Jay Sullivan was once a public figure and an interim CEO for Firefox and has now become SVP of consumer product for the deal site Groupon where he will oversee tech products.

Sullivan was appointed simultaneously with Carol Campagnolo as Groupon’s SVP of human resources. Groupon has experienced a high turnover rate in recent years along with being a publicly traded business, which presents a challenge for Jay and Carol.

Several executive changes at Groupon in recent years include Jeff Holden joining Uber, Parker Barille, the head of HR leaving for Twitter, and the CEO Andrew Mason.

Groupon is gearing its platform to be locally driven by using more specific locations and offering several services to combat the slowed growth of the company.

Sullivan with be working in Palo Alto California with CTO Sri Viswanath and CEO Eric Lefkofsky who said of Jay and Carol, “…incredible compliments to our strong Groupon senior management team. Adding their expertise will help ensure that we have the right people and technologies in place to take our marketplace and company to the next level.”
