I wish I had known before I started this whole debt settlement process, how horrible of a process it is. If I had known at the beginning what I know now, I would never have pursued this option. It is by far the worse choice I have ever made in my entire life. I was told at the beginning of this process that it wouldn’t take more than 3 years to settle and resolve all my debts and now i’m being told it could take at least 4 1/2 years. Who wants to go thru this kind of craziness for almost 5 years. The customer service at FDR, aren’t true customer service people, here for the clients, I have dealt with more rude comments or responses to emails than I even want to talk about. The fees that FDR charges are incredibly high and it takes way too long to settle anything. By the time this process is actually completed, I will have paid more than my beginning credit card balances were in full. As a client, we should be told up front how long it really takes to resolve these debts and it should be the 200% truth. Promising a client it will be solved and done in 3 years and then being told a year into the process it might actually take almost 5 years is completely unacceptable. If I had been told up front it would take 5 years, I would have told them they are nuts and never agreed to it.

Started great but now my payments will go past what they told me when I signed up and I keep getting summonses for accounts that have not been negotiated yet. Also the fees they are taking make the total I have to pay about the same as the amount I started with so really not much in savings

When initially enrolling in your program, Larry, the representative informed me that it would take 3 years to settle my debts. Here we are 4 years later and there has been 3 additional years tacked on. There is an affiliate company who attempted to get me to take out a loan to pay off the debt and then pay them back using the same payment amount FDR used so it appears that I will not save any money but FDR has made enough money off of me and wants their affiliate company to be able to make money off of me as well.

When I first signed up I was never told up front that the fees that Freedom charges every time they get a settlement are almost as much as the amount of debt that gets waived. So really they are not saving the debtor any money at all. I have had my largest debt in collections for over a year and that means that they are waiting for the largest one to build up to a much larger amount amount due so that Freedom gets a larger payout from the settlement. Freedom held on to a 1099 C that they had received in January from one of my creditors and did not send it to me until the very end of March. On the letter they sent with it there is no date and no date on the envelope so no way to prove they held on to it for so long. I had already filed my taxes so had to pay and additional 50.00 to have my tax return amended. When I called in to voice my frustration about my largest debt not getting negotiated after being in collections and the amount of the fees I have paid she literally said an I quote " well look at it this way, you only have 1 payment a month"!!!!!!!

Well, let me start by saying I am not a happy customer at this point. I have 4 accounts enrolled in the program. I feel like they deceive me from the beginning. The further into the program I get the more info I find out. First off, they say there are no fees. That is a lie. You can have a monthly deposit into your designated account of $600.00 and only $100.00 of that is paid to your creditor. The rest goes to FDR. That is every month!! If you have a Discover card, DO NOT enroll it in this program!!! Discover does not negotiate. Once the account is charged off for lack of payment(which FDR tells you to not make payments) Discover then proceeds to sue you for the full amount owed plus attorney fees, late fees and interest. This is were the legal team that you sign up with at the beginning of the program comes into play. Again, Discover does not settle. So, now on top of my original monthly deposit I have to make an additional deposit every month of $230.00 for the next 3 years to pay Discover. If I had this kind of money to begin with I could of made the payments on my own. FDR knew that Discover does not settled. Why did they not tell me that up front?? Gee, could it be so they could get more money.... I feel this company is very deceiving. If I knew then what I know now I never would of done it. My credit is trashed now because of this. It will take years to recover. Perhaps Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs would be interested in this. I am sure Better Business Bureau would like the information as well.

Oh where do I began. People please do you home work. This company has perfect customer service skills. They don't tell you the truth. Your credit will turn to complete crap... They wait for you do go into collections. If you are lucky enough they will turn around and offer you a 25.5 loan that comes out to 18k just in interest fees. Please DO YOU RESEARCH!!!! there are better ways than this scam. I have paid them over 1,500 in the last 6 months. I have called all my credit card companies to figure out a plan to pay them down. They will agree to settle with you. Furthermore, Freedom Doesn't tell you that certain companies will not settle with them, such as Chase, Macys. They WAIT till they are in collects. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DO NOT SIGN. Nov 8, 2017 - — The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) today filed a lawsuit against Freedom Debt Relief!!!

I've been with FDR almost a year, they've collected $5700, settled 0 accounts & allowed my smallest debt ($5200) to go into collection! I faxed mailed all collection letters asking that FDR respond before I go into collection. I'm in collection & my credit is in the toilet, lost over 300 points since joining. "Wish I would have been better informed about how bad my credit would get during the process" a comment I agree with.

I am VERY upset with FDR. The salesman who I first spoke with assured me that working with FDR is the best choice to reduce debt and to avoid legal problems arising from accounts in collections. Well that is exactly where I find myself now. I received garnishment paperwork for an account that FDR was supposed to be servicing. I guess they did not start any settlement with the account that went to garnishment because the balance was higher than some of the other smaller items they were working on. FDR did settle a couple accounts for me and their settlement is $5 or $10 a month in order to stretch out the length of time you are in the program. Back to the account with the high balance that was pushed off and not worked on, well now 25% of my income is gone to garnishment for the next several months. I also stupidly signed up for the legal services they offer and have PAID EXTRA to have on my account. The legal reps were very prompt in telling me they would not represent me and just pushed me back to FDR. After calling FDR AGAIN to explain the legal services dropped me, they said they would send my account over to another legal team and I would hear back in 3-5 business days, all while garnishment is looming ahead. A week went by with no word from FDR, I called back and was hung up on. Called back again and spoke to a very rude woman who gave me zero information at all. After getting more and more frustrated with her rude responses I spoke to a supervisor, who told me I needed something from the court. Nobody told me about this prior. In the week of waiting to hear back and the 3 different conversations I had with FDR prior nobody told me to get these documents from the court. All the while FDR does not seem remotely concerned about the fact that my wages are now being garnished, I will need to drop out of school, and could be looking at eviction in the next few months. They were not apologetic and did not offer any alternatives., their only answer was "we haven't heard back" from the firm who filed the garnishment. The supervisor said she could see FDR reached out a week prior, but shows no other notes. They tried to reach out ONE time and never followed up again. They were very eager to work with me when I signed up and gave them permission to debit my bank account every two weeks, but now that my life is falling apart, they could care less. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

By the time you take your large fees out of my deposits, I don.t think im really gaining on this dept. You negotiate a settlement and then take 21% of the original amount, that's almost what I was paying off before. I probably would have been better off just getting a loan. having a lower payment. and not ruining my credit. Your fees coming out of my account are as much as the settlements.

The only problem I’m having is that my credit score is negatively affected during this process . At least the phone calls have been less lately, but is very annoying. My credit or my score was decent until FDR took control. But hopefully debts will be settled and my positive credit score will return to a more acceptable level.
