Amazon's at it again. Say hello to Prime Video on JetBlue flights!

Remember when I talked about how Amazon's tentacles are reaching into every place we go each day? Well, Amazon is no ordinary octopus. This creature has many limbs...and they're long...and one of them is going to fly with you on your next trip. OK, enough with the analogy.

This news has the potential to be very exciting, but it will have no effect on many of you. For some of you, it might even be a disappointment. Let's say you're an Amazon Prime subscriber and you happen to fly with JetBlue a lot. You, my friend, are in luck. You can watch your favorite shows and movies during your flights now, for free! Yea, yea, lucky you.

If you're like me, and you don't use Amazon Prime (strictly over-the-air here), you can still purchase movies and DVDs from Amazon and watch them in-flight. If your flight isn't too long, you'll probably save money. For example, let's say you buy four episodes of Friends to keep you company on a two-hour flight. That would cost you about 8 dollars,  a dollar less than it used to cost to stream videos on JetBlue Flights.

Speaking of cost, I think the coolest thing about this is that you don't have to pay to access Amazon. JetBlue's Fly-Fi internet is free. You need to pay to perform certain bandwidth-intensive things, but Amazon Video doesn't fall into that category. You just use your Prime Account, if you have one, or purchase what you want from your basic Amazon account if you don't. You don't need to pay anything else. You can use your smartphone or tablet to watch or you can use the screen in the seat in front of you. Buy or listen to music from Amazon as well, also without fees. Happy streaming, travelers!
