple company slogan: "Smoolis is for everyone." The company wants small- to mid-sized businesses to easily develop a store online easily. The solution works well for artists, hand makers, and designers. The Smoolis platform makes it very easy to launch your own online store and sell your items. The company takes its profits from a monthly subscription, not a cut of your profits. This makes Smoolis unique.

Smoolis allows customers to build online stores and websites in as many languages as can be desired without the need for complicated programming. It also accommodates for different currencies should the customer desire it. Additionally, its mobile-ready themes allow for viewing on any device.

Webs is a freemium web host that was offered in 2001. If you want to, you can expand from the free version to the paid versions that offer the potential of an e-commerce store on your website. There are a couple of limitations with Webs, but we found that this product might be a good fit for a small "mom and pop" business. In 2011, a print company called Vistaprint acquired Webs. Vistaprint is a publicly traded company that is based in the Netherlands. In the United States, this company is known as Cimpress, USA. It is pretty easy to design your e-store and website with a unique drag and drop feature. Overall, Webs is pretty affordable for your "basement business."

Weebly is a website designing service that is known for their "drag and drop" features for building your website. Over 20 million websites are designed with Weebly. Also, Weebly websites generate over 1 million web hits every month. Weebly was founded in 2007 and is managed by David Rusenko, Chris Fanini, and Dan Veltri. The company is intended to compete with companies like Wix. Weebly is known for its "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" approach. Weebly is a basic tool for businesses that want to have a very entry-level e-store. If you choose Weebly as your design medium for your e-store, the website is designed for mobile optimization. Also, Weebly has two plans for e-commerce. The Pro plan will send your customers to a checkout site that is different from your domain name. The business plan will let customers check out within your domain name.

Oracle Corporation is an American-based global technology company. They design and market hardware and software projects for businesses, including e-commerce products. As of 2011, measured by revenue, Oracle is the second-largest manufacturer of software. Oracle doesn't offer monthly pricing on their website. You have to contact a vendor to get pricing information. Oracle is aimed at enterprise-level businesses looking to add e-commerce to their existing websites. While responsive design is part of the Oracle commerce paradigm, a web developer will design your templates and website for your e-store.

Wix is a cloud service for website development. This service lets customers create websites and mobile-optimized websites. One of the strengths of Wix is its drag and drop tools. Subscribers can start out with the freemium service level and upgrade their e-commerce store to take payments, use social plug-ins, contact forms, and email marketing. Wix has a wide variety of back-end office applications that increase the functionality of the website. While many of the Wix website subscriptions do not support e-commerce, two of them do. Wix's E-commerce and VIP subscription levels are affordable and let customers empower online sales on their website to take payments. Wix also has some free incentives, in the form of vouchers, to help with your marketing campaigns and SEO. You can use these tools to support a wide array of marketing campaigns as your business grows.
